Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

yadent,
And on water, so forget the boat too.
FOR ALL THE SAINTS
One of the elders answered, saying to me, “These who are arrayed in the white robes, who are they, and where did they come from?”
I told him, “My lord, you know.”
He said to me, “These are those who came out of the great suffering.
They washed their robes and made them white in the Lamb’s blood.
Therefore they are before the throne of God,
And they serve him day and night in his temple.
He who sits on the throne will spread his tabernacle over them.
They will never be hungry or thirsty any more.
The sun won’t beat on them, nor any heat;
For the Lamb who is in the middle of the throne shepherds them
And leads them to springs of life-giving waters.
And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”
— Rev 7: 13-17
1. For all the saints who from their labors rest,
Who Thee by faith, before the world confessed,
Thy name, O Jesus, be forever blest.
Alleluia! Alleluia!
2. Thou was their rock, their fortress and their might;
Thou, Lord, their captain in the well-fought fight;
Thou in the darkness drear, their one true light.
Alleluia! Alleluia!
3. Oh, may Thy soldiers, fiathful, true, and bold,
Fight as the saints, who nobly fought of old
And win with them the victor’s crown of gold!
Alleluia! Alleluia!
4. Oh blest communion, fellowship divine!
We weakly struggle, Thou in glory shine;
Yet all are one, for in Thee all are Thine.
Alleluia! Alleluia!
5. And when the fight is fierce, the warfare long,
Steals on the ear the distant trimumph song.
And hearts are brave again, and arms are strong.
Alleluia! Alleluia!
6. The golden eveniing brightens in the west;
Soon, soon to faithful warriors cometh rest;
Sweet is the calm of paradise the blest.
Alleluia! Alleluia!
7. But lo, there breaks a yet more glorious day:
The saints triumphant rise in bright array;
The King of Glory passes on His way.
Alleluia! Alleluia!
8∆ From earth’s wide bounds, from ocean’s farthest coast,
Through gates of pearl streams in the countless host,
Singing to Father, Son, and Holy Ghost:
Alleluia! Alleluia!
“You have been Born Again not from some seed that will decay, but from ONE that cannot decay, through The LIVING WORD of GOD that lasts forever.” *

WHEN PEACE, LIKE A RIVER
Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.
Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

Hey there, Garrison 💕☕ So autumn/fall has arrived…by the calendar anyway. But Texas being Texas, well, you know. I won’t let the lingering summer heat stop me though. I’m in autumnal mood as you will see below, adding mellow music to yours as we get ready for “the season of mists of mellow fruitfulness” (as surely it must be somewhere)….and thank you, John Keats. In the meantime here come this week’s finds, our lovely friends without whom life’s edges would be just a little sharper. WOOF!!
Dear Betsy,
Replying to all your wonderful pictures. Seems like I have lived it … pups with their heads out the window, leaves in Texas now falling, a bed full of pups (lol), even at different times , yellow lab, black lab and chocolate lab. All wonderful. Now I have a rescue with a huge knowledge knot on the top of her head. She rules this home.
Hey speaking of Texas weather just came in from outside and the breeze hascool air to it.
Had a good friend tell me all dogs are rescures….
Gods Blessings
This is my “Land of Whimsy” drawing, Becky, and my favourite this week. Can’t tell you how I have lingered over it, studying every sweet dog. And how right you are..who rescues whom is always the question. Both I suspect 😌💕 Lucky your rescue sweetheart. I know she’s feeling the love…
Our leaves in our part of Texas are dropping, but it’s because we went 60+ days without rain. Another month and they should begin to show their autumn colours (I hope!!!!) 😂
We had a 2 inch several days ago.. I am in Coldspring so many people her on the limb from Texas I have noticed lately. Love it..
Thank you for wat you do Betsy.. 🙂
Such a pleasure, Becky. Yes, there are quite a few of us good old Texas boys and girls hanging around.
It say it feels like home, but this Tree is home…so that would be a bit of a redundancy, right?
Right!!😘👍🏻
We sure are, dear Bet! ❤️
Reminds me of Gary Patterson art.
The Sphinx, bless him 💕
Absolutely great picture. We have an African Grey Parrot… I don’t think he would do that but the dogs and cats like him.
Morning, Terry 😁☕🍁 I’m convinced that different species often have a special undefined something between them when they live amongst one another. And I’ve seen quite a few lovely videos of birds cozying up to their four legged counterparts. Who knows? One day your parrot might surprise you! 😉
Seeing those birds, I can only think of two things. The horrible racket and the lack of control of where they drop droppings.
Poor dog.
Love this Betsy!
If the treehouse was a dog….😂❤️🌳
Such gentle animals, sis. And peace reigns 💕😘
Sorry, can’t resist, Bets
This sweet pup doesn’t dare budgie.
Ahhhhaaaaaaaaa!!! Not he doesn’t.
(You’re the best, dear Corny 💕)
No, that would be you, sis! ❤️
Awwwww……😘
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣❤️
Exactly like it!!!
Right??? 😂👍🏻
And now for an important political announcement 🇺🇸
two fine examples of the Golden Retriever breed.
and because my neighbor just fell prey to this false advertising gimmick, here comes the PSA:
‘English Cream’Golden Retrievers:
In recent years there has been a sharp increase in internet marketing strategies aimed at specifically promoting cream-colored Golden Retrievers.
These light dogs are sometimes being presented to the general public as being exceptionally rare or extremely valuable and are often called ‘English Cream Golden Retrievers’ or ‘Rare White European Golden Retrievers’.
Due to these common marketing ploys the average puppy buyer sometimes mistakes such light-colored Golden Retrievers for being a separate breed.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
There is only one Golden Retriever breed, governed by the breed standard endorsed by various recognized Kennel Clubs around the world.
The Golden Retriever breed originates from Scotland.
All Golden Retrievers across the world are descended from this original Scottish stock
To call the current light ones ‘English Cream Golden Retrievers’ is incorrect terminology, and in fact the majority of these dogs do not even come from England, but are bred right here in North America or are descended from dogs that have been imported from various European countries, Scandinavia, New Zealand and Australia.
The cream color of a Golden Retriever might be considered very attractive to some puppy buyers, but this color does not signify that such a light puppy is particularly superior or that it is necessarily well-bred, or that it should ever be referred to as an ‘English Cream Golden Retriever’.
It is our position that a breeding program which focuses mainly on color should be viewed with skepticism.
If claims are being made that the light creams are more valuable or healthier than darker colored Golden Retrievers, then the buyer should be aware that such statements are blatantly incorrect.
It is never the color of a Golden Retriever that determines its temperament and working ability or its health and potential longevity.
The Golden Retriever Club of America would like to emphasize to breeders and puppy buyers alike that the lighter color has always been part of the full spectrum of colors found in our breed.
Official Standard of the Golden Retriever:
Color — rich, lustrous golden of various shades. Feathering may be lighter than rest of coat. With the exception of graying or whitening of face or body due to age, any white marking, other than a few white hairs on the chest, should be penalized according to its extent. Allowable light shadings are not to be confused with white markings. Predominant body color which is either extremely pale or extremely dark is undesirable.

Good morning, zoom ☕💕 Unfortunately, people who are looking for a dog don’t do their research. Thank you for the information on Goldens. By all accounts they really are sweet dogs to own. One my British husband would call a “soft mouthed” dog.
yes, soft mouth is one of their most desirable traits.🙂
as anyone with a working gun dog will tell you,
nobody likes a chewed up bird, delivered to hand or not!
nail on head, Miss Betsy!
the fact that buyers (like my neighbors 🥴 ) will proudly tell you they just got an
‘English Creme’ immediately broadcasts that they have done ZERO breed research.
the puppies i have seen from producers advertising ‘English Creme’ or
‘White Golden Retrievers’ (oxymoron, anyone?) tend to be fiddle fronted,
loose jointed, long backed, short legged, heavy in the flews,
and rather pendulous – some even pace.
not to say that the glorious Golden Retriever temperament cannot or does not shine through,
just that they are starting out with more than their fair share of disadvantages
which can cause problems in the future.
color is the least important criteria in picking a responsible breeder.
get carpet to match your dog, not vice versa.
(the ‘White Golden Retriever’ ads really bother me.
that’s like trying to buy a pink BLACK and TAN Coonhound. 🙄)
You should hear my sister in law’s (carriage) driving partner who judged at Crufts in the UK. She does not wax lyrical about dog “breeders”. No she does not 😎
lots of factions have tried to sully Crufts over the years,
it remains a must watch in my book.😊
so cool to have an inside look at the judging!
i understand where your family friend is coming from –
i draw a distinction between responsible, dedicated, hobby breeders and
puppy “producers” (as i refer to them above), i.e.: puppies for profit.
it’s a nasty loop – responsible breeders cannot, nor would they want to,
produce enough puppies to satisfy demand,
and this is where the puppy millers justify themselves –
they will tell you they are simply filling that demand.
(they will also sell to anybody, and that is the stuff of nightmares.)
good breeders will tell you if a puppy of a certain breed isn’t right for your situation –
it’s dogs first, hurt people feelings a distant second.
now, on to the driving…i went driving once just to see,
and it made me so acrophobic i will not by choice do it again 😂
(which is weird because i never have that problem riding.)
but yikes, how’d ya like to clean all that tack at the end of the day!?
i get flashes of empathy from your references to jolly olde,
New England can be very much like that, or at least was –
horses and carriages had the right of way and no matter how long it took,
cars had to wait out the dairy cows going back to the barn on the (slightly🤣) paved road.
thanks for another eclectic Cursday!
best to the family!
Not so jolly any longer, dear sir.
But yes, the Brits are still watchful over their dogs. Even more so these days, if you take my point.
My sister in law and friend were both avid and capable horsewomen. Too old now which grieves them, but their attention to detail was precise and unflinchingly regimented. They competed all over Britain and were acquainted with Prince Phlip, a keen carriage competitor himself. Not for the faint of heart for sure.
In Wales it wasn’t cows but sheep. Oh the stories I could tell you! 😂
And finally, eclectic is such a good word and absolutely apt for what I try to deliver each week. Always hoping I can find enough for the next. Somehow I am provided for 🙏🏻
Bless, dear zoom….CATURDAY next up 😸
😊
p.s.: saw coverage of a driving event once,
probably because Prince Phillip was competing.
uh, looked like the equine version of Mad Max to me! 🤣
as always, thanks for the conversational launching pad!
My favorite “breeder” is the local shelter. 😋
Cassie, our German Shorthair/Lab mix would brimg me baby birds who had fallen from their nest, the babies were unharmed. Once I saw her catch a sparrow on the wing which she released at my feet astounded but unmolested.
When we brought our newborn baby boy home, Cassie left our bedroom and slept under the baby’s crib. Cassie crossed the Rainbow Bridge but when we brought home a baby girl, our four year-old son moved his pillow and blankets under the crib and slept there.
amazing
ty for sharing
Oh, my heart, Dave
Our old setter/lab mix, Madam, brought us a baby duck once while we were picnicking at a wash that was running.
We asked her to take us where she found it and she led us to an area about 50 feet away. Asked her to drop it, she did, and that little cutie waddled off looking for mom. Good Girl – extra treats! ❤️
I can only repeat what Corny said above, Dave……
Oh my heart, too.
I am constantly learning about animals and their behaviours which one would not expect. And it continually amazes…and humbles me…to realize how much we don’t know about them. Lest we as humans ever believe ourselves larger and wiser than we actually are.
Bets,
This woman isn’t furious, quite the opposite.
A man who shows such love and care for one of God’s creatures is a loving man – a keeper. ❤️
That was the only issue I had with it, too, girl. How right you are…a keeper 💕
In my world, that 4th line would read, woman removes blueberry custard pie from oven
Teehee!! 😁💕
Only his hairdresser knows for sure…
Beautiful dog. You can see it’s intelligence and energy in the picture too.
I am captivated by him/her as well, Jake. Well and truly 💕
Yes!!!!! 💕
Yes!!! Yes!!! Yes!!!
A Public Service Announcement
The FDA has approved a year long “poison” I next ion for dogs to repel fleas. The name of it is “BRAVECTO QUANTUM” which is causing seizures and death. Many vets are alarmed and are warning dog owners.
Here is a highly recommended substitute. Reviewers have stated that their dogs love these 💕
a few hundred dollars, too:
Another one, lists bravecto and apoquel…
From my friends at the American Shetland Sheepdog Association:
This DNA test identifies dogs that are sensitive to several medications. Shelties, Collies, Australian Shepherds, and Border Collies are a few of the breeds with this genetic mutation. Several commonly used drugs, ex. antiparasitic drugs (some used in heartworm preventatives), tranquilizers (acepromazine), and anti-diarrheal drugs (Imodium®) are a few of the drugs that may affect dogs with this genetic mutation. This test would provide useful, practical knowledge for every Sheltie owner since knowing the status of each dog as clear, carrier, or affected would help a veterinarian determine which drugs to use or avoid in a particular dog. Heterozygous dogs (carriers) exhibit sensitivity to drugs that is similar to or less than that of homozygous (affected) dogs. The frequency of the mutation for Shelties and several other breeds tested at Washington State University can be found at: https://vcpl.vetmed.wsu.edu/affected-breeds. A complete list of drugs that may affect dogs with the MDR1 gene can be found at the following link: http://vcpl.vetmed.wsu.edu/problem-drugs . More information on the topic can be found at: http://vcpl.vetmed.wsu.edu/ . The test can be performed using DNA from cheek brush collection that can be mailed-in by the owner and is offered by multiple DNA testing laboratories.
Also, other dogs…”white feet, don’t treat”
As always, check with your trusted veternarian…
I knew about ivermectin (heart guard) but not ace. TY
As always, check with your trusted veternarian.
After Frontline quit working I used Comfortis until the maker pulled it. Never had a problem with it. I read bad things about Simparica but vet said they had had no complaints. 3 of my dogs, all mix or cross breeds, had no problem. My big girl Kaci a GSDx nearly died. The worst side effect was extreme anxiety and joint pain. I don’t think she ever fully recovered.
Fleas and ticks are a year round problem down here and I wish there were safer and more effective treatments. I used to do the brewers yeast and garlic thing which might work in less ‘buggy’ places.
This may help – Cedar Mulch is great against Mosquitos too. It’s more expensive, but it smells great, looks great, and the cost of flea & tick treatments is astronomical. This may help a bit.
Cedar mulch acts as a natural flea deterrent primarily through the release of aromatic oils, such as thujone and cedrol, which disrupt flea pheromones and create an unfavorable environment for them.
While these oils can kill fleas on contact by causing dehydration and breathing problems, the mulch is most effective as a preventative barrier rather than a cure for established infestations.
To maximize effectiveness, apply a two-to-three-inch layer of cedar chips, shavings, or granules in shaded areas, along fence lines, and around pet resting spots. Ensure the product is not “de-oiled,” as the aromatic compounds are essential for repelling pests; note that the scent fades over time, requiring reapplication every 4–6 weeks or after heavy rain to maintain efficacy.
Also, for ants, spiders and other creepy crawlers – FOOD GRADE Diatomaceous Earth – it MUST BE FOOD GRADE. Also, be careful to sweep it up and not vacuum it, as it can damage vacuum motors. I use FGDE around our perimeter from the start of season through about June. In July, or so, we usually have some awesome praying mantises that come out to help with our pest population and I wouldn’t want to damage a praying mantis with DE.
Safe for pets and human consumption – as long as not inhaled.
Sorry, Woo
I must have missed the part about FG DE you wrote. Had a brain, I’d be dangerous!
I have used cedar mulch as a perimeter guard for years, with great results. Apply at least 2x, usually more times/year. Ditto diatomaceous earth, mostly around the inside basement perimeter. Was also able to buy an all plant, granular product for outdoor use from the grain elevator down the road.
Another item I couldn’t live without was a bug vacuum, that worked like a charm for my trap and release habit. Sadly, it is no longer made. I now use clear plastic drinking cups and a piece of soft-ish paper as my scoop/spatula and temporary cover til I get to the door.
Creatures too high to reach are more of a problem, but I find that long handled dusters, especially lamb’s wool, are usually up to the challenge, and I can make it to the door and safely release just about anything.
Hi, JWoo. We use cedar mulch and FGDE. But we have a little over 3 acres and a small pond so that is a lot of area to cover.
Also, we have plenty of wildlife and ferals which all carry fleas, ticks, mites and who knows what?!
The three dogs we have now really don’t spend a lot of time outside and I have been giving them a spritz of good, old Adams as a repellant.
I do use FGDE on plants and we used it a lot on very young. puppies annd kittens when I did rescue.
Of course its expensive!!! As are vets who dole it out. Private equity I read are buying up vet practices along with everything else. The reason we no longer have a dog or cat.
I use Bifenthrin I/T 7.9 F for Insects, (1 Gallon)…$43.00 @ Amazon, does not hurt vertebrates. Long-Lasting Residual Control
I use this outside and in the house. Fleas do not like water so i bath my dog/50lbs …
no fleas
What a find! If it works, excellent 👍🏻
Betsy, I owned and operated a pest control company for over 20 years. Retired now yea… Just walked outside to let my pup out and IT IS COOL. yea
Yes – I had to take my 11 year old cat to the ER last month. $240 just for walking in the door – and that’s exactly how the employee behind the counter said it! Ended up being another $700.00 mystery ailment that she was fully recovered from the next day lol – just got a shot of anti-nausea medication.
I saw a post elsewhere from a woman who uadnto…HAD TO…take her two young moggies to the only vet on town for a “well check”. Mandatory she was told or else if there were ever an emergency, this vet would not treat them.
Imagine someone like that working with animals who are most times everything to their owners.
Of course its all about $$$.
Cold and mercenary.
Absolutely – cold and mercenary.
I love Nature and all, but ain’t supportin’ no fleas and ticks.
Truli, I should have read down thread before posting.
Bets,
I use diatomaceous earth (DE) to repel and actually kill fleas and mites on dogs and kitties with great success. It is cheap and available online, at feed stores, gardening outlets etc.
Caveat*****
It Must Be Food Grade! Not, what you use for your pool filter which contains harmful chemicals. Read the label!
If your animals lick it, it is actually good for them, being mostly calcium. It doesn’t sting or burn or bother them in any way. I put it on my fingertips and rub into their fur. It is a miracle for ear mites.
I swear I have no financial interest in this product! But, it is nearly miraculous.
It is the consistency of flour and so I try not to breathe it.
Many horse vets recommend DE as a supplement for large animals.
When my sister in law, one of the horsiest women you’d ever meet, still had horses these horrible things were never a problem. But she lives in Wales, so…
Such useful information percolates through these branches. I hope someone here who keeps those majestic animals sees your remedy. What good advice, Corny 💕👍🏻
Another flea solution…. There is a product out there that has a light that hangs above a sticky pad…The fleas go for the light and its heat….and they become trapped onto the sticky pad.
If you cannot find that above product…sorry do not remember the name…make your own…a flat pan holding water with a drop or two of soap…a smaller round container holding a battery powered candle placed into the pan…. Fleas go for the light, get trapped into the water.
I have found that putting the above near the pet’s beds that you will “kill” a lot of the pests…Hardly ever need any flea chemicals!!!!!
Yes, the other natural solutions help as well…Any time I have ever had to use the chemicals, I watch that beloved pet for days…Once my old kitties ran and hid, almost lost both of them because they had a bad reaction.
What an incredibly wonderful and simple idea!! Of course this is probably well known by manufacturers of expensive and often/most times deketerious concoctions.
Just as I am convinced a cure for many cancers(if not all) is also known. I won’t go further….you probably know where I could take this.
Thank you 👍🏻😊
The idea really works…If you have dogs, you can do the homemade trap easily. You could place sticky fly paper under a chair as well. However, with the kitties the sticky trap works best because they cannot get their paws stuck in the sticky paper. Looked it up and it is the Micnaron sticky flea trap…They still make it!!!!
Since we are in “Flea Killing School” get a very fine people head lice comb at the drug store…Have a small dish of hot water handy…Dip the comb in the water, comb through the kitty hair {esp. in the white areas, fleas love white for some reason} …quickly put the comb into the hot water…dead fleas!!!!! The flea combs sold at the pet stores are not fine enough…. believe me I have tied them all!!!!
I guess the fleas and ticks need support, too. And a pretty smart way to get them to eat the supplement. 😂😂😂
Dogs Welcome
People Tolerated
Love this, Bets!
The sign at my front gate says exactly that:
Dogs Welcome
People Tolerated
Friends gave it to us, when they realized it was true! 😁
SO TRUE, sis!!! In All Creatures Great and Small, they even have that sign on their Yorkshire pub door. Which is how I remembered it 😉😁💕
Not quite, but it is Friday Eve, so in it goes 😎👍🏻
There used to be a kindred soul whose handle was, “It’s 5 o’clock somewhere.” Rule to live by!
…or wherever it is 😉😎👍🏻
Hahaha!! There still are 😂👍🏻
well oh gosh betsy jones ♥️
i posted that same song , but by bob dylan , for the autumnal equinox ..
both nat and bob ♥️
I’m not surprised, annie…you always, always post such lovely images and music, and tis the season when truly some of the most memorable songs make us, well, remember 💕. The older I get, the more I’m drawn back to them. It seems I’m not the only one 😌Lovely!
i really liked this depiction ♥️
My favorite…”… the sun rises over the Pacific Ocean in Panama, a phenomenon unique to this country where the sun can also set over the Atlantic Ocean.
This occurs because Panama’s narrow, serpentine “S” shape runs primarily west-to-east, causing the Pacific coastline in regions like Panama City to face south and east, while the Atlantic (Caribbean) coast faces north and west. AI, accurate…
Also lovely…
(Just think of all the arrogant men and women who think that man is in charge of the “climate”.)
Tell me, Bets
The weather people here routinely err in the 6 hour forecast – but are absolutely confidant they know to the half degree, the temperature of earth in 80 years. SMH
I KNOW!!!!! If only they could see and hear themselves!! 😂
That depiction is incorrect.
Take the plane of the earth’s orbit around the sun. The Earth’s tilt is never perpendicular to that plane.
The tilt is 20+ degrees from that perpendicular. There is some wobble to that tilt, but it is always more than 20 degrees.
The earth’s orbit is also not purely a circle. But the tilt determines the seasons. When the north pole is tilted toward the sun it is summer here and winter in the south. Tilted away from the sun, summer in the north and winter in the south.
At the equinoxes, the earth is still tilted. But is at right angles to the Ray from the sun to the earth. Neither towards or away from the sun.
BTW, the earth is a little closer to the sun during Northern winter and a little further away during Southern winter. So clearly the effect of the tilt dominates compared to the change of distance.
This link has some nice graphics.
https://spaceplace.nasa.gov/seasons/en/
Thank you for this great explanation.
Well, yeah, but , at least, they got the distance between the earth and the sun depicted correctly. Right? 😉
Morning, dear Bet. I’m also in an autumnal mood. If I imagine a tiny bit, I can
convince myself that, since we now formally in fall, that early mornings let me feel just a small bit of fall . . . Not, of course—the crisp fall mornings, free of Texas heat and humidity, just aren’t here yet. Soon, soon, however, that first fall ‘norther’ will sweep in and surprise us all as those fast-moving Canadian fronts often do . . . Early fall here in Texas is always full of surprises.
One thing I genuinely look forward too in the fall is the opportunity to change my headgear. I have a good collection of knitted wool, ‘Flat caps’ that are currently just to hot to wear in 90F weather. These are hand-made in Ireland and are quite distinctly ‘over there’ in design. They are quite common caps worn by all sorts of people, both men and women. But if you look at old photos you’ll immediately notice people, mostly men and boys, wearing flat caps. I’ve worn them for years, imagining that my Scots-Irish heritage, provides license of some sort. At least I prefer to think so.
While they’re traditional and everyday wear in Ireland, Scotland, and the UK, they’re ever so slightly engaging here in the ‘States’. I often have people asking curious questions about my hat. But then, I’m sure when you lived in Wales, flat caps—like the landscape— were simply a part of your everyday life.
This will be my first fall, without little ‘Tink. I still miss her gentle companionship, especially her favorite perch on my shoulder on chilly nights. I prefer to think she simply decided to go walkabout and found herself a new home.
The other day, I visited a near neighbor. They have adopted an elderly Yorkie whose owner has died. He’s quite a charming little guy. immediately climbing onto my lap for some gentle petting. Now that I’m walking a bit better, I’m having ‘what if’ thoughts about finding an elderly Yorkie who will easily accommodate my slow gait. I know I move slowly on things but I do feel I need a companion. And an elderly little dog might be just the thing.
Be well, dear Bet. I so value your friendship. Its always such a pleasure to visit with you here amongst our limbs. 🙂
A proper good morning, dear Garrison 😘 I’m not surprised about your chapeaus… especially your flat cap. They are so elegant and do make a statement. But you are right about needing the right temperature for them. I think you need to add a Sherlock Holmes hat to your collection (flaps up of course 😉🍁) And maybe a kilt? Up to you…
I have decided, too, that Tink is somewhere safe and loved as you love her. I won’t use the past tense of that word because I know how deeply you still do, dear friend. What good heart your neighbour has to care for this little Yorkie… I’m sure his previous owner worried about his care before passing, and so I hope somewhere he /she is aware of this tremendous kindness.
And yes, I think you should give some serious thought to finding another companion. I think having another warm body in the house would do a power of good for both. I’m sure there is a little soul out there who would appreciate it 💕 I treasure you, too, Garrison. I am very very moved to know you feel the same. Missed you the first Austin go round. So glad there was a second chance all these years later 😌🍁☕💕
And a ‘proper’ good morning it is indeed, dear Bet. Having done so for so many years, I try not to be functioning quite this early . . . but here I am. Got my cuppa’ Bustelo so all is well. I’ve always bonded rather easily with dogs so I’m not surprised the little Yorkie so quickly climbed onto my lap for a head and ear scratch. I can confidently say that virtually all of my doggies became immediate, very satisfying, companions. I think, however, that I should get my house less cluttered as I’m afraid I’ve allowed things to get a little out-of-control after Maggie’s passing.
Re: Austin. Your mention of Austin reminded me that although we never had reasons to meet I lived just down the street from the Tri-Towers. I lived in one of the 19th century old houses just down from your building. Walking to my morning seminars, I recall the charming Texas-accented morning greetings of your fellow co-eds.
The old Victorian I shared with other UT students (and some mysterious hippies who lived in the basement and were rarely seen). I was importing sports cars from Y’urp at the time and for quite awhile my daily driver was a resplendent 62 Maserati Sebring. Lacking a garage, I found that parking it in the front yard was convenient. The contrast of the Maser with its 16in polished Borrani wire wheels and the gently decaying old house was striking. Looking back it was very much a UT grad student kind of image. It was just down the street from you. Do you recall seeing it? If we had connected, I would have happily given you a ride. 🙂
I must admit I was rather surprised to see you since you outed yourself as a non morning chap. Jolly good!!
And I am also not surprised that dogs sense your affections for them…they just know. I mean, if people don’t like you that’s one thing. If dogs do not, I’ve always thought that was a sign to work on yourself 😉
My memories of those Austin days and the paths I took are vague I’m sorry to say. I lived in the Tri Towers beginning in my sophomore year, the first in an old house probably similar to the one you lived in, owned by the same people who built the Towers. But I do remember the pleasant short walk to get to the Drag, then crossing onto campus. And where all the hippies camped out. The Vietnam years….
What an entrepreneur you were!! And yes, the dichotomy of old house with a gleaming, distinctive Maserati out front must have turned many a head. Couldn’t leave it in such a place now of course. The times they have changed.sadly, and are changing still and faster. Sadly for many reasons.
Ah well, nothing remains the same…except for my daily two cups. I’m on the second, after having done a quick run to the store for a few essentials. So music on, coffee in hand, catching up on “what fresh hell is on the menu today”. Blessed be the rest of your day, my friend. Off with my little meme basket to hunt for next week’s CURSDAY 😎😘👍🏻
Amen to having a warm (loving) body in the house. My little Lexie girl actually takes care of me … sleeps with me …she is 12years old and I give her probiotics, vitamins… good dog feeod, which she likes with peas and cooked carrots over… I dont spoil her no lol.
I have never lived alone and atually it is kinda nice… mis my sweet baby hubby, but he is in no more pain so i can live with it.
Good afternoon, Becky 😘🍁 I’m glad you have one another 💕 Our lives are divided into chapters I always think. And there are some we know are coming which are hard to imagine and bear. For those who reach them, I always say that I can feel their “missing” because I do most deeply, as I do yours now. But I understand also what you recognize, no more pain (as promised) and there is a bittersweet joy I am sure in knowing it for those we love.
(I am content with my own company, too, which when the time comes I know will be an immense blessing 🙏🏻 💕)
Hugs, dear sis, to both you and your sweet Lexie ((())))! 😌💕
Betsy, you are a treasure to the treehouse and anywhere you chose to be.
Big Hug from Coldspring, Texas land of the free and Gods Country 🙂
Oh bless, Becky 😘 This Tree is blessed with the most wonderful people with bog hearts and watchful eyes. How lucky are we??💕
I believe He is still with is, too, in places of His choosing. I pray so anyway 🙏🏻
Betsy, on the fleas, run you vacuum and be sure if you have a bag put it in the garbage, or if you have a dump vac dump it where it’s gone for good … then spray. 🙂
Good day, friends. Sorry (not sorry) to be a buttinsky – but I APPROVE of this message. LOL. Looks good – cowboy hat or flat cap. Nice! So rugged and refined. Giggle. (And I don’t really giggle much.)
😍 😍 😍 😍 😍 !!!! That’s the stuff, Woo. I approve both.
When Chris was still working, I bought him a hat as on the left. It was marked as an Indiana Jones hat and cost peanuts, but it did suit him. His colleagues envied him that hat. He wore it in the winter with a long heavy coat to complete the effect 😂.
About half of my small flat-cap collection was purchased a couple of decades ago. At the time, the exchange rate, made these hand-made caps relatively cheap (about $25 or so).
Lately my newer caps, still made by hand in Ireland, often retail for as much as $80 or so. Fortunately Celtic Clothing, the company I buy from, often has heavily discounted sales so if I’m cap shopping I wait until the price drops. Fortunately over time, the quality has remained the same.
Plug: Celtic Clothing is an American company based in Mass. They specialize in Irish made clothing for both men and women. They specialize in woolens, all of which are of both attractive and well made. The company is a great place to do your Christmas shopping. A couple of Christmases ago I gave a good friend a couple of Irish-wool scarves which she loved.
ty 🙂 I approve!! of both.
It is not what is on the head it is what is in it.!!!
You know, G…. at our Humane Society one can VOLUNTEER and go and walk and love on the doggos without having to fully adopt one. My friend who is an invalid does it, so that he can have some human and pet interaction without fully signing on the dotted line with adoption. He already has two cats -but it’s his way of contributing and taking care of the furry friends who are waiting on furever homes.
Also – our pet shelters will make “deals” for adoptions of elder pets – they will supply vet care and food for the remaining life of the pet in many cases – so it’s definitely worth an ASK.
Mornin’ Dear Woo
Great advice! Our local shelter offers to pay any vet bill for seniors who are adopted and will also provide their food if that is necessary. ❤️
Been contemplating the exact same thing dear ‘Woo. At the moment, I’m beset with cascading house detritus problems I’ve been putting off for too long. But, as they are resolved I’ll begin to have more free time. I have some friends who are well connected with the dog fostering community so doing volunteer work shouldn’t be a problem. This is a very good idea. So, thank you, dear friend. 🙂
Mornin’ Dear Garrison
Go for it!
My folks, in their elder years (where I am now!) adopted only oldsters. What made it a bit easier was knowing we were there for whatever animals might survive them. If you have someone who you trust and that would commit to that, it might make your decision easier. ❤️
There is a pup out there waiting for you!
As I was just saying to friend ‘Woo, there is a fostering community that is a true friend to elderly folks who can no longer reliably care for their animals. That circumstances tends to happen in different ways to different people but fortunately there are caring people there to
step in when needed. Still, far too many old dogs (and cats) find themselves alone in shelters . . . or worse.
Nat King Cole had such a soothing voice…!
Another Autumn Leaves tune, from the rock and roll era, of summer love….
Oh golly, Aggie. Now you’ve dragged me back, girl 💕 I remember them so well. There are some songs which appeal through the years, and this is certainly one. Niiiiiice!!
Mornin’ Dear Bets
That sweet black lab in the leaf pile just melts my heart.
Years ago, we planted a red oak in our orchard – definitely not a native tree at this altitude in AZ. It is now 60 feet, changes colors through the spectrum till it tops out at deep deep red. I sit beneath and enjoy the dogs rolling and playing, and breathe in the smell of autumn.
The best was when my sweet Lordy would rise up on his hinds and pull down a clump of crunchy delicious leaves. Miss that.
The absolute best time of year!
Lordy ❤️
Whoa, Corny………..I know you miss him, because even though I never knew him, so do I. What a wonderful photo💕 And now as expected I’m reaching for my box of tissues, as I seem to be doing more and more these days. I suspect your beautiful sweet Lordy is serving the Master who created him, a thought which I find a great comfort which gets me through a lot. If we didn’t have that to look forward to, where would we be? We are in thisnworld, not of it after all, dear sister 🙏🏻💕
Many thanks for those kind words, sis. 😢
Talarico The Chief Liar A church membership card doesn’t buy you a VIP pass to heaven.
“Liar-in-Chief” is a biting, catchy country-pop track calling out the slick pretenders, false prophets, and political hypocrites who try to pull the wool over everyone’s eyes. It’s time to look past the lies, wake up the neighborhood, and keep the deceivers away from the kids. Pass it on down and let the whole town know!
The more a pol markets their faith, the less I trust them or their faith.
How does that play out with Cruz?
He is usually using faith language specific to certain Christian faiths. But it doesn’t seem like a marketing stunt.
There is a difference. A good friend was elected to be my state rep, is a committed Christian and not shy about saying so, but does not use it as a means of getting those who have similar faith to elect them.
Isle of Man TT track. The most dangerous track in motorsports based on fatalities (270 riders plus 10 fans or officials).
37+ miles trough mountain, hill and dale and multiple old villages on roads originally laid out for horse drawn traffic. Dogs and cats cross the track in the villages and out in the country there are long runs with no fences where sheep graze and geese and other birds fly. No engineered run offs, very few buffered barriers. in the villages the road is bordered by stone walls or houses/buildings right up against the road. Up on the mountain they can face rapidly changing conditions as the climb and descend and powerful cross winds.
Top class motorcycles reach over 200 mph on the longer straights. Record for the whole course is over 136 mph avg.

And this is not for the faint of heart because it shows what happens when things go wrong:
They run against the clock, not each other. This one has 7 minutes of no music. Just showing what fans see at various places along the track.
A friend went a couple of years ago. Even more crazy live than watching on TV. You can stand there and be inches from the racers. Lot of deaths at the end of the day when they open the roads to anyone. I always like the interviews where you have no clue what they are saying
From tonight’s American Greatness. Edits mine.
Our free enterprise economy was based on the 1776 publication of Adam Smith’s Wealth of Nations, in which Smith justly claimed, “little else is requisite to carry a state to the highest degree of opulence from the lowest barbarism but peace, easy taxes, and a tolerable administration of justice: all the rest being brought about by the natural course of things.” But the Democrat Party, since the presidency of FDR, has used the Administrative State to take control of our economy through regulatory, quasi-socialist command, principally in the healthcare, housing, energy, and financial sectors, all to the cost of taxpayers and consumers.
During LBJ’s presidency, the government redefined poverty to include 13 percent of the U.S. population, thereby justifying “Great Society” legislation, which turned our rights of title to the property of our merited earnings into an industrial-scale redistribution of assets from those who earned title to them to those deemed “entitled” to them. Since the advent of the Great Society, $25 trillion has been redistributed to “eradicate poverty”; after 60 years of spending, the poverty rate is 13 percent. There are now 90 agencies dealing with the lifelong dependency of 60,000,000 people at the cost of $1 trillion to American taxpayers per year.
Concentrating power and wealth in an unanswerable, unenumerated center of power, controlling the economy through that same power center, and redistributing wealth on a massive scale to secure the dependency of millions under one political party are all socialist goals that the Democrat Party has accomplished incrementally—that are diametrically opposed to the virtues of our constitutional founding.
In recent years we have witnessed the lawlessness and violence that are traits of socialist tyranny on
national display:
In the Russia Hoax and Impeachment proceedings of the first Trump presidency, because the Democrat Socialist “Party’ did not like who the electorate elected.
In the BLM and Antifa “organizations” looting and burning down over 200 cities in the Summer of 2020 because they did not like who the electorate elected.
In the HHS and Fauci demanding the closure of the economy and the school system while ordering every person in America to ingest a foreign substance into their bodies and those of their children…
In the changes to voting rules in seven toss-up states before the 2020 election to ensure that a political opponent of the party was not elected.
We have witnessed an open-border policy hopeful of replacing an electorate.
We have witnessed sanctuary policies that are anathema to constitutional law.
We have witnessed lawfare as persecution used to silence and debilitate opponents and their friends, associates, and family members.
We have witnessed Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh’s life being threatened, conservative activist Charlie Kirk murdered, and President Trump being the target of assassins on four occasions.
Welcome to the new America; these are all socialist operations, diametrically opposed to the reconciling virtues of our nation’s founding as a constitutional republic. The “party” name Democratic no longer applies.
We are at war, and our nation has become a thousand battlegrounds.
Only We the People can fix this!!! 🇺🇲
An excellent post, Garrison. We have seen the most radical elements in our society move from the shadows out into the open and frankly, being accepted by a portion of our society. They no longer conspire in darkened back rooms, or from across an ocean. They are making an attempt to ‘hijack” a mainstream political party I agree with your assessment that it began with the “great society” which created literal slaves to the government. People who depended on the government for their housing, the food and a pittance of currency. Today, we find that we have another financial threat from our own elected officials who have created NGOs under the guise of helping solve one issue or another, but which reality should us do little to improve those specified causes but do a great deal to enrich the political elite who head those organizations and the politicians who support and vote to fund them. It is a two pronged attack.. one on the political leadership of the country and the other on the financial health of the nation.
Don’t know what their final analysis will be, but interesting….

Drill Bit Snaps on Layer ‘Harder Than Limestone’ at Possible ‘Noah’s Ark’ Site, Crew Including ‘Died Suddenly’ Producer Now Testing for Petrified Wood
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2026/09/drill-bit-snaps-layer-harder-than-limestone-possible
I would have picked a harder stone. Limestone is not all that hard.
Petrified wood; amazing natural occurrence.
Nature is amazing.
God Help US
The lesson of Noah’s Ark becoming proof or a massive tree? Either way it will be a learning experience. Only God’s elements can change wood into stone.
Ron Wyatt found the Ark years ago. These people are grifters. Look up Ron Wyarr on you tube. He also found the Ark of the Covenant. Because Israel and Arabs can’t get along, it was suppressed.
Wyatt not wyarr. Also some of the you tube videos have old black and white photo’s of the crucifixion site that the Israelis have now concrete over. It iis really fascinating information
There’s a viral article about a lesbian bar being terrorized by trannies over ending a COVID mask policy in September 2026. It’s a MUST READ about Leftist insanity. The unintentional humor in this article had me laughing the hardest I’ve laughed in months.

It needs to be repeated:
The Communists in charge of the Blue Cities would rather have their citizens face Murder, Mayhem, Drugs, Squalor, Poop, No Education, Theft, Store Looting, and Repeat Criminality than have their citizens live in a prosperous and safe city.
We have TDS, lawfare, Judgefare, and now Juryfare.
Our society is breaking down and they are doing it on purpose.
That is why I left. At night the zombies come through the neighborhood looking for opportunities. Taking my early morning walk before the sun came up to find someone using my garden hose to take a shower. Driving to the grocery store only to find a dead person in the parking lot with the emergency responders just arriving. People shooting up drugs in the front yard. Empty houses getting squatted by homeless.
This list could go on forever.
Seeing this increase all around. This neighborhood has had more than a few abandoned houses “mysteriously” burned to the ground, eliminating the opportunity for squatters in those structures.
Just as easily could be care less squatters burning down the structures they squat in.
John Glad you got out. No one would vote for this. The corruption in our Blue Cities is Communist level. Those souls will not be able to vote their way out of it.
From The Loon Capital of the World:
https://authenticwisconsin.com/mercer.html
the small map in the link made me aware of just how far north those “Northwoods” really are!
Drove by ‘Miss Claire d’Loon’, a few times…
Silly me, I always thought the “Loon Capital” of the world was Washington DC.!!!
The Town of Mercer is located in the “lakes region” of southern Iron County, WI along US Hwy 51.
I did grow up along HWY 51 north, about an hour south of Mercer.
No Jake, that is “The Loony Bin” if my memory is correct! LOL!
We had a cabin for a few days…near Lake of the Fall…was a wonderful experience…Mercer was the closest I think, to the grocery…Snows(?)…HWY 51 was awesome…we have decided to make it an annual event for the families…
I did not realize just how far north, we really were!
Did you stop in the Minocqua/Woodruf area?. Very touristy.
You should have went past the ‘Minocqua Brewing Company’ where the idiot owner said he would give out free beer if President Trump died, then lost his permit to sell beer when he bought beer in Illinois, then transported it to Wisconsin without paying the alcohol excise tax. I ate their years ago, but don’t know if it was even the same owner. In general it is a very conservative area, but there are always libs around and the area caters to FIB’s.
(I won’t include you as a FIB)

Paracelsus
(1493-1541)
Swiss physician and alchemist (Zinc, Laudanum), dies at 47
Biography: Known as a revolutionary in his time for insisting upon using observations of nature, rather than looking to ancient texts, in open and radical defiance of medical practice of his day.
He is credited for giving zinc its name by calling it zincum. Modern psychology often also credits him for being the first to note that some diseases are rooted in psychological illness
Often called the ‘Father of toxicology’ Paracelsus believed in the importance of chemistry to medicine. He published just one major work during his lifetime “Grosse Wundartzney” (Great Surgery Book”) in 1536 but other were printed by associates after his death.

Dr. Seuss
(1904-1991)
American children’s author (The Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham), dies of cancer at 87
Biography: Theodor Geisel published over 60 books during his life, 44 as Dr. Seuss for children and he remains one of the most beloved children’s authors. Ironically his first children’s book “And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street” was rejected 27 times before being publishing in 1937. Other titles followed after WWI including “Horton Hears a Who!” (1955), “The Cat in the Hat” (1957) and “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”(1957).
A number of Dr. Seuss’ books were designed for very young readers such as “The Cat in the Hat” and are marked by a more pared down vocabulary while still using his trademark drawings and rhyming style. A number of Dr. Seuss stories have been successfully adapted for film and television and in 1984 he was awarded a Special Pulitzer Prize for his contribution to children’s literature.
Geisel is also well known for his more adult cartoons, during WWI he drew many anti-fascist cartoons for newspapers and periodicals and joined the army as a Captain in the animation unit. Geisel is also remembered as an commercial artist, drawing advertising for Standard Oil during the Depression.

One of my pet peeves is doing an Internet search for some information I need, finding a likely answer and then the site wants me to sign up to access the information. I will probably be accessing that site once in my life. I just won’t do that. I would rather watch a 30 second ad video if they need to make money.
I agree with you entirely. I do the same thing. There is enough information about me – or anyone – online as it is.
A dog which is quite popular, but doesn’t seem to get much attention on this site. the Boxer.
Using the latest available AKC rankings—based on 2025 registration data—the top 10 dog breeds in the U.S. are:
The Boxer ranked 11th in the same list. These rankings measure AKC registrations, not every dog owned in the country.
English Springer Spaniel

Spring into action with the English Springer Spaniel, a breed celebrated for its exuberance and love of play! Sporting a classic black and white coat, these dogs are full of enthusiasm.
They have a keen sense of smell and excel in search and rescue missions. At home, they are loving companions who enjoy interactive games.
English Springers thrive on exercise and affection, making them perfect for energetic families who embrace outdoor activities.
Neapolitan Mastiff
All of today’s true mastiff breeds are descended from Molussus type dogs who existed in ancient Greece. These powerful animals were used to guard property and hunt and were even utilized to fight alongside soldiers during wartime.
Today’s Neapolitan Mastiff is still frequently employed as a guard dog throughout the world. Their unfaltering bravery and tendency to sneak up on trespassers without first alerting them to their presence makes them unique among even the toughest of these dog breeds.
It’s this same unshakable personality that attracts many owners searching for a large companion dog to the breed. Their quiet dignity, undying loyalty, and calm nature make them a great choice for the right type of owner.
When it comes to dogs you don’t want to run into in a dark alley, the Neopolitan Mastiff or Mastino Napoletano certainly has to be high on the list. This quintessential mastiff breed is huge, intimidating, and fearless. But don’t let the heavy stare and massive jaws of the Neapolitan Mastiff turn you off to the breed altogether.
I was ‘greeted’ by a mastiff; it took two strong males to get him off me. He smelled my fear and took it as a ‘go get ‘er sign’ I guess.
And the owner said; ‘he’s usually really friendly’. ‘He’s only done that once before’. I called ahead for my next visit.
I trust very few mastiffs though Bull mastiffs and English Mastiff I have known have been sweet and gentle.
I would never trust a Cane Corso or a Presa Canario under any circumstances. They are known dog killers too.
Death of Diane Whipple
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_of_Diane_Whipple
Diane Alexis Whipple (January 31, 1967 – January 26, 2001) was an American lacrosse player and college coach. She was killed in a dog attack in San Francisco on January 26, 2001. The dogs involved were two Presa Canarios belonging to Paul Schneider, a high-ranking member of the Aryan Brotherhood serving three life sentences in state prison. The dogs were looked after by Schneider’s attorneys, Robert Noel and Marjorie Knoller, a married couple that lived in the same apartment building as Whipple. After the fatal attack, the state brought criminal charges against the attorneys. Noel, who was not present during the attack, was convicted of manslaughter. Knoller, who was present, was charged with implied-malice second-degree murder and convicted by the jury. Knoller’s murder conviction, an unusual result for an unintended dog attack, was rejected by the trial judge but ultimately upheld. The case clarified the meaning of implied malice murder.
By 2004, both Knoller and Noel had served their terms for the manslaughter convictions, and Knoller was out on bail while her second-degree murder conviction was under appeal.
It is not enough punishment for what happened to that poor woman.
Well Jake,
I know anecdote isn’t proof of any kind, but……I have never had a sweeter, more docile loving dog than my Mastiff, Sweeney.
He was recovering from very serious surgery and wrapped his paws round me as we slept on the floor together. Was friends with all our other dogs, burros, and kitties. Never, ever heard him growl or even chase the squirrels.
This on top of the fact that someone had wrapped wires around his neck, chopped off his tail, and underfed him. Brought back to the shelter twice – but loved us instantly.
I would take another the minute some @@##ho abuses him/her and leaves it at the shelter.
I know there are breed specific traits, but there is also love.
Thank you for saving him.
Kind souls like you make all the difference.
❤️🐶🤗🫂
that is so true Mrs
soaz is a very kind soul

Thanks, Mrs Feline, but……they save us too. ❤️
As I said, the Bull and English mastiffs I have known have been sweet and gentle.
Eric Clapton did a nice version of Autumn Leaves back in 2010 on his Clapton album.

I was lucky enough to see them in 1975 and 1980 and was able to take my daughter to see them in 2012, Roger, Pete, Zak Starkey and Simon Townsend on the “Quadrophenia and more Tour”. They played the whole album plus a bunch of hits!! Awesome!!
Drilling Begins at Possible ‘Noah’s Ark’ Site
https://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/noahs-ark-turkey-durupinar-formation/2026/09/23/id/1270488/
Researchers have begun drilling into a mysterious boat-shaped formation in eastern Turkey as an international research team claims it has found new evidence challenging the long-held view that the site is a natural geological feature, the Daily Mail reported Wednesday.
Independent researcher Andrew Jones, founder of Noah’s Ark Scans, described the latest scans as a “compelling new line of evidence” suggesting the formation contains non-natural structures.
Jones, who has investigated the site for nearly 30 years, told the Daily Mail that neither the radar surveys nor drilling conducted inside the formation detected limestone or solid bedrock.
Be pretty great if it confirms he Noah Ark story from the Old Testament Bible.
I posted on the Open Thread that these people are grifters. Ron Wyatt found the Ark years ago. Search you tube for his archealogical digs and finds.
Could be I know very little about it other than what was in the article.

The Last Judgement – Hieronymus Bosch

☘️
Portrait of Hieronymus Bosch – Anonymous

Very little is known about the artist Hieronymus Bosch. His date of birth, thoughts, writings, personality, and the meaning of his art have all been lost to time. What is left, though, is a series of paintings that defy the imagination as well as any set art form before him. What is known is that he received many commissions to paint from abroad, and it is thought that he was taught to paint by his father or an uncle. Four out of his five sons also became painters like their father. In 1488 he joined the Brotherhood of Our Lady, which was a highly respected conservative religious group, which is in part some explanation of his subject matter.
Bosch produced several triptychs, or three-part paintings, all known for their fantastical imagery, illustrating moral and religious stories or concepts. He did not paint in the typical Flemish style, and instead drew with his brush, and as such he is considered a revolutionary artist of his time, producing work in his own autonomous style.

“Every time you make a choice you are turning the central part of you, the part of you that chooses, into something a little different than it was before. And taking your life as a whole, with all your innumerable choices, all your life long you are slowly turning this central thing into a heavenly creature or a hellish creature: either into a creature that is in harmony with God, and with other creatures, and with itself, or else into one that is in a state of war and hatred with God, and with its fellow creatures, and with itself. To be the one kind of creature is heaven: that is, it is joy and peace and knowledge and power. To be the other means madness, horror, idiocy, rage, impotence, and eternal loneliness. Each of us at each moment is progressing to the one state of the other.”

saying, “Return, O children of men.”
For a thousand years in your sight
are as yesterday, now that it is past,
or as a watch of the night.
In every age, O Lord, you have been our refuge.
You make an end of them in their sleep;
the next morning they are like the changing grass,
Which at dawn springs up anew,
but by evening wilts and fades.
In every age, O Lord, you have been our refuge.
Teach us to number our days aright,
that we may gain wisdom of heart.
Return, O Lord! How long?
Have pity on your servants!
In every age, O Lord, you have been our refuge.
Fill us at daybreak with your kindness,
that we may shout for joy and gladness all our days.
And may the gracious care of the Lord our God be ours;
prosper the work of our hands for us!
Prosper the work of our hands!
In every age, O Lord, you have been our refuge.

Ecclesiastes 1:2-11
☘️
Vanity of vanities, says Qoheleth,
vanity of vanities! All things are vanity!
What profit has man from all the labor
which he toils at under the sun?
One generation passes and another comes,
but the world forever stays.
The sun rises and the sun goes down;
then it presses on to the place where it rises.
Blowing now toward the south, then toward the north,
the wind turns again and again, resuming its rounds.
All rivers go to the sea,
yet never does the sea become full.
To the place where they go,
the rivers keep on going.
All speech is labored;
there is nothing one can say.
The eye is not satisfied with seeing
nor is the ear satisfied with hearing.
What has been, that will be; what has been done, that will be done. Nothing is new under the sun. Even the thing of which we say, “See, this is new!” has already existed in the ages that preceded us. There is no remembrance of the men of old; nor of those to come will there be any remembrance among those who come after them.

DAILY MEDITATION: ECCLESIASTES 1:2-11
☘️
All things are vanity! (Ecclesiastes 1:2)
You won’t see today’s passage from Ecclesiastes in a list of Top 10 Pep Talks. In fact, reading it in the wrong spirit might put you in a bleak mood. Yet because it is God’s word, it offers us an essential perspective on life. The author, “Qoheleth,” is presented as a wise king who has accumulated all the wealth and wisdom and pleasure that a man could want. And yet he still laments that “All things are vanity!” (Ecclesiastes 1:2).
The Hebrew word for vanity, hebel, literally means breath or vapor. Contemplating the riddle of human existence and pondering the fruits of his own labor, Qoheleth comes to the somber realization that all these things eventually pass away. Every achievement, monument, innovation, and kingdom—even the cycle of seasons and years and generations—will pass like a breath.
Of course, Qoheleth is not wrong. Everything does fade away over time. Everything, that is, except for us humans. That’s because the “breath” that animates each person comes directly from God (Genesis 2:7). And that breath is the farthest thing from vanity! It’s so valuable that Jesus wants us to experience that gift with him for all eternity.
It’s true that time marches on and that all things will pass away like a vapor in the wind. But not everything is vanity. Your life and your decisions have eternal value because you were made for eternity. The breath of God, his very life, is in you. And that life is a life of divine love, a love that “never fails” (1 Corinthians 13:8).
Imagine! Your prayer life, your devotion to your loved ones, your love for Scripture, your care for your neighbor, your compassion for the least of those among us—these are all grace-filled movements of the heart. And they do not fade. They are all moments when you can touch heaven here and now. They are moments when you encounter the Lord, who is inviting you into the blessed communion for which you were created.
Your life is not vanity! When everything else passes away like a wisp of cloud, the new creation you have become in Christ will remain.
“Thank you, Jesus, for breathing your life into me!”

Luke 9:7-9

EACH DAY WE TAKE UP THE OFFENSIVE WEAPON OF THE WORD OF GOD – THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT – ONE VERSE OPENS THE DOOR TO THE CONTEXT OF THE CHAPTER MESSAGE
Verse of the Day for Thursday, September 24, 2026
✟
“The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.”
Psalms 18:2 (KJV)
COMMENTARY FOR PSALMS 18
David rejoices in the deliverances God wrought for him. (1-19) He takes the comfort of his integrity, which God had cleared up. (20-28) He gives to God the glory of all his mighty deeds. (29-50)
1-19 The first words, “I will love thee, O Lord, my strength,” are the scope and contents of the psalm. Those that truly love God, may triumph in him as their Rock and Refuge, and may with confidence call upon him. It is good for us to observe all the circumstances of a mercy which magnify the power of God and his goodness to us in it. David was a praying man, and God was found a prayer-hearing God. If we pray as he did, we shall speed as he did. God’s manifestation of his presence is very fully described, ver. #7-15|. Little appeared of man, but much of God, in these deliverances. It is not possible to apply to the history of the son of Jesse those awful, majestic, and stupendous words which are used through this description of the Divine manifestation. Every part of so solemn a scene of terrors tells us, a greater than David is here. God will not only deliver his people out of their troubles in due time, but he will bear them up under their troubles in the mean time. Can we meditate on ver. 18, without directing one thought to Gethsemane and Calvary? Can we forget that it was in the hour of Christ’s deepest calamity, when Judas betrayed, when his friends forsook, when the multitude derided him, and the smiles of his Father’s love were withheld, that the powers of darkness prevented him? The sorrows of death surrounded him, in his distress he prayed, #Heb 5:7|. God made the earth to shake and tremble, and the rocks to cleave, and brought him out, in his resurrection, because he delighted in him and in his undertaking.
20-28 Those that forsake the ways of the Lord, depart from their God. But though conscious to ourselves of many a false step, let there not be a wicked departure from our God. David kept his eye upon the rule of God’s commands. Constant care to keep from that sin, whatever it be, which most easily besets us, proves that we are upright before God. Those who show mercy to others, even they need mercy. Those who are faithful to God, shall find him all that to them which he has promised to be. The words of the Lord are pure words, very sure to be depended on, and very sweet to be delighted in. Those who resist God, and walk contrary to him, shall find that he will walk contrary to them, #Le 26:21-24|. The gracious recompence of which David spoke, may generally be expected by those who act from right motives. Hence he speaks comfort to the humble, and terror to the proud; “Thou wilt bring down high looks.” And he speaks encouragement to himself; “Thou wilt light my candle:” thou wilt revive and comfort my sorrowful spirit; thou wilt guide my way, that I may avoid the snares laid for me. Thou wilt light my candle to work by, and give me an opportunity of serving thee. Let those that walk in darkness, and labour under discouragements, take courage; God himself will be a Light to them.
29-50 When we praise for one mercy, we must observe the many more, with which we have been compassed all our days. Many things had contributed to David’s advancement, and he owns the hand of God in them all, to teach us to do likewise. In verse 32|, and the following verses, are the gifts of God to the spiritual warrior, whereby he is prepared for the contest, after the example of his victorious Leader. Learn that we must seek release being made through Christ, shall be rejected. In David the type, we behold out of trouble through Christ. The prayer put up, without reconciliation Jesus our Redeemer, conflicting with enemies, compassed with sorrows and with floods of ungodly men, enduring not only the pains of death, but the wrath of God for us; yet calling upon the Father with strong cries and tears; rescued from the grave; proceeding to reconcile, or to put under his feet all other enemies, till death, the last enemy, shall be destroyed. We should love the Lord, our Strength, and our Salvation; we should call on him in every trouble, and praise him for every deliverance; we should aim to walk with him in all righteousness and true holiness, keeping from sin. If we belong to him, he conquers and reigns for us, and we shall conquer and reign through him, and partake of the mercy of our anointed King, which is promised to all his seed for evermore. Amen.
Commentary by Matthew Henry, 1710.

Verse of the Day | Proverbs 4:18 [September 24, 2026]

Thank You, Jesus, for blessings received and prayers answered !!!
WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.

MAPA = MAKE AMERICA PRAY AGAIN
STRENGTHEN MY HEART
Have mercy on me, my Lord and my God
For I am distressed – in chains I am shod
My tears flow like rivers – raging from strain
My heart is pierced – my throat aches in pain
My life spent in sorrow – and in deep regret
My sins are before me – I cannot forget
In repentance I seek You – for right relief
Your loving kindness is – my refuge – belief
Lord – affliction – has broken down my strength
From helplessness, stress – I suffer at length
My foes have encompassed me – all around
They ravage me daily – destruction bound
I trust in You, Lord – take comfort in You
Come to my aid – Lord – Refresh me anew
My life is in Your hands – if it be Your Will
Calm the waters – from their raging – be still
Feed me – knead me – with Your nourishing grace
Through faith without fear – my weakness erase
Infuse me with courage – and strengthen me
Help me be steadfast – a stronghold like Thee
Let me be glad and rejoice in Your love
Assured in Your goodness sent from above
Let me not – for one moment – be fearful
Keep me far from unsure – doubtful – tearful
Free me from distress – of body and mind
Help me walk self-assured – no longer blind
With my life in Your hands – deliver me
From the throes of my foes – let me be free
Strengthen My Heart – as only You know how
Pour forth Your knowledge – understanding now
Send in Your angels – with reinforcements
Lift up my spirit – in inch increments
Send forth Your Spirit – to enlighten me
With knowledge – understanding – wisdom be
A tower of strength – instilled in my heart
Let not Your Spirit – from me ere depart
Strengthen My Heart – my Lord and my King
Let the indwelling Spirit – His power bring
Your justice – Oh Lord – from on high rain down
Let Your Heavenly Grace – be forever my crown
