She pointedly refers to the shooting in minnesota yesterday as “another mistake” and seems to embody the “national outrage” she claims grips the public mood right now. This is a wholly unacceptable and one-sided perspective.
Shame on her for failing all journalistic standards by feeding the hysteria and ignoring the facts.
In my opinion, Maria sounds shrill on a good day. But that is due to the voice she was born with – unfortunately. However, she has been on our side, pretty much I think.
Yes, she does get it right sometimes, which makes it very disappointing to see her get it so wrong in this case.
I do know what you mean about her voice. It’s generally not the best for broadcasting, but in this particular case she’s way overwound and high toned. Her delivery was overtly confrontational and dripping with outrage. She failed to acknowledge that there are a huge number of FOX viewers who don’t see the issue the way she does.
I really hope she calms down and gets serious about how she handles this story.

They fired all the experienced newscasters and anyone else over 30 and replaced them with college interns.
I’m sure you can imagine the permanent impact it had on the community. It’s never recovered. It’s news and information environment is now so liberal it pees blue. Conservative views and values are verboten.
Which completely substantiates my comment, above. FOX is just a quieter, softer, (built for ‘conservatives’) version of the same message portrayed by the other soap box outlets (ABC, NBC, et al.). Once you quit pretending, and look a little closer, you will see it.

We’ve got to get out of this whole narrative of Alex Pretti as a “Good Guy”. It is bogus. He left home that morning with the intent to kill.
We know that because he had the choice 1) to take no weapon; 2) take an unloaded gun to use as a theater prop; 3) take a gun and two cartridges loaded with live ammunition to kill. And then there was the decision NOT to take any paper ID. That made no sense because he was a Federal employee with a security badge allowing him to enter a federal facility. To get that badge, his fingerprints were on file in the FBI database. Just one reason Patel is involved.
To kill whom? 1) Other protesters not previously reported as carrying firearms; 2) anti-protesters, ditto; 3) armed federal officials collecting and detaining illegal criminal aliens.
We see in the various videos as ICE/CBP attempts to apprehend Jose Huerta-Chuma, the ICE/CBP group is set upon by protesters with their cameras, then whistles, to disrupt their mission. We see a woman up in the face of one Fed get shoved to the ground. We see Pretti intervening, first with his camera and then shoving his way through to assist the woman on the ground. The other Feds pull him back against his resistance, he is spun and taken to the ground still fighting for release.
At some point in the melee his Sig-Sauer is revealed showing his intent and he is shot, not knowing if he could have another concealed weapon on his person.
Sympathy has its place, but Occam says “not here”.
I usually like Maria’s questions but in this interview she seems to be saying the shooting wasn’t justified and taking the side of the left. Patel, too much bs imo, we never hear what the fib is actually doing on the ground or if they’re effective at all. I remember, as only one example of many, a young female college Dean’s list student with no previous criminal record who trespassed on J6. She was put through the DOJ meat grinder where a DC judge sentenced her to 4 months in prison. She had probably served that sentence before Trump pardons. The Dems can brutalize and imprison Republicans, Christians, and conservatives and no problem with ruining lives on the right, yet when GOP is in power the left can do anything and nothing but a “strongly worded letter” from the DOJ. Historically FBI is the lead agency in any Assault on Federal Agent case, first right of refusal. If FBI declines prosecution another agency can take up the case. Going to an outside agency for investigation makes sense to avoid conflict of interest allegations.
Did FBI decline prosecution? In this instance Homeland Security Investigations, part of DHS along with Border Patrol and Enforcement Removal is the lead. A potential conflict of interest in future proceedings.
Come to your own conclusions, but I sense Kash is trying to distance himself and FBI when a Cavalry charge in needed. I hope not. I hope there are larger moves in play, but hope is not a strategy.

Hey, kash, since the top men never achieve results that amount to anything, put one or two low echelon people on it.
Why not try sending the agents that don’t give AF. They might be more effective than what we’ve seen so far. Just saying.
Frankly, the incident in which Pretti was killed was a clusterfu–. He went to the aid of a female protestor who was pushed to the ground by ICE (not saying the push wasn’t justified). The agents attempted to take him into custody, and he resisted. Not a smart move. He was legally carrying a handgun and 2 magazines. He was disarmed and–apparently–his firearm discharged while in the possession of the officer. Someone then shot and killed Pretti.
Carrying your handgun to a potentially violent demonstration is certainly imprudent; resisting LE is illegal. But there’s not a death penalty for that. He did not brandish the gun. So what we seem to have is a very chaotic and confused attempt to take Pretti into custody; he resists; officers yell “Gun!”; Pretti is disarmed, but confusion persists, and when his gun is discharged accidentally by one officer, another thinks Pretti still has it and shoots him.
It would be good if cooler heads prevailed and simply said that this shooting is being investigated and that the shooter is meanwhile on administrative leave, which is the norm after any such shooting.
