This type of shenanigans happens far too much…
The DOJ just sued Cloudera for rigging high-paying tech jobs against American workers.
They created a fake internal email that bounced every U.S. applicant’s resume …then claimed “no qualified Americans applied” to fast-track foreign visa holders for green cards.
This is deliberate discrimination, plain and simple.
American jobs should go to Americans first.

Every one of these companies should be forced to pay for the full repatriation of every one of the foreign workers, AND THEIR ENTIRE FAMILY, back to their country of origin!!!
They bring in someone who will work more hours for less money, but the bigger cost to the taxpayer is when the worker gets permanent status and brings over their wife, their parents, and their in-laws, all of whom start receiving SNAP and SSI, and go onto Medicaid.
I watched this play out 40 years ago, when I was in banking, with Boeing and workers from SE Asia. One person had a job but five or six others, who spoke zero English, lived in the same house while receiving government funds/benefits as “low income seniors”.
Now, I see it playing out again in my own neighborhood, where most of my new neighbors have their non English speaking parents living with them, which is why my kids can’t afford a house in the city where they were born and raised!

Which goes back to my oft repeated mantra that until someone has been a citizen for at least 5 years they should NOT be able to receive a single penny in taxpayer benefits!!
When my in-laws immigrated here, in the late 1950s, from war torn Europe, one of the conditions of their acceptance was that they would NEVER be eligible for ANY government payments, other than into systems, such as Social Security/Medicare, which they PAID into by working for the next 30 years!!

I should also mention that it took my father-in-law 5 years of being here to establish residency, prove his reliability, and process all of the paperwork in order to bring his wife and two young children to this country. When they arrived, they did not speak a word of English and immediately set to learn it! There were no ESL classes, and there were no translators available in order to get a driver’s license or get a job or go to the doctor!
My in-laws are gone now but I know they would be furious to see how many ungrateful people have just walked in, disparaging the very country from which they only take and do not give back!
They retained the culture of their old country but they embraced the opportunity to acclimate and contribute to their new one!

In the first place, if they came over under family reunification then their family should be 100% responsible for them financially, forever, IMHO. And secondly, if you have four older adults all collecting $1,000 a month because they have “no income” and they’re all living in the same house with their Tech worker son /daughter and family, that’s a very nice little stipend, courtesy of the US taxpayers, to supplement the lower salary Microsoft or Amazon is paying the actual worker!
And this is why all the houses in my area are selling for a million bucks and my kids won’t ever be able to buy one!
I say 20 before they can vote or receive any benefits.

I don’t know how many hundreds of online applications I filled out only to never hear back; likewise for my spouse. This cannot be the only such instances. My son can’t get first mechanical engineering job – 16 months applying.

@Mrs Sunshine-Good morning to you and the rest of the Treehouse regulars. I usually don’t provide unsolicited information but I feel the NY Post opinion piece needs to be countered with facts that support the broader use of the plant known as marijuana.
First, The United States of America owned the patent to use THC as a brain injury prophylactic (patent no 6,630,507 and it expired on April 21, 2019). A friend, a PHD in Chemistry, explained to me that the compounds in marijuana reduce and/or eliminate injury to the brain. There needs to be a lot more research on this to see if it does protect the brain or it doesn’t? Removing marijuana from the schedule 1 drug classification will allow this to happen.
Second, There is not 1 compound in marijuana, in its natural state, that causes cancer. Comparing it to cigarettes is like comparing foie gras to oranges. Compound called aromatics are what cause cancer from smoking cigarettes. Marijuana doesn’t have those. I’ll stop here to keep this simple.

SSRIs and other psych drugs can cause psychosis… Probably the stacked effects of pot with SSRIs is worse.
There are also a host of other pharma drugs that can lead to “suicidal thoughts”.
So much of what pharma pushes cause more problems then they solve without ever addressing or researching the root cause of the problems they are meant to treat in the first place. I’m constantly shocked at all the adverts on TV (and I really don’t watch any) that address diseases and conditions I didn’t even know existed.
Nobody is asking the right questions.
If I had to pick, I would allow weed if we could rid ourselves of all the other drugs pushed by pharma. Then again, this isn’t the same weed that was around 40 years ago. It’s far, far more potent.
Everything in moderation, when all you do is wake and bake you are not helping yourself one bit.
Even moderation in moderation is beneficial.
I can tell you from observation that someone who smokes that THC heavily from a young age is not going to be quite right as they get older.
One of the things is does is stunt the normal emotional and psychological development that comes with age and experience.

The 2026 Overton Window is already starting to close …… restricting it’s view to those “cool” choices of political parties and candidates who the “undecided voter, etc.” will select from.
In 2026, that “cool” party and candidates is the G.O.A.T. President Trump and his MAGA / America First congressional candidates.
Being at this point is not by happenstance. Americans are responding to positive, pro-American actions by President Trump.
President Trump has been setting the political table for the 2026 and 2028 elections since 1/20/2025.
The list of his accomplishments since 1/20/2025 is long ……. but there are two “kingpins” among them.
(one) The elimination of the CIA’s unconstitutional 30 year funding of the national democrat party.

I don’t know if there is actual video out there, but there are many people who have come forward and confirmed that Trump said, “Why should I go to that cemetery? It’s filled with losers”, and in a separate conversation on the same trip, he referred to the more than 1,800 marines who lost their lives at Belleau Wood as “suckers” for getting killed.
