My mailbox is full from many of you concerned that the Democrats may actually try to retire the Virginia Supreme Court to pack it with activists who will reverse the redistricting decision. They will not do that. Primarily even if they wanted to, they are out of time.
The Department of Elections commissioner said in an affidavit that May 12 is the point of no return. Whatever maps they are using cannot be modified after May 12.
So even if the Democrats really attempted to try this ill-gotten plan, they would have to do it all before the end of the day tomorrow. It just can’t happen.
Cont…
a commissioner saying some stuff, and a date, has not necessarily stopped the marxists before.
They may get violent. Just like abused dogs can.
To expand on Sundance’s oft stated maxim, ‘The need for control is a reaction to fear’, aggression is also a reaction to fear.
The left is increasingly fearful, despite what some black-pill dispensers here may be peddling. Because the left abuses its base.
So plan on escalating aggression and violence as the fear rises.
They aren’t abused dogs, they’re rabid feral dogs by choice.
I don’t know what’s worse. Typical D卐M☭CRATz or Iranian leadership.
there’s a difference?
True.
From the tweet: “All we are watching is desperation manifest itself as the Democrats come to grip that there is no way to flip the House of Representatives this year.”
Never discount the willingness of the GOP to assist the dims in flipping the House of Representatives…….remember Paul Ryan (spit).
And Paul Ryan got his sister in law Jackson a supreme court lifetime position! Disgraceful and degenerate.
I wish they would all take their balls and go home.

Bravo!
Dear Mr. President,
I thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!
Suspending the gasoline tax should lead to cancelling it. Forever. It is just another kick-back B.S. tax for the benefit of elected thieves and criminals.
I suppose the usual a**joles will defy and defeat……..You are my hero.
HAPPY 250TH BIRTHDAY, MR. PRESIDENT.
Carry On, sir.
i would estimate it will take about a week for the price to fill the gap opened by suspending it. what is it, about 15-20 cents?
i just paid comfortably over 5/gal, albeit using premium because i don’t want any more ethanol polluting my engines than i am forced to by “our” government. i am likely to have to scale back to the regular 15% ethanol soon.
these are all gimmicks until the core issue in the middle east is addressed.
I have paid for non-ethanol for about 10 or so years now. I also use a line of products from the top synthetic lubricant company on the market: Amsoil. I do so to suspend costly vehicle repair bills. It works like a charm. I can use the money I save to buy high quality non-GMO, nontoxified vegetables and fruits. All-in-all, I am having a great life which includes fresh eggs and a serene landscape. Life is good.
My hope is that you are also enjoying a high quality life no matter what the current chaotic nature of political manipulation is throwing your way.
Happy 259th Birthday, fellow patriot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I dont know if that is a good idea or not. But I do appreciate Denise raising the point for consideration, and expect that if Our President hasnt consider it yet, he will. I believe the words posted here in Sundance’s Church are heard.
IL will just increase the state tax to compensate for the lost revenue.
Dear JustScott,
Thank you for giving me the credit, but Donald Trump is the genius that just petitioned Congress to act. Just like you, I sometimes have a brilliant idea, and then I see MY FAVORITE PRESIDENT has beat me to the draw!!! He has supernatural instincts.
Happy 250th Birthday, fellow patriot!
Check out my post about Indiana gas tax suspension further down thread. I used to work in industrial engine field service sales supporting the oil and gas industry. It was really bothering me why oil was set trading at roughly $106 a barrel – yet our local costs per gallon were so high. Refining costs money.. yes… but processes to refine have improved over time, not deteriorated (unless you want to talk about all the unnecessary capping of our wells which once the spigot is turned off – it’s not automatically turned back on – that why countries like Russia actually burn off their surplus instead of decommissioning their wells.)
https://www.resilience.org/stories/2020-05-28/shutting-down-oil-wells-a-risky-and-expensive-option/
Dear JWoo,
Thank you for the education. Your personal experience speaks volumes.
I was wondering how many remember the domestic terrorist practice of blowing up refineries, halting pipeline construction and drilling on American soil under the direction of past presidents. Very recently past presidents. I did the same thing then that I am doing now. I go to the pump and I fill it up.
Thank you so much for the conversation and Happy 250th Birthday to you!
It is a legitimate tax and in and of itself is not the problem.
It’s the taxation without representation that is the problem; the first and foremost problem with all of our taxes now, regardless of whether they are legitimate or not. Out of the 537 people that we supposedly elect to represent us at the federal level, I count Trump as the only guaranteed one to do so.
There may be a few others, but there are not many, and that is the main obstacle to overcome.
Would it not be fair to say, then, that the taxation burden applied liberally by our political betters, is nothing more than a confiscation of means of support? And this in order to confiscate by kick-back, the money earned by others?
And who can guarantee that it is being applied specifically as intended when we are now aware of the scope of government fraud and waste? By the same who institute the taxation?
I so appreciate our conversation. Thank you.
Taxation is theft, plain and simple…
Taxation without the consent of the governed is theft; with the consent of the governed it is a legitimate funding of our government.
The problem being of course that we have not followed the design of our Constitution for over a century and therefore have had our consent eliminated from the decision process.
It would be more than fair to say it would be truth. Taxation without the consent of the governed is theft.
I believe the revenue has been applied exactly as intended, as you say it is nothing more than a means of support, a means to further the political class’s own beds at our expense, and since the vast majority of our politician’s represent the people who have bought them, the outcome is exactly what they had in mind to begin with.
And cancel sales, property, plate tags, death, income, and all other taxes.
YAHOO!!! Now yer Talkin’!

You know, if it was me, I’d brief Warner on stockpiles of precision weapons but tell him the worst case scenario. Then when he leaks the information to try to undermine Trump and satisfy his paymasters he can be prosecuted.
It certainly would be one way for this treasonous snake to be skinned!
As I have said elsewhere: It is the responsibility of the Commander-in-Chief and his staff of very-senior officers to determine how the nation’s ammunition stocks are deployed. All information about stockpiles is, “of course, classified.”
But, how the hell are we supposed to believe(!) that this idiot knew anything? Why should we pay any attention to what he said? He just wants his “fifteen minutes.”
Anyhow – this joker needs to be decisively taken down. He is subject to the UCMJ, and is clearly and repeatedly violating it.
They used the Logan Act to remove Flynn. Please don’t reply that our side doesn’t stoop to that level. Horse puckey. It’s time to start if we don’t and bring it to the @$$ clowns now. Lawyers.
America is always the patsy when it comes to our tax dollars. Our govt. for decades has just poured them out to anyone who asks practically and apparently never followed up on where it went and who really got it all and never cared to it seems.
It’s beyond crazy that nobody minds the financial well being of the richest nation on earth. It truly is maddening and embarrassing that we the people have been abused like this. It really needs to stop. So glad DOGE opened the door on all the fraud committed against US taxpayers for so long. We have seen so much more since they clued us all in.
“For 350 million people, we were paying $500M a year”
That’s $1.428 million per person. With all due respect, Mr. President, give that money DIRECTLY TO ME and let’s see how life changing that would be!
This is outrageous. No wonder we have nothing left in our treasury for social security that we were forced to pay into for the last 89 years so that these a-holes had a slush fund the likes Bernie Madoff would have dreamed of. Probably where old Bernie learned his craft.
The waste just makes me ill.
Theft = I give yee government.
Math is hard.
jWOO…….THAT’S $1.43 …….
Lol… I stand corrected. My brain is mush.
But I’ll still take my $1.43…

Newsom has proclaimed the $20 million amount of taxpayer dollars being spent on diapers for (“birthright”) babies is a lie.
$7.5 million past year plus another $12.5 million this year.
Even with common core math, that’s $20 million.
One more reason that California is irredeemably dysfunctional.
Yes, absolutely….
Money Laundering.
Literal “Cradle to grave” government dependence.
This is the Left’s mission.
Just another benefit going to that grifter Biden.
Just give every family 10 cloth diapers.
Good for the environment don’t you know.
Disposable diapers are a giant SCAM in the first place… gov’t. disposable diapers is a TRIFECTA scam
(toxicity+Gov’t. interference+$$$laundering).
Cloth diapers are *soooo much Healthier AND less expensive* over the life of the infant – and they transfer on to subsequent babies… so the actual cost of cloth diapers goes down the longer they are used. ((…and the old-style flat ones become cleaning cloths when no longer serviceable as baby-bum wrappers))
Buy cloth diapers ONCE and spend literally nothing on diapers thereafter; cloth diapers is one of the most – if not THE most – thoughtful (*sane*) new baby gifts possible. Hand Made with Love is even better – so simple:
{ https://www.instructables.com/How-to-make-a-fitted-cloth-diaper-with-snaps/ }
The amount of pollution from paper diapers – both in Humans AND in landfills – is incalculable by now; it’s a combination of both chemical AND plastic pollution.
{ https://www.ewg.org/research/guide-safer-diapers } ((excerpted))
“In their first year alone, a baby will wear an estimated 2,500 disposable diapers.(linked)
When buying diapers, parents are likely to consider absorbency, fit and comfort as the most important features. But recent ((AND decades old too)) scientific research highlights the fact that the ingredients and materials used to make the diapers may be just as important, if not more so: The diaper itself could potentially harm a child’s health.
Our skin is a dynamic organ that develops and matures over time. A newborn’s skin is significantly thinner and more permeable than that of an adult and can more readily absorb chemicals.(linked)
The skin in the area around a baby’s genitals is even thinner and more susceptible to exposure to potentially harmful chemicals, such as dyes, chlorine and phthalates, all of which may be found in diapers.(linked)
A 2019 study by the French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety,(linked)
or ANSES, tested 23 diapers from bestselling products on the French market. Researchers found a number of volatile organic compounds, phthalates, formaldehyde, pesticides and other harmful chemicals. Several of the chemicals detected exceeded levels the agency deems a risk to infant health.
Exposure to chemicals at an early age can have serious and long-lasting health implications. According to the World Health Organization,(linked)
exposure to hazardous chemicals, air pollutants and pesticides can lead to irreversible damage and impair children’s physical and cognitive development. Long-term exposure to high concentrations of volatile organic compounds, or VOCs, can damage the liver, kidneys and central nervous system.(linked)
In addition, some VOCs, pesticides and formaldehyde are linked to cancer, and some phthalates can interfere with hormones that can affect proper growth and development.(linked)
Unlike menstrual products, baby diapers are not classified as medical devices, so they are not regulated by the Food and Drug Administration. The diaper industry is regulated by the Consumer Product Safety Commission, which does not require diaper manufacturers to disclose their ingredients or test their products or materials for a variety of chemicals to ensure safety. The agency requires that baby diapers be tested for lead. ((that’s not even close to ‘good enough’))
There are a lot of diaper options on the market: reusable and disposable, scented and unscented, and many other types. Because of the lack of adequate regulations and ingredient disclosure in the diaper industry, and the frequent use of potentially harmful chemicals, parents may find it hard to figure out which options are best for their little ones and the environment.
EWG’s comprehensive Guide to Safer Diapers outlines what every parent or caregiver should know before buying another diaper. EWG has also added diapers to the growing list of products that are EWG VERIFIED®, certifying that they meet our strictest standards for health and transparency. EWG VERIFIED diapers are free from our extensive list of ingredients and materials linked to harm, and all ingredients must be disclosed.
Quick Tips for Choosing Safer Diapers….”
Read the ingredients….;
Consider buying cloth diapers….;
look for brands that minimize the use of plastic in their products and packaging….;
Choose a brand that uses unbleached pulp or pulp bleached using totally chlorine-free techniques…;
Avoid products with fragrances or lotions, or other skin-conditioning agents….;
Choose plain, undyed diapers or ones with minimal designs. Many of the dyes used in diapers have been linked to health harms or may be contaminated with toxic heavy metals.;

Yes, old cloth diapers make wonderful dust cloths.
Best window cleaning cloths.
Politicians use fancy math. And none of it involves balancing a check book.
Costco is much cheaper than Walmart and even more when Costco has it’s semi-annual diaper sale!

Biden gave Fauci a pardon for everything he has done – so I doubt the DoJ can charge him for anything he has done. However, he has no pardon for crimes he is yet to commit.
If Rand Paul was serious, and I doubt Paul is serious about anything other than grandstanding with faux outrage, then Paul would get Fauci into a Senate hearing, put him under oath and ask him to admit everything. Paul should issue Fauci with two warnings at the start of proceedings:
If Paul and the Senate were serious they would make this narcissist have to admit the truth in front of everyone. Start with the simple stuff like there was no science behind masks and lockdowns right through to Fauci covering up for Wuhan and finally through to Fauci’s funding of gain of function research in Wuhan and elsewhere. I doubt that a narcissist like “I am the science” Fauci is capable of telling the truth if it makes him look bad.
Such a hearing would almost certainly allow the Senate to bank an indictment against Fauci at a later date. A Fauci hearing would not be a case of the truth will set you free, but rather, a case of the truth will keep you free.
Actually, unless this is an exception all pardons was done by an autopen except Hunter.

The cost of oil on May 11, 2026 was $105.80 per barrel. Regular fuel prices in Whitestown, Indiana is averaging about $ 4.38 to $ 4.50 per gallon. On May 6, 2026, Indiana Governor Mike Braun suspended both our State’s gasoline sales tax and gasoline excise tax for 30 days through June 7, 2026. This “saves” drivers approximately $0.59 to $0.60 a gallon (gas sales tax is $0.23 per gallon for May and the excise tax is $0.36 per gallon). It is the first time in modern Indiana history that both taxes have been suspended simultaneously.
Let’s do some quick math: At $4.50 a gallon of regular gasoline (not mid-level, not premium) add the tax back in and that’s roughly $5.10 per gallon of gasoline.
Why is our gasoline cost so high and why is our State government masking the rate, so we don’t see the inflation… for the first time in Indiana modern history? Where is all this money going?
I put a simple prompt into A.I. to see what it would generate:
“show me a history of local Indiana gas prices when barrels of oil were trading at $106 per barrel in past history – go back 50 years.”
There is no single public dataset that directly lists Indiana‑specific gasoline prices at every historical moment when crude oil traded at exactly $106 per barrel over the last 50 years. However, we can reconstruct the relevant periods using:
Below is a synthesized timeline showing every historical period when crude oil was near $106, along with what gasoline prices were doing nationally and regionally at those times. Indiana prices historically track very closely to Midwest averages.
Periods When Crude Oil Was ≈ $106 per Barrel (Last 50 Years)
Crude oil has only crossed the $106 level during three major eras:
1. 2008 Oil Spike (WTI peaked at $145; crossed $106 on the way up/down)
Crude oil context:
Gasoline price context (national/EIA):
Indiana estimated range:

· EIA gasoline spot prices. https://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/PET_PRI_SPT_S1_D.htm?utm_source=copilot.com
Next prompt I put into A.I. to see what it would generate:
“If this is the case then what is causing our gas prices to be so high considering $0.60 per gallon is, in essence, hidden by the tax abatement?”
Here’s the direct, evidence‑based answer to what’s driving Indiana gas prices right now, even though crude oil is not at extreme highs and even though Indiana has temporarily suspended part of its gas tax.
🧨 Short Answer
Indiana gas prices are high because global geopolitical conflict—not crude oil price alone—is the dominant driver, and the tax suspension only removes a small portion of the total per‑gallon cost. The current spike is tied to Middle East instability, Strait of Hormuz disruptions, and global supply fears, which outweigh the effect of Indiana’s temporary tax relief.
🛢️ 1. Oil Prices Are Being Driven by Geopolitical Risk, Not Fundamentals
Even though crude oil dipped below $100 after a ceasefire announcement, the U.S.–Israel–Iran conflict continues to keep global fuel prices elevated.
This means:
Gas prices are reacting to volatility and risk premiums, not just the spot price of crude.
Next prompt I put into A.I. to see what it would generate:
“So… to boil it down… fear is causing it?”
Pretty much yes — but not “fear” in the emotional sense. It’s risk, and in commodity markets, risk has a price. That price gets baked directly into what you pay at the pump.
Let me boil it down cleanly and without jargon.
⭐ Short Version
Gas prices are high because the global oil market is pricing in risk, not because the physical cost of producing gasoline suddenly jumped.
Think of it like insurance: When the world gets unstable, the “insurance premium” on every barrel of oil goes up — even if nothing has actually been disrupted yet.
That premium is what you’re paying.
🔥 What “fear” actually means in oil markets
When traders, refiners, and shippers see:
…they don’t wait to see if oil actually gets cut off.
They raise prices immediately to protect themselves from potential losses.
This is called a risk premium or geopolitical premium.
It’s not emotional panic — it’s financial self‑protection.
And meanwhile, the gas companies are raking in record profits….
That was a very good explainer, JWoo, and notice that gas prices were high in 2008 also.
Observer SC – check out additional comment further down the thread. I pasted a link to an article about the costliness of decommissioning oil wells. Good reading for industry economic effects.
Observer SC,
What is a sticking point to me – is why would the State of Indiana willingly give up $0.60 a gallon in taxes. It’s an enormous amount of money for local budgets and it’s causing a distortion to the consumer of what the actual price is. What happens in June when the taxes are reinstated?
What’s “in it” for Indiana government – and I assure you from up close and personal coverage – that it is not the welfare of the taxpayer they are interested in.
Personally, I think the way gas is priced is obnoxious. I don’t know what the answer is as to how to change it… but taking local taxes away is not the answer. That money is used to maintain the roads, so it is a necessary evil.
No idea what Indiana gets from pausing the taxes other than votes.
a Hiccup in revenue for the Data Centers and Infrastructure around INDY –
THAT’s What i Appreciate about it
ANY SAND in the gears IS Great !
Gas prices were around $3 before Trump bombed Iran. They are now at $4.50.
To solve the problem he created, he’s going to suspend the federal gas tax and take it down to $4.32
Art of the deal!
*yawn*
You need to do better than that, that’s lame-level troll work.
Democrats are getting REALLY desperate…. now there is a lawsuit challenging the jungle primary in California… and specifically because there are two Republicans in the lead.
https://nypost.com/2026/05/11/us-news/terrified-dems-plot-massive-voting-change-to-stop-all-republican-governor-primary/
FTA:
“A law that was brought in under Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to give all candidates an equal chance at the ballot is now being contested.
In California, the primaries — dubbed the “jungle primaries” — work in a way where the two candidates, regardless of party, who secure the top two positions in the June primary advance to the general election.
Now, a newly filed application is aiming to change that.
Political consultant Steve Maviglio filed a petition with state officials last week seeking a return to the pre-2010 traditional primary system, where separate primaries are held for each party and two candidates — one Republican and one Democrat — advance to the general election.”
SNIP
““It was extremely scary to envision the November ballot for governor with Republicans on it,” Maviglio told the Los Angeles Times.
Early polls in the 2026 governor’s race indicated two Republican candidates — Steve Hilton and Chad Bianco, with Hilton endorsed by Donald Trump — leading in the race to replace termed-out Gov. Gavin Newsom.”
Gee, for 14 years when Democrats could squeeze out every Republican candidate they loved the jungle primary.
Now they want a fair 2 party primary and in Virginia an actual election day. Talk about not standing by your principles and established law!
Let me explain it to you in a simple way…They have no “Principals”, they do not care about “The Law” and they certainly have no “Morals”.
When the SHTF there will be no mercy for I just wanted to be left alone. 😑

JUST IN: SUPREME COURT INVALIDATES ALABAMA’S RACE-BASED HOUSE DISTRICTS
*100%* of Alabama’s blue seats are racially drawn, and the Supreme Court, 6-3, has just NULLIFIED a previous court ruling that required them.
Now Alabama is set to use a new House map for the midterms.
WINNING!
Alabama slammer! Kagan fumes and tries to encourage the lower court to interfere with the SCOTUS decision in spiteful statement.
Nice, and It’s good to see how quickly they are moving on this.
SCOTUS hands GOP another win.
https://townhall.com/tipsheet/josephchalfant/2026/05/11/the-supreme-court-just-gave-republicans-another-major-win-on-redistricting-n2675907
Federal judge had ordered Alabama to have at least two minority-majority, i.e., Dem, districts. Alabama appealed to SCOTUS, which reversed the lower court order.
Alabama can now redistrict according to Callais. Proposed re-districting will have one Democrat district, and 6 GOP, not 2 Dem and 5 GOP.
If the GOP is allowing that new map to be made to allow one race-based district, that is still racial gerrymandering and is unconstitutional.
It may be a district based on population that will, because of housing patterns, be primarily black. The legislature will not intentionally draw a race-based district. U
nless they try to break up a concentration of Democratic voters with a bizarre district like Spanberge’s “lobster” in VA, there will be one Dem district that will have a large number of black voters.
SCOTUS vote was 6-3. No surprise there.
But Tennessee just put Memphis into 3 other districts now, wiping out their black majority district.
Each state is free to draw its own maps.
I expect the TN Dems will file a lawsuit on that, but at this point the federal courts, at least the appellate courts, probably don’t want to get involved.
The VA Dems just appealed to SCOTUS, and tried to argue that somehow the VASC violated the US Constitution when the VASC interpreted the VA constitution.
Appealing every redistricting is not a bad strategy, although at this day so close to primaries, the Dems would have to be very lucky to get a favorable ruling.
Mobile and Montgomery are both black-majority cities according to the latest population stats. If you can redistrict one to eliminate a racial gerrymander, you can redistrict two. It appears to me that the GOP in AL needs to grow a spine. Both of those districts are unconstitutional and there is no reason to continue maintaining any black-majority district according to the SCOTUS.
I don’t think Bama is going to draw a brand new map. What is going to happen is that Bama will now be allowed to use the new map that they drew up in 2023 that the Court invalidated and forced them to use one with 2 racist districts.
Now that racist district are officially unconstitutional, what I think happens is that the Court rejected 2023 map becomes valid.

AL District 2 most likely moves from blue into red corner
I. Prelude:
The Alabama Legislature wrapped up a special session May 8, resulting in bills to reinstate the 2023 maps for this year’s election, and redo primary elections in the affected districts: 1, 2 and 7.
II. AL-GOP candidates will switch districts
AL State Rep. Rhett Marques (R-AL2) will most likely unseat Rep. Shomari Figures (D-AL2) in general election.
III. Primaries proceed as proposed
Secretary of State Wes Allen (R-AL) said that the 5/19/26 primary election (run off on 6/16/26 for races where no candidate receives more than 50%) will proceed as planned following SCOTUS 6-3 ruling (Sotomayor, Kagan, Jackson dissenting). Case was remanded to N.D.Ala. for further consideration in light of Louisiana v. Callais.

More AI bs.
If the election is on 5/19, how can AL be redoing primary elections. There is no early voting and mail-in voting except for absentee ballots for which the rules are very stringent as to who can request such a ballot.
