70 here, retired 10 (prematurely by 2 years) and I’m sitting on my driveway on Sunday night 88 degree heat listening to cicadas.
Saying a few words to the few folks who will pass by. Most everyone who is young with kiddos are getting ready for another work week-I’m sure most couples are both working.
I tolerate this heat at night because the sun has set and I can almost see my childhood friends and I running around the neighborhood playing hide and seek while the old folks sit on their porches.
Some are sipping lemonade or tea, some are sipping beer or bourbon-I guess even some of them have a glass of fairly decent water with a few precious cubes of ice, thanks to the ingenuity of the European ancestors of ours who made all this possible.
We must reject this takeover of our great republic by the forces of evil and malign foreigners with the help of our God.
