President Trump has announced current Southern District of New York U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton for the position of Director of National Intelligence. [Truth Social] This nomination would seem to officially moot ADNI Bill Pulte.
Jay Clayton is a fellow alumnus along with President Trump from the University of Pennsylvania (undergraduate ’88, and law school ’93).
Clayton also was the signatory for the Nicholas Maduro indictment in his USAO position in New York. Clayton was prosecuting the case.
While Clayton holds national security clearances, his nomination position would seemingly ensure Deputy DNI Aaron Lukas remains in position – per statutory guidelines for military intelligence, or similar, requirement within the ODNI office.
[NOTE: Depending on Clayton’s current intelligence status]
PRESIDENT TRUMP – “I am pleased to announce the Nomination of very Highly Respected Jay Clayton, former Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, the former Head of Sullivan & Cromwell, one of the most prominent and successful Law Firms anywhere in the World, and the current United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, to be the next Director of National Intelligence and, importantly, to serve in my Cabinet. Few people anywhere in the Legal Community are respected at the level of Jay. I encourage the United States Senate to confirm Jay as soon as possible. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
There is a possibility this nomination announcement could change the dynamic in the Senate, where the previous FISA (702) reauthorization bill from the House currently resides.
Jay Clayton was not previously friendly to Cryptocurrency in the position of SEC Chair.
By nominating Clayton, Trump shifts from an acting chief with no intelligence experience to a nominee with extensive legal and regulatory credentials. The move follows mounting pressure from lawmakers to resolve the FISA stalemate and install a confirmed leader at the DNI. It also reflects Trump’s pattern of selecting figures he views as trusted allies with experience in high-profile legal roles.
With the House rejecting a short-term FISA extension and many lawmakers out of Washington, the Senate must address Clayton’s confirmation alongside the urgent need to renew surveillance powers. The compressed schedule risks both issues remaining unresolved before the program lapses. The overlap of leadership transition and legislative deadline underscores the political and operational pressure on Congress. (source)

So Sundance….is he in the same mold as Tulsi …or will he be a typical odni and leave the IC alone??
No one is. That woman endured the worst the leaky IC could throw at her and knew exactly what to target.
Everything that I have read leads me to believe that her moral compass has always been strong. Some folks are forged by fire. Being placed on the TSA watchlist was an act of desperate buffoonery. President Trump is strategic with his choices. Recall how Secretary Rubio sailed through the confirmation process, has surprised most of us with his accomplishments, and has now fallen out of favor with many in the senate. I am guardedly optimistic with this pick.
Excellent point.
Tulsi’s “moral compass has always been strong..” and yet she was a staunch democrat for most of her adult life. There’s a paradox if I ever saw one.
Remember that back in the day even our very stable genius, President Trump, was a democrat, as was Reagan.
It seems clear to me that *both* political parties pander to our emotions in order to override critical thinking. Some people snap out it, like the MAGA strong, but it is always a rude awakening. And even then we can lapse into emotional blackmail now and again.
Tulsi broke with the DNC and was punished by the no fly list. I wonder what was President Trump’s rude awakening? 9/11?
Even RFK Jr dances with MAGA over his aversion to poisoning our children, but he still can’t seem to get that ’emotional’ democrat completely out of his system.
With President Trump it is more nuanced. He was always a take-no-prisoners businessman, but his heart now seems to be in just the right place. He cares not only about his own freedom, but ours too.
That’s what I call a moral compass.
Yep, she had an axe to grind.
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned is very true
Damn straight; a true American soldier.
He’s a little like Ratcliffe.
ugh.
So we can expect no further progress reforming the IC
That’s not good
I was afraid of that.
That’s unfortunate.
“A little like” could be “mostly different”.
And If I was PDJT, nominating Pulte was a disliked distraction so that when Jay Clayton is nominated all the self important people breath a sigh of relief and “like” him a lot, compared to Pulte.
Possible it was strategic
“A little like” just means fewer appearances on ‘Mornings with Maria.’
A swamp creature. All President Trump has to do is keep Bill Pulte as ACTING DNI.
When the corrupt Senate goes crazy and refuses to approve Bill Pulte that means he’s the one to lead the DNI.
BTW the Republicans approved Tulsi and soon they’re going to approve Cayton.
We the American people are so screwed.
Why is PT doing this?
😢
Like, invisible?
Was this a Susie Wiles move?
Well that’s disappointing.
The first congratulations I saw was from Bondi. That’s not a good sign IMO
Dang! I wish you’d said he’s “a little like Tulsi”.
🤦♂️
Ms Gabbard had the quiet fortitude of an expert sniper…..I haven’t seen that in Ratcliffe but I’m certainly not privy to all that goes on in that silo…..and SDNY is too close to the swamp for my liking…..surely there is just as qualified a person in the south or west.
At any rate, I hope her changes made in the IC community remain. Time will tell.
✝️😉🇺🇲
🎯
But Ratcliffe’s deputy is out to use the CIA to expose its wrong doing of the past.
A placeholder? Going after the deep state doesn’t seem to be this version of PT’s priority
I would like to hear her opinion.
Thune likes him – hard for me to get excited about the nomination. What am I missing?
I wish I saw your post before I posted mine. If Thune likes him, it’s a bad pick.
😢
Trump doesn’t do anything that doesn’t net him 5 wins. Just because we can’t see the game board doesn’t mean what he’s done is a bad move.
This guy is a lawyer.
Having a clearance does not make you experienced in the intelligence sector.
But, as a lawyer, he knows the law and is able to identifiy the persons who have committed treason, etc. in or around the intelligence sector. 2.5 years to get the cases correct for justice to be served.
This would be the only reason I would hope he is more than just another placeholder.
Clayton was in charge at Sullivan and Cromwell, as spook law firm. A Wall Street lawyer like the bunch that started the OSS and the CIA. He’s trouble.
Yeah – he’s playing 5D Chess. I’m just to ignorant to be able to understand all of this. And heck even Thom Tillis says he’s good.
5 wins for who? Cause it sure hasn’t been us.
Maybe in exchange for passing The Save Act?
Well it would seem that the FISA 702 cannot be renewed by the swamp unless they ensure that a fellow traveler (not like Tulsi) takes over at ODNI. The traitors will certainly not nominate their nemeses to this important position.
I would think that President Trump needs another Tulsi in order to drain the swamp. But if he keeps the acting ODNI in that position then the swamp will neuter him by not renewing FISA 702.
If Thune likes him, that’s not a good sign. I was much more excited about Pulte taking over, judging by the hyperventilating of the uniparty creeps.
Could be Thune likes anyone other then Pulte
Yeah. As long as Thune doesn’t have to demonstrate bold leadership on any subject, I’m with you on this one.
I was thinking that too… an “anyone but Trump’s first choice” TDS-induced myopathy/ blindness might be working to our advantage.
No doubt Dir. Pulte will share his extensive DOGE’d financial-paper-trail files as an open book with whoever takes the DNI position – be it himself as acting OR whoever is confirmed to the position officially.
Nothing can stop what’s coming.
LOL… well… other than what has stopped what shoulda been coming…
Right – today everything is stopped and nothing else is ever going to happen. All is finished now, nothing whatsoever will unfold or come to Light or be reckoned after today. All that will ever happen has already happened. **Trump is all finished now**.
Good to be clear.
lol ! 🙂
😜
My understanding is Deputy DNI Aaron Lukas has played a major role in Director Gabbard’s success, so I’m wondering if Mr. Clayton might be looking to continue with that method of operation. Lukas is an insider who knows where a lot of ‘the bodies are buried.’
always judge a pol by his friends and enemies…
I kinda felt this way about Little Marco and I was pleasantly surprised. One can pray!
Exactly. When will people learn to trust this guy?
Unfortunately, I think he holds Susie Wiles in too high exteem.
Yea but could this be a back door deal? It was ODD that Susan Collins changed her no vote on the SAVE ACT, to a yes vote. Anyone reckon that in the long meeting they had yesterday, Trump agreed to nominate this guy, and Thune/Collins agreed to get the save act passed, by offering it in the BILL he did (I forget which bill it was) and Thune had to agree that if the senate parliamentarian struck it down, Thune would fire her. But lets get real, Thune directs her to do HIS WILL, else she knows she is without a job !! So, it might be the case, Thune has felt the heat, got Collins to deal for an ENDORSMENT and an AFFIRMITIVE Save Act Vote?
Honestly a No Pulte For SAVE ACT trade is one I’d buy.
First thing that came to my mind.
The only thing you might be missing is Brennan seems to like the pick too
😦
It might not be relevant, if Tulsi releases everything she has planned to release before she leaves, and if she has given the Miami Prosecutors all the info they need already. The Atlanta raid was because of her, but the DOJ has the case now.
As unpopular as Thune is, he may like this guy out of relief that he wasn’t going to get more bad press by rejecting Pulte (who Scott Bessent despises). It is always a good idea to color in the real likelihood that working under the auspices of DJ Trump will have a motivating effect on a person. I expect great things of him, until proven otherwise.
This is what scares me about it, Thune making a statement that he’ll be right on it activates my spidey senses.
“Thune likes him –”
And this is fact?
I wonder if Thune might be playing a game of Secret Squirrel 3D Chess where he pretends to like the new DNI…….in hopes that the new DNI won’t pay as close attention to any on the senator’s extracurricular business activities. (not that any senator has ever had any extracurricular activities going on while serving as a US Senator)/
Leadership from Trump WRT the FBI and IC, that’s what you are missing.
The next President will be boot stomped by the FBI and IC if Trump doesn’t fix the problem now.
Under Jay Clayton’s watch – “The United States Department of Justice unsealed a major indictment in New York against Sinaloa Governor Rubén Rocha Moya and nine other current and former Mexican officials. They are charged with accepting millions in bribes from the Sinaloa Cartel (specifically “Los Chapitos” faction) to protect drug operations.”
Having an experienced prosecutor given the information that Tulsi is about to unleash should be helpful.
I am thinking the same thing. The new DNI office has streamlined operations and figured out a process for requesting and obtaining the information it needs. Lucas will continue this and Clayton will look at it through the lens of a prosecutor. Most senators are not too bright. So I wouldn’t dwell too much on their opinions.
I’m more interested in the indictments of Clapper, Brennan and company.
You..bfkkb…never see that… I had high hope too…but something very strange happen after G7 meeting in the June 2025….
I pray you are right
Good point.
I can’t get past Southern District of NY.
Clayton definately doesn’t fit the mold for federal prosecutors in the SDNY. Not even close!
He came in on April 25, 2025, so I expect he was put there by Trump to clean house.
Waiting to see if the uniparty republican idiots like Thune start complaining about him. If the uniparty freaks out over this pick, than I’ll know it’s a great choice.
The more they freak out, the better he is.
I think sometimes their freak out is a show and they really know the person is an IC plant.
💯
Can’t believe how long it has been since I began seeing the capitol hill circus was a non-stop freak show.
God of power and might, heaven and earth are filled with your glory. Heavenly Father, please help us save our country. Please guide those in charge of critical duties according to your will.
In Jesus name we pray,
Amen.
Amen. As with everything, the more the U.S. moves closer to God through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the more blessing we will have.
All the problems in the U.S. can be attributed to our population moving away from Jesus.
AMEN!!! BINGO!!!
Today the US bishops formally consecrated the United States of America to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ. This is a great and powerful thing, and a happy surprise.
Amen to that
Amen.
Business as usual in DC. Pieces get shuffled and deals get made but We The People seem to always get the hose.
So Trump has chosen Pulte to be Acting DNI when Tulsi leaves.
But Trump has also nominated Clayton to be permanent DNI.
Unless Trump pulls Pulti as Acting DNI, Pulti would presumably be DNI in the interim between Tulsi and Clayton.
I look forward to Thune trying to get Clayton’s nomination through before Pulte takes over as Acting DNI.
Once Clayton is confirmed, Pulte would step down, but apparently Pulte having DNI authority for even a short time has a lot of Deep Staters nervous.
Tulsi’s resignation is effective June 30.
Should be entertaining to watch.
Heard the hearing for Clayton already scheduled for next Wednesday…
Yeaaaaaa! Giddy-up. 😎🎯
From the mouth of snake itself…
That’s funny.
Cottonmouth
<From the mouth of a snake itself>
Tom Cotton definitely has reptile dysfunction.
Worthy of WORDMAN. You get the WORDMAN award of the day.
I will try to be worthy of WORDMAN and continue to learn from the best. However, I feel there is room for two WORDMEN on a site this large and will be there to help support him while providing my own unique play on words and phrases as appropriate.
Mr. No recess appointments.
No “standing/speaking” filibuster. Will not replace the Senator Harry Reid appointed Parliamentarian. Will not end the infamous “Blue Slip” tradition, not a rule, in the Senate. The Republicans are weak and stupid!!
if cotton is happy, we’re in trouble
Welp. Tells me all I need to know. When Mark Warner appears without drool, it’s a bad day.
Uh Oh! Another strike against Clayton. I count three, SDNY, Thune and Cotton.
He’s out as far as my gut reaction is concerned, unless Tulsi supports his nomination.
They don’t seem to be in a hurry to confirm other nominees but Cotton says they can confirm him quickly.
Makes you wonder if they want him in before Tulsi’s official last day so he can stop her releases.
You’d think then Trump would also only put Clayton to appear once Senate Judiciary approves 30 US Attorneys…..has the Senate approved ANY US Attorneys in the last 6 months, or still 150 w empty offices???
Yes, the Senate confirmed 13 US Attorneys included in an ‘en bloc’ vote on May 18th, 2026. They confirmed 31 in 2025. So we’re up to 41 out of 93 USA’s.
That same en bloc vote also confirmed 8 US Marshals–the 1st marshals confirmed in PT’s second term. There are 94 US Marshal positions.
*rolling eyes* best to accept the body called Congress as it is (a Petri dish full of parasites) than what we hope it to be. Operation, don’t let the 4 years of Trump pass to go back to mold has begun.
Baby steps.
Things aren’t always as they seem.
I’m counting on it. Many things PDJT resonate as WTF, but as time goes on it shake out. I’m hoping that’s the case here.
this is making the case against clayton…
Crap
So it’s a let’s get Pulte outta there a quickly as possible game.. lol..
Ouch…..
🤢
this is from Uni – party guy which love wars/color revolutions more than miss linda….
Oh oh.
So Pulte will not be in the position at all, even for a short period of time? Sounds like the do nothing Senate all of a sudden has fire in the belly to rush through President Trump’s latest nominee? Too bad there’s dozens more still sitting on the sidelines waiting their turn!
Ugh. So Clayton is an “institution preservationist”… who does not intimidate the anti-Trump RINOs.
Wonder what President Trump’s strategy is with this choice…
(….and was he persuaded into agreeing with some compromise?).
Time will tell but it does not affect my 100% support of our President.
Tells us everything we need to know.
barf. Clayton must be status quo hack.
Tom Cotton likes him, so it sounds like a very bad pick. Groan.
https://x.com/SenTomCotton/status/2065162262780768570
The SDNY is nothing but rats like Comeys daughter.
Sorry but that corrupt NY institution has lost its luster years ago
Clayton took over as US Attorney for the SDNY on April 16, 2025, so he may actually have been the one cleaning the place out of people like Comey’s daughter.
“Trump has announced current Southern District of New York U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton for the position of Director of National Intelligence.”
I hope this means that Trump has selected someone from his inner NY circle of people that he trusts. Someone with knowledge of where the bodies are buried in that Den of Iniquity should be able to pick up where Tulsi left off, and continue cleaning house at the federal level by exposing the redacted corruption.
I am getting worn out…seems to me it’s “Trump all the time, every time, anytime, every time!”
The first crack that caught my attention was all that gold showing up on the walls, etc. inside the White House. Then the Iran problem–how it’s been handled has really taken me to a chiropractor due to being whip sawed in every direction. Even General Keane came on the TV today wearing a black suit, looking worn out, pleading for a resolution.
And now we have all these empty job positions in his inner circle. The flattery is out of control…just how much kissing does one person need, all the time! If this new guy for DNI is smart, he will tell the President to tone it down, stop talking all day, every day, to anyone close enough to pigeon hole for listening.
I will bet that right now, in some lonely office within the White House, is a speech writer who has been given the task to create a presentation by the President offering apologies for trying to give Iran a chance to make a deal, noting he made a serious mistake in stopping the attack on Iran. We might hear that speech after the November elections if and when the democrats clean house. He has given them so much fuel to achieve such a goal!
Just too much noise for me!
Have you considered bourbon?
Bourbon and General Keane could be toxic.
Why yes….as we speak it’s a tall Old Fashion….hold the water
Never Apologize! Ever!
That would be Gibb’s Rule #6–Never apologize, its a sign of weakness.
Why were you worried about gold in the White House? Making things look good shows respect for those things. That’s what quality people do and value.
The Liberal element, however, being derived from inferior morals and values, loves to live in filth, and their leaders make their homes look like it. c.f. LA and their beloved Mayor Bass.
In any event, you can rest assured that if there is any difference between what you think and what Trump thinks, that you are most certainly wrong.
Poor baby. Life is rough and then you die. Big sigh.
You could always move to Southern California. That might give you fodder for even more complaints.
This sounds to me like something from Maduro is central to what is going to happen in the next phase or two of releases.
This would leave a major opening in the Southern District of New York U.S. Attorney’s office.
?
Yes, and that is a very important US Attorney position.
Yes it is!
But of course Chairman of the Judiciary Committee Grassley is still ‘honoring’ the Blue Slip tradition for US District Judges, US Attorneys, and US Federal Marshals. So many of PT’s desired nominee choices are never even allowed to be voted on in the committee because the Democrat Senators in 25 states nix those choices.
? Lee Zeldin maybe.
Maureen Comey no longer seeking reinstatement to SDNY.
Yeah…but does Tulsi like this pick?
The infuriating thing to watch will be how the “World’s greatest deliberative body” speeds this through confirmation. They waste time on everything else, but when there is fear that they are personally exposed, they move with lightning speed.
They rush through the important jobs like Attorney General, SoS, and intelligence heads..
Not one of the 5 names leaked. First appoint Pulte and scare Thune and Cotton et al void of feces. Then the FISA issue to blame congress if something goes wrong, then nominate the guy you want who is less scarry than Pulte, and hold Thune accountable. Not tired of winning yet.
Yeah, I am still laughing at that list.
The issue with these picks is that President Trump has to use the roles to direct feckless Republicans. Like a sheep dog. Unfortunately these roles are critical to his agenda.
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2026/06/trump-announces-new-nominee-director-national-intelligence/
He has Thune backing him. Uh oh. Not a good choice.
Purple tie and charbucks cup.
Little signs.
I wonder how many pics were taken in that staged pose before they got the one they liked.
President Trump is THE disruptor!
How many in the government are lying awake, every night wondering what the heck he’s going to do next.
There’s some justice in that, or at least in my little mind.
We sleep great now😂
“President Trump’s incoming PERMANENT Director of National Intelligence was calling out California’s fraud and rigged elections”….
Sssshhhh!
Don’t tell Trump’s enemies like Schumer and Thune.
Sounds like Politics 101.
It could also be that Collins and Thune are worried about NAZI Platner.
I don’t think Thune is actually worried about Platner or losing the Senate. His McConnell’s puppet and you know they like being in the minority. Let’s them raise cash.
“His McConnell’s puppet and you know they like being in the minority. Let’s them raise cash.”
Sundance provided an explanation a few years back about how McConnell and his RINO buddies are basically lazy people who would rather avoid both the spotlight and making controversial decisions. They are quite content to sit back and be in the senate minority position, and only have to go with the democrat flow as they collect the cash that comes rolling in.
The “republicans” are paid to be the pretend opposition.
And it could be that Collins fears getting the corrupt election treatment like Pratt in LA.
I expect he is there to eventually eliminate the ODNI, a duplicative and unnecessary intelligence position.
Yeah, let’s move all control to the CIA like Warner and his DS buddies want.
Deep state buddies like Clayton??
Control should be with the President and his National Security Advisor Marco Rubio. The CIA and NSA reporting directly to the President via Rubio. All the other intelligence agencies should report to either the CIA, NSA or both.
Based on what SD has written extensively about how the ODNI is the only office that can be used to reach into the separate intelligence silos to reign in the deep state and based on what Tulsi’s done in that position, it seems to be very necessary.
That is why the Senate wants to roll back the powers of the DNI or eliminate the ODNI completely with the excuse is duplicative. No DNI before Tulsi ever used the power of the office to reign in the intelligence agencies.
“………..the ODNI is the only office that can be used to reach into the separate intelligence silos to reign in the deep state and based on what Tulsi’s done in that position, it seems to be very necessary.”
And now that the deep state has seen first hand what an American Patriot can do while holding that office we can be sure they will do everything possible to try and either eliminate or neutralize that office. Having a big gun is all fun and games until your enemy gets hold of the gun and turns it against you.
Yes, I’m wondering if Tulsi reigned them in and now (prosecutor) Clayton might be getting ready to lock ’em in the barn.
Agree!
Do you want another James Clapper in charge of ODNI when a Democrat becomes President? The ODNI has no authority to do anything to improve our security. It’s a wasteful expansion of Government and the Deep State. It reports, but does not resolve.
“The Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) can only be eliminated lawfully through legislative action by Congress to repeal the statutes that created it, specifically the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004 (IRTPA).
Because the ODNI and the position of the Director of National Intelligence are established by federal law (codified at 50 U.S.C. § 3021 et seq.), the President lacks the unilateral authority to abolish the office via executive order”
The Office and Position are statutory, but the staff are not and can be reduced substantially like the President has done with other agencies in the bloated Federal government.
Sometimes I think PDJT throws names out just to see what the reaction will be.
I’m going to miss Pulte.
He will still be in the Cabinet…
Ain’t nobody coming to save us. Not Trump. Not nobody. Trump’s presidency is just giving us a fighting chance. I don’t think MAGA quite gets that. The fight so far doesn’t have the urgency that five months from now and 24 months after that will be the best fighting chance we’re going to get. In these earthly bounds, anyways.
True dat. We have only a handful of MAGA in Congress after 5 election cycles since MAGA was created!
We have zero MAGA Governors and state legislatures.
We have zero MAGA news organizations.
We have Trump and that is it.
Not happy with Trump caving and Pulte being out as temp DNI, but I don’t know what I don’t know and I trust Trump knows what he’s doing.
Most assuredly we do not yet KNOW that it’s “caving.”
If the mad rush to confirm Clayton doesn’t work, Pulte could still be acting DNI as of 6/30. But it appears that Clayton will get confirmed before then.
Didn’t PT recently change the date of Pulte taking charge to June 19th instead of June 30th?
Am I the only one getting tired of seeing Swamp attorneys especially from the likes of the SDNY, pure leftists indoctrinated types that are a part of JUSTUS not Justice nominated to these places? I am 100%
Clayton only came in on 4/25/25 to the SDNY, no doubt to clean out that swamp.
Oh well President Trump screwed up. I love President Trump. Why can’t he just leave Bill Pulte as Acting DNI? Answer, of course Trump can.
Sundance seems to be stringing us along.
What BS.
Pulte can only stay for 210 days as Acting. Clayton has been nominated as permanent DNI.
President Trump should have never agreed to nominate Clayton.
President Trump could nominate Pulte again before 210 days. Senate doesn’t approve Pulte then the President can extend Pulte as Acting via the Acting Clause.
Really? On his important phone call making a DFWM (don’t F with me) stern face whilst holding his Starbucks, “I’m too busy to take a break.”
The photog just happened to be across the street, doncha know.
No commentary. Must be bad
I’m excited that Trump has made a choice no one expected and is someone with experience and desire to “clean things up”.
Either that or he is setting another trap. 🤣
This. Sucks.
only one question: where does Jay Clayton stand on FISA and 702.
for or against.
what is his constitutional interpretation that we can depend on.?
it’s a simple but very important question
God Bless America
I’d also be interested to hear what he thinks about J6.
two minds, twins

Your Words:
Ranked: Ellis, Crawford, Bishop.
Concerning: Stefanik, Chaffetz.
Best Route: Give strong weight to Tulsi Gabbard’s recommendation.
Also
“He’s a little like Radcliff?” which has some good moments and some bad moments.
And now he has Cottonmouths full endorsements.
So tell us straight, where does this guy fall on the ranking you gave above, and does he have Tulsis backing?
No more pretending, please.
It’s probably because Jay Clayton is a federal prosecutor and Tulsi has found a lot of targets that need to be prosecuted! Clayton would know the lay of the land very well and wouldn’t be easily led astray by FBI slow walking! 😉
Has Tulsi Gabbard posted any updates as to how her husband is doing after his surgery? Above and beyond all things political, this is a man fighting for his literal life, and the woman who loves him, standing by his side while he does so….
This seems to be a quid pro quo, esp with midterms approaching and thune sabotaging the president’s agenda as usual. An sec guy would have his lips glued to the backside of Kstreet lobbyists and beholden only to big money donors, not citizens of the Republic. There’s a squeeze here to ensure FISA is passed and this is the elitist to do it. The President surely gave up Pulte to get something in return, but lost my vote of confidence along the way.
God save the Republic
The Senate wants him confirmed next week! What happened to their slow, deliberative process?
They must have a vacation coming up.
Oh, look!, he’s wearing a PURPLE TIE from the exclusive “Gowdy / Chaffets Collection for RINO Scumbags”.
You noticed also….
Purple is the combination of RED (GOP) and BLUE (DEM).

Good. Replace faulty parts and reboot.
SDNY? really?
This outfit has a pretty sketchy record so far as i am concerned.
True, which is maybe why Trump appointed him. Clayton took over as US Attorney for the SDNY on April 16, 2025. Since then, he’s probably been cleaning the place out of people like Comey’s daughter.
Deleted…wrong thread.
Looks like a patsy to me. I want someone to fire people in the IC by the truckload.
FFS, even Jimmy Carter fired 30% of the CIA!
Not good. This nominee smacks of a recommendation from Susie Wiles and the GOP establishment. Might as well have put Bill Barr in. Shoots himself in the foot again. Nothing good can ever come from the SDNY.
I certainly hope Pulte is in an “acting” capacity long enough to I roll a few heads in the IC as the President wishes. 🤞
Makes you wonder if Pulte was put there so that the Congress would hasten Clayton’s confirmation?
Or… did Trump extract some votes on important legislation in exchange for effectively limiting Pulte’s time in power?
Well, here’s Mark Warner’s comment in the Daily Caller:
Democratic Virginia Sen. Mark Warner said Clayton is “very qualified,” but also criticized Trump’s timing.
“He’s very qualified. I have no idea why the president didn’t nominate him yesterday, we could have found a path and Director Gabbard could have stayed on until he was confirmed. Now the House is out of session.”
And Thune’s:
Thune also told reporters that he would have preferred that Trump made the nomination earlier so the chamber could have reached a bipartisan deal on extending Section 702.
Well Senators Thune and Warner, maybe the Senate and House should actually stay in session on Fridays and work a full 5 day work week instead of working a half day on Mondays and leaving by 2pm on Thursdays!
The Senate has only been in session for 3 Fridays this year and one of those sessions was only an hour long! The other 2 Fridays were during budget Continuing Resolutions.
Shucks, The Senate was only in session for 8 days in the month of May and 4 of those days were only from 3.5 hours to 4.75 hours.
