Currently polling in the CA open primary places the two republicans at ~ 13% each, and the remaining democrats in single digits each. The state faces the spectacle of two republicans advancing to the final – with no democrats on the ballot. By encouraging republicans to pool their votes on only one, this will ensure that a democrat advances to the semi-finals.

Newsom forced us to use translucent ballot envelopes for Prop 50. Anyone with a simple flashlight could see how the ballot was marked. Assume a lot got tossed out even before they arrived to be counted.

The legislature has Supermajorities in both chambers – so just like when Ahhnald tried to make major reforms during his first year in office, he was beaten back ferociously and couldn’t accomplish Anything. This forced him to move left to maintain any semblance of civility and pretense of working together.

Fisheggs, I read they are in the process of “Verification” of the voter signatures required to get the Voter ID proposition on the November ballot. In CA we can’t be sure that means it’s likely to get on, unfortunately. Newsom will have his hand in this. There’s NO WAY the Democrat Crime Machine wants to have honest elections here. The DOJ should be involved in federal oversight of our elections and these kind of voter signature counts here due to the potential for fraud. Unfortunately they have been asleep at the wheel. All they do is file lawsuits and write “Pretty please, if you get a minute, do you think you could comply with the law on this?” letters. That has been Bondi’s signature style of LE, instead of filing charges against people who violate the law and arresting them. President Trump has been posting about the Palisades fires lately. I think some people from that area has been talking to him lately, and they approve Hilton more than Bianco.
Steven Hilton is a foreigner, and as a foreigner I can say that I hope foreigners wouldn’t hold positions of power in the US. But, I respect President Trump’s opinions and pray that God will always guide him.

I will be voting for Steve Hilton in November. I saw him speak in our little town a few months ago and I thought he had some good ideas about how he can get improvements made despite the supermajority Democrat Crime machine in the state legislature. He explained that the Governor has a lot of power in terms of EOs and cancelling agencies, projects, firing people, for example. He will back LE to not only arrest criminals, but to actually prosecute them and put them in jail, as opposed to ordering local DAs to put them back on the streets to prey on CA citizens, as Gavin Newsom does. (Our local Mayor told us those orders come from the state when we were complaining about the local DA not prosecuting crimes in our area) Hopefully Michael Gates, who has a great track record in Huntington Beach, will also get elected as state AG. That alone could really turn things around in CA. Gates, who appears to be a Christian on a mission to protect people and curtail crime, spoke at our local church and IMO he is the real deal.
Hilton has also promised to do away with the insanity of the mandates for electrification of all vehicles, homes, and decommissioning natural gas lines in the state. PG&E workers admit there is no way the infrastructure of the state can handle this. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realize the result will be constant black outs, which could turn CA into Cuba. (Democrat Communists would probably love that as it fits right into their Color Revolution agenda. ) PG&E leadership however seem to be wholeheartedly behind the Democrat’s dastardly mandatory electrification plan, as they aren’t waiting for 2035 to implement this. They have already identified 151 pilot cities in CA where they are imminently about to commence the electrification “process”. The carrot? Convincing local citizens to agree to be a pilot city by promising “discounts” on the cost of replacing all their appliances. In a recent public zoom hearing PG&E didn’t mention any financial assistance for homeowners who will have to redo the electrical system in their homes to accommodate the increased amperage they will need to run all these “green” systems, though. So if you have an older home that was designed to function on gas, that could cost you an additional $20-30K.
It will be a serious hardship to lose the gas, as when the power goes out, (which happens quite frequently already in our neighborhood) one can still cook with gas and get hot water. That makes a big difference during black outs, especially in the winter. IMHO if the Democrats are not focused on sticking it to CA citizens like this because they see it as moving their Color Revolution along, then someone is going to make big money out of the sale of all these “green appliances”, and one can guess a lot of that will go back into the pockets of certain politicians who are forcing this on the state. IMO it has nothing to do with the environment. It is well known how much toxic waste is generated by lithium batteries after they’ve maxed out their limited lifetimes. They are also a huge potential for environmental disaster.
We have already had a catastrophic lithium battery fire here in January 2025 at the Vistra Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) facility in Moss Landing, which burned 100,000 huge lithium batteries (the kind that are used to back up the statewide grid) for 6 days (since you can’t put those fires out). It has created an environmental disaster area which corrupt local and federal officials are not addressing appropriately and are not even trying to clean up. (Hint: Don’t eat the local seafood if you go there. Also watch out for what is coming from “The Salad Bowl of America”. And no, they haven’t tested most of the farms in the area) According to lawyers who have come to help the locals, the latter is a national practice in environmental disasters. “You won’t find what you don’t look for.” The disaster is especially heartbreaking here, because in the middle of the Covid lockdowns, the state and local officials quietly agreed behind closed doors for this BESS facility to be built right on the edge of the beautiful, pristine Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. Besides the beauty of the area now in jeopardy, this is home to among other things, one of the last remaining groups of the endangered sea otters. The Elkhorn Slough, right next to Vistra, is where a large percentage of them lived. Some on this site who don’t care that much about wildlife may snicker about that, but please understand that locals and large numbers of other people really love these sea otters and some come from all over the world to see them and enjoy the beauty of this area. Indeed this tourism generates a lot of income for the local economy. Now it has been contaminated with lethal heavy metals thanks to the BESS fire and many residents are likely to face severe health issues. So don’t let Democrats talk to you about their concern for the environment and how great these “green” initiatives are.
Hilton also says he will do away with the policies that have been driving gasoline refineries out of CA. Some have already left, which means CA has to import gasoline from elsewhere. That is the reason for the high price of gas in CA, it is not President Trump’s fault as Gavin Newsom loves to lie about. As gas prices and inflation go down elsewhere in the country, we don’t expect to see that here in CA thanks to Gavin Newsom’s and the Democrat’s policies. Hopefully Steve Hilton will be able to turn that around.
But for any chance of any of this to happen we need to have honest elections. Unfortunately, thanks to John Thune and Mitch McConnell’s leadership, the GOP has failed us by refusing to pass the SAVE Act. The Democrats have refused to turn over the voter rolls to the Feds for review and everyone knows about the mail-in ballot issues and massive election fraud in CA. So far all the DOJ does is “sue them.” Our primary is in June so it is unlikely we will have an honest election in CA yet again. As interesting as all this is, any Republican candidate who might win the CA Governor race will face an overwhelmingly Democrat state legislature, with almost certainly veto proof majorities. Anything that Republican will want passed to fix the state will never get passed in the legislature, and everything that they want that the new Governor finds he must veto will get overridden and put into law anyway. It is highly likely that everything wrong in CA will continue to stay wrong and even more wrong will happen, but this time the Democrat state politicians and media will have a Republican to blame it all on. So don’t anyone get too giddy about a Republican winning the CA Governor race. Making any positive changes will be the longest of long shots.
