President Trump gave an extensive interview to Laura Ingraham, one of the primary advocates for the Ron DeSantis alligator emoji tribe. Ingraham did her best passive aggressive routine, positioning herself to antagonize yet appeal to the base of the DeSantis voter. The resulting interview is transparent in the agenda it represents.
There is currently a rather extensive political operation afoot that has been rolling out for the better part of this year. The objective of the coalition is to fracture the MAGA base in a similar fashion to how the Tea Party movement was compromised in 2012.
In March 2016, the same group now undermining President Trump and the America First movement, assembled in Sea Island, Georgia to plot how to stop or manage Donald Trump. While they have moderated their strategies, the collective goal of that group has never changed. This is the core influence group currently attempting to divide the MAGA movement, with the end objective to position Ron DeSantis. The group includes billionaires, tech industrialists, media brands, the former political Cruz Crew and the current group of alligator emojis (DeSantis operatives).

It isn’t bad in itself but maybe it’s the amount of donation that becomes the issue? Is the support or possible ramifications of non support the issue? How could any politician represent their district without compromise?
So, to make my point being compromised isn’t always a bad thing and naming 3 who aren’t, might just identify 3 that are actually incompetent and don’t know how to “arrive at a settlement by making concessions”.
I would suggest different words, like corrupted, if our representatives are crossing a line that in itself is a matter of perspective. Any agenda can be influenced by lot’s of money for a righteous cause or a constituents simple story about injustice. Taking action on influence isn’t always corruption but it is compromising. There are numerous positions on every issue and politicians can’t make everybody happy.

I think you are correct in that Communism is a theory or ideology that history is all about materialism which inevitably results in economic classes in constant war with each other. Communism postulates it is possible to create an economic classless society.
The problem is how to realize this “perfect” state of man? Political economy in the form of government-operated socialism is one part of it (in common with other socialist ideas). But Communism implementation realizes the need to create “class-consciousness” that crosses all borders/ethnicities. To achieve that it is necessary for a dominant influence (namely the Party acting through Soviets) to educate the masses and prevent “backsliding”.

When restaurants opened you had to sign a ledger with your name and address before they let you in. They didn’t chase off, they arrested Trump’s Surgeon General for standing on the beach.

Agree that the President has an ego. Most very successful people do, at least that has been my experience. Humility is a virtue in low supply across the board! It (an ego) may even be a requirement in some jobs – e.g., fighter pilots; President’s under unrelenting assault.
How do you know it has blindsided him? We see the outcomes but you/we don’t know the internal discussions, most especially the trade-offs involved. Doesn’t mean the President doesn’t have his blind spots – I have a friend (a six degrees to Kevin Bacon sorta thing) who briefed several past Presidents (including PDJT) more than once. Passed that the President has a fast mind that asks great questions and listens to responses. The lone criticism was that every once in a while the President might inject a little too much optimism/enthusiasm into some of the options on the table – but eventually relaxed the pressure once apprised of all the limitations.
I’ve been reading the Chicken Little narratives of impending doom for nearly a decade now; and it hasn’t happened. There is a civil war in our country that sways to and fro. The key is have a strategy, decision-makers and a battle plan that projects well into the future.
Just guessing here – but sometimes persons engaged enough to track the daily skirmishes respond too reactively to temporary set-backs (e.g., unfavorable results in a few off-cycle blue and/or fed worker laden elections, a partially covert Islamist winning an election in a major city). The sky is falling psychology ticks up on the stress meter. This is a long-haul battle with its own dynamic.
Many good things have unfolded since that escalator ride (not at the UN!). I don’t know whether the Patriots are currently holding ground at Tarawa or Iwo Jima, but I do know the threat is nervous, losing credibility, suffering internal dissension – and completely lacks a positive strategy.

Right now is probably not the time to clean up the universities even though it might be the only time however the marketplace is rejecting these graduates due to their poor skills so that’s some correction. When the Chinese graduates go home they may well be rejected also if the classes have been so dumbed down. I just think there’s been too much job loss and more coming due to AI and massive unemployment is a problem. Right now President Trump is losing the public and yes we’re seeing some improvement but again his facts are often incorrect and someone amongst his good advisors is sabotaging him. West Virginia currently up to $3.19 & no state increases I am aware of. Overall cost of living seems to have remained stable but high in general here. As I travel south to northern Florida to our 2nd home it goes down to $2.69-2.89. Traveling south in next week and will gauge the most current gas prices soon. Building supplies have not gone down from their exuberant highs of covid either. When I drove through several Western states this past Summer, it was obvious that very large differences at the pump were largely driven by state politics (e.g., climate change).
Yesterday I paid 3.26 for premium at a Costco in NW Va.. Reg was 2.46. It’s been coming down for weeks.
I just payed 3.19/gal last week which is significantly better than the price we paid one year ago where I live.

Gas has started to go down here in Middle TN. For some reason Williamson County in TN the gas is always between 50 cents to a dollar higher than than just south of Williamson County. But at my small rural country store gas is now $2.69. My co-worker who lives south of me gets gas for $2.29.
I haven’t seen much change in food prices but gas cost always comes first then other prices go down.

While my initial reaction to the 50-year mortgage was “WTF,” it would open up mortgages to younger people, as the payment would be lower. People can then refinance that mortgage down to a 30 or even 15, especially as interest rates drop.
Sacrifices still have to be made, as they always have been, as to how bad you want to own a home..do you need all those streaming services, $5 cup of coffee, the dream $20,000 vacation, etc etc? A lot of younger people think they were born with a silver spoon in their mouth, when they weren’t. Back to basics.
With a 50 year, you’re essentially renting your home and hoping for appreciation to sell for. That hope may or may not be rational. Plus folks are fooled by “truth in lending” which amortizes the up-front costs over the life of the loan. If you refinance or sell early your effective interest rate is much higher.
While that may be true, there were a lot of homes built in the 80’s, 90’s, 2000’s, etc that won’t last 50 years without a whole lot of maintenance and upkeep.
Also keep in mind that the average length of home ownership is currently 11-13 years. In 2005 it was only 6.5 years. Which is one reason why a large portion of the interest is front loaded into the 1st 5-10 years of a 30 year mortgage.
Not many folks live in the same house for 30 years(or full length of a 30 year mortgage), much less 50 years.

I have to admit that a 40- or 50-year mortgage is just ridiculous. Talk about permeant debt. Look at the total interest paid as a percentage of principal.
A $320,000:
30-year mortgage at 6.5% total interest ≈ $408,000 (128% of principal)
50-year at 7.0% total interest ≈ $874,000 (273% of principal)
A 50-year mortgage shifts homeownership closer to a permanent debt model. The payments are structured more like rent in disguise: predictable monthly outflow, minimal principal reduction, and no realistic endpoint for most borrowers within their working lives.
The problem is the FED providing money for large institutional purchases distorting the market. How about just cap or restricting bulk investor ownership of single-family homes? Or at least limiting tax advantages and securitization of those properties? That would directly target the cause of the inflated home values.
I would love to see the banning of hedge funds and REITs from owning detached single-family homes for recurring revenue.

Full disclosure we are mortgage free property owners, and grew up in a generation where owning your own home was “ the thing to do”
Times change, up here in Greater Vancouver British Columbia, many owners watched prices soar.
Now they are dropping fast, and are difficult to sell at anywhere close to assessed values.
All levels of government are taxing, or placing punitive restrictions on owners.
Never mind real estate commissions, insurance and skyrocketing maintenance costs.
We are glad we took the road we did. However the thought of buying any real estate again, in the foreseeable future is only for the very wealthy or extremely high income.

The elephant in the room, causing the housing market to be distorted, is the Fed and the Government encouraging Wall Street to become owners of single-family residential (SFR) properties.
They overwhelm the small, fractured markets with capital and drive up the costs of the homes for the local population, which must then resort to renting the SFR from these firms.
We need to remove the benefits and allowances for large investor funds to enter the SFR market. They should only be allowed to own multi-family properties that do not artificially swell the values of these homes due to excessive capital sitting in NYC. If anything, the competition in the MFR market will drive rents down in these communities.

Now the Heritage Foundation has lately been trying to position itself as a thought leader, a moderator of the national conversation, to prove how THEY were endeavoring to provide balance regarding the Nick Fuentes appearance on Tucker Carlson’s show but it really seems to me like a sick, sweaty and weak effort in the continuing campaign to demolish Tucker Carlson and thus to somehow put a ding in MAGA. In a recent (Saturday) article in the “Wall Street Journal” about the goings-on at the Heritage Foundation, it was presented as how fair they were trying to be but I did not see where they mentioned their sponsorship of Mark Levin and HIS bizarre extrapolations regarding Tucker Carlson, plus Mr. Levin ranting about anyone else he deems to be a bad dude.
My Mom and I had a period of time when we thought Mark Levin seemed like a calm, reasonable and logical person but now he seems like a guy who made a bad bet at the track and needs to cover that and his delivery is nearly hysterical due to nerves on edge and he had better deliver the goods, like someone is poking him with a cattle prod. Calling someone a neocon is a perjorative against Jewish people? How so? John Bolton, Nikki Haley, Mike Pompeo? Will the Heritage Foundation kindly explain why they think Mark Levin is a good investment in civil rhetoric?

Where is My President and what have they done with him?
When I began my 20 years in Federal Service (Bureau of Prisons), one of the intake forms I was required to sign stated I understood that my job was considered essential in case of a government shutdown, and I would be required to show up for my shift when scheduled and work without pay until the shutdown concluded. I also understood I could not work a job outside my position in the prison system (even if the government was not shut down) without permission of my supervisor. Pretty basic stuff.
