Fifth Circuit rules Louisiana schools can post Ten Commandments
NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Louisiana public schools can begin posting the Ten Commandments in classrooms immediately, following a ruling Friday (Feb. 20) by the full U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals against the ACLU.
The decision came roughly a month after the entire Fifth Circuit bench heard oral arguments in the case.
Attorney General Liz Murrill said schools already have what they need to move forward.
“Don’t kill or steal shouldn’t be controversial. My office has issued clear guidance to our public schools on how to comply with the law, and we have created multiple examples of posters demonstrating how it can be applied constitutionally. Louisiana public schools should follow the law,” Murrill said.
Murrill’s office sent compliance guidance to all Louisiana public schools upon the law’s effective date at the start of 2025.

I thought of her yesterday, as we passed through the downtown of a small town, which has in the past thirty years been absorbed into the urban sprawl of the state capital, Columbus.
On four street corners, with about a dozen people or so on each corner, the local retirement homes had apparently dumped some of their residents there to protest against Fascism and Racism and Pedophilia, which nobody would ever support anyway…
…except these people thought that Fascism, Racism, and Pedophilia are personified in President TRUMP, the person who was a friend of Jesse Jackson and just wrote a nice eulogy about him, the person who has been working to stop a fascist dictator in the Ukraine, and the person who reported one of the worst pedophiles in American history to the authorities, as soon as he suspected the man of such crimes.
Comprised mainly of old women and some old men, with a few younger or middle-aged people, the 4 crowds of a dozen or so shrieked and waved signs (“IMPEACH TRUMP” “NO KINGS!” “STOP FASCISM!”) at the traffic.
Nobody honked back at them in support during the (admittedly very short) time, which we spent in the area. As we were leaving, I did hear one car horn, but who knows what it might have meant.
A quick glance at their faces was depressing: so much hatred and anger!
As a septuagenarian, I have warned everyone about the aging hippies in our midst:

Such a beautiful place, Eureka Springs! Our niece was married there two years ago. Didn’t see any crazy folks there then, but we were there with lots of military folks, so maybe the insane ones scurried away.

Thorncrown chapel is there – I’d love to have been wed there, but sadly that took place elsewhere.

That’s where our niece was married. Took lots of photos of the bride and groom both inside and outside looking in. There was a light mist that day and everything had a wonderful shimmer to it.
Fabulous building, fabulous niece, and very expensive fabulous wedding.
Less than one year later they were divorced, so not everything was fabulous that day.
All very, very sad.

In the past week, I learned that 1 of my brothers has acute leukemia, another brother has early stage prostate cancer, and a sister has breast cancer. All in one week! Another sister has had bouts with kidney issues over the past year. Her blood tests showed near kidney failure, but I think she somehow improved thru changed medications. They are 64-74 yo’s. They all took the COVID shot(s). I know this because one sister demanded we all explain our COVID status before we could plan a Christmas gathering in 2021 or 2022. We ended up just zooming anyway. I didn’t take the shot, for the known issues that were being suppressed by MSM. So far, so good on my end. But, I’m sad for my brothers & sisters. None of them has said anything about the clot-shot being a common denominator. They just talk about how ‘we’re all getting to that age’. SMH.

I suspect that you are correct!!
In his excellent book on Mass Formation Psychosis, “The Psychology of Totalitarianism” Mattias Desmet explains that a certain percentage of people (he thinks it is around 30%) who accept narratives that are not true simply WILL NOT give up on their ideas, no matter how much evidence they are shown to the contrary. Because that version of reality has become such an integral part of who they are, and they have invested so much into it, their fragile minds cannot admit that they got duped.
I think many of the people who went ALL IN on the C0v1d scamdemic, just like the people who encouraged their loved ones to “transition” (often the same group) fit this category.
I also believe that a large percentage of women who had an abortion are simply unable to deal with the reality of what they did, and this makes them more susceptible to being emotionally manipulated. (I know many women who are able to have reasonable conversations about their decision and acknowledge that they acted out of fear, or shame, or under pressure from friends or family members. This is NOT the group to which I refer – it is the women who still scream “My Body, My Choice” and absolutely come unglued whenever the subject is mentioned.)
If you were to ask all the crazy radical scream at the sky leftists, “how many shots and boosters have you had?”, you think any one would answer one or none? Is it possible that a secondary goal of the Chinavirus was to develop an army of zombie mental patients dedicated to overthrowing the US?

Ohio State University, of course, had all kinds of professorial influence in pushing Communism, the newspaper was taken over by Communists. Yuppies are now living in overpriced silos near downtown, while – as is typical throughout the country in large cities – the central city collapsed with crumbling streets, poverty, crime, and trash everywhere.
Landlords, local and out-of-state, got zoning laws changed to make single family houses into apartments, ensuring a drop in property values and chasing decent people away.
And where were the REPUBLICANS??? Rolling over, saying ‘Woof!’, and playing dead, us usual!

They did this multi family overbuilding everywhere, all across America. I suspect the builders got grant money of some sort, low income or other DEI type money, to reduce building costs.
It reminds me of when developers buy off city councils to build in flood zones or dry river beds. They build, they sell and it’s not their problem when the inevitable happens.
The Trump admin should act now to make incentives to turn these into condos to sell to first time home buyers or elderly sizing down. That would prevent the bubble from bursting.

Retired Magistrate here: Yes, I am still here. We have been involved in real estate litigation for the last two years where a neighbor has tried to get specific performance of our house and force an immediate sale of our paid for home. Since I have been retired for 15 years now and was a domestic relations magistrate we hired an excellent firm of real estate litigators. The case was settled last Thursday and we are waiting for the final entry. The settlement is something that we can live with and allows us to own our home and stay in it until we decide to sell or both of us pass.
This has been extremely stress on both of us. Last Thursday we were so stressed because the pre trail was coming up and a bench trial on march 17 and 18 so I prayed to GOD for a miracle; three hours later we got a settlement offer and after some tweaking a settlement that we can live with.
As I keep pointing out, anyone can sue anyone and you have to defend or you lose everything. Thank you so much for thinking of me; I really appreciate it.
I assume the town you are talking about is Delaware, Ohio. The same people are out there every Saturday acting like idiots. Delaware, Ohio used to be conservative; however, with all the transplants coming up from Columbus things are changing and not for the better.

We went through arbitration on a real estate transaction several years ago. Extremely stressful. The worse part was, the attorneys were friendly with one another. I have no problem with that, but what I have a problem with is feeling like when they were negotiating with one another on our behalf, it felt like they were discussing what would be our breaking point rather than what was right and fair. There was the ever present threat of, “Well, you know, if it goes to trial, you you end up paying MORE!”
The guy that brought the suit felt like it was a game to him (how much can I push). This happened in CA where everyone is sue happy – like someone will sue you if you sneeze the wrong way.

I don’t mean to pry, but we’re facing circumstances in this area that make me wonder if the same kind of predatory lawfare tactics are being employed here. It’s ugly stuff. I don’t know if there’s a way to protect ourselves from it.

Now we have a runaway indian tribe of fewer than 300 members who are literally sucking the economic life out of the region in league with a newly empowered local government regime funded and backed by federal dollars and no legal accountability whatsoever thanks to claims of tribal sovereignty.
They’ve declared they’re “taking it back” and so far they’ve managed to steamroll the entire county. It’s stunning in its scope and brazenness, and they control local media to the point that there’s always and only one side to the story: theirs.
Scary stuff. Retirees are literally being driven from their homes in some areas, while unfair business advantages create tax-free monopolies that are reshaping the entire region and ripping the area’s traditional social fabric and values up by the roots.
Nasty business.
And we have 176 law schools in our country churning out lawyers every year. Lawyers who think they are all worth more than they are. Too many law schools graduating people with zero skills who think they are all that. There was a case recently in New York where the lawyer used AI for his case and is lucky he didn’t lose his license. AI hallucinated making up 40% of the cases cited. The judge threw out the case, ordered the lawyer to pay the defendant’s legal expenses.
Retired Magistrate here: I really can’t give more details about the case but what I can tell you that while going through all of this my brother died of ALS last year after battling it for three years, my husband has prostate cancer and cardiovascular disease and last year was diagnosed with polymyalgia rheumatica and had to take prednisone for a year which gave him brain fog, my anterior uveitis resulted in damage to the cornea and of course my connective tissue disease didn’t appreciate the added stress.
Thankfully GOD got us through all of this and hopefully we will be able to catch our breath.
Oh my goodness. You’ve been on an extended visit to the valley of the shadow, my dear. I remember you sharing some of that in the past, in particular your brother’s ALS diagnosis, but what you’ve described is an overwhelming amount of struggle. I pray you’ll find peace and wellness now.

I agree with you so much. I have been telling people, occasionally, since Obama took power, that the reason the country is in so much turmoil is that America is tasting the bitter fruit of the “bad hippies.”
