Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Benjamin Banneker
(1731-1806)
African American astronomer, mathematician and surveyor of Washington, D.C., dies at 74
Biography: Banneker was a largely self-educated, free African-American scientist. He is most famous for his widely published almanacs (1792-1797) for which he calculated the daily locations of stars and planets and accurately forecast lunar and solar eclipses. His almanacs also included opinion pieces, literature, and medical and tidal information.
Banneker was an outspoken anti-slavery supporter who corresponded with Thomas Jefferson on the topics of slavery and racial equality. He included the correspondence between himself and Jefferson in his 1793 almanac.
His other achievements include constructing a wooden clock despite having seen only one other timepiece in his life, and assisting Major Andrew Ellicott in surveying the borders of the original federal capital of the District of Columbia.

Oskar Schindler
(1908-1974)
Austrian businessman and subject of the novel “Schindler’s Ark” and the film “Schindler’s List”, dies at 66
Biography: German industrialist, German spy, and member of the Nazi party who is credited with saving the lives of 1,200 Jews during the Holocaust by employing them in his enamelware and ammunitions factories, located in what is now Poland and the Czech Republic.
His story became famous through the historic novel “Schindler’s List” published by Thomas Keneally in 1982 and by the film of the book made by director Steven Spielberg. The film starred Liam Neeson and won the Academy Award for Best Picture in 1993.
09 October 1988 Felix Wankel, German inventor (Wankel rotary-piston engine), dies at 86
Biography: Felix Wankel is best known for inventing the Wankel engine, a type of internal combustion engine that uses a rotating triangular rotor instead of the more common piston design.
Wankel faced financial difficulties in his early life and was unable to afford a university education. Despite this, he taught himself technical subjects and conceived the idea for his unique engine design at a young age.
During the 1920s and 1930s, Wankel was involved with various radical anti-Semitic organizations and had a complicated relationship with the Nazi Party. He developed seals and rotary valves for German aircraft and torpedoes during World War II.
After the war, Wankel continued developing his engine design. It gained attention through its use in vehicles manufactured by NSU and Mazda, such as the NSU Wankel-Spider and Mazda’s RX-series of cars.
Wankel’s engine design proved successful, and he secured licensing agreements with several major automotive manufacturers worldwide. He sold his share in the licensing royalties for a substantial sum and later sold his Technical Development Center to Daimler-Benz.
Throughout his life, Wankel was a strong supporter of animal rights and opposed animal testing. He also received numerous honors and awards for his work, including an honorary doctorate from the Technical University of Munich and Germany’s highest civilian honor, the Grand Federal Service Cross.
New design promise as the main problem with Wankel’s engine is the dreaded EPA …. Emissons

Wind shear is not having the anticipated effect on ISAIAS and it has become a CAT III (Major and still strengthening). Obviously not good news. The NHC has kept shifting their track warning cone a little to the east at landfall and into an ever sharper swing east after it comes ashore as I and many others expected it would.
