I’m focusing on solving problems, and getting help on solving them.
Being as it is that my wife has been in a cancer war for awhile, I’m recognizing the help in solving problems comes from a whole lot of people.
The single, greatest, and most important help is GOD.
I’m convinced that all too often people quit before solving a problem. There can be a variety of reasons for quitting. But they think the problem cannot be solved when it potentially can, and they accept a reality that does not yet have to be that way.
In no way am I saying there are not realities that must be accepted. But sometimes there are methods of fighting that can still be employed and results, even wins, that can be had.
Today at my wife’s radiation another couple asked how she is doing when she went back for treatment.
She’s disfigured and permanently impaired from having most of her jaw removed along with the right half of her tongue, the right floor of her mouth, and 48 lymph nodes from her neck. She had a section of her fibula in her lower leg cut out, along with the meat, flesh, and a blood supply and that was used to rebuild her jaw. A section of that material was sewn onto what remains of her tongue, and also sewn into the floor of her mouth. The incisions where she had 48 lymph nodes removed make it look like someone tried to cut her head off. No, I am not exaggerating.
The man was there for radiation, and has only had a few treatments. He made a comment questioning if going through what people have to go through dealing with cancer is worth it.
You could almost see he was ready to quit in his eyes. You could also almost see his wife’s desperation.
I went into a detailed explanation of what Jane has gone through and repeated several times “you can’t win if you don’t fight”. And I also told about the nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and everything else she’s gone through.
And I added “I’m not saying it’s going to be easy, I’m saying it’s going to be WORTH IT”.
If nothing else Jane can show people how to FIGHT, and how to deal with the terribleness that is cancer.
She and I may run into problems that cannot be solved. At some point something will take us all, that’s reality, and yes, it must be accepted.
But……..don’t accept something as realty til you have done everything you can do, which WILL BE MORE THAN YOU REALIZED YOU CAN DO, and until you have fervently prayed for GOD’S help along the way.
Never quit. Never, ever, ever, EVER quit.

It a normal sight in a major airport. SeaTac has a Buddhist room. You wouldn’t know it was there unless you happened to see the sign.
The washing stations are better than having the Muslims wash their feet in the regular bathroom sinks. Then you come along and splash your face.
I’m not making this up. A few years ago, a video taken in a European country shown a Moose-slime washing his butt in a public fountain in broad daylight! This is nothing to joke about.

One of the many reasons he left that employ.

We lucked out yesterday. The main part of the squall line missed us so we got a break. But now as I write this it is coming down hard again. Most of the bridges over the White River in Anderson are closed. Strip mall stores along the 109 bypass flooded. Dunham’s, Mancinos, and many others. Mandatory evacuations of lots of residences.
The old Conservation club building at the junction of 8th st and Raible Ave. was nearly flooded before the water level peaked yesterday. I’m wondering if it will still be there today. I attended my Great uncle Sherm and his wife Ethyl’s 60th wedding anniversary party there when I was about 7 y/o. The pond there that I ice skated on when I was 16 y/o had been joined by the river. Haven’t been able to ice skate there for decades because they had to put a fence up along it due to liability so I couldn’t take my kids or Grandkids there. Karens and lawyers ruin everything it seems.
Suspect there will be boil orders since the city water treatment plants along the White River are flooded. The Nephew that did the electrical work on the new additions to my home and wired up my Generac is the chief electrician for the water department and so will be very busy.
Thankfully none of this has effected me or members of my family directly except for detours to get around and the coming boil order for some of my siblings and nephews and nieces. None have had to evacuate. I am well outside the city and we’re on a well and all it well here. And Mofab Inc., the family business is not threatened by the flooding.

There is now only one way in and one way out of my area.
This is going to be a real disaster for a lot of farmers also. Lots of fields with crops ruined. Going north on my road the road is closed down by the creek which runs on the east side of the road. On the west side of that road is a big corn field and one can only see the tassels of the stalks that are still standing.
10 1/2″ total over the last three days according to my rain gauge. We got 2 1/2″ between 2 AM and about 10 AM this morning.
NOAA says this is a 1 in a thousand year event.
We got a break and it appears we will not get anymore rain today. The cells coming in from IL broke up as they approached our area and for the first time in three days I can see the sun setting. But the weather app on my phone still shows an 85% chance of rain tomorrow. I hope that changes.
Some roads that were closed are now open and some that are marked closed shouldn’t be. I went and got carry out from Art’s pizza from their store on the bypass for dinner (Sausage and mushroom with extra cheese). On the way back instead of taking the long way around I decided to take a road that was marked closed. I got through with no problem. Only 2″ of water flowing over the road in one place about 15′ wide.

COMMENTARY FOR ACTS 17
Paul at Thessalonica. (1-9) The noble conduct of the Bereans. (10-15) Paul at Athens. (16-21) He preaches there. (22-31) The scornful conduct of the Athenians. (32-34)
1-9 The drift and scope of Paul’s preaching and arguing, was to prove that Jesus is the Christ. He must needs suffer for us, because he could not otherwise purchase our redemption for us; and he must needs have risen again, because he could not otherwise apply the redemption to us. We are to preach concerning Jesus that he is Christ; therefore we may hope to be saved by him, and are bound to be ruled by him. The unbelieving Jews were angry, because the apostles preached to the Gentiles, that they might be saved. How strange it is, that men should grudge others the privileges they will not themselves accept! Neither rulers nor people need be troubled at the increase of real Christians, even though turbulent spirits should make religion the pretext for evil designs. Of such let us beware, from such let us withdraw, that we may show a desire to act aright in society, while we claim our right to worship God according to our consciences.
10-15 The Jews in Berea applied seriously to the study of the word preached unto them. They not only heard Paul preach on the sabbath, but daily searched the Scriptures, and compared what they read with the facts related to them. The doctrine of Christ does not fear inquiry; advocates for his cause desire no more than that people will fully and fairly examine whether things are so or not. Those are truly noble, and likely to be more and more so, who make the Scriptures their rule, and consult them accordingly. May all the hearers of the gospel become like those of Berea, receiving the word with readiness of mind, and searching the Scriptures daily, whether the things preached to them are so.
16-21 Athens was then famed for polite learning, philosophy, and the fine arts; but none are more childish and superstitious, more impious, or more credulous, than some persons, deemed eminent for learning and ability. It was wholly given to idolatry. The zealous advocate for the cause of Christ will be ready to plead for it in all companies, as occasion offers. Most of these learned men took no notice of Paul; but some, whose principles were the most directly contrary to Christianity, made remarks upon him. The apostle ever dwelt upon two points, which are indeed the principal doctrines of Christianity, Christ and a future state; Christ our way, and heaven our end. They looked on this as very different from the knowledge for many ages taught and professed at Athens; they desire to know more of it, but only because it was new and strange. They led him to the place where judges sat who inquired into such matters. They asked about Paul’s doctrine, not because it was good, but because it was new. Great talkers are always busy-bodies. They spend their time in nothing else, and a very uncomfortable account they have to give of their time who thus spend it. Time is precious, and we are concerned to employ it well, because eternity depends upon it, but much is wasted in unprofitable conversation.
22-31 Here we have a sermon to heathens, who worshipped false gods, and were without the true God in the world; and to them the scope of the discourse was different from what the apostle preached to the Jews. In the latter case, his business was to lead his hearers by prophecies and miracles to the knowledge of the Redeemer, and faith in him; in the former, it was to lead them, by the common works of providence, to know the Creator, and worship Him. The apostle spoke of an altar he had seen, with the inscription, “TO THE UNKNOWN GOD.” This fact is stated by many writers. After multiplying their idols to the utmost, some at Athens thought there was another god of whom they had no knowledge. And are there not many now called Christians, who are zealous in their devotions, yet the great object of their worship is to them an unknown God? Observe what glorious things Paul here says of that God whom he served, and would have them to serve. The Lord had long borne with idolatry, but the times of this ignorance were now ending, and by his servants he now commanded all men every where to repent of their idolatry. Each sect of the learned men would feel themselves powerfully affected by the apostle’s discourse, which tended to show the emptiness or falsity of their doctrines.
32-34 The apostle was treated with more outward civility at Athens than in some other places; but none more despised his doctrine, or treated it with more indifference. Of all subjects, that which deserves the most attention gains the least. But those who scorn, will have to bear the consequences, and the word will never be useless. Some will be found, who cleave to the Lord, and listen to his faithful servants. Considering the judgement to come, and Christ as our Judge, should urge all to repent of sin, and turn to Him. Whatever matter is used, all discourses must lead to Him, and show his authority; our salvation, and resurrection, come from and by Him.

Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.
