Maybe the criteria for immigration should be that the immigrants have skills that we need, and signs an agreement that neither themselves or their relatives will ever use government benefits, under penalty of deportation.
I have always happily paid my taxes to live in this great nation. It is painful to see our government allowing such rampant abuse, sometimes even participating in the fraud. Very disheartening.

What we need is a new comprehensive program separated into two separate agencies based on strong rules and strict enforcement: immigration and guest workers.
Immigration would be based on something like the following rules:
A) only immigrants who apply through the US embassy or consulate in their home countries will be considered, the only exception to be where there is no embassy or consulate and/or where actual ongoing genocide is currently occurring and those individuals must apply through a safe third country.
B) The process for consideration of applicants would be based on a scoring system producing a total based on points derived from categories reflecting their relative importance by the varied possible highest number of points awarded in each category.
C) The categories would include at minimum the following:
a) A difficult and comprehensive test on American political theory and system of government.
b) An English language proficiency test.
c) A test based on any needed field of expertise that has shown chronic shortages not able to be filled by either American citizens, lawful permanent residents, or the guest worker program.
d) successful participation in guest worker program.
e) The earliest date of application having precedence in case of equal scores.
D) The annual number of immigrants allowed in would be based solely on the need of the United States and would be fulfilled solely on the basis of merit as determined by the total score, with no chain migration allowed other than that from the nuclear family, which must be stated on the application.
E) Applicants would be able to reapply annually to attempt to increase their score, while maintaining their original date of application.
Guest worker program:
A) Guest workers would have to apply separately from immigrants.
B) No dependents would be allowed entry
C) Employers would have to include the cost of housing and feeding workers along with wages while total cost of workers would have to be at least double the federal minimum wage.
D) Guest workers would have to return to their country of origin and reapply annually
No anchor baby citizenship either as a way to citizenship.
Great idea. That should ensure we only get white immigrants.

None of this matters unless these politician criminals are not being held accountable. So far Walz and Ellison are doing just fine. Our justice dept is a joke.
Throughout the entire(!!) Federal system, and undoubtedly also in every(!!) State, there is no effective auditing and accountability to make sure that money is being spent correctly. There is also a complete indifference as to the amount(!) of money that is being spent. (For example: Exactly how much money does it cost to run a day care, which keeps kids for about eight hours a day max? Who, exactly, authorized this amount of expenditure per kid?)
Of course, it don’t take much imagination to understand why this is the case: the money that is stolen is being kicked back, just barely under the table. There are plenty of people out there who will do and say anything (and not see a thing …), if only you slip them some cash. Many of those people are called “public officials,” “administrators,” and “legislators.”
A very brief unofficial program to look for public waste and fraud found, as Elon Musk put it, “targets everywhere.” That should be a meaningful and much-feared government department. Because, if we once again cared to look, we would quickly realize that “it ain’t just Somalis.”
The fraud is happening, quite unabated, because no one is looking. And it’s obvious why they aren’t.
That building? The government officials who are authorizing those payments damned well know what is going on. They could look at their “vendor list,” sort by mailing address, and see it instantly. If they wanted to. But there’s no one out there making them do that. “Crime does pay!”
Federal government payment systems have been on auto pilot for decades. If an accepted vendor submits an invoice, it is paid in full. There is nothing in the auto-pay system to flag suspicious payments.

Obviously, new Federal Law is needed to stop this. No private company would be able to do such a thing without quickly running into Federal Laws that do exist. (Including, for example, “RICO.”)

The billion dollars is being appropriated for upgrading the Executive bunker and other underground infrastructure beneath the East wing. Try again.
There is a legitimate need for “underground bunkers.” They were used, for example, by FDR. But I am given to understand that upgrades are sorely needed. It makes perfect sense for those to be (##CLASSIFIED##) installed while a major new renovation is underway. “If you’re already ‘digging great big holes,’ make them count!”
That above-renovation, by the way, has also been needed for a long time. The United States needs to conduct public (diplomatic) events from time to time, and it has been forced to either go to commercial facilities or to use … tents. We seriously cannot question the national need to “do it right.” In a venue designed to provide proper security.
But, unfortunately, “the public process” would never get the job done. President Trump happens to have vast resources of his own, plus access to more, plus fully-qualified expertise in such projects. I will remind everyone that this man became a b-i-l-lionaire from this expertise, and that he did so honestly(!). He can literally “glance at” any such project, and see the right way to do it.
The country is going to receive a tremendous gift. And, unlike so many, Trump and his associates will not “profiteer” from it. (A concept basically unheard-of in “DC.”)

I have actually been on a cruise ship where there was a hantavirus outbreak, and the cruise company simply switched to a protocol where you never touched any of the implements at the buffet: the ship’s personnel served everything to you. The “hand sanitizer” protocols remained in place, and the crew also extended them to the common areas. They wiped down the handrests of every seat in the theater, every day. Handrails of every stairs. The surface of every bar. Of every table. Things like that, because the virus spreads by contact.
It was readily apparent that these things had already been well-practiced.

New: Update on the FBI investigation of Georgia 2020. We’ve just learned today that the DOJ served a subpoena to Fulton County on April 20th requesting the contact information of individuals (including contractors) who worked the Fulton election in 2020. In other words the FBI raided Fulton and seized evidence on January 28, 2026, and now 2 1/2 months later they are tracking down everyone involved.

The vote fraud we saw in 2020 wouldn’t have been prevented by the SAVE act. That same type of fraud has been taking place in many states for decades prior to 2020 (think NY, IL, NJ, CA, et al). This is almost completely a law enforcement thing and not a legislative thing. There are mountains of existing federal and state laws that were openly violated in 2020. Passing more laws won’t fix this. Not saying the SAVE act shouldn’t be passed and made law. It should. What I’m saying is if you can’t prove there is fraud and prosecute the fraudsters, you’ll just get more and more of it. The SAVE act won’t prevent any of it as it will just be violated in addition to all the other laws.
Talking about fraud, complaining about fraud, doing fancy graphs and charts that imply there is fraud doesn’t prove there is fraud and it won’t get you one single guilty verdict. Everyone, including the FBI and DOJ, know exactly how the cheaters are cheating. There seems to be little stomach for actually proving how much fraud took place, who did it, and how they did it. Maybe some of that is because the GOP was up to their ears in the 2020 Steal. It wasn’t just the democrats this time. Trump knows it too.
Agree but fraud isn’t the problem per se. The problem is, and you hit on it, is that no one is shielding against it. States shouldn’t be expecting the government to stop the steal but acting to do so themselves. No on line voting. No mail in except for certain situations and we know what those are. Voter ID with picture on it just to name a few. Yes, there are states who won’t simply because its the only way they can keep their people in power. In fact, no law is going to make blue states not cheat. Never had, never will. However, stopping the steal in most honest states will be enough. Past the Save America Act will give power to the federal government which is great but states need to be responsible for their own honesty.
Agree for the most part. Passing a law that any American could look up any precinct and count the votes themselves, while simultaneously mandating draconian felony charges for any fraudster would sure limit it.

Timeline:
A lower court (Tazewell County Circuit Court) ruled the referendum process procedurally unconstitutional. It issued an injunction blocking the State Board of Elections from certifying the results.
Democrats and the Attorney General appealed. The Supreme Court denied an emergency motion or stay to lift the lower court’s block. This allows the injunction against certification to stand for now while it weighs the full case. It keeps the results uncertified and prevents the new maps from taking effect immediately.
Therefore, the maps remain in limbo, with no implementation for the 2026 elections… yet.
A final decision from the Supreme Court on the amendment’s validity is still pending and expected soon.
