I agree with you 100% that there seems to be a disconnect with some people, including people here who don’t understand what the President in is doing. As an example people say he should work at home instead of fixing the world. I also agree based on pollster info that many young people seem to be in this camp. Some people are misunderstanding his thinking and actions.

I read that subpoenas have gone out for grand jurors in southern Florida and a grand jury will be empaneled on January 18. Those involved in the Russia hoax and lawfare won’t fare as well in districts outside of DC.

600,000 is way way too many of them to be allowed in our universities. The President should not be concerned with what private colleges fail over their admitting so many foreign students to shore up their outrageous salaries, tuitions and low level degree programs.
They need to fail if they cannot support themselves with American students. Maybe the colleges need to cut costs across the board Mr. President and I say that as one of your strongest supporters. Why can’t China use all of that talent to create/expand their own colleges? Considering that most knowledge is documented in textbooks and other media, what can they learn here that they can’t learn in China?
In regards to propping up our colleges, I believe the whole system is bloated, too expensive and is due for a reformation. Most classes and lectures could just be recorded and watched online every year, and testing can also be done remotely. That leaves labs, projects and consultations to be done in person, which require much less resources.
So… 300,000 more “dumbed down” Chinese students? The edu system in the USA is waaayyy down the list now.

Oh totally agree. I remember buying our first house and struggling, but we could pay all our bills, buy food and fill up our gas tanks, and still have $20. It was a wonderful feeling. No cable tv because we couldn’t afford it. Thankfully we were very active, and so were our kids. Great times!

But I think a lot of voters, especially the younger ones, don’t see things happening the way PT made it seem they would. I think he has some very brilliant advisors and some very treacherous ones.
I would love to see half of the colleges go out of business. Love our President but this doesn’t pass the smell test. First and foremost, China is not our friend. Not then, not now, not ever.
And it is not quite true. The 600k student visas is TWO YEARS of visas at current levels… thus only ~300k per year.

Still too many Chinese and how about other foreign students too? How many Indian students? This should be cut in half immediately and then whittled down to no more than few thousand a year, imo. American students should be considered first and then others on a limited basis. Our whole education system needs revamping from K through college.

I’m not sure why so many are thinking the price of food should be going down quickly.
First, Biden’s inflation along with supply issues inflated the cost of everything. So the inflation is down now around 2%-3%, but it’s inflation off the highs from the Biden administration. The supply issues are complex and takes time to right itself.
Energy is probably the easiest thing to correct and President Trumps energy policies are beginning to take effect driving gasoline prices down. This will also gradually help lower prices of transportation and other energy cost to suppliers.
So, to me with my limited knowledge of how all this works, it’s not a quick fix, but we are on the right track once we improve the supply issues.
The Establishment Media just wants to find fault with Trump anyway they can. They don’t want to talk about what got us to this place in the first place.

Mark you have to include greed into all of this…companies will not volunteer to lower prices if customers were/are willing to pay. It will be intense competition that will drive cost down….As a side note …but for a few , very few grocery items I have never seen food cost in general come down. There are some four or five corporations that control 85%+ of the market just for meat. Imagine if you include all foodstuffs, you might get a dozen or so more with similar results for every market segment covered.
And all of them are globalists looking to squeeze the US markets for as much as they can get away with. Simply put, there’s not enough competition in the marketplace. Of course, these big corporations are big targets for invoking the Sherman Antitrust Act on. Which is why regulatory capture is a thing, and many officers of the courts are bought.

You’re not wrong. Prices in my area stayed fairly stable for awhile but last year and this year have shown increases across the board and still rising. It’s disgusting actually for families with a few kids and what they are paying for less groceries that they could buy a year ago.

Empty wallets are not going to win votes.
I don’t buy that they cannot start to lower prices because of inflation. There are ways to ease back on prices that won’t cause deflation. Somebody on the Trump team had better address the issue of rising costs of middle class living or they will lose next year.
Just at least come out and talk to the people about what’s going on and what’s being done by this administration to start fixing these issues. What are the healthcare solutions? Not one plan or inkling of a plan by any republicans or the President. Time is running out quickly.
It’s not just that the prices should come down, it’s the greedy practices the large food companies have adopted that need to be addressed. Paying more for less product in packages is a scam imo. Not all food banks are the same.
Some provide food to anyone asking.
Some require that the recipient fall within a certain income-usually below the poverty level.
Often the income criteria is the same as the USDA/SNAP income limits.
If you volunteer at a food bank or pantry you will find that most of the clientele are food stamp recipients.
Food stamp recipients do not always receive full benefits; some may only receive $10-$50 a month-it depends upon their income.
If you are not comfortable donating to a food pantry you might consider discreetly donating food to a needy family in your area.
Besides volunteering at a pantry, that’s what I do.
And when the opportunity presents itself occasionally there’s someone elderly or otherwise struggling, standing at the grocery counter having to figure out what to put back.
Helping someone like that pay for their groceries is always a nice thing to do.
FWIW, I never donate money by rounding up.

We all know the current iteration of the Ds is such that they WILL get rid of the filibuster at their first opportunity, they tried already and only the now gone Manchin and Sinema stopped them.
We must get some things in writing while we have the chance. I vote for dismissing the filibuster:

That’s not enough. If they will get rid of the filibuster, you know they will add 4 justices to the SCOTUS and make states of DC and Puerto Rico. That being the case, don’t you think we should add the justices now ourselves and make it law that the SCOTUS can have no more than 13 justices, as well as make it law that DC cannot be a state?
And if you say that the Dems in power can overrule the 13 justices law and make their own law for more additions, so too can they overrule any of the laws you want codified by making new laws.
There is no magical solution other than voting in Republicans again and again.

With that in mind, I want to give a different perspective for those upset about Trump continuing foreign students at the current level since 2021 (which is still consistently lower than what it was in his first term.
Trump did not run on an agenda to stop student visas (which offer no path to staying in the US). It was not part of his immigration deportation and border security agenda.
Even if you wanted to end foreign students…now is not the time to do that. Trump is trying to build up our economy and transform the entire system. How does closing down half the colleges help the economy?
Other things to consider are that Rubio paused the foreign student visas, then reinstated them with tighter review to screen them (and their social media) to weed out anti American activists. Foreign students are a separate enrollment. They do not take student enrollments away from Americans.

I was typing out a reply to comment earlier when I had a knock at the door, I shortened my comment hit reply and closed the site.
An hour and a half later I returned to the site with every intention of expanding and clarifying my comment. My comment was not there. Never had that happen before.
President Trump claims that the economy is doing great, but we all live in different parts of the country, and one states economy will not be the same as another state. The people I know who voted for President Trump are not democrats who just believe something because they are told to believe it. Some of us are seeing lower gas and grocery prices, others are not. My friends and family are really disappointed with the way the Republicans in congress have treated President Trump. I knew what to expect in that regard. They thought it would be different the second time around. But to them and me congresses inaction on his agenda does not negate that US and by extension President Trump is still funding a war for the defense of corrupt Ukraine through weapon sales to NATO. Money in exchange for weapons and ammunition to placate NATO, European Union and US weapon manufacturers. As my sister has said to me many times, I get wanting to make money but who exactly is he making money for other than the US government and weapon and ammunition investors. It does not negate that he is placating conglomerate corporations demand for foreign labor when he promised to limit the importing of foreign workers. It does not negate that he is allowing China’s wealthy Chinese citizens children to help fund a bunch of overpriced universities because the IVY league schools could go bankrupt when he claimed by limiting foreign students it would drive down the cost of attending such a university.
Having a terrorist sympathizer in the white house for a meeting did not go over to well with anyone in my circle.
Anyway, I think calling people expressing concern about President Trump’s lack of follow through on some of his campaign promises trolls is unfair. The people who voted for him have every right to call out what they see as inaction or backtracking. I voted for him three times and I want him to succeed but I know the majority of republican congress does not and will hinder and backstab him every chance they get. It’s 2016 all over again only this time instead of the republican congress and media outlets doing the damage it the republican congress and court system doing the damage.

It seems things in Chicago aren’t so peachy these days, particularly for ICE. From what I’ve read, it’s nearly open rebellion time in gang-controlled far-left Chicago. This cannot be allowed to stand any more than we can allow activist Judges to dictate policy, even if their dictates violate the Constitution. I love President Trump, but in this, he is falling down. We cannot allow such illegal activity to go unchallenged. If our brave ICE officers face attacks, we should send in the National Guard carrying live ammo. We cannot allow the criminals to control any city or state, or Congress, for that matter. The fate of our Republic hangs in the balance. Our wonderful President Trump must do a better job and unleash the dogs of kell against these criminals.
