Hope Karnopp, a politics and breaking-news reporter for the Journal Sentinel, posted a map from the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office showing the approximate location where Tiffany’s plane made an emergency landing in Lake Wausau.Karnopp highlighted information stating that Lake Wausau has a maximum depth of 30 feet and an average depth of approximately seven feet.
When questioned about using the word “only” to describe the lake’s maximum depth, Karnopp responded that she was trying “to explain the gravity of the situation,” adding that “30 feet doesn’t seem like much to me.”
After massive outrage erupted online over her blatant disregard for the gravity of a plane crash, Karnopp deleted the original post and attempted to walk back her statements with a classic media cover-up.
The walk back and explanation:
“I posted tweets earlier that were misunderstood. I was attempting to point out that the depth of the lake could have caused the plane to hit rocks, creating an even more dangerous situation. I did not mean to imply the depth made the landing less serious. It was the opposite.”
Also I found this on the story I mentioned about a 727 landing at the Wausau airport and having to be lightened and flown out by a special crew. I think you airplane guys will appreciate this:
The runway the Boeing 727 most likely used was 13/31, the airport’s main paved runway. It is only about 0.99 mile long—roughly half the length of a typical commercial-airport runway.
Obviously the ‘liddle man’ thinks he can set terms and if Russia & US wont comply, then the war continues…
and while I am posting, here is a thought running through my mind:
The demand for all countries to supply their defensive weapons to Ukraine is beyond my comprehension, so what if Ukraine decides to place demands for more billions and the EU, France, Germany, etc don’t comply after gifting all their weapons. Could they expect to be sanctioned and droned until the ‘liddle man’s’ demands are met…just sayin
Trump Claims Energy Truce Between Russia and Ukraine
US President Donald Trump stated that Russia and Kiev agreed to halt strikes on each other’s energy infrastructure. He also attributed rising global diesel prices to the war rather than Iran.
Neither Moscow nor official Kiev has confirmed the deal yet, though Russian stock markets surged following the announcement.
Zelensky’s Response:
The Ukrainian leader conditionally accepted stopping attacks on Russian energy facilities only if partners guarantee protection of Ukraine’s critical infrastructure. This includes ports, logistics, food, and pharmaceutical warehouses, not just power plants. Kiev awaits concrete proposals for a long-term agreement.
