We are only a decade behind them. I’m more concerned about the USA than Europe. We have Trump for 3 more years. We have a lot of clean up to do before helping the EU. There mass migrant invasion began in 2015. Ours 2021, with the exception of one stunted Trump term up until now. Blue states aren’t going along, so cornering them first should be our first priority!

“Book learning” isn’t in and of itself all it’s made out to be.
I’ve known some very highly “educated” people (PhD level) who couldn’t pour piss out of a boot with instructions on the bottom of the boot…
No common sense. No real world knowledge, which is quite different than book knowledge. No human interaction intelligence. No emotional intelligence. No creativity or imagination. No problem solving abilities. No mechanical aptitude or skills. Nor does it mean they are intelligent. But boy could they spout arcane nonsense – much of which didn’t actually fit or work in the real world.
For a majority of things, would take someone with what’s called common sense any day of the week and twice on Sunday over someone without it.
Note – this isn’t to say that “book learning” isn’t a good thing – it is in fact very important in many job fields – but in isolation it’s useless for anything more than a walking, talking Alexa – IF they ever actually really learned it and remember it, as many of them today retain information only long enough to pass the test, or are passed on the test because of some characteristic.

I started out on the “green screen” and an IBM selectric typewriter. They put the first green screen on my desk at the savings and loan where I worked. We had 35 branches in Atlanta, GA. I worked for them for 25 years and had to teach everybody else how to use a computer while I learned from scratch (trial & error). So the computer has been my education….learned much from it and my boss who was chairman of the board.

This is a great start, but states don’t need to comply with all Federal mandates within their own state. Interstate involves activities that cross state lines. Intrastate allows CDL holders to drive within the state under state rules. The problem I see arising from this is more competition for Home daily jobs. Not everyone wants to be on the road day in / day out. OTR trucking isn’t for everyone. Although I’m a traveling Teamster that works construction jobs, I’m still able to be home daily in a sense. I bring my RV to construction jobs. All i can say is, Sleeping in a truck sucks and competition for driving jobs that don’t cross state lines is going to increase. These jobs are highly desirable for people with families and people that don’t like the Over The Road life style.
Intrastate trucking jobs also allow states to adopt rules for medical wavers and you can bet Minnesota will adopt rules for illegals and immigrants with limited English / driving skills.

NY Times Sues Department Of War Over New Media Rules – Friday, Dec 05, 2025 – 10:00 PM
The New York Times on Friday sued the Department of War over new rules for media outlets which restrict reporters’ movements around the Pentagon, require ID badges, and restrict the solicitation of “criminal acts” (encouraging someone to leak).
“The policy, in violation of the First Amendment, seeks to restrict journalists’ ability to do what journalists have always done—ask questions of government employees and gather information to report stories that take the public beyond official pronouncements,” the NYT wrote in its lawsuit which was filed in the US District Court for the District of Columbia.
The new rules state that soliciting nonpublic information from department personnel or encouraging employees to break the law “falls outside the scope of protected newsgathering activities.”
Journalists will also be denied press passes if they pose a safety or security risk. ”
The First Amendment:
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”
I see no words that allow unfettered access to all government buildings or to state secrets in the first amendment.

Check out Aritcle I, Section 8, next to last clause where the Constitution gives the federal government EXCLUSIVE jurisdiction over certain geographical enclaves…DC being one of them. “Exclusive jurisdiction” means they can make whatever needful laws they want in these limited areas. So, they stand on solid ground on this one…so to speak. Where’s Wordman??

The National Security Strategy even suggests Washington is distancing itself militarily from NATO (but something which should come as no surprise given recent Trump statements related to the alliance’s lagging spending), saying “it is far from obvious whether certain European countries will have economies and militaries strong enough to remain reliable allies” to the United States.
It also references a “lack of self-confidence” by Europe which “is most evident in Europe’s relationship with Russia.” It cited as evidence that Europe should have a clear “significant hard power advantage” over Russia, but now because of Russia’s war in Ukraine, European leaders “regard Russia as an existential threat.” FT notes of this section:
Donald Trump’s first NSS since returning to office blames European officials for thwarting US efforts to end the war in Ukraine and accuses governments of ignoring a “large European majority” who want peace.
The document further highlights that this current reality of European weakness could have certain negative implications for potential for heightened Western escalation with Russia:
“Managing European relations with Russia will require significant U.S. diplomatic engagement, both to reestablish conditions of strategic stability across the Eurasian landmass, and to mitigate the risk of conflict between Russia and European states,” the document reads.
Most analysts see the language in the document as opening the door for unapologetic meddling in European affairs.
“Washington is no longer pretending it won’t meddle in Europe’s internal affairs” Pawel Zerka, a senior policy fellow at the European Council on Foreign Relations, observed.
“It now frames such interference as an act of benevolence (‘we want Europe to remain European’) and a matter of US strategic necessity. The priority? ‘Cultivating resistance to Europe’s current trajectory within European nations’,” he concludes.
