It’s been going on a long time.
About 64 years after 1962 and only a very small percentage of people know the reality of their government.
If they can assassinate a sitting president, and get away with it, they can do just about anything!
And have and will continue to do so!
Some say Pearl Harbor was used to get us into WWII. That is, Roosevelt knew an attack was coming and did not warn the fleet.
I read a book written by a Japanese diplomat involved in trying to prevent the war. He said the problem was they sent a message to the White House Friday night and Saturday. That if the message had been answered Japan would have called of the attack. The problem was no one at the White House could read Japanese and no one bothered calling someone that could. He stated Japan didn’t want to fight the US because they knew they would eventually lose.
Was the reason no one was at the White House who could read Japanese done on purpose? Why wasn’t someone called when wars was all around and seemed eminent with Japan?
It’s true the US was isolationist after WW2, and the citizens wanted nothing to do with it. After the attack the attitude towards the war changed and the US fully committed to it against Japan, and also Germany as the two countries were allied against the US and the Allied forces. So it’s entirely possible that is the case.
Read Day of Deceit by Stinnett. While controversial, much of his research came from US Navy archives. It offers an interesting view of pre-war political maneuvering and efforts to counter Japanese aggression in China. Let’s tighten the economic screws on oil, scrap metal, etc. and get Japan to “throw the first punch” which will get us into the war and break the strong non-interventionalist peace faction. There is also the “tethered goat” theory to bait a bear, with Midway being the goat.
My Dad, a medic vet in the pacific, said there were many rumors of such things at the time. Would you rather be speaking German or Japanese? He and most others were also thankful for the atomic bombs. Decisive ending that saved lives. He was sent to draw blood samples in Hiroshima one month after for studies on the effects.
My late father’s bomb wing squadron reunion members were united in their assessment that the nuclear weapons saved a tremendous number of lives – and on both sides. A couple of them had studied the issue in detail.

When posting the fleet so forward, Hawaii is closer to California tha Japan, they did emphasisize a coordinated Army/Navy defense of Pearl. Even specifically chose the new Army Commander to get the training done.
Both Army and Navy leaders bear significant blame for making sure this wouldn’t happen.
The only significant long range scouting force were the PBY’s though there were really too few. There were even fewer B17s.
The PBYs though were an important scouting force to cover the Navy advance. That is what the Navy was practicing on weekdays.
As to the answer, the placement was a threat. It is the kind of diplomatic effort we routinely use our military for.
Due to ROTC, I was on a frigate in 1980. S. Korea had a dictator and students were rioting. N. Korea was sending sabotage teams to S. Korea. Carter sent an aircraft carrier to patrol South of S. Korea as a warning for both North and South to behave.
Did it work? Doubt it. Misbehaving continued. Did it fail? We didn’t have war. So it didn’t fail.

Also, we mistakenly didn’t believe that Japan could refuel at sea. True, that was very stupid. But we stupidly believed that fleet was safe.

We were completely blind sided by the fleet that attacked Pearl Harbor, but we did warn Hawaii several times in the runnup.

The carriers weren’t in port because they were secretly reinforcing Wake and Midway. We knew war was close, but we didn’t know where or when.
FDR sent a last minute attempt to Japan to restart negotiations. But it was ignored.
I understand the arrogance and idiocy that ignored the warnings from Washington in Hawaii. That was deeply researched and reported.
But nobody has explained the idiocy that left the Phillipines vulnerable hours after the attack on Pearl. That may be a crack that could be used to pry open a conspiracy, but Pearl ate up all the oxygen. And nobody ever researched MacArthur’s failure.
FDR had spent his entire Presidency building the Navy. In 1940, we passed a bill that would further grow the Navy by 70%.
Not only did the Japanese only have 2 years of oil after FDR’s embargo, but in those 2 years our Navy would be too big for Japan to conceiveably win.
We were only able to start Island hopping in November 1943, using carriers produced by that 1940 law.
And the Japanese were fully aware of that Navy building program.
Despite all that I believe that FDR didn’t want war with Japan. He wanted war with Germany. And he believed he could charm the Japanese out of going to war.
FDR even placed the Pacific war as a low priority behind the European war, including lend lease to both England and Russia.
You have to understand that all American military planning between the world wars for war with Japan was based on them attacking the Phillipines. Oddly enough, that was true for Japan too.
We pre-planned falling back to Corrigedor and we planned taking years to return.
Quite a mind set to overcome to prepare to defend Hawaii. But why weren’t we prepared to defend the Philippines.
On the otherhand Japan designed their fleet to weaken us via long range torpedoes and carrier attacks as they lured us to their waters to beat us with their super battleships.
But Yamamoto got that plan changed. Spent all year designing the Pearl attack and getting it approved up the chain of command.
Also, Hawaii was scheduled to get the codebreaking tool to read the diplomatic traffic, but when we decided to give one to Britain, we took that one and never replaced it. But we did send warnings to Hawaii based on what we learned with one in Washington.
Oddly, I have heard arguments that that was for the best. Hawaii’s entire team was focused on breaking the naval code that we used throughout the war to best Japan. That was more important. And giving Hawaii the diplomatic codebreaking machine may have prevented us from repelling them in the Corral Sea and defeating them at Midway.
So it is complicated. We knew war was coming, but we didn’t know details.
I also read that in 1940, Japan wargamed taking all of French Indochina. They concluded that we would embargo them and that would lead to war. So they only took the northern part to use against China.
A year later they took the rest. As they predicted we embargoed them. And they were ‘surprised’. And that led to the war that they were already planning.
It is kind of difficult. Viewed with that in mind FDR is a dupe who played into their hand. Giving Japan the war justification to start the war they wanted.
Just focusing on America, FDR can be seen as a warmonger forcing innocent Japan to go to war so he could fight Hitler.
Also, it must be remembered that FDR didn’t even ask Congress to go to war against Germany at first, just Japan. It was Germany that jumped in to declare war against us.
That doesn’t really follow the script of tricking Japan to go to war so we could fight Germany.
Also remember, Hawaii was seen as a political weapon to be used by Republicans to take down FDR. That makes it very difficult to trust any of those accusations.
Seems everyday more information comes forth proving just that. And more stays hidden.

Well if this does not give one a gastric ulcer over health care costs…as I search AI (Brave) for info at various levels of hospital finance and the EMR…I came across more than the two hospitals in Chicagoland, that have had problems with electronic billing and getting paid…and changing vendors is a financial nightmare…as the “migration of data” costs are also astronomical…
Apparently, there are expenses that are ongoing for the programs,

Also hospital tech like MRI machines are way to expensive in private practice. Heart and brain surgeon won’t make millions. Small hospitals can’t compete.
Also lawsuits over bad outcomes not malpractice makes liability and liability insurance unaffordable for most private practices.
Reducing regulations and some pricing transparency would help lower costs and make healthcare more affordable. Expectations of free cradle to grave with extraordinary efforts caused a lot of it.
Small hospitals in IL are in big financial trouble…many owe big tax money.
Aggiegirl, I have just been experiencing a ramp-up of contacts, more intrusive documentation of things, over-the-top software garbage from my healthcare conglomerate – the Adventist Health System in the northwest. I get great care and have always been satisfied with that–but the manipulative software, increased # of useless contacts, simply GOOFY things at all levels — is just insane.
I’m still trying to sort out the sequence of 6-8 contacts (by computer, in person, phone) over the last two weeks. I’m trying to organize context and content.
In a willy-nilly “how did happen” kind of way, I have a personal relationship with the man who is one of their operations directors. We are overdue for a “catching up” lunch conversation and I want to provide some feedback — which he has requested of me over the years, having identified me as a helpful, articulate, frank (but not bit*hy) kind of client/patient, and I want to try to give this patient’s overview of what’s happening right now.
The starting point of that relationship was in the bad days of the winter of 2014 when my husband was dying, and the hospital staff royally screwed up on both procedures and personal contact stuff. It was funny/awful/STUPID, etc., but it was when I first met him, because I had written a long letter explaining what happened, and then we had a long phone conversation and that is now a 13 year friendship. I regularly receive cards or notes from him, wanting to stay in touch.
They just keep on FIXING STUFF THAT AIN’T BROKEN, using software to do it, and making me feel like I’m just being PAWED to death, manipulated, with the goal of just wearing me down.
And yet, there is much information in my primary/personal record that is simply WRONG. I have repeatedly made requests, personally, with my primary physician, who acknowledges it was wrong/entered in error…. it kept on reverting to wrong information .. and primary finally told me it was going to keep doing that and not to worry about the wrong information because, IN HIS WORDS, “We never look at that anyway.” Oh. Ok. So incorrect meds and incorrect BP info, etc. is irrelevant to my care. Got it.
I’ve had the same problem (wrong allergies, wrong info on meds ‘regularly taken’, wrong weight and height, in theory my appendix removed, wrong address and primary pharmacy). I used to get calls for scheduling diagnostic testing appointments. Someone has stolen my identity for purposes of electronic health record.
Absolutely no way to correct it. And no one within the system cares enough to create a way to fix it. I have all my credit locked down, but there is no way to do that with EHR.
Get paper copies of all your records, send in corrections every time (because the providers will have default settings on their software too- my pedal pulses were strong and capillary refill awesome enough to be detected through hiking boots, among 2 dozen other falsifications last time I bothered trying to get an antibiotic), and keep lots of documentation.

A theorem is something that has been proven over and over to be true. One instance where the theorem is proven false destroys the theorem and you have to come up with another hypothesis that has to be tested over and over.

Mark Steyn: Mohammed Atta and his federal loan officer
No matter how dumb he was, officialdom was always dumber
When last in this space, 10 days ago, I was writing about whether political correctness kills. This was apropos the 9/11 nutters: “Everything they did stuck out. But it didn’t matter. Because the more they stuck out, the more everyone who mattered was trained to look the other way.”
I didn’t know the half of it. The other day, Johnelle Bryant, an official with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, gave an interview to ABC News in which she revealed that Mohammed Atta and three other September 11th terrorists had visited her Florida office seeking government loans.
America, it seems, came this close to having the World Trade Center incinerated at the taxpayers’ expense.
Mr. Atta swung by in May, 2000, and Ms. Bryant remembers quite a bit about it. “At first,” she says, “he refused to speak with me,” on the grounds that she was, in his words, “but a female.” After he’d reiterated the point, she pulled rank: “I told him that if he was interested in getting a farm-service agency loan in my servicing area, then he would need to deal with me.” Throughout the hour-long interview, he continued to dismiss her as “but a female.”
Ms. Bryant says the applicant was asking for $650,000 to start a crop-dusting business. His plan was to buy a six-seater twin-prop and then remove the seats. “He wanted to build a chemical tank that would fit inside the aircraft and take up every available square inch of the aircraft except for where the pilot would be sitting.”
Hmm.
When she explained that his application would have to be processed, Mr. Atta became “very agitated.” He’d apparently been expecting to leave the office with cash in hand. “He asked me,” recalls Ms. Bryant, “what would prevent him from going behind my desk and cutting my throat and making off with the millions of dollars in that safe.” Try this with your Royal Bank loan officer — I find it works every time. But Ms. Bryant replied politely that there was no money in the safe because loans are never given in cash, and also that she was trained in karate.
His fiendish plan stymied at every turn, Mr. Atta then spotted an aerial view of Washington hanging on the wall behind her. He told her he particularly liked the way it got all the famous landmarks of the city in one convenient picture, pointing specifically to the Pentagon and the White House. “He pulled out a wad of cash,” says Ms. Bryant, “and started throwing money on my desk. He wanted that picture really bad.”
She told him it wasn’t for sale, but he only tossed more dough at her. “His look on his face became very bitter at that point,” Ms. Bryant remembers. “He said, ‘How would America like it if another country destroyed that city and some of the monuments in it,’ like the cities in his country had been destroyed?”
Hmm.
Mr. Atta then moved on to other prominent landmarks in other American cities, and enquired about security at the World Trade Center. Ms. Bryant had a Dallas Cowboys souvenir on her desk, and he asked her about their spectacular stadium and, specifically, the “hole in the roof.”
At that point, the chit-chat turned to Mr. Atta’s own country, which he claimed was Afghanistan. “He mentioned Osama bin Laden,” she says. “He could have been a character on Star Wars for all I knew.” So Mr. Atta helpfully explained that this bin Laden guy “would someday be known as the world’s greatest leader.”
Alas, the interview ended badly from the terrorists’ point of view when Ms. Bryant informed her visitor that the loan program is for farm-based projects and a crop-dusting business did not qualify.
A few weeks later, another September 11th killer showed up, Marwan al- Shehhi, seeking half-a-million bucks supposedly to buy a sugar-cane farm. Accompanying him was Mr. Atta, but he was cunningly disguised with a pair of glasses and claiming to be someone else entirely, attending in his capacity as Mr. al-Shehhi’s accountant.
Sportingly, Ms. Bryant went along with the wheeze. I’m reminded of the time my sister tried to wangle her boyfriend a day off work. She called up the receptionist and, adopting a fake accent, told her that she was the dentist’s secretary and he needed to come in immediately for critical dental work. “My God, that’s terrible,” said the receptionist. “I’ll tell him at once.” She then buzzed through to the boyfriend: “Stewart, Karen just called pretending to be the dentist’s secretary. Do you think she needs to see a doctor?”
But Ms. Bryant didn’t think Mr. Atta was sick. The safe-breaking, the throat- slitting, the fake specs … why, he was just being charmingly multicultural! “I felt that he was trying to make the cultural leap from the country that he came from,” she says. “I was attempting, in every manner I could, to help him make his relocation into our country as easy for him as I could.” Unfortunately, his imaginative business plan for a crop-duster capable of crop-dusting Texas was frustrated by the unduly onerous restrictions and bureaucratic torpor of the USDA program. By late summer, Mr. Atta and his chums had concluded the government was never going to buy them their own twin-props and they’d have to make do with the aircraft that were already up there. So they switched their flight training courses from small planes to large jet simulators, and told their instructors to skip all that takeoff and landing stuff.
Ms. Bryant has come forward now because she thinks “it’s very vital that the Americans realize that when these people come to the United States, they don’t have a big ‘T’ on their forehead.” No, indeed. In some cases, they have a big “T-E-R-R-O-R-I-S-T” flashing in neon off the end of their nose. Ten days ago, I pointed out that these fellows made virtually no effort to blend in. They weren’t in “deep cover,” they were barely covered at all. Atta was the brains of the operation, and he did a marginally better job of it than Leslie Nielsen would have. His one great insight into Western culture was his assumption that he could get a government grant to take out the Pentagon. Yet no matter how dumb he was, officialdom was always dumber
“If they watch this interview and they see the type of questions that Atta asked me,” Ms. Bryant told ABC News, “then perhaps they will recognize a terrorist, and make the call that I didn’t make.” Meanwhile, here are some signs to look for:
1) He threatens to cut your throat.
2) He talks about the destruction of prominent landmarks.
3) He enquires about security at said landmarks.
4) He hails Osama bin Laden as a great leader.
There’ll be more of these stories, tales of men virtually screaming their intentions but up against a culture sensitivity-trained into a coma. A stump- toothed Appalachian mountain man would get slung out on his ear if he was that misogynist and abusive in a government office. In a Hollywood movie, the guy refusing to deal with the little lady and demanding to see the real boss would be a sexist Republican Congressman. In the new motion-picture blockbuster The Sum Of All Fears, the Islamic terrorists of Tom Clancy’s novel have been replaced with neo-Nazis — a safe villain that won’t offend our delicate multicultural sensibilities.
The good news is we’re up against idiots. The bad news is we’re also up against the suppler idiocies of current Western orthodoxy. Thus, the U.S. government’s new plans to photograph and fingerprint visitors from countries “believed to harbour terrorists” have already been attacked by Mary Robinson, the UN Human Rights honcho who’s never met an Arab dictator she didn’t like. They tax the sale of the house when you buy it.
They tax you every year – initially based on the price you bought it for, but eventually climbing to a cost that is greater than your original payments.
They tax it when you sell it.
It’s pure theft.
It’s no different than the left’s desired tax on unrealized gains – in fact, it’s exactly the same. You are paying taxes on unrealized gains (i.e. the increased value of the house).
It’s also extremely socialist.
Why socialist you ask? Imagine two houses side by side – cookie cutter houses with the only difference being the color of the bricks. In one house lives an elderly woman (whose husband is dead and never was able to conceive), like the one mentioned in the tweet. In the other lives a family of 5, with 3 kids in school. They both pay the same tax…a tax that is for “public services”, including schools.
It’s also made up numbers, as in the tweet. Again, two houses next to each other, lived in for 30 years. One is well maintained, has been remodeled inside, has all manner of features inside that will result in a high resale price. The other is kept clean, but still has the original paint and carpet and appliances – no remodeling, no improvements, nothing. Again, they both pay the same taxes, as they are assessed the same amount.
It is theft. However, I know my county has a waiver on property taxes for seniors earning under a certain income level. Maybe that’s an option for her. On the tax itself some states are attempting to abolish it. (Good luck!)

The problem will resolve itself, either by law and deportation, or by direct action. That’s my prediction. We are not Europe. The threat is real. I expect a MAGA government to take care of it. Which is why the mid-terms and every election thereafter, at any level, most be a priority. There is a tipping point though. I don’t know what it is but I know we are not there yet. But soon (like a generation).

When people claim Jesus would support breaking immigration laws, set up government welfare, or turn over tables in political assemblies, they misapply Scripture out of context. The Bible teaches respect for civil laws, personal charity, and reverence for God—not secular political activism.
Regarding the rule of law, Scripture commands obedience to national authorities. In Romans 13:1–2, Paul writes that governing authorities are instituted by God, warning that “whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God.” Jesus Himself affirmed civil compliance in Matthew 22:21 when He said, “Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s.” Furthermore, 1 Peter 2:13–14 instructs believers to submit to every human ordinance and legal authority for the Lord’s sake. Even in Old Testament law (Leviticus 24:22), foreign sojourners were required to obey the exact same laws as native-born citizens.
The idea of Jesus turning over tables in a legislative body like the Senate misunderstands His actions in Matthew 21:12–13. Jesus overturned tables inside the sacred Temple—not a government building—because vendors were exploiting religious worshippers. He was defending the holiness of God’s house of prayer against religious corruption, not taking a stance on national border policies or secular politics.
Finally, biblical charity differs greatly from government welfare. In 2 Corinthians 9:7, Scripture highlights voluntary, personal giving (“let each one give as he purposes in his heart”), rather than state-mandated redistribution. While the Bible commands love and kindness toward strangers (Leviticus 19:34), it also balances compassion with individual accountability, stating in 2 Thessalonians 3:10 that “if anyone will not work, neither shall he eat.”
In short, while Jesus calls His followers to show personal compassion to everyone, Scripture firmly rejects lawlessness and maintains that civil government exists to uphold order and enforce laws.
