VP Vance is nowhere near strong enough on Iran. He sounds so weak and it appears he wants to negotiate until we lose all leverage. I would not be surprised if the VP is partially the reason for all of this dalliance.
I think the country would be much safer in Rubio’s hands. These tyrants only understand strength and solid vows. They have been playing us like a fiddle.
In case you are wondering. I am not in favor of war for war’s sake. Iran has been threatening us for years and have used their proxy terrorists against us. If you do declare military action, you don’t just stop suddenly while you are winning and you don’t let the enemy sidetrack you with false hope of their surrender.
@CTHFan: “There might well be more strategy at work here than you think.” Bombs are not the only answer – particularly when Arab sensibilities are involved. Remember to read your Bible: these people have been neighbors for centuries. They are inscrutable.
I acknowledge that the strategy is unconventional. But there are a lot of ways to define “winning,” and I think that we should just watch this thing play out. This is Chess.
He answered well when asked if the Iranians were stringing us along. He said “Well, we don’t know until we know”. Which means it is likely being watched for.
Given that this mess with Iran has been going on for 47 years, I’d say that we do know what we know..
There is a 47 year pattern to look at in addition to a long history in that region.
IMHO, a muslim will find other muslims more compatible, be they Sunni, Shia or Wahabi…and will side with them every time, so this is delicate to a point…tribal loyalties…IMHO…
I just wonder how long the deals 47 made, will last…not trying to be a downer but the cultures well, speak for themselves…
I hope I am proven wrong….
>> Bombs are not the only answer
I certainly agree. Neutralizing the IRGC is not the only answer either, but it is probably closer to ‘the answer’ than [arial] bombs.
President Trump didn’t “stop suddenly.”
President Trump paused at a “rest area” along the road right before reaching “Total Annihilation.”
He’s giving the Iranians their last chance to live. I have no problem with that.
Our President yearns for peace and security but is willing to go to war if peace and security are not possible.
It’s a refreshing change from the bloodthirsty ghouls in the NeoCon ranks (looking at you Miss Lindsay) who just love to feed warm bodies into the Forever Wars Meat Grinder.
Because they/he make forever money!!!
I not sure this is about Iran, it’s about us.
He’s waiting until WE are so squeezed and sick of it all that we ourselves collectively demand they are wiped off the face of the planet, this gives the President cover, we told him to do it and he works for us so he did it.
See how that works?
Sorry, but I think you way underestimate the problem of achieving the result you want. I discount the cheerleading from Hegseth. I see a high likelihood that Iran has continued to possess a massive counter-strike capability against the Gulfies and Israel.
Vance is giving the administration’s position here, not announcing private views, which means that he is presenting the position of the president on these matters. So if you think the position presented, that we prefer negotiated solutions, where possible, over bombing, is weak, then your criticism is of the president, not his messenger in this instance, the vice president.
The president has always indicated a willingness to talk, not to just “keep on bombing until the other side yells ‘uncle’.” If you’ve actually followed the president on this issue, then you should know that Vance is reflecting the administration position. But don’t parse what is being presented. A ceasefire that is strangling Iran’s economy is hardly weak. A promise of a return to kinetic action if the Iranians keep dragging this out is hardly weak. And finally, unless you want to see a situation where the U.S. has to extract the nuclear dust in question unilaterally, requiring boots on the ground and constant military action to keep terrorists engaged while that happens, then of course the preferred position is to reach this through negotiation while reserving active military engagement as an alternative. That is not weak, it is just being pragmatic.
J
It’s Rubio for us!
I’m sure JD is a nice guy etc. but he is a novice.
This is no time for that.
Not happy with his comments on Ilhan Omar and their “investigation” on her.
Sounds like another nothing burger!
Omar should never have been allowed to run for office in the first place.
Ilhan Omar should never have been allowed into the USA. She apparently tagged along with an unrelated family to gain entrance.
“Running and winning” implies she earned it. I really can’t imagine she’s earned anything in her life. Everything has been handed to her, including her position.
You can’t help but think that Karoline leaves some pretty big heels to fill when the VEEP and cabinet officials are subbing in her absence…. 🙂
Rubio would do well to try them on 😉
Thank you Sundance!
We are so grateful for this administration.
Thank God and have patience, God will be with us always.✝️🇺🇸🦅💥❤️
The more I see of JD Vance, the more I see limp.
I suspect that President Trump is pushing for a negotiated settlement and an off-ramp. Having VP Vance throw gasoline on the fire isn’t going to help reach the goal of ending this. 😎
Gabbard/Rubio or Rubio/ Gabbart
Hegseth / Gabbard or vice versa
Rubio /Hegseth 🔥🔥🔥
In the end , Vance is Peter Thiel and Palantir, AI, etc and Rubio was on the Senate Intelligence and Foreign Affairs committees, why hasn’t he come forward with all he knows about them stealing the election from Pres. Trump and other nefarious activities? He knows a lot more then he lets on and that is being said while I think he has a done a good job.
The deep state needed to be destroyed and I am not sure what side Rubio is really on. They all play roles to keep their grift going.
Gabbard-Hageman
Oh, that would be a team to be reckoned with.
Another fan of Harriet, I see!
No women.
I want to see Harriet Hageman develop ambition for higher office!
My ideal presidential succession calendar: DJT/Vance –> (2024-2028); Vance/Rubio (2028-2036)–> Rubio/Hegseth (2036-2044)–> Hegseth/Gabbard (2044-2052) –> Gabbard/Barron Trump (2052-2060) = 40 years!
Unfortunately Vance is the Tech billionaires choice.
That doesn’t mean he will succeed PDJT.
Vance has to be careful to support PDJT without intersecting his own opinions. Remember too, he is barely half of Trump’s age and certainly far less experienced in politics and foreign policy.
Will Vance score higher or lower than Rubio for substituting for Leavitt?
He did a great job! 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Near the end he called out a reporter for making a speech instead of asking a question. He isn’t Trump, who would have said “stupid question”, but he did chide the reporter and others about this method that does no one any good.
I only saw the last 15 minutes and yes, he was well spoken, reasonable, and easy to understand.
I thought that VP Vance did an excellent job given the material he had to work with in front of an especially hostile news media that smells blood!
I agree. I’m not a Vance fan, but give credit where it’s due. He did a good job.
In a nutshell:
This deal, unlike the first Panama Canal Treaty….
this Iran deal about nukes…
needs to be “IN Perpetuity”…..
Pres Trump is trying as hard as he can to get the crazy Iranians to agree to a no nukes/no export terrorism/open the Strait deal without having to destroy their commercial and economic infrastructure completely.
I suspect he is very close to pulling the trigger. When he does, he wants to be able to objectively claim that he tried diplomatic channels….and even agreed to let Iran’s neighbors give it a shot…..so that when Iran is bombed back into the 14th century, it can’t be credibly claimed that he didn’t try.
Unleaded gas is expensive now, hopefully temporarily. Just curious how expensive per gallon in Europe, Russia, Canada, and Japan? Anyone know?
https://www.globalpetrolprices.com/countries/
We just call it “gas.”
😂 🧯
Was $1.80 per litter here in Alberta today.
Trump is fighting Iran, the democrats, the press, and the old global order, yet his clear and present danger is none of them, it is instead the economy. This is why he has tried so hard to get a deal where he can declare his objectives have been achieved, and the shipping lanes open.
Economy….forget the coffee bean grower issues but consider this, by me in Walmart, the larger can of Folgers is 15.99.
In Jewel, an Albertsons business, the same can of Folgers is 24.99
How does that get explained?
A $9 dollar price difference?
Seems like “grounds” for an investigation!
Stop drinking coffee. Problem solved.
Nope. Not.Gonna.Happen.
Folgers Classic Roast Medium Roast Ground Coffee, Limited Edition Canister for America’s 250th Anniversary, 40.3 oz

Merchant decisions to try to make profit on items that — in their best analysis — THEIR customers will pay.
Costco typically has the 2lb bag of Starbucks and Peets for around $18. You can get the dark or the medium roast (for sissies). Sometimes Costco has $5 off special.
Whenever I see Vance or Rubio, I just see contestants on “The Candidate” a reality show where two politicians do their best to earn the favor of the US President and the Republican voters.
I’ve always thought a show like that would be a much better way to inform while entertaining the viewers. Maybe more people would vote if they were all excited about the whole process. An American idol of politics where every week instead of singing they discus issues/news, come up with solutions, and the winner gets campaign money.
I would rather have a press conference with the former Ice Barbie, former South Dakota governor, cowgirl and alleged paramour of Corey Lew…you know his name. It’s a fact Kristy Noem was gone from the ranch so often doing governor work, did this late dog–obviously around her husband most of the time and may have “seen things a dog shouldn’t see?”
Was this a “hit” on Cricket due to what this dog knew about the governor’s husband–covered up by claiming he was a really bad and dangerous hunting dog? We have not seen nor heard from the former Ice Barbie ever since her husband’s exposed fetish issue. Will this self proclaimed Christian husband bounce back off the canvas ?
What did Cricket see and know, did this family pet expose Kristy’s husband’s fetish? Who else knew of this reality? Who gave the order to dispatch this pet? We deserve the answers; the Hot Air Balloon community has been smeared unfairly and this is more important than what JD just gave us in his press conference!
Prayers for Cricket is not enough!
Oh my. There are no words.
Completely irrelevant to anything important especially when ICE Barbie did the job President Trump wanted and we wanted unlike Bondi and Patel. Nobody cared about Corey and her husband.
Put the bong down…….
I got the responses I envisioned. Note how many posters have gone after VP Vance on this press conference. This style of nit picking is not productive in many ways. Allow me to clarify my thoughts on Gov. Noem. and some of the supporting thoughts that created my post.
The hit job done on Kristy Noem was ugly and intended to destroy her…which, sadly, it appears was effective.
When I was in the Dakotas ( circa 1997), I heard about those hunters who killed their dogs (in the field, while hunting): I asked why…normal behavior by some was the answer. If Noem’s husband has a serious fetish, he needs very serious attention. Mrs. Noem’s marriage is her business and no one else’s.
How many here recall the Thomas Eagleton episode?
I notice daily how many elected officials come forward demeaning President Trump’s efforts to deny Iran a nuclear bomb, etc. (to Iran’s glee) supported by media types along with so called influencers. “The enemy of my enemy is my friend” is at play big time! “The end justifies the means” runs with these groups.
I’ll take JD Vance over Kamala Harris, Kash Patel over James Comey, Marco Rubio over John Kerry and the list goes on and on. I will continue to support Donald Trump because he is creative with his hair and Melania has not left him! Put that in your bong and smoke it…
nfn, but all his wordsmithing isn’t going to save him in a general. Unless there’s a pitbull side of VP Vance we just haven’t seen, any of the likely dem candidates could smoke him on a debate stage. Local politics will help him, of course. But if the alter-ego of the Happy Professor does not emerge, I predict a real squeaker none the less.
Pshaw!
I’m at a loss to understand the bellyaching for how a VP performs in a role that absolutely REQUIRES him to reflect as close as possible the policies and preferences and even the attitude of POTUS 🙂
Ditto!
In a “normal” administration, some assistant to the Press Secretary would be thrown out there to do the briefing.
I thank God that we don’t have a “normal” President. Instead, God has given us our greatest President since Washington.
We get to hear from the top people in the Administration like Rubio and Vance. They are part of the inner circle and can speak authoritatively to the questions asked by the fake news media.
I love it.
VP JD Vance states DOJ is reviewing allegations of immigration fraud involving Rep. Ilhan Omar.
This is like when there is a substitute teacher in the classroom and all the students misbehave! That’s what we just saw!
JD is great!
I LOVE THIS GUY!!!
I particularly loved his quip that he told Caroline he would sub for her as long as she subbed for him as VP when Usha has baby #4.
