Great idea! I remember those days – friend of my parents got her doctor to lie about how far along she was because she really wanted to go to Hawaii. She ended up delivering less than a week after she returned from her trip!

Laws VERY seldom are taken off the books… a good example is: there are still laws on the books that were passed when Benjamin Franklin was our Postmaster General…
A more current example: the Communist Control Act of 1954 outlawed the Communist Party in the USA, and ordered that it’s members could not serve in certain government capacities such as representative capacities. Yep this means communists can not legally be Senators or members of the House of Representatives…
I agree with you on the votes. And the ballot case (Watson v. Republican National Committee) hasn’t received much attention, given the other high profile cases this term.
The case involves the question of whether federal law requires that all ballots be cast or received by “election day,” thus barring the counting of any ballots that come in days later but which are postmarked on election day.
Another “well, we know the populace hates it, so let’s push it through the courts” abomination.
It all should be entirely done in one day- period.
In this day and age, there is no excuse. To not do this is to enable cheating.
Voting and getting this done, this isn’t rocket science, we all do far more complex things on a day to day basis.

I think one problem is some judges view the Constitution as a living document and should be interpreted considering today’s societal issues rather than the Original Intent of the founders.
That gives them a lot of leeway for subjective rulings.
We are seeing that more and more in the lower courts and with corrupted judges.
Truth of the matter is that we have a bunch of opinionated ass-holes who don’t give a damn about what the law or Constitution has to say about matters…
The “living Constitution” crap is just an excuse for not following the aforesaid document.

If the Constitution were a “living” document and can mean something different today than it did yesterday just because a judge feels that it should be that way, then the Constitution wouldn’t mean a darn thing. And a lot of judges (and a few on the Supreme Court) feel exactly that way. The law should be what they think it should be from day to day.
But the Constitution contains within it the means for it to be a “living” Constitution, and that is the Amendment process. If someone thinks some clause is out-of-date or should say something it does not quite say, then they are free to do all they can to get Congress motivated enough to pass an Amendment to change the Constitution and then to get the States motivated enough to ratify the Amendment. That is how the Constitution can be made a “living document” – get the whole country on board with making a needed change. If majorities agree, then it can be changed. If not, then that is too bad. The Constitution will not mean what those people or those judges want it to mean just because they think they are superior to everyone else.
The Amendment process is the “living” aspect to the Constitution, not the preferences of rogue judges who should never have passed law school.

A few will get slung off into space, but most will come along for the ride of their lives.

Here is the game plan that the forces against Trump will be using for the foreseeable future.
They will attempt to get you to make the perfect the enemy of the good.
Be it the freedom clowns and spending, the immigration hawks with H1B visas, the peace doves with timing, the cultural warriors with total bans of DEI/CRT, the neocons with war fighting, or the swamp dwellers with draining the swamp.
All of them will attempt to get you to believe on whatever issue is the issue of the day that it doesn’t go far enough or do enough. They will try to make you think that some sub issue of that issue is more important and should be handled first, that since the issue hasn’t been handled yet it won’t be, that we can’t do more than one thing, that so and so is a plant to stop the draining of the swamp, or that because it wasn’t 100% Trump lied. On every single issue, one or more groups will attempt this strategy.
You can’t allow them that power over you. If Trump secures the border and deports 2 million, don’t allow them to reduce that good by them saying well he didn’t deport 2.5 million, so he failed or lied.
You can’t allow them to use the perfect to void out the good in the coming months.
They will try. They already have with the CR and the H1b visa debates. It works, that is why they use it. You have to keep it in the front of your head on everything about to occur that half a loaf or hopefully in most cases 7/8ths a loaf is better than no loaf.
Do not allow them to gaslight you into thinking the good is the enemy of the perfect.
In the real world, most things are never perfect, but if we try real hard, we can get plenty of good accomplished in the coming 4 years.

The purpose and goals of President Trump are plainly visible by his actions and consistent: He is for the benefit first of the common PEOPLE of this country, then of the PEOPLE in the rest of the world. It is validating, even to our battered conservative skepticism.
The methods of his leadership are amazing. I still don’t get HOW he does it, or HOW he is able to get so much momentum going, but every day the momentum is growing. Everyone and every organization has their eyes opened every day — just by watching him. Even those who hate him, are biased against him, and want to see him gone — cannot ignore him. He lives rent free in their head, and they come around to seeing the universal principles by which he is operating. He hammers actions based on truth from one direction, then another, and they cannot mount an organized opposition against him.
President Trump is transparent in his words and actions. He is consistent in what he says, what he does, and what he asks/demands of others. His promises are bold and he keeps them like no other president has. He continues to make massive, nearly overnight changes, not only in our country, but in the world. It is amazing that he is able to accomplish so much when there are so many snakes in the grass. This second term, he is weeding them out faster and choosing like-minded servants who multiply his effectiveness. No U.S. president has ever faced so much organized resistance and treason than President Trump
He has chosen to use his intellect and every skill he has to do what is right. He has tremendous faith that he can make a difference in this world. He has a confidence and courage such that he doesn’t care what others think, yet a humility to know he has to do it with the help of like minded people. Those people are the “common” people, and he ridicules those who think they are not common. He does not show humility before men, but his actions show humility before God.
He believes people are basically good. He believes that God is real. He believes that healthy people are happy people, and they need to be able to create wealth freely for their labor, and have the freedom to spend their money on what is good for them.
He believes the United States, with its Constitutional Republic, is the best environment in the world to enable and give opportunity for people to be happy and prosperous.
He believes that we can be a light for the world, but we must demand that the rest of the world respect us and our right to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.
He believes the enemy of our country are the stupid, greedy American people who have been selfishly taking advantage of this country; who betrayed the trust and obedience of its people; and who diverted the people’s wealth for their own selfish gain, at the expense of the principles of this country. He’s not going to allow that anymore. He is not afraid to call out our enemies.
He has cultivated and focused the family of MAGA. Identifying those people whose goodness, industriousness, trust, and obedience have been taken advantage of and abused. He has opened our eyes to this abuse, and to the rights of freedom and self determination that have been quietly stolen from us.
He has rekindled the same healthy distrust held by our founders of government and men with too much power. He has recultivated the desire to reclaim our freedoms and rights, and is empowering us with a hope and pathway to reclaim our spiritual and economic freedom.

He believes that nations who treat their people well will also be good economic neighbors with us.
He is convincing those who are very wealthy (most of whom truly earned their money), that the best economic soil in which to build wealth is in a constitutional republic, which supports the ability of the common man to earn wealth in proportion to his efforts. The economic engine of the United States is the human spirit freed to enjoy the fruits of honest labor, and that engine has more natural and raw horsepower than any other governed economy.
The Trump Train seems to be remarkably aligned with universal principles of Truth, which reflect the will and design of our Creator, and are the best standard by which we should live. These same principles were what our country’s founders used to declare independence, and framed into the Constitution of this nation.
Our founders believed that a nation should preserve the right and freedom of an individual to seek, understand, and live by God’s principles. They believed that free individuals working together in humility would make a stronger nation than a government which dictates its will on the people. President Trump professes and seeks to lead and restore this nation back to these same principles.
These principles resonate deeply within all human beings, down to our DNA in every cell, in our spirits, and produce fruit that “miraculously” multiplies. Because we follow universal principles, we see the snowballing acceleration of momentum. Lord please bring your power and might in the daily working of this sacred Nation you gave us.

I remember researching a little about the “Cult” Tulsi grew up in when she was running for POTUS in 2016. Their beliefs were very family oriented IIRC, they believed in marriage between a man and a woman and were not supportive of same sex coupling or relations. And on the oil sales: sanctions are still in place; they’ve just slapped a 60-day waiver on them. This lets the regime sell crude oil and petrochemical products, but only in dollars. It’s a very very important detail here, it means US have full visibility over the transaction, and can actually control it if needed.
These transactions don’t happen instantly, they take 40-50 days to process. And throughout that whole period, if the regime steps out of line, Trump can block the payments with a single move.

As long as we don’t have to pay their pension plans. My pension plan is about wiped out and I am just 70 years old. I make $1300 in Social Security a month. I have three more years to pay on my car and I have to put my DISH TV (lowest rung) on vacation for six months out of the year just to afford insurance. My deficit is about $250/month if I want to eat. I served in the military and Civil Service for 15 years of my life and worked in doctor’s offices and hospitals for minimum wage the rest of the time. My husband is dead and cannot bring in anymore money. Someone is going to have to do something soon or there are going to be millions of us on the street. I hope someone is thinking of this matter. It isn’t going to make me vote democrat in the midterms – it may make it difficult for me to vote at all as I may have no address . . .

Go personally to your local social security office and explain your situation and see if there are any other programs/options that you are entitled too.
One thing I’ve learned there myself is that it’s a fluid situation, things are constantly changing, programs come and go with each new President and some workers know more than other workers. The systems are so complex now that unfortunately, the level of quality help we get from these people is entirely related to how well the person we happen to get knows their jobs.
If you don’t like what they say, wait a week, go back and hear what another has to say. It’s crazy that this is necessary but you’ll be surprised if you try it what the variety of responses can be to your situation.
I’d be surprised if there is nothing that can be done to further help you.
There are certainly MANY paths, programs and options and of course we don’t know what they are and it takes them a while to know it all too. Go speak with them..

Joan, if you worked for civil service for 15 years you should be eligible for a civil service pension in addition to Social Security. And, just a few years ago they repealed both the WEP and GPO offsets (if that blocked any additional benefits). Maybe there is more due you. Check into it.

Do you know how a new product or a new business comes out, it’s great at first, they make it awesome and cheap to build a customer base. I believe that you are correct. The only question for me is whether this is an intentional sell out on their part or not.
In the current environment, where the database and foundation of the informational battlespace is directly controlled by, and accessible to the people who wish to enslave us, exactly how hard is it for them to manipulate, blackmail, or outright purchase these people.
I do think in Tucker’s case he probably lies to himself, in order to feel better about selling out, but in Levin’s I think he has always been quite comfortable with the sell out, the difference being that Tucker has never seemed like he possesses a strong ability of discernment, while Levin seems he does.

Ever more rarely turning on the tv to check the news! One of the beautiful things I would regularly see in Alaska is the pastels created as the sun crept up into the sky.
Unlike here in TN, Fairbanks had evergreens or white barked trees, aspen or birch.
And this beautiful gold color would descend the white trunks of those trees.
And that is something these beautiful pictures do not get right. As the sun rises, its light descends into the valleys. (Or ascends to the peaks as it sets.) There is always a sun just at the top of a distant hill. But its light always goes deep into the valley.
I at first wondered if this was do to the artist just taking too long to fill in the details. Very few of us can paint quickly like that guy on the PBS show. Might it be better to capture reality in a picture, and then paint that.
But I’ve decided that it is intentional. These works are meant to soothe. And they repeat the same tropes that elicit this response again and again.
So I have given up on wondering where they are. Or even bothering to look at the shadows compared to the suns location.

I ran across something I didn’t know about George Washington I thought was interesting.
He was against a two party political system and felt the country should exist without the existence of political parties.
In his 1796 Farewell Address he stated:

He said a lot more on how a two party system could harm the country and believed voting on individuals based on beliefs and policies would be better than voting based on party.
Interesting to me how he saw the divisiveness of a two party system and that was before the overwhelming corruption of institutions and media.

A day or so after some of the details of the Memorandum of Understanding started coming out I came across an article that went into greater detail about some of the vagueness of the memorandum. One of the vagueness was;
“The Memorandum of Understanding says Washington undertakes with regional partners to develop a definitive mutually agreed plan with at least $300 billion for the reconstruction and economic development of Iran. The text does not say who will contribute to the fund.”
The article went on to explain that the Memorandum of Understanding did not spell out What Recourse was available to Iran in the event that Washington and the regional partners failed to deliver those funds.
The article also listed some more vagueness about the amount that would be released at what steps in the process.
Normally I am very good about copying articles like that into the Pages Document (iPhone version of Word Document. However I must have accidentally closed that particular web page. Now, no matter how I word the query I can only find articles about the Who and absolutely nothing on the Recourse.
