An exercise in faulty thinking.
25% increase in range isn’t going to get you across the Atlantic, let alone the Pacific.
F35 1000-1200 km combat radius, depending on variant.
Atlantic 2500-6500 km east west distances.
Pacific ~15,000 km north south greatest distance, ~20,000 km east west greatest distance.
Now you add a time in combat knob to range, also a likely slow travel when out of combat.
And did he just say that all the combat electronics can only be cooled properly in slow transit? 🤦♀️ That will decrease available time in combat too.
The Japanese aircraft all had much greater ranges than our comparable aircraft did in WWII. Usually based on the same tradeoffs that made the Zero a superb dogfighter but an easy target to shootdown. Built very light, no heavy crew protection, no rugged robust frame that can take tons of damage and keep flying. And not using self-sealing gas tanks, you can get much more fuel in the tank without all that rubber, but leaking gas will burn.
I wonder what other tradeoffs are in this design.
And he hints at a very likely problem. Moveable engine parts are very likely going to have a very short lifespan and require frequent, time consuming, replacement.
And finally, while this is only slightly relevant, I am so tired of hearing how the Enterprise’s dive bombers were ‘near empty’ on the fuel gauges while searching for the Japanese Carriers at Midway. Most had enough gas to find the carriers, bomb them, and get back to the ship and land. Two are known to have ditched just short of the ship afraid they did not have enough gas left to land.

BTW, the Dauntless Dive Bomber had a 360 km combat range with a 500 lb bomb and 280 km range with a 1000 lb bomb. Both bombs were used at Midway.
All you have to do is keep the tankers out of range!
Increasing the distance the tanker aircraft are by 25% from any point from which an enemy could launch an attack on them is significant.
As as for that trade off the Japanese made there was another important aspect that most that have not gotten into the details of the carrier operations of each side don’t know. US carrier aircraft were robust enough to be stored on the flight deck in most weather conditions. While Japanese carrier aircraft had to be stored below in the hanger deck in even moderately rough conditions.
This not only made it so a US Aircraft carrier of a given size could carry more spares than the Japanese equivalent, it allowed them to get more aircraft into operation more quickly.
Another factor was the US logistics as the war progressed. The Japanese high command could not conceive of logistical tails that were essentially like a sea going conveyor belt of supply ships and oilers/tankers that could keep multiple carrier task forces at sea in operations for extended periods. Not just fueling the ships, but providing everything needed for sustained operations. In the end the number of combat sorties that a carrier is capable of launching is dependent not just on the fuel for the ship but fuel and ordinance for the aircraft which are it’s only offensive weapons.
I would not assume there are tradeoffs without evidence.
I’ve designed lots of things. And tried modifying many more.
There are always tradeoffs. ALWAYS.
This article is all about how ingenuity is helping overcome one such trade off by modifying the machine in flight. But there are always many more.
And frankly there are very, very few things that are win-win.
And like the century of prior art he reports on, once you set things in stone, those modifications, while still possible, are severely restricted. Though there is more play possible in development than in production, that is still more restricted than in design.

French inventor and photographer (daguerreotype), dies at 63
Biography: Louis-Jacques Daguerre was a French artist and photographer, recognized primarily for his significant contributions to the field of photography. He is most famously known for developing the daguerreotype process of photography, which became the first commercially successful photographic process in the mid-19th century.
Before his adventures in photography, Daguerre was a skilled decorator and creator of theater sets, and was a pioneer in diorama presentation. His fascination with light effects on painted surfaces eventually led him towards experiments with light-sensitive chemicals, and the quest for a process to capture images permanently.
In the 1820s, Daguerre formed a partnership with Nicéphore Niépce, another pioneering French inventor, who had been working on early photographic processes. I had the pleasure to meet John Stephensen, a contemporary of Mel Blanc back in 2006-7. Stephensen was the voice for characters in Scooby Doo and Mr. Slate in the Flintstones. He was one funny character, sharp as a tack, and not afraid of voicing a character during church. Between the Pastor and John, Sunday service was a hoot.
Stephensen knew Blanc well and would tell many funny experiences he had working together. The one fact he mentioned to me that has stayed is that Mel Blanc was very very shy. During studio rehersals it a constant Jeckel and Hyde experience.
I loved being a kid watch cartoons Saturday morning. …..
The other thing was that Blanc and Stephensen would turn down roles if there was any inappropriate subjects covered or said. It had to be a positive experience for kids.

The Roman Martyrology commemorates today Sts. Rufina and Secunda, (d. 257), daughters of a wealthy Roman, who died as martyrs in Rome, Italy.

Rufina and Secunda were sisters and virgins of Rome. Their parents had betrothed them to Armentarius and Verinus, but they refused to marry, saying that they had consecrated their virginity to Jesus Christ. They were, therefore, apprehended during the reign of the Emperors Valerian and Gallienus. When Junius, the prefect, saw he could not shake their resolution either by promises or by threats, he first ordered Rufina to be beaten with rods. While she was being scourged, Secunda thus addressed the judge: “Why do you treat my sister thus honorably, but me dishonorably? Order us both to be scourged, since we both confess Christ to be God.” Enraged by these words, the judge ordered them both to be cast into a dark and fetid dungeon; immediately a bright light and a most sweet odor filled the prison. They were then shut up in a bath, the floor of which was made red-hot; but from this also they emerged unhurt. Next they were thrown into the Tiber with stones laid to their necks, but an angel saved them from the water, and they were finally beheaded ten miles out of the city on the Aurelian Way. Their bodies were buried by a matron named Plautilla, on her estate, and were afterwards translated into Rome, where they now repose in the Basilica of Constantine near the baptistery.

COMMENTARY FOR HEBREWS 12:28
An exhortation to be constant and persevere, The example of Christ is set forth, and the gracious design of God in all the sufferings believers endured. (1-11) Peace and holiness are recommended, with cautions against despising spiritual blessings. (12-17) The New Testament dispensation shown to be much more excellent than the Old. (18-29)
18-29 Mount Sinai, on which the Jewish church state was formed, was a mount such as might be touched, though forbidden to be so, a place that could be felt; so the Mosaic dispensation was much in outward and earthly things. The gospel state is kind and condescending, suited to our weak frame. Under the gospel all may come with boldness to God’s presence. But the most holy must despair, if judged by the holy law given from Sinai, without a Saviour. The gospel church is called Mount Zion; there believers have clearer views of heaven, and more heavenly tempers of soul. All the children of God are heirs, and every one has the privileges of the first-born. Let a soul be supposed to join that glorious assembly and church above, that is yet unacquainted with God, still carnally-minded, loving this present world and state of things, looking back to it with a lingering eye, full of pride and guile, filled with lusts; such a soul would seem to have mistaken its way, place, state, and company. It would be uneasy to itself and all about it. Christ is the Mediator of this new covenant, between God and man, to bring them together in this covenant; to keep them together; to plead with God for us, and to plead with us for God; and at length to bring God and his people together in heaven. This covenant is made firm by the blood of Christ sprinkled upon our consciences, as the blood of the sacrifice was sprinkled upon the altar and the victim. This blood of Christ speaks in behalf of sinners; it pleads not for vengeance, but for mercy. See then that you refuse not his gracious call and offered salvation. See that you do not refuse Him who speaketh from heaven, with infinite tenderness and love; for how can those escape, who turn from God in unbelief or apostacy, while he so graciously beseeches them to be reconciled, and to receive his everlasting favour! WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

His Grace is abundant in meekness
His strength is made perfect in weakness
Gladly glory in your infirmities
And do not fear any adversities
When you are torn and worn from battle

The bruises and scars from many wars
When you are dejected defeated and down
Remember God’s mercy will soon abound
He will carry you gently while you heal
The power of His Love you will surely feel
By the Grace of God you are who you are
His Grace imparted on you left no scar
You labored more abundantly than many
More than adequate which was plenty
By Grace you are saved thru Faith it is said
And not of yourself but a gift instead
One of many God bestows upon those
Who obey His commands even en throes
When you are weakened spiritually
Be rest assured of God’s right remedy
Nothing that happens is ever too large
Be still and know that He is in charge
By your side He will always be ready
To raise you right up and keep you steady
By Grace through Faith you belong to Him
A loving gift He confers not on a whim
