I was well into CATURDAY before I discovered the news, dear Pat. Garrison alluded to something below but I didn’t twig. I did answer your reply to my post. I am astounded at the anger in some comments and the accusatory finger pointing…
Maggie just went outside to get her vitamin D. There is a squirrel on the feeder not far from her who stopped for a moment to eyeball her just in case she might have been a threat to his lunchtime, which there was not …so having assessed the situation and deciding he was safe he got back to business. We are equal opportunity feeders here. Birds in their little nests (and others of God’s creations) agree.
Maggie’s parents are off for the weekend to West Texas where Caroline’s father has some property around Roscoe. I told Chris I wasn’t going to ask where she and Brian were going. So of COURSE!!! THE very first thing he asked her was where she was going!! I could have beaned him…off to WT for a rattlesnake hunt, something I didn’t want to know. They’ll be careful (they say) and do have anti venom serum with them just in case the snakes are not. Still……ARGH!!!!
I now know that when I say “Don’t ask!!!” I need to make sure he’s really listening. Never assume is my motto going forward…😖

Yes, Betsy. This is PDJT in his second administration. It’s all about who you pick to help do the work. In the first administration he was pressured into picking many grifters that fought him tooth and nail, but in the second administration he chose his own team and , viola, stuff happens.

I was watching my favorite Constitutional lawyer last week and he said something that I think is so profound: “Do the righteous thing.” Meaning, Don’t be a jerk. I think that may be in the Bible somewhere.

Wasn’t going to watch it because it’s so hard to not be angry at the games being played against Mrs. Kirk, but read the comments and so am glad I went back and watched, it was nice to see someone step up and add real experience because they know her.
What I see happen when people denigrate widows, widowers, those who lost a loved one, whether by natural causes or tragic endings, without any semblance of compassion, there are spiritual teachings in many religions that the person doing the denigrating when they eventually experience that deep loss, will experience the denigrating turned back upon them as a kind of, not necessarily a karma thing, but what one puts out will always boomerang back upon them, with grace or, as one instructor told me, 10x more due to something called epigenesis.
It’s why in the Christian teachings in the instructions is to pray for those who would hurt you, turn the other cheek, do good to those who would despitefully use you. So seeing that cabal of grifters doing what they are doing to Mrs. Kirk it’s a sadness toward them, they don’t know what they’re doing. But eventually will.

Biography: Cuauhtémoc was the last Aztec Emperor who reigned during the final years of the Aztec Empire. He is remembered for his resistance against the Spanish Conquistadors and his determination to uphold the traditions and independence of his people, even in the face of overwhelming odds.
Coming to power in 1520, Cuauhtémoc inherited an empire in crisis. The Spanish forces led by Hernán Cortés had already arrived, and the previous emperor, Moctezuma II, had been killed. I would listen to him on the radio as opportunity presented itself in later years.
I always learned something of value.

When I was a young woman, 24 years old and already married for 5 years, we bought our first house.
We lived behind Vi, a beautiful woman whose husband had died years earlier, and her and I became great friends.
One morning as she handed me a big root ball of irises to plant in our yard, she stopped, wiped the dirt off her hands, and then stopped while looking down at the back of her hands.
I watched and waited as she rubbed the back of her hands, and then she said, “Yesterday I was 18 years old and my hands were young and beautiful, like yours. Now my hands tell me I’m old, but I’m still 18 years old inside.”
Vi at 82 and me around 28 at that time, and we loved and respected one another.
Seemed she was a young soul, and I’ve always felt like an old soul.
She died a few years later, and I took on her name as one of my own. And Violet is my birthday flower.
Thank you for the birthday song. I may memorize it and, if God willing, I make it to my second 18th birthday, I’ll sing it for my husband, who has been with me through all of my Leap Year birthdays. . . but the first two.
Mom had a massive amount of Iris’s planted all around the yard, most all… were Violet.

The University of Cincinnati has become the most recent institution to knock one of their former players with a lawsuit, making the claim that ex-quarterback Brendan Sorsby violated his name, image and likeness (NIL) contract following a transfer to Texas Tech in January.
Ron Slavin, the agent of Sorsby, spoke with the AP and said that the quarterback intends on fighting the lawsuit against him, also saying that he was given a $875,800 payment from Cincinnati, but brought in a lot more revenue for the program during his time there.
“In that time, he generated millions in value for the program. Attempting to recover those funds now sends the wrong message to current and future student-athletes and risks damaging the long-term credibility of Cincinnati football,” said Slavin. “This is further disappointing given that Brendan parted ways with UC in what was a mutually agreeable manner. The money the university seeks to recover from him is nothing more than an unlawful penalty under Ohio law.”

COMMENTARY FOR ISAIAH 32:2
Times of peace and happiness. (1-8) An interval of trouble, yet comfort and blessings in the end. (9-20)
1-8 Christ our righteous King, and his true disciples, are evidently here intended. The consolations and graces of his Spirit are as rivers of water in this dry land; and as the overhanging rock affords refreshing shade and shelter to the weary traveller in the desert, so his power, truth, and love, yield the believer the only real protection and refreshment in the weary land through which he journeys to heaven. Christ bore the storm himself, to keep it off from us. To him let the trembling sinner flee for refuge; for he alone can protect and refresh us in every trial. See what pains sinners take in sin; they labour at it, their hearts are intent upon it, and with art they work iniquity; but this is our comfort, that they can do no more mischief than God permits. Let us seek to have our hearts more freed from selfishness. The liberal soul devises liberal things concerning God, and desires that He will grant wisdom and prudence, the comforts of his presence, the influence of his Spirit, and in due time the enjoyment of his glory.
9-20 When there was so much provocation given to the holy God, bad times might be expected. Alas! how many careless ones there are, who support self-indulgence by shameful niggardliness! We deserve to be deprived of the supports of life, when we make them the food of lusts. Let such tremble and be troubled. Blessed times shall be brought in by the pouring out of the Spirit from on high; then, and not till then, there will be good times. The present state of the Jews shall continue until a more abundant pouring out of the Spirit from on high. Peace and quietness shall be found in the way and work of righteousness. True satisfaction is to be had only in true religion. And real holiness is real happiness now, and shall be perfect happiness, that is, perfect holiness for ever. The good seed of the word shall be sown in all places, and be watered by Divine grace; and laborious, patient labourers shall be sent forth into God’s husbandry.

WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.
