Re Canada, some of y’all have lost sight of the goal. As satisfying as it might be, punishing the Snow Mexicans for being the obnoxious virtue signalling asshat hosers that they are is not the goal, it’s the consolation prize.
The goal for Trump is a self-reliant Western Hemisphere free of the need to kiss up to China, Europe, Arabia, etc. Having our two next door neighbors be free and economically healthy is far better for Main Street America than to have failing economies on both borders sucking up to China.
definitely agreed. canada is perfectly capable of taking care of itself and having a solid, symbiotic relationship with us and Mexico. the only reason they (and we, historically), reach out to the Chinese is because that cheap crap value looks better as we burden ourselves with silly rules and regulations and taxation. and canada is very prolific at that, much like the euros.
and to the degree that our relationship can forcibly break that spell, the better off we will all be.
And for Carney to prevail in his mission to lead the WEF and CCPs assault on the existential threat to the New World Order that President Trump’s burgeoning America presents, from inside CCP-owned Canada.

Let Canadians live their Darwinian fate. The hopelessly stupid should receive the ultimate prize. If you are too dumb to survive, you SHOULD perish. Leave more room on Earth for those who actually have a clue.
The 2 things are not mutually exclusive. The same could be said of many Americans, or anyone else.
Charles’ point was not that ignorant Canadians would not or should not suffer their own stupidity, but rather that a free and economically healthy Canada benefits the U.S. in many ways just by virtue of the fact that it is right next door, just as he stated.

Agreed, this “ hoser” would suggest that the elimination of the U.K. in particular is the more important.
While obviously a part of the E.U. it is IMO quite different.
As the not so Royal family has an immensely powerful sway with many older Canadians, and King Chuckie has Carney’s ear big time.
If we could get rid of the vestiges of “ jolly old England” things would improve rapidly.
I was Scots born, mine and my Irish cousins from centuries ago were hounded of that putrid island of class conscious and pompous asswipes.

I echo Fionnagh’s comment. I enjoy your insights. As an American in a mixed US-Canadian marriage with family on both sides of the border, the heated rhetoric and distortions from both sides is getting tiresome.
I live right on the border. I now know how families living on the Mason-Dixon line must have felt leading up to the Civil War.

The next step is for the government to file a sentencing memo. If any part of that memo is sealed, it will reveal that the former NIAID bureaucrat is singing like a canary.
His co-conspirators will be aware of it, too.
Morens swapped five counts for a plea on a single conspiracy charge— a setup that hints at a broader bargain with prosecutors and possibly more charges to come.
These kinds of deals are common in cooperation cases, as the DOJ’s typical strategy is to start with the weakest defendant and then escalate the conspiracy charges from there.
The public hasn’t yet seen Morens’ personal emails, which the DOJ almost certainly now possesses. That adds to the list of lies and deceit that have yet to surface.
