Used to take data on a sheet in rows and columns then go back to the computer to enter it. I had to enter it one way (say columns) and check it the other (rows). Else I would miss blatant errors. I could hit return instead of a decimal point and enter the rest and hit return again. And yet I would still miss that error.
And then using computer spellcheckers, it became too easy to teach the computer the wrong spelling and never catch my spelling error again.
Yeah. Like people using quite for quiet.

Oh yes, I have a theory that Team Trump, following the many leads from the anti-ICE demos and Antifa, picked up on the fact, probably from tracing and tracking the financing network and breaking their secure comms, that the commies were going to break cover this year and make their play. Maybe even well before then, because the Harris/Walz Presidency would have been an ideal environment to execute the transformation, given they both were closet commies.
Once they realised this, the campaign to freeze and fix the image of the Democrat Party as frightened fellow-travellers began, and we are now seeing the first phases. I’ve said it before, Trump’s Mid-term strategy, like his legislative strategy, has taken into account the anti-Trump elements and was never about beating the Democrats traditionally, (too easy for the RINO’s to sabotage) but destroying them as a political force.
If they try to fight the claims of a takeover then the names Mamdani and Spanberger will be invoked, as examples of a DSA takeover of NYC (with now Newsom’s similar commie housing legislation being suggested) and a person who lied about being a moderate, respectively.
The greatest irony is that this all could have been avoided if they hadn’t stolen the 2020 election. These internal stresses, caused by the friction between the Old Guard and the New, have been building for over a decade, and all the fraud did was make sure that when the two ideological tectonic plates finally slipped they were not in control of the country and the resultant earthquake would be far more destructive.
They are always stealing our elections.
And the effort has always encompassed all areas they control.
That idiotic phrase ‘if it’s not close, they can’t steal’ misses the point. It is always close somewhere. And they were always prepared to cheat wherever the opportunity presented itself.
But, they have been ramping up the scale of their cheating. It doesn’t even have to be close anymore. They can literally overcome 10+% election day victories.
Millions of phony votes put Biden in office. And an All of Government effort was used to suppress the truth.

IT’S REAL BAD.
The British government just came with a new bill that could throw parents 5 years in jail if they try to stop their child from wanting to change gender.
I had a look at what the new “Conversion Practices Bill” says.
And it’s WAY WORSE than you think.
Any “conduct” from a parent toward their child that causes the child to “believe that they have or do not have” a “particular” identity will be in violation of what they call “conversion practice”.
In other words, if the parents tell their child that they are either male or female and the parent is using what they call “coercive words” which causes what they define as “serious alarm” to the child that has a “substantial adverse effect” on the child’s day to day activities, this could then be enough to put a parent 5 years in prison.
PLUS an UNLIMITED FINE.
Years in prison and a limitless fine, where do they even come up with this? You just know that the activists will use this law to persecute and throw any parent in prison who is in opposition of woke gender ideology.
The state wants to take away parenting rights from the parents and have full control over children. This comes just days after Britain restarted trials where they will give puberty blockers to children as young as 11.
Britain is turning into a truly evil country at this point. This goes against all human rights.

Just one of millions of stories that sum up this attitude. A teacher from England, on an international teaching programme in Africa, is preparing to leave after her secondment is coming to an end. By the time the teacher from England is ready to say her final goodbyes the first shipment of books chairs, tables pens, paper etc had arrived from the States. The American teachers response was to phone home the at the first opportunity she had and tell her family the problem she faced. They organised events where people could donate books and anything useful and soon this drive spread, with neighbouring towns and churches getting involved. In the end they had enough to fully equipped the school and set up a library.
Same problem, but a different solution due to a different mindset.
Americans in general are extremely generous. What they disapprove of is tax theft for charity. Charity should be voluntary.

Yup, this story was told to me at a conference, as a counter to sneering liberal who was saying how the US ranked poorly for charitable donations. As she said, most US towns give more to those who are needy than big British cities.

When he got back after his first US trip he said to me, wide-eyed, “Frosty, you cannot believe what those guys have built from nothing in under 300 years! It’s totally amazing and I’m moving there”. He did and never looked back.
Canada was nearly as good 30 years ago when I moved here, but now how I wish I’d found a way to get to America instead. The last remaining hope for salvaging western civilization.

Thing is, I left many years ago.
In that case, if funds permit, I highly recommend a road trip vacation to as many states as possible for a refresh. Stay away from the bad parts of the Dem-run cities and focus on what those sanctimonious twats call “flyover America”. That’s where the men who just wanted to be left alone live with their family and friends in embracing and supportive communities.
Although I’m stuck in (once great) Canada, my work has taken me to many of those states over the last 30 years and my experiences have been totally positive, both in work and leisure.

In my view most cities are not safe. There are exceptions of course but since I come from a city that has a very high crime rate then I maybe biased.
It’s been a few years since our last trip. I don’t drive as much as I used to. Getting older does that.
Now we live in a peaceful area. Virtually no crime to speak of. Everyone is respectful and friendly.
No worries and thank you for the reply. I’m almost 70 so I get it re driving. I agree that larger cities have more dangerous areas. Varies by demographics and politics of course. And recently drugs and Islam seem to be impacting Democrat-run cities more.
However my experience has been that outside of those areas. America is as good as it gets.

Reading the comments on these posts begins, or helps maintain, the preference break that MAGA started and that is being fuelled by America-250 and the World Cup. Citizens are increasingly not afraid of voicing their vocal love of their country and the institutions are taking note. This surge helps blow away the noxious cloud of self-hate, division and guilt that the DS has been trying to cover the country with and is a critical component of their strategy to regain and retain power.
It reminds Americans that the Democrat Party only represent a minority in their country, whose voices have been over-amplified by decades of a media thoroughly captured by that party. The idea that these people are the majority is challenged and the cracks in the ideologically reinforced glass, that shielded this belief, start to spread (cf preference break), a process where the patriots have just been given a 14lbs sledge hammer with the words DSA engraved on its handle, being wielded by Trumpian hands.
All the above have reminded millions of apolitical Americans just what is at stake in the Mid-Terms, a feeling that will be fanned to a roaring fire by a campaign to successfully freeze and fix the image of the Democrat Party as Un-American (cue liberal heads exploding, but understood by those being targeted by it).
I’ll go further, much further than a few Europeans making videos about their anecdotal experiences, because for every one elevated by the media there are tens of thousands who’ve felt the same feelings expressed in the clips. These returnees will now be able to challenge the deceptive image portrayed about America that is relentless pushed by those in power. Not only that, they will be able to challenge the Liberals who have travelled to the States who reinforce the smear and, worst of all, the self-hating Americans who apologise for their ‘dreadful country at the moment’.
The cumulative effect on the countries of the returnees cannot be over-exaggerated, the MAGA franchise has just received hundreds of thousands of testimonials from people who will be unpaid spokespeople who will happily spread their message to millions of people, including those back in America.
Love of one’s country is the natural evolution from tribal loyalties, trying to go back to the former has resulted in the Liberals, who push this ‘progressive idea’, wasting most of the institutional power and influence they’ve accumulated (the only thing they’re truly good at). To understand why they invariably fail, just imagine a country where the ideals Republicans hold dear today had the same monopolistic control over every institution as the Liberals do now. You don’t need to because that was the US in the latter part of the 19th Century, where it took the first real strides towards its still dominant place on the world’s stage.

The United States is a constitutional republic, not a democracy. Today I’m going back to the original text of the Constitution to uncover what it actually says, and just as importantly, what it doesn’t.
The Constitution never mentions health, education, or retirement. The president was never meant to wield this much power. The Senate was never supposed to be directly elected. And the First Amendment almost wasn’t about free speech at all.
The Founding Fathers didn’t trust pure democracy. After 250 years, it’s pretty clear they were right.
Congress can pass any law and more importantly any regulation without having to prove that it is Constitutional.
Federal bureacrats can implement/enforce any law or regualtion without proving the implementaion is Constitutional.
Each and every one sucks a little more air out of liberty.
