I’d bet there are “Wins” by the many we have yet to be aware of.
There is a massive lose looming on the horizon…possibly the event horizon…it’s energy, specifically in California. Oil refiners are pulling out due to legislative harassment similar to the early environmentalist activities (Soviet sponsored) which made USA dependent on Middle Eastern oil which led to the energy shocks and inflation of the 70’s and 80’s…
Making the long story short…and hoping Sundance and crew pick up on this…my belief is that the long game of the energy struggles is to have China as the supplier of refined fuels from the west coast to the Rocky Mountains…the western United States.
An energy crisis is being created…national security is being compromised by the shuttering of oil production and refining capacity west of the rockies.
Sorry to be a grinch on Christmas but leftists, CCP and embedded domestic and foreign enemies don’t celebrate the birth of Christ…they scheme and manipulate.

Maybe you or another Treeper remembers a small news blurb that came out after the fall of the Soviet Union.
If I remember correctly, those same sponsors wanted to hobble the Western economies.
Their thoughts were to lable carbon dioxide as a pollutant, using their influence in education and media.
The logic was that pretty much any and all economic activities emitted carbon dioxide.
By causing carbon dioxide to be regulated as a pollutant, all economic activities could be hobbled. Thus crippling the West.
I have memories of it, I just haven’t been able to find it.

I know things take time…as an average working person in the peoples republic of IL, we could use some lower energy prices.
Was near Peoria yesterday, on US 6…saw a CAT plant…empty but I think they were ‘off’. as it looked nice and clean, no weeds etc..also saw some, many actually, old and decrepit steel plants, and one old, old really old…did I say ‘old’…. budling with what appeared to be ancient and very broken windows, walls caved in, a real mess….
I did see gasoline for 2.79 a gallon….near Canton. Much higher, nearer to Chicago.
And windmill farms are still around…
I grew up in Southern Illinois, and I was happy to leave for Colorado before I was married and came back after. I was happy again to leave permanently in 1983 and gave birth to my daughter in Texas. We have moved around a lot, following the jobs. So happy to be in NC, where the gas the other day was $2.39. It varies by county here. Good luck to you all. Down state from Chicago the roads were/are horrible. I do worry about my previous home state. Merry Christmas, Aggie…hoping for some radical change for good in 2026 in Illinois.
