According to breaking news, Hollywood actor and director Rob Reiner (78) and his wife Michele Singer Reiner (70) were murdered in their Los Angeles home by their son, Nick Reiner.
Rob Reiner was very politically involved and extremely anti-Trump. His son is reported to have a long history of problems with drug issues and mental instability.
Hollywood Reporter – […] Reiner and his wife, 70, were found dead in their home on Chadbourne Avenue, with the couple “suffering lacerations consistent with a knife,” law enforcement sources told TMZ. The Los Angeles Fire Department had been called to their house at about 3:30 p.m., and LAPD Robbery Homicide Division detectives were investigating. (source)
People Magazine – Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were killed by their son, Nick, multiple sources confirm to PEOPLE.
On Sunday, Dec. 14, at about 3:30 p.m., the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) was called to a home to provide medical aid, the LAFD told PEOPLE. Upon arrival, they found a man, 78, and a woman, 68, dead. Sources confirm the victims were Rob and Michele.
Rob is a director, producer and actor whose career includes some of Hollywood’s most beloved films — from his 1984 directorial debut, This Is Spinal Tap, to Stand by Me (1986), The Princess Bride (1987), When Harry Met Sally… (1989), Misery (1990) and A Few Good Men (1992). (read more)

If I remember correctly Riener directed “The Princess Bride”. I will remember him for that, great movie.
I think I’m the only person I know of who did not like that movie.
That’s okay I haven’t seen it or if I have I can’t remember it..
I didn’t either. Not my cup of tea.
Made a point to never watch anything Rob Reiner was involved in since about 1980
My late wife. She also DISPISED “Groundhog Day”. Her alltime favorite?”Meatballs”.
NEVER knew what review I’d hear after a movie. We both loved “Amelie”
Princess Bride never held my attention. I found it boring.
However, the Reiner family’s tragedy hits close to home. It reminds me of small business owners in a nearby town who were recently murdered by their drug-addicted son. Years prior, in the same town, a young policeman was killed answering a call for help with a combative, drug-addicted son. My daughter was nearly run down at her school bus stop by a deranged addict.
Drug addiction is a scourge on humanity. Tributes and meaningless platitudes don’t cut it.
One might expect that Hollyweird elite like Reiner, who know firsthand whereof I speak, would put their money where their mouth is to support the Trump Administration’s war against drug traffickers, but I won’t hold my breath. These aren’t rational people.
I remember him as Meathead….and he will always be that to me!
That character truly mimicked real life sadly.
The actors and writers made that movie what it is today.
Reiner was a very talented person. One can say that without agreeing with him on politics. I do love that movie.
My favorite line from that movie (possibly because I raised 3 sons lol): “Bye bye boys – have fun storming the castle!”
I don’t care about politics right now in this case, even though he was the polar opposite of my values system, this is tragic and shocking.
So a far-left zealot raised a mentally ill junkie. What are the odds? Wasn’t Carroll O’Connor’s son a mentally ill junkie suicide?
Charlize Theron and Jamie Lee Curtis are raising their kids to be mentally ill as well. Is there something LA’s water?
Yes, suicide.
Pastors too, sometimes, have horrendous children.
Around here cops and judges kids sometimes were the biggest law breakers.
Obviously, you’ve never met any PKs.
Preacher’s kid. If I wanted to smoked dope, drink, get into trouble, I would
invariably be in the vicinity of a PK when it happened.
Also cops’ kids.
As do many in the psych professions. In terms of children brought up in strict religious households they always say that the Devil likes to attack the heavenly minded but perhaps there’s another explanation?
Angela Landsbury had a teenager who became very troubled and was on drugs. She moved her family to Ireland for safekeeping and so that this child might have a new chance. To my knowledge, things worked out for them and she later went on to star in “Murder, She Wrote”.
only thing I can watch on TV these days.
My friend was her neighbor and she was rumored to be a wonderful person
No, it’s their world view and philosophy. Raising children and teaching them that everything is relative, there is no right and wrong, men can be women and women can be men–it leads to meaninglessness, a vapid world where nothing matters. Sin leads to death.
Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone” (John 8:7)
Total mis-application of the verse. You managed to misquote it too.
Is there something LA’s water? LSD since the ’60s
My response is the response heard after Charlie Kirk’s assassination and the attempt on President Trump’s life ‘moving on…’
Lowering one’s self to their level is not a good look.
So what becomes the difference.
Am I dancing on their graves or inciting violence like the cheerleading elites?‘Moving on’ is showing the same indifference I’ve seen from socialists when they aren’t blaming the victim while excusing the perpetrator(s). To my horror, I’ve heard far too many people support political violence ever since President Trump was elected in 2016. There is an indifference, a dismissive attitude to political violence and assassination when used to achieve the political goals of the ‘progressives’. If that is ‘lowering myself’ then I say ‘good’. My favourite hymn is ‘Onward Christian soldiers’ so no quarter will be given.
There are reports that Reiner said that no one should die that way in response to Charlie’s assassination. Let’s not be like “them.”
RIP Rob and Michele. Especially knowing you will be voting for the Marxist Democrat party for eternity.
They wish….
Rob Reinier called Trump and the Right a threat to life but instead it came from his mentally ill and drug addicted (read Left-raised) son.
I wonder, as life drained away, and Rob started to see the fires of Hell, did he think, “this is Trump’s fault!”?
No doubt!
Interestingly, the “gnashing of teeth” reference to Hell’s permanent residents is the same Hebrew word used when the Pharisees came at Jesus for His Truthful sayings. It’s a rabid growl, not a “biting the leather” in pain response.
The Bible teaches that the people in Hell will be rabidly angry at God and murderous in their threats and intent. There is no remorse in Hell, and no repentance. Meathead is likely there now and forever cursing God and His Son.
We’ll never know!
It truly distresses me when I read unkind comments about Rob Reiner and his wife Michele’s murder. As one who values life as a Conservative and a Christian for over 80 years, I would like to believe that those commenting on this site would have a concern that rises above the evil thoughts and deeds of the Left. Was not the murder of Charlie Kirk and attempted murder of President Trump enough to bring us all to our knees and seeking forgiveness for our hatred of those who differ in their beliefs?
What is wrong with all of those who cannot see what they are thinking and saying is no different than Kyle Robinson killing Charlie! I implore all those who come to Sundance’s site to look at their heart and change their hatred to a more Godly response. What good are you doing by continuing to repeat the acts of killing another person with your heart and your words? I want to hear your response to my question, please~
I’ll reply. Honestly, I talked to a couple of people at the gym this morning who are conservatives. Their initial reactions were all the same. We grew up with All in the Family and Stand By Me. I felt bad. But Rob Reiner’s political views never changed, or that show, from 50 years ago. Listen to what the actor and writers talk about is the same thing liberals talk about today. That show is running on METV every Sunday night. I rewatched the entire series. Now, what does that mean? Nothing.
But, if you are looking for all people to have a more “Godly response”, I don’t think that is possible these days. All you have to do is look at all the, mostly, hateful comments about his death. There is also a video I watched this morning with him and his son where his son says that he and his father didn’t have the best of relationships early on in his life. What does that mean? Also, nothing. Was that a reason for his son to take his parents lives, hardly. The only person who needs to hold that view now is the son. It looks like he is responsible and should find god if that is what you think, or moreover, what he needs too.
As for me, I’m over it already. It had nothing to do with me. Most people will go on living their lives and this is a blip on their radar screen. Compassion? I don’t see that happening for this guy. Sorry, it’s the best I can do.
Thank you for your honest response~
you are quite welcome……..
I will also respond by saying nothing of the Reiner’s but that you and Todd W had great thoughts on this incident.
Conservatives virtue signal as well as the Left, sometimes. Nauseating.
I agree. I remember hearing on 9/10 that Charlie had been shot. No word about his condition yet. I wasn’t clued into the news that it was in the neck and very serious. This was a ‘where was I on 9/11?’ moment for me, so I remember my reaction well. I thought of what happened to PDJT, and thought maybe it’s just a ‘graze’ wound, or shot in the arm or something (hopeful thoughts).
FF to last night. I was watching my fave youtubers, and somehow this live-stream of a conservative YT from LA (named Luis) came onto my youtube feed. The title was something like ‘2 bodies found at home owned by Rob Reiner’. Here was my reaction last night: 1) I wonder if he lived there, or are these tenants? The listed the victims’ ages, and my mind went to ‘can Reiner be 78?’ My mind was actually rooting for the victim being Reiner, vs. someone renting his home.
I agree it’s sh!tty to wish that, but that’s how it went for me.
The problem is that Reiner knowingly supported the policies and actions of decision-makers (may even have campaigned for or donated to) that ultimately led to murder, sex trafficking, drug violence, etc. Somewhere in all of that is a thread of moral culpability. These were not one time events for him – they were a consistent feature of his entire adult life.
Carolynn they have been trying to force feed us their insanity for decades and when it turns around and bites them in the ass I should be concerned? Rob Reiner could have lived a different life but he threw it all away in his insanity. I can pity for a tortured soul but that is as far as I go. He chose his path.
Grandma’s rule now engaged.
He enjoyed alot of privilege. Yet seemed to me to have been a nut case. He was deranged by politics. Same with that other nut case De Niro.
“Was not the murder of Charlie Kirk and attempted murder of President Trump enough to bring us all to our knees and seeking forgiveness for our hatred of those who differ in their beliefs?”
who are the “us” you are referring to in that statement?
most of the “us” on this site are already on our knees praying to God every day for this country, for Pres Trump, and for civility and kindness; especially of course because we are Christians and conservatives.
the people that have to “seek forgiveness for their hatred” are clearly the ones who are committing the violence (hint: NOT the conservative Christians).
Carolynn,
I am striving to keep a godly attitude in my responses here and at other sites.
And this is, as always, a horrible event when parents are killed by their children or groups of people ar attacked and killed by other groups in a civilized society.
Nonetheless, the Bible doesn’t mince words about how the wicked meet their ends. Reiner’s vitriol and hatred that he regularly spouted into the media and who he obviously supported and viciously opposed does not appear to place him among the Chosen Ones.
I only grieve that he has lost the opportunity to repent for his hate-filled life and to find salvation.
No one will miss his voice in the Hollywood chorus of America-haters.
I was shocked at what came out of his mouth, disappointed in him and tuned him out. I read an article earlier today where mom Michelle Singer Reiner had stated that they listened to the “professionals” because they were at a loss to help their son. She said that they should have listened to the son not the professionals and she believed that the professionals didn’t help their son just caused more harm. I do believe that failure to have proper supportive relationship with a young child can ruin lives but we had plenty of that with prior generations and those children didn’t all turn out bad. When I heard the news I was curious to know what went wrong and I still don’t know. Many articles but no answers. I wonder if the son “Nick” resented his father making a movie out of the situation and making bank from his misery and possibly thinking that he had redeemed himself as a father with the movie. Even though the son participated in making that movie his problems persisted plaguing him.
Turning the other cheek for the evil ones for far too long has brought us to this end.
Our Creator gave us hearts to love with, brains to reason with, and souls to prepare for eternity. He also gave us hands to act with as faith without action is meaningless.
The evil will not remove itself from civilization. It must be ended and pearl-clutching, hand-wringing politeness has failed miserably.
Time to put on the full Armor of God and go full-on Old Testament against the evil.
Carolynn, Rob is demonstrating God’s Law of Reaping: You reap what you sow, more than you sow and later than you sow.
No one is celebrating his death but lets not pretend that Reiner didnt have
severe TDS which he did.. and that many, not all but many Famous Hollywood
people have messed up kids they do..they themselve have messed up lives which
is why it is even worse when they get on thier high horse and pretend that they
have the moral high ground when many of then have skewed if any morals themselves
Did Reiner and his wife deserve to die.. No..it it sad it was at the hands of their own
son.. of course. But the fact is that Reiner and many of his cohorts do in fact suffer
severe TDS and MAGA Hate…and there is nothing wrong with acknowledging that a
person who openly hated many of us just for who we voted for..
I don’t indulge in suicidal empathy. Thoughts, speech and written words are very different to the physical act of murder. In my opinion, the public murder/assassination, for political ends, of a speaker while he was engaged with an audience using his thoughts and speech, is incomparable.
The son has dead eyes in that photo. No news on whether he is arrested or on the lam. Strange.
They just report the deaths and go straight in to list his films. Bizarre. Like Gene Hackman.
Revelation 21:1-5
Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea.
Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.
And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.”
Never liked the guy, long before politics. This is a tragedy for any family to have to endure. He certainly did not seem to be at peace in life. May he finally find peace now. And, Still Love Trump!
When life becomes so cheap this is what we end up with. Both Brown University shooting and this have the same tread that runs through it. Law enforcement is so concerned about the political perspective the victims become secondary.
Further expanding on it, look at Ukraine. The only one that is upset about thousands being killed is President Trump.
The father of lies has humans so desensitized to killing no one cares anymore.
Galatians 5:19-26 NKJV
Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, [20] idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, [21] envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. [22] But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, [23] gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. [24] And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. [25] If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. [26] Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.
I support the WHOA!-alition of the killing not the Coalition of the willing. Being stabbed to death by your own son is a terrible and violent tragedy which I would not wish on anyone.
I would have died of heartbreak before the final wound was inflicted.
Well YOU have a heart and soul. Reiner didn’t seem to.
Whoa! Perhaps this is why so many are devoted to flawed logic to virtue signal a part of humanity that they do not possess!
Without any doubt. Amen.
An excellent quote.
It’s beyond sad that Rob Reiner died in bitterness and strife by the hand of his own son. There is history there that all of us can learn from. There are no perfect fathers – none – but there are things that men can do to pour into sons and daughters that mitigate the weakness of imperfect fatherhood. It’s never too late to be a part of healing family wounds. The demons that tormented Rob’s son were not the father’s – each man is responsible for how he responds to life. But there are lessons to learn for fathers – there is much that we can do to influence and heal our sons. My hope is that this event might be a catalyst for more men to explore that pathway.
No great loss. I bet he cheered Charlie Kirk’s assassination.
Actually, apparently he didn’t cheer Charlie Kirks assassination.
https://x.com/AndrewKolvet/status/2000422293294707079?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E2000422293294707079%7Ctwgr%5Efcce971715f29eb686dd991a1656b7a0cc63042e%7Ctwcon%5Es1_c10&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.foxnews.com%2Flive-news%2Frob-reiner-iconic-hollywood-director-and-star-of-all-in-the-family-dead-at-78
Everybody should watch Rob Reiner’s statement about the Charlie Kirk murder in the link above.
He didn’t. You should repent of that statement.
Whether he did or didn’t….I personally choose to be different that anyone who would be so full of hate that they would think a son murdering his parents is “no great loss”.
I just can’t bring myself to that place.
Hell of a way to go out. Reiner got his son into rehab 17 times. Obviously, Nick liked drugs more than he liked being normal.
Well, he’ll be in rehab the rest of his sad life now, behind bars.
They have plenty access inside.
Regardless of how you feel about his political beliefs, this is the tragic reality of the power drugs have on our society. Trump can blow up all the drug supply boats in the sea, as long as the overwhelming american demand exist, drugs will find their way to our children. This is not something to gloat over.
“The Devil went down to…Hollywood…. He was lookin’ for a soul to steal. He was in a bind ’cause he was way behind and he was willing to make a deal.”
I think I recognize a pattern in the entertainment industry (and the acme of most all human endeavors) where great success is often accompanied by great tragedy. Sometimes the highly successful person themselves, but more often their offspring. It’s almost as if their current or future children are the offering, the sacrifice for the lost bet.
Trans, addicts, whores, murderer/murdered, suicide, whatever the Devil decides when he collects his due.
It’s almost as if when aspiring musicians, (or actors, politicians, corporate honchos, doctors, clergy, etc) want to rise to become the best, widely-acclaimed, wealthy, to win their fiddle made of gold they’re not as good as Johnny, and their souls, the souls of their offspring become due and payable at a time of the Devil’s choosing.
Just a pattern I’m noticing.
Hollywood perverts, and murders.
Look what they did to Anissa Jones.
Porned her out in Season One, Episode 2.
She never recovered. Corey Feldman.
Cory Haines.
Etc., etc., etc.,
Cory Haim.
Reiner was insufferable. I’m not going to celebrate his death like the liberal d bags did when Charlie Kirk died.
While I disagreed with his political point-of-view, I cannot imagine the horror that Reiner and his wife felt realizing that their son was murdering them. That is tragic for them and for the siblings of the drug addict, alleged murdering son.
President Trump raised decent and strong sons. I cannot say anything good about Rob Reiner parenting skill. He got what he sow.
Sad to see some of the comments here. You are better than that-better than those who responded to Charlie’s murder in a sick and unsympathetic way. Don’t allow yourself to stoop to that level. The guy really was a meathead but let it go at that. Matthew 7:1
Reiner’s TDS was a tool of the CIA. He was an asset. Outed by Mike Benz research back in 2023, and much of that info being reposted today by him and Scott Adams and others. I hooe his son was not MK ultra manipulated. Strange that their hiuse has been “off-limits” to investigation. Needs wiped clean furst?
There is nothing wrong with acknowledging that fact that Rob Reiner hated us
for who we voted for he had severe TDS and openly posted hateful things about
POTUS and MAGA.. Are we suppose to pretend (doesn;t Sundance always remind us
about pretending) otherwise. That they died is sad that ir was at the hand of thier own
son even more sad but it doesn;t change the fact that he hated us for who we voted for.
SSRI’s
Isn’t it interesting how many of these Unholywood elites who think they know more than us and should be listened to don’t seem to be able to raise their own families and kids and have multiple issues……and yet lecture us on choices we should make.
Rosie is another one who should really get some mental help and then try to help those kids of hers she has screwed up!
Not all but many in Hollywood have thier own screwed up lives and thier kids are screwed
and they have skewed if any morals.. but they get on thier high horse and act like they are
superior to us… why would anyone listen to them..
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen
I watched All in the Family with my grandparents and I still enjoy watching. It is an 11. Plus getting lost in Cleveland is hysterical. Also an 11.
He gave us some classic moments.
I always wondered if Reiner was an atheist in real life similar to Michael Stivic, the character he played so convincingly on All in the Family. Does anyone know?
Some of the funniest, yet illuminating scenes on All in the Family were about the views on religion.
Found this….https://www.wionews.com/photos/-i-m-jewish-but-believe-in-jesus-why-rob-reiner-praised-charlie-kirk-s-wife-just-before-his-own-death-1765799959602/1765799959604
If it is true that Rob Reiner had found God before his death then I am elated for him. Would that all us sinners find our way to eternal salvation!
Rob Reiner had a terrible fear of Donald Trump who was far distant and never a threat to him. Meanwhile the REAL murderous threat to Rob and his wife was RIGHT THERE BESIDE HIM.
There is none so blind as him who WILL not see.
Excellent point!
Can someone define what a * c eye ehh* asset actually is… Asking in all honesty? I read all the time this one or that one is/was an asset… Have no clue what that means or what their actual role is/would be.
I could care less. They created and encouraged the garbage that ended them.
removed because my comment is on wrong thread re: Rob Reiner.
If he knew anyone posting here and their politics he’d celebrate your death. I’ll just shrug his off.
TMZ: “Rob was 78. Michele was 68.”
I once met the teenaged son of a famous movie producer/director, was at his Beverly Hills home–his sister Oliivia wandered around with a long black dress and a rose in her teeth–and then met some of his other teenaged friends in a very tony Beverly Hills area. They all seemed out of it and purposeless and dead. Then he had me drive him to the nearby beach at night where they all just sat on the sand with a few fires in the dark. No music, no dancing, just a death-like atmosphere. I felt lucky to get out of there alive because this was the “less than zero” crowd that book was written about.
Fractured families are always a tragedy A family without Christ and God’s saving grace is the worst tragedy of all. I’m sure I would not miss most of Hollywood if they were beamed up to another planet, but I remind myself that God loves sinners and wants so much to save them for His glory. He doesn’t love me anymore or less than He loves them.
The love of God amazes me. His Love is truly without condition. I’m so glad I became a child of His( by accepting Christ as my Lord and Savior) at the ripe old age of 50. Best thing that has ever happened to me.
oh well
Prophecy.
Comments after the People article are gross.
There’s a lot here and in the comments – including the movie RR made about his son Nick & addiction in 2016
“Being Charlie”
“… Rob Reiner’s son did 17 rehab stints while still in his teens….”
{ https://xcancel.com/StefanMolyneux/status/2000428917258088873 }
Not sure if anyone remembers this 2000 Comedy Central roast of Rob Reiner–and the things Al Franken said—https://x.com/i/status/1862556612054941850
I have a somewhat different take. I’m not going to virtue signal like some here about the moral high ground. I’m an unapologetic Christian soldier, and Rob Reiner was an outspoken enemy of Trump and MAGA. He openly longed for our destruction and imprisonment. Therefore, I fault no one for expressing anger and vitriol at Reiner. He earned it and no one owes him anything. I feel rage toward him too. While he took the high road regarding Charley Kirk, it was for reasons we cannot know, and could very well have been a PR stunt, since the initial public reaction of the left disgusted all normal people. Also, Charley was never on any sort of crusade against Reiner. Reiner has been on an irrational crusade against Trump, and may have contributed to assassination attempts of whom Trump was the target. Trump has nearly died and he and his family have paid an immense price for TDS. So while I don’t wish what happened to Reiner on anyone, he did reap what he’d sown, both in his political and parenting life. RIP tortured devil and may your evil spawn repent. I do believe that unless Reiner had a last moment repentance, he is likely in hell, unless there is some part of his life we don’t know about. It may sound cold, but I am a Christian and a realist. God will not be mocked by those who think they know more than Him. It’s is not my job to pass that judgment though.
Well said .
I liked “The Princess Bride” and I wish Rob Reiner was a nicer person to honest Americans. That is it nothing else I can say good about him. President Trump’s Truth was too honest but I don’t care.
Murder by knife is horrifyingly … brutal!!!
# hate crime
Up close and personal.
Am I the only one who sees this kid as a high likelihood homopervert? He was raised by pro LGBTQWTF parents, at risk for molestation (as is the norm for Hollywierd kids), self-medicated to escape the hellscape, and offed his oppressors.
Maybe being a “Normie” makes me suspicious of “our betters”. Not Sorry- not one bit.
I had decided on not commenting on this, but after today, reading comments I feel I should at least say something, and I’m sure many may not agree. When I read about Rob’s death I was shocked. Never liked the man, and hated his politics. But, nobody deserves what happened to him and his wife by their son.
I was disappointed by President Trump’s post. I understand how he’s been vilified by this man, but have a hard time justifying his post. He ‘s the President and I would have hoped he would have some grace, despite what Reiner said about him. I’m also ticked off by how the media is saying how horrible his comments are. So I guess I’m between a rock and a hard place.
With all that has happened over the last three days, my prayer is that somehow we can come together as a unified country, but I don’t feel it. God please have compassion on us. We don’t deserve it, but I pray you will grant it to us.
The President speaks from his gut like no other politico, I love him for that and his revelations of the nature of his opponents and his MAGA/KAGA policies.
Now, finally, reiner is a good leftist.
