Today is another opinion day at SCOTUS. Opinions start at 10 EDT. Live-blogging at http://www.scotusblog.com (not affiliated with the Court).
Still waiting for a decision is the Callais case from Louisiana; this is the only case left form the October argument list. The case challenges a provision in the 1965 Voting Rights Act that been used to create congressional districts in which a group that is a racial minority in the state is a majority in that district.
The Callais challengers claims this violates the Fourteenth Amendment’s Equal Protection Clause. If the Court strikes down this provision of the VRA, one expects there would be a lot of lawsuits challenging districting in which these minority-majority districts were created. This could really upend all the redistricting being done in several states, and not just in blue states.
Callais is not only the one case from the October list that has not been decided, but Justice Alito is the only justice who has not written a majority opinion from October. Make of that what you will.
Also, Sean Spicer claimed yesterday in “The Huddle” podcast that the Callais decision has been written, that the racially-defined district provision has been struck down, and the liberals are slow-walking their dissents to make it too late for the states to redistrict.

That’s not exactly what the Fourth Circuit said. It struck down a preliminary injunction in a case involving an unvaccinated student in a public school. West Virginia law requires that any child attending a public, parochial or private school of state-regulated day care center must be vaccinated against chickenpox, hepatitis-b, measles, meningitis, mumps, diphtheria, polio, rubella, tetanus and whooping cough..
The court noted that home-schooled children were not required to be vaccinated. Children with medical conditions who would have an adverse reaction to a particular vaccine were also exempted.
Conditioning access to education and, especially, daycare (a necessity in the modern it takes two wage earners economy) on a sort of vaccine passport is sufficiently compulsory as to be a requirement.
I shorthanded the description to the moral essence of the matter.
The true solution, aside from acquainting people with The Inconvenient Study, is a repeal of the PHRMA immunity for their products, which stripped citizens of their common law right to a jury trial for recovery for damages from fraudulent or unsafe products.
And make no mistake, when the actual science arrives, if it ever does, many of these products do far more harm than they prevent and are pushed under fraudulent premises. Not all, but certainly many, and very certainly on the American vaccine schedule.
But that’s not really the moral issue. The moral issue is who owns our bodies, and can they be forced to be altered by things contrary to God’s laws against child sacrifice and baby murder?
Also, I’ll tell you what.
If I were a young person thinking about whether to become a parent, and if I knew that I would be required to follow the current vaccine schedule that results in a greater than fifty percent chance of that child having a chronic health condition by age 18, I just wouldn’t have a kid.
Kids are life changing. Unhealthy, chronically ill kids, while still God’s beloved children, can be economically life destroying.
Greater than 50 percent? Who would knowingly take that bet?

The National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986 (42 U.S.C. §§ 300aa-1 to 300aa-34) , was signed by President Reagan. The drug companies required this protection because without it, they would not manufacture vital vaccines at all. Yes, it was a utilitarian trade-off, but the benefits of having essential vaccines even manufactured were considered by Congress and Ronald Reagan to far outweigh the loss of recovery by the small number of people who might be injured by the vaccine.

What does this have to do with the Callais case and other pending SCOTUS cases?
That was my post – to alert Treepers that today could be a momentous day if the Court struck down a provision of the 1965 Voting Rights Act that required racially defined districts. This would affect control of the House and whether there would be an avalanche of investigations of the administration and possibly another impeachment. A loss in Callais might mean that the Trump agenda could be effectively stalled for two years.

A few will get slung off into space, but most will come along for the ride of their lives.

Here is the game plan that the forces against Trump will be using for the foreseeable future.
They will attempt to get you to make the perfect the enemy of the good.
Be it the freedom clowns and spending, the immigration hawks with H1B visas, the peace doves with timing, the cultural warriors with total bans of DEI/CRT, the neocons with war fighting, or the swamp dwellers with draining the swamp.
All of them will attempt to get you to believe on whatever issue is the issue of the day that it doesn’t go far enough or do enough. They will try to make you think that some sub issue of that issue is more important and should be handled first, that since the issue hasn’t been handled yet it won’t be, that we can’t do more than one thing, that so and so is a plant to stop the draining of the swamp, or that because it wasn’t 100% Trump lied. On every single issue, one or more groups will attempt this strategy.
You can’t allow them that power over you. If Trump secures the border and deports 2 million, don’t allow them to reduce that good by them saying well he didn’t deport 2.5 million, so he failed or lied.
You can’t allow them to use the perfect to void out the good in the coming months.
They will try. They already have with the CR and the H1b visa debates. It works, that is why they use it. You have to keep it in the front of your head on everything about to occur that half a loaf or hopefully in most cases 7/8ths a loaf is better than no loaf.
Do not allow them to gaslight you into thinking the good is the enemy of the perfect.
In the real world, most things are never perfect, but if we try real hard, we can get plenty of good accomplished in the coming 4 years.
The purpose and goals of President Trump are plainly visible by his actions and consistent: He is for the benefit first of the common PEOPLE of this country, then of the PEOPLE in the rest of the world. It is validating, even to our battered conservative skepticism.
The methods of his leadership are amazing. I still don’t get HOW he does it, or HOW he is able to get so much momentum going, but every day the momentum is growing. Everyone and every organization has their eyes opened every day — just by watching him. Even those who hate him, are biased against him, and want to see him gone — cannot ignore him. He lives rent free in their head, and they come around to seeing the universal principles by which he is operating. He hammers actions based on truth from one direction, then another, and they cannot mount an organized opposition against him.
President Trump is transparent in his words and actions. He is consistent in what he says, what he does, and what he asks/demands of others. His promises are bold and he keeps them like no other president has. He is making massive, nearly overnight changes, not only in our country, but in the world. It is amazing that he is able to accomplish so much when there are so many snakes in the grass. This second term, he is weeding them out faster and choosing like-minded servants who multiply his effectiveness. No U.S. president has ever faced so much organized resistance and treason than President Trump
He has chosen to use his intellect and every skill he has to do what is right. He has tremendous faith that he can make a difference in this world. He has a confidence and courage such that he doesn’t care what others think, yet a humility to know he has to do it with the help of like minded people. Those people are the “common” people, and he ridicules those who think they are not common.
He believes people are basically good. He believes that God is real. He believes that healthy people are happy people, and they need to be able to create wealth freely for their labor, and have the freedom to spend their money on what is good for them.
He believes the United States, with its Constitutional Republic, is the best environment in the world to enable and give opportunity for people to be happy and prosperous.
He believes that we can be a light for the world, but we must demand that the rest of the world respect us and our right to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.
He believes the enemy of our country are the stupid, greedy American people who have been selfishly taking advantage of this country; who betrayed the trust and obedience of its people; and who diverted the people’s wealth for their own selfish gain, at the expense of the principles of this country. He’s not going to allow that anymore.
He has cultivated and focused the family of MAGA. Identifying those people whose goodness, industriousness, trust, and obedience have been taken advantage of and abused. He has opened our eyes to this abuse, and to the rights of freedom and self determination that have been quietly stolen from us.
He has rekindled the same healthy distrust held by our founders of government and men with too much power. He has recultivated the desire to reclaim our freedoms and rights, and is empowering us with a hope and pathway to reclaim our spiritual and economic freedom.
He wants the US to be a light of hope on the hill for all people. He will negotiate win/win agreements with those nations and countries who respect us; who respect the principles and intent of our Constitution. If you do not respect us, however, we are not going to let you take advantage of our goodness, or share in our wealth at our expense. If you as a nation are treating your people badly, you are going to be treated less favorably by us, until you show that you value your people as much as we value ours. He believes that nations who treat their people well will also be good economic neighbors with us.
He is convincing those who are very wealthy (most of whom truly earned their money), that the best economic soil in which to build wealth is in a constitutional republic, which supports the ability of the common man to earn wealth in proportion to his efforts. The economic engine of the United States is the human spirit freed to enjoy the fruits of honest labor, and that engine has more natural and raw horsepower than any other governed economy.
The Trump Train seems to be remarkably aligned with universal principles of Truth, which reflect the will and design of our Creator, and are the best standard by which we should live. These same principles were what our country’s founders used to declare independence, and framed into the Constitution of this nation.
Our founders believed that a nation should preserve the right and freedom of an individual to seek, understand, and live by God’s principles. They believed that free individuals working together in humility would make a stronger nation than a government which dictates its will on the people. President Trump professes and seeks to lead and restore this nation back to these same principles.
These principles resonate deeply within all human beings, down to our DNA in every cell, in our spirits, and produce fruit that “miraculously” multiplies. Because we follow universal principles, we see the snowballing acceleration of momentum on day 88 of the 2nd year of the 2nd term of this very stable genius in the history of the kingdoms of this world in the year of our Lord 2025.

End of Era: Valero has closed its Benicia, California refinery in northern California.
Company representatives say Valero has no plans for a “tank farm” and will likely leave in the next two years.
President Trump should declare an emergency and take temporary control of Valero and Phillips66 (Los Angeles) refineries – which refine 20% of the state’s oil–> for the 5th largest economy in the world.
If we hesitate, both areas will be lost to local plans, likely housing, and the state and nation wife suffer for decades.

In Whiting, Indiana, the BP refinery has ‘locked out’ it’s striking employees/union members–800 employees. They have been on strike since March 19, BP has other workers doing those jobs as BP says the union demands are unsustainable, and keeps rejecting union offers.

Happy early morning to you all or late night however ya want to look at it. Just finished boiling down roughly 1200 gallons of sap to just over a hundred. Been a weird spring so pretty happy with what we got for the season. Just gotta get it on the finish stove and boil it down to that sweet sweet syrup. As I sat by the fire tonight taking in the star filled sky, I was humbled by the simplicity of it all. Every year it amazes me that with just a little hard work one can harvest all the sugar one needs from God’s bounty(that is if you have the maples to tap). Best of all it’s good sugar. Real sugar. Plus it helps to take my mind off of all this madness we witness everyday happening in America. No matter if we see justice or we right this ship that is headed for a colossal iceberg, sometimes taking a break and living our best lives can get it all back into perspective. God bless this great country and may Almighty God let us see the hammer fall on these traitors amongst us!

If the Lebanese government truly wants disarmament, it may even reach out for support and guarantees to do it without triggering another civil war.
That’s the real test. But make no mistake, from Israel’s perspective, we will not wait forever for the Lebanese government to decide.
