On Wednesday, a confrontation between ICE agents and an aggressive anti-ICE protester in Minneapolis resulted in the ICE officer defending himself while a vehicle was weaponized against him. The female driver named Renee Nicole Macklin Good (37) was shot and killed.
Antifa aligned activists have been chasing and trying to disrupt immigration enforcement operations throughout the Minneapolis area. Leftist Mayor Frey and Minnesota Governor Walz are using the ICE shooting to stir up anxiety and take attention away from the rampant fraud recently outlined in the state.
DHS secretary Kristi Noem held a press conference to address the shooting.

I agree with Marcia’s analysis to a degree, but would go further. Let’s look at the following
video.
Starting around the 9 second mark, watch the front wheels of her vehicle, they are turning away from the agent, not towards him. This indicates that she was not trying to strike the agent, but to flee the scene. If the driver was trying to strike the agent, she would not have turned her wheels to the right, but turned them in the direction of the agent.
Also, the agent placed himself partially in front of the car when the vehicle started moving, yet decades ago we started training law enforcement officers not to intentionally place themselves into a position of jeopardy and then use the situation they created, as justification for the use of force.
Does the video show the agent being knocked down or even loosing his footing on the icy street from making contact withe vehicle?
What the video shows is the agent firing one shot as the vehicle moves forward rightward, away from him, the agent stepping out of the path of the vehicle and then firing two shots into the vehicle as it passes.
Normally an attentive officer/agent, finding himself in such a situation would simply step out of the way of the escaping vehicle, not firing shots at the vehicle. Here is a fact often overlooked in these situations, a handgun round will not stop a moving vehicle and firing at the driver could result with the vehicle careening down the street should the driver was hit, as was the case in this incident.
The following photo shows when the second and third shots were fired through the open driver’s window, striking the driver in the head.
Was the agent under threat at this time at the time he fired these last two shots?
The video shows the driver committed multiple violations, refused to comply with the agent’s orders and tried to escape arrest by driving off. None of which warranted the agent firing the shots that killed the driver. With that being said, the agent is supposed to be the trained professional. We train our law enforcement officers on to how to use good tactics and make sound decisions, sadly this incident did not reflect that training goal.
This incident is being discussed on a member only local police site. What I’ve been describing are the views of experience professionals, most having over thirty years experience, not the “official” narrative that is being created about this incident. It was a tragedy for all involved.

The officer was standing in front of her vehicle when she put the transmission back into Drive and striking the officer who had to jump away after being struck. He pulled his firearm after seeing the vehicle lurch as it was put in Drive.
She could have slowly reversed, and then turned her car so the agents could drive through.

As I understand it, the only time lethal force is ever justified is if a reasonable person, in the situation of the shooter, would feel their life or the lives of others are in imminent and otherwise unavoidable danger. Also, as I understand it, that applies to both law-enforcement officers and ordinary citizens equally.

Retired Magistrate here: Back in my former life I was in law enforcement. Yes, in a situation like this you do go in with your guns pulled. There is no time to second guess what she might be doing and by the time you have figured it out you are wounded or dead.

There was an ICE agent at the drivers side of her car with his hand on the car; the drivers window was down and she was trying to get away from the ICE Agent. Another ICE Agent was in front of her vehicle and she was going to drive right into him. Not really enough time to jump out of the way. The ICE Agent did what he was trained to do.
Whenever I did a traffic stop, I always had my hand on my holster because during my training we were shown videos of officers who strolled up to a stopped vehicle and went directly to the side window and were gut shot.

Most of the videos of the shooting that I’ve seen do not show the shooter being hit by the car. They make it look like the car barely hit the officer.
There is a video showing the officer being pushed by the car. I can’t find it now, sorry. This video was from the front of the car. It is much more conclusive than most of the videos being shown.
You can see him limping in the videos.

The diver’s side window is also down, did subsequent shots enter via that window too? From what my ears heard, three discharges from a presumed firearm took place. The windshield testifies to one in that location.
Also – did she die because of the gunshots, and / or due to the impact of the crash afterwards … also, what does toxicology reveal was in her bloodstream (i.e. drugs, alcohol, THC, etc.)?

Where is the backup? I get that state and local are completely hands off, but why are these teams always so greatly outnumbered by the enemy?
