Today is another opinion day at SCOTUS. Opinions start at 10 EDT. Live-blogging at http://www.scotusblog.com (not affiliated with the Court).
Still waiting for a decision is the Callais case from Louisiana; this is the only case left form the October argument list. The case challenges a provision in the 1965 Voting Rights Act that been used to create congressional districts in which a group that is a racial minority in the state is a majority in that district.
The Callais challengers claims this violates the Fourteenth Amendment’s Equal Protection Clause. If the Court strikes down this provision of the VRA, one expects there would be a lot of lawsuits challenging districting in which these minority-majority districts were created. This could really upend all the redistricting being done in several states, and not just in blue states.
Callais is not only the one case from the October list that has not been decided, but Justice Alito is the only justice who has not written a majority opinion from October. Make of that what you will.
Also, Sean Spicer claimed yesterday in “The Huddle” podcast that the Callais decision has been written, that the racially-defined district provision has been struck down, and the liberals are slow-walking their dissents to make it too late for the states to redistrict.

Trump has stood by and watched Perfect murder Good for 8 years – maybe longer. He’s not gonna do it. He’s going to deliver the best outcome possible, and he’s not waiting for us to feel relaxed about it.
Best presidency ever! Just hang on. More winning is coming, but a lot of people are going to scream that it’s all over at EVERY turn.
The best way through this is to define viewpoints, not people, because people will shift as they change position and velocity in Trump gravity.
Bash the neocon, warmonger, and dopey globalist positions – not the people who are going to hold them one moment and come loose from them later.
Trump is Jupiter moving through the asteroid belt. He is going to pull people into his orbit.
A few will get slung off into space, but most will come along for the ride of their lives.
I am ON the Trump Train for good, even if I scream that I want off and can’t take it. In the end, I only want to scream “TOO MUCH WINNING!!!”

Here is the game plan that the forces against Trump will be using for the foreseeable future.
They will attempt to get you to make the perfect the enemy of the good.
Be it the freedom clowns and spending, the immigration hawks with H1B visas, the peace doves with timing, the cultural warriors with total bans of DEI/CRT, the neocons with war fighting, or the swamp dwellers with draining the swamp.
All of them will attempt to get you to believe on whatever issue is the issue of the day that it doesn’t go far enough or do enough. They will try to make you think that some sub issue of that issue is more important and should be handled first, that since the issue hasn’t been handled yet it won’t be, that we can’t do more than one thing, that so and so is a plant to stop the draining of the swamp, or that because it wasn’t 100% Trump lied. On every single issue, one or more groups will attempt this strategy.
You can’t allow them that power over you. If Trump secures the border and deports 2 million, don’t allow them to reduce that good by them saying well he didn’t deport 2.5 million, so he failed or lied.
You can’t allow them to use the perfect to void out the good in the coming months.
They will try. They already have with the CR and the H1b visa debates. It works, that is why they use it. You have to keep it in the front of your head on everything about to occur that half a loaf or hopefully in most cases 7/8ths a loaf is better than no loaf.
Do not allow them to gaslight you into thinking the good is the enemy of the perfect.
In the real world, most things are never perfect, but if we try real hard, we can get plenty of good accomplished in the coming 4 years.
End of Era: Valero has closed its Benicia, California refinery in northern California.
Company representatives say Valero has no plans for a “tank farm” and will likely leave in the next two years.
President Trump should declare an emergency and take temporary control of Valero and Phillips66 (Los Angeles) refineries – which refine 20% of the state’s oil–> for the 5th largest economy in the world.
If we hesitate, both areas will be lost to local plans, likely housing, and the state and nation wife suffer for decades.
Nah, disagree. Government taking control of private business is a communist tactic that always ends badly. CA will have to suffer for its poor political choices. Maybe when they suffer enough, they will wake up and elect rational candidates. CA might suffer, but the rest of the country will barely notice, and we can thank the Founders for that.

If changes aren’t made soon, Chevron could close their refineries – another 30% of refining capacity.
Call it what you want, a temporary pause or inability to sell the property and facilities – and hope Steve Hilton wins.
Those refineries are what is known as “Brownfields”
Nobody will be putting any residential in those spaces for a LONG time.
Under state law those properties will need to be rehabilitated,
(freed of measurable levels of toxins) before any residential can be built there.
Perhaps Elon or some other entrepreneur will see the value of picking up those properties and making them profitable for their designed refining purposes.
Does DOW run any refineries? perhaps one can be run for their specific war fighting needs?

Just to be clear: I don’t believe this ceasefire will last.
There is no real endgame that includes Hezbollah remaining armed, or the IRGC maintaining power with weapons intact.
But strategically, a ceasefire still makes sense. It exposes reality.
It shows that Israel and its allies are willing to give diplomacy a chance — not because they’re naive, but because they want peace.
And it brings the skeptics along. The ones who claim this is just another endless war pushed by “neocons.”
This proves the opposite. Peace is on the table.

Happy early morning to you all or late night however ya want to look at it. Just finished boiling down roughly 1200 gallons of sap to just over a hundred. Been a weird spring so pretty happy with what we got for the season. Just gotta get it on the finish stove and boil it down to that sweet sweet syrup. As I sat by the fire tonight taking in the star filled sky, I was humbled by the simplicity of it all. Every year it amazes me that with just a little hard work one can harvest all the sugar one needs from God’s bounty(that is if you have the maples to tap). Best of all it’s good sugar. Real sugar. Plus it helps to take my mind off of all this madness we witness everyday happening in America. No matter if we see justice or we right this ship that is headed for a colossal iceberg, sometimes taking a break and living our best lives can get it all back into perspective. God bless this great country and may Almighty God let us see the hammer fall on these traitors amongst us!

THE CEASEFIRE IS A GOOD MOVE While many Israelis are strongly opposed to this deal, I actually think this could be a good move.
This doesn’t sound like a “sweep it under the rug” agreement.
It sounds like a framework that creates breathing room for the Lebanese government to decide what it really wants: take back control of its country or continue living under Hezbollah.
With backing from President Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, there’s a real opportunity here.
If the Lebanese government truly wants disarmament, it may even reach out for support and guarantees to do it without triggering another civil war.
That’s the real test. But make no mistake, from Israel’s perspective, we will not wait forever for the Lebanese government to decide.
