Boy, do I need the sense of peace these 2 videos evoke today!

We had a new HVAC system installed a few weeks ago. Today, they are using a pumped in agent that seals any breaches in the ductwork. So……I am sequestered with the kitties in an area of our house that is on a separate heating /cooling system. I don’t want them exposed to any harmful chemicals. (though they assure me it’s completely non-toxic). Color me skeptical. 😁
The “catcophany” is spectacular- the squabbles, yowling, crying, etc is mind blowing. And only 5 more hours to go! I will need to scroll back to your past offerings to usher me through. As always, thanks for all you do! ❤️

Biography: Previously the Governor of Georgia, peanut farmer, and naval officer, Carter defeated Gerald Ford in the 1976 presidential election.

During his term in office he pardoned all evaders of the Vietnam War draft and created two new cabinet-level departments, the Department of Energy and the Department of Education. He established national energy policy which included conservation, price controls and new technology.

In foreign policy, Carter secured the Camp David Accords which established peace between Israel and Egypt, and conducted arms limitation negotiations with the Soviet Union. Carter lost re-election after the economy entered a state of persistent “stagflation” and an energy crisis caused severe shortages at home. The last period of his presidency was marked by the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, the Three Mile Island nuclear reactor crisis, and the Iran hostage crisis.

Carter had the longest presidential retirement of any president. He worked to advance causes of peace, affordable housing, human rights, and fair elections. In 2002 he won the Nobel Peace Prize for his work with the Carter Center for “his decades of untiring effort to find peaceful solutions to international conflicts, to advance democracy and human rights, and to promote economic and social development”.

Health department codes on refrigerated or frozen items are very specific that they must be discarded.

For things that I have to discard after 7 days, at least I can eat them if I so desire (and never got sick from them) but if I give it to someone else to consume, should they get sick (by not consuming immediately), I would be liable… so not going to happen.

It’s a government rules thing, damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

And as for being fired for employees removing discarded foodstuffs, it is a theft issue as things will be discarded with the intent to come back to get them such as expensive meats being the #1 theft item. Lots of resources for food handling businesses as to what employees will do that you must watch for.

That’s why alot of businesses have locked access to dumpsters with only manager access with the key.

From the looks of it, that open top dumpster was dropped off for that specific purpose of a cooler failure due to volume.

And only seven short weeks away.

Idaho – this is actually our flag a few days ago at dawn – “dawn’s early light.”

The dogs were having fun!

If I hung a rack in a tree around here the squirrels would gnaw it to nothing.

The best buck I ever got was a decent ten pointer. The body was big, the rack was ok.

I took the advice of a guy at work in trying to do a European mount.

He said “tie a rope to it and toss it in a pond for a few months, the fish will take care of it”.

So I did.

Welllllll…….

Maybe my buddy’s pond didn’t have enough fish! After three months I pulled that mess out of the pond and tossed it rrrrrright back.

Three months after that, the skull was picked clean.

Annoyingly, the skull was stained from the mud. So I put it in the sun for awhile to bleach out.

Never did quite get the color I wanted. The same guy who told me about the pond trick said to rub used motor oil on the rack and it would stain it enough to reverse the bleaching of the sun. I never did. I think I’ll do that in the spring if I get the chance, and I’ll try to figure out something to uniformly color the skull to what it should be. Like I said, the mud in the pond stained it differently than I wanted.

You’ve got a good place to camp and shoot there, and a couple of happy dogs, enjoy it!

This is a small book, but it is a pure gem. The author’s love for God and His Church shines through it.

I have had the privilege of meeting native-Greek speakers who can read, write, and speak multiple versions of the language in Holy Scriptures and pronounce it correctly.

Dr. Constantine Cavarnos was one of those men. He explained why, in English, using Thee, Thy, Thou and so forth is theologically and grammatically correct and appropriate still for modern people.

The two codexes you list are the oldest intact Greek scriptures that we have today.

But that is not the same as the earliest used. Nor the true copies of what was originally written.

The Bible was more of a process than an event.

OT, was mostly an accepted set of scrolls by the time of Alexander, not a book.
The church used a Greek translation from 3rd and second century BC and the earliest version we have is basically from ~400 AD.
The Jewish community have Hebrew in the Masoretic text from ~1000 AD.
The Dead Sea Scrolls, 2nd century BC to 1st century AD, are a mixture with most being nearly the same as the Masoretic.
Even before we found the Dead Sea Scrolls, the Greek translation was considered unreliable and the Masoretic more reliable because of the painstaking efforts made to copy and check copies. But some scrolls do seem like Hebrew versions of the Greek.
And the Dead Sea Scrolls include other languages and non canonical writings.

The NT developed over some time. Of course people argue over the details. The first we have a record of is considered a heresy about 130 AD by Marcion. He was excommunicated in 144 AD and lots of Church fathers wrote about him.. (No OT, 10 edited letters of Paul, and selected excerpts of Luke.) Over the years since, different Church fathers discussed various individual books as worthy or hoaxes. Eventually someone named Athanasius, 367 AD, compiled the list we now use. It was decided as official in the First Council of Constantinople, 381 AD And finished in 382 AD by the Council of Rome. And confirmed in several subsequent Councils. Though lots of stuff comes and goes from various more modern versions.

Just for reference, Codexes were invented in the 1st century AD. Without that invention we wouldn’t have books. And we would probably mean a collection of accepted scrolls, not the Bible we mean today.

And the order of books changes. Also NT order has vastly different reasoning. Don’t trust people who claim significance
of being at the end.

The Councils, and frankly, most scrolls and books passed around the churches, were mostly in Greek. Jerome wanted a version in Latin that the common people could read. He did that around 400 AD. That is the Vulgate. It is deeply ironic that people who used The Vulgate protested the translations to later languages of the people. The Roman empire Ruled in Latin, but in the East it ruled in Greek and Latin.

Just to get a feel for the lack of survivability, the oldest known intact, complete Latin Vulgate is the Codex Amiatinus from 716 AD.

There are also other ancient translations surviving. Syriac, Coptic. The sinaiticus while oldest is Greek. Some Coptic and Syriac versions, copies from Greek, predate the known Greek versions.

There is a lot to look into. If you want a Greek version, here is a scholar discussing the scholarly output from studying the early versions. https://ianwscott.blog/2022/05/19/which-greek-new-testament-should-i-use/ There is a long history of what Greek version was accepted and used for translations, and how that changed over time. Note that that scholar argues that some passages aren’t supported by the earliest versions. See his section on textus receptus, the source used in the KJV.

Wycliffe (before 1400) and Tyndale (~1530) are early English versions. The Pilgrims used the Geneva Bible (1560 & 1599). It had comments in the margins that were seen as attacks on English Kings and Churches. The KJV was in part a propaganda effort and became the only Bible allowed to be printed in England. So it took over from the Geneva in America. Each had their own sources to rely on. Modern Bible translations are some mix of all of the above.

Hope that helps. I find all this fascinating. And disturbing that there are multiple versions. Hebrew, Greek, Syriac, Coptic, Latin, and even multiple versions in the Greek. But we also have much older fragments and the Church Fathers quoted many scriptures before they became official.

If you too are fascinated you can spend a lot of time digging in to it. Be careful. There are also many disputes. And anything from scholars changed yesterday and will change tomorrow. Not exactly something to put faith into.

The tanks in Hungary 1956 and in Czechoslovakia 1968 were very real.

So were the ones used to beat the Germans 1941-1945.

No clue about Moscow parades.

Go down to the local farm and ranch store and purchase ivermectin horse wormer paste. Double check it only has ivermectin and no other wormer ingredients. Put small amount like being very frugal when using tooth paste brushing teeth on a tsp and take for 1 to 3 days once a day.
I am not a doctor but this kills cold and flu virus just like it does covid 19 virus. There is a small risk involved since this is medication for animals and not people of other contamination. The earlier you treat with this the more effective at lessening the effects of the cold or flu it will be.

Alternative better solution is seek out a doc who will prescribe people ivermectin or HCQ and obtain that.

Keep this on hand for emergencies because even today the docs and ERs etc will not prescribe anything effective for flu.

You may find probiotics beneficial after treatment……and one thing is certain, you will also be parasite free!
