After we get this line of storms move through an area from NE Nebraska up through N. Wisconsin and MI are going to get plastered with snow and Blizzard conditions. Chicago will see some snow too.
The Ides of March is still upon us. They have now moved the frost line all the way down to Louisiana on St. Pattys day.
The forecast for colder than normal conditions in the eastern 1/3 of the country from mid March through Mid April still holds.
We were totally snowed in for four days last week due to heavy, unending snow, and we are used to snow.
Then we had an amazing warm spell for a couple days and could actually see some of the ground under all that snow.
But then two days ago we got 5 inches, yesterday it was sunny and hit above freezing temps, and right now. . . well, it looks like we are in for a lot more snow — along the south shore of Lake Superior.

Last winter I posted photo of having no piles of snow & my bike path to the grocery store, this winter, still no snow piles.

Not that I am in business anymore that the lack of tourism affects me this year, my 2,3 and 4th years the fires nearly bankrupted me til WuFlu put money back to me for a year or 2.

I have a high school friend of mine who is hospitalized with RSV. RSV can be deadly for us elderly. There are vaccines for RSV for those interested. COMMENTARY FOR 2 THESSALONIANS 2:15
Cautions against the error that the time of Christ’s coming was just at hand. There would first be a general apostacy from the faith, and a revealing of the antichristian man of sin. (1-4) His destruction, and that of those who obey him. (5-12) The security of the Thessalonians from apostacy; an exhortation to stedfastness, and prayer for them. (13-17)
13-15 When we hear of the apostacy of many, it is a great comfort and joy, that there is a remnant according to the election of grace, which does and shall persevere; especially we should rejoice, if we have reason to hope that we are of that number. The preservation of the saints, is because God loved them with an everlasting love, from the beginning of the world. The end and the means must not be separated. Faith and holiness must be joined together as well as holiness and happiness. The outward call of God is by the gospel; and this is rendered effectual by the inward working of the Spirit. The belief of the truth brings the sinner to rely on Christ, and so to love and obey him; it is sealed by the Holy Spirit upon his heart. We have no certain proof of any thing having been delivered by the apostles, more than what we find contained in the Holy Scriptures. PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.

For Betsy and others who care, I have reached the point where I have to be honest and admit that I have fallen about as low as one can and need help. When I lost my job in Jan, it was all because I was fed up with the way the animal shelter I was working at was being managed and because of a promise that was made to me by the administrator Silvy. I was told by Silvy that when I felt my dog Trouble’s quality of life had gotten to the point where I felt it was time, that I could put her to sleep. So after two years of working hard, cleaning, caring for the animals and doing maintenance on the facility I had decided that it was time for me to move on. While working with this woman it became quite clear to me that she cared only about the welfare of the animals and treated the people who worked for her like tools. There are many sick and hostile dogs at the facility, they spend money on chemo for dogs with cancer and take care of several very aggressive dogs who will never be adopted in addition to the other 200 dogs who they hope to have adopted, yet run the facility with a skeleton crew (claiming they can not afford another person). When someone get sick, hurt or some other personal issue arises everyone else loses their day off and the workload is increased, I once worked 28 days straight. When a dog dies the body is put into a freezer and maybe one day down the road they dispose of them. Trouble had reached 13 years of age and had been having mobility issues so it was recommended that I start giving her Prednisone daily, I was hesitant at first because I knew that it was a strong medicine and came with side effects but I was convinced by others that it was time. The first few weeks of the steroids did increase her mobility but she was always hungry, thirsty and was losing control of her bladder constantly. In December just before X-mas I decided to stop smoking weed and to greatly decrease my alcohol intake. In my moment of clarity from not escaping into smoke and drink I made the decision to put Trouble to sleep and move back to the US. I asked Silvy if I could put Trouble to sleep and bury her on the property and she said yes. It was soon after that I received a very long and condescending voice message from Silvy (she liked to speak to me like I was a child) concerning something that I had been doing for almost a year and a half and decided that tomorrow I would give my notice. I had no real plan, no money saved, I thought it would take them several weeks to find someone who was willing and able to do the job. I was wrong…eight days later I was told to leave the property and that she would not help me “kill your dog”. I was given some “go away money” and me and Trouble was on the street. I sank into drink and smoke again depressed because I was not able to give Trouble the care she needed or able to bring what I believed was a good end to this chapter of my life. I was forced to return Trouble to the shelter so that she could at least be taken care of properly (Silvy promised to have her sent to the States by way of adoption but instead took her home to her house to be with some other 20 dogs that she takes care of with her husband. Not a day goes by where I do not shed at least one tear over this). Last week at the behest of a couple of good friends I went back to the shelter to apologize and ask for my job back (I had heard through the grapevine that the new guy didn’t last three weeks and that they had been struggling). I did not want to do it but being in a bind I decided to eat some crow no matter how bad it tasted, Silvy was very blunt (I could use a different word that rhymes) and told me I couldn’t come back. I have overstayed my welcome with my friends and the little money I can make day to day feeds me but does me no good as far as reaching the border. I have lots of people telling me that they want work done but thus far only a couple have actually put money on the table. I have a fairly large paint job coming up but even that won’t get me to where I want to go, I seem to be treading water making no real progress.
I have no family to ask for help, my brother could help me since he has the means but his TDS makes it impossible for us to have any kind of civil conversation. My sister was living out of her car and still talking to our mother who has been dead for many years last time we spoke. I don’t need much to get to where I want to go, $500 US would get me to the border by bus with some left over for food. $1000 would be better as there would be money for bribes (if needed) and give me some flexibility once on US soil. I am thinking of setting up a Go Fund Me with a friend from the US (I have no bank account) to help me. I don’t really have a plan once I am back in the states, I do believe that there are many Veterans advocates that may be able to help me as well as what the Veterans Administration may be able to do.
I would only ask those who can afford it to help me if possible, if not with money then please remember me in your prayers that I may overcome this time in my life. 🖖🏻

I can’t imagine how much energy it took for you to type this, or how much pain. I am broken with you for all of it…
There isn’t a day which goes by that I don’t think of you in the predicament you were experiencing, and now even more so. If there is any comfort please let it be that God knows exactly where you are and has not abandoned you, though I am well aware that you must feel as if He has. Everyone of us here can feel the terrible emptiness, and I know guilt, you’re feeling about Trouble. Cruelty by others is no respecter of persons. I grieve with you.
But please know that you will see her again one day…in full health and joy. No less a man than Billy Graham believes this, and I believe it as well.
As for your current position, it wouldn’t hurt to put up a plea, BUT I would prefer to see you on GiveSendGo rather than Go Fund me. If you decide to take that route please let us know. I would contribute what I could and consider it a helping hand to a friend. Would we all have such friends in this world when we need one. As someone wrote, tue biggest mistake anyone can makenis thinki g it can’t happen to you…In the meantime, yes, you have my constant prayers always, DG 🙏🏻💕
Please do what you have to to hang on, even if it’s only day by day.

Contacting your Republican Representative from your original hometown… explaining you are trapped in Mexico and attempting to return home may be of use to you. Politicians love the appearances of helping our veterans and ours here in Indiana clearly state for veterans to approach them with their needs.
Hold your nose if you have to, but you have to make it across that border.
The civil unrest can work to your favor. Contact the embassy… contact your representatives… make those jerks earn their pay on your behalf for they certainly aren’t legislating for our behalf.

Thank you JWoo, it is my experience that the embassy would be of no help to me , they really only care for their own and I am not one of them. Unless the violence gets worse here for Americans in general they wouldn’t lift I finger for someone like me. I am not traped, I have just “painted myself into a corner” and for now I am not “on the street”, so I avoid any problems with vagrancy/ police but my friends goodwill is running low, if I have any problems with the police I will of course ask for the Embassy to be contacted.
