Think of a dynamic plain with 2 axis – X and Y
Now, we all have within us two “fundamental” souls or “consciousnesses” The divine and the animal. The divine, “who” craves closer attachment to its source “strives” in the Y axis (the Jacobs ladder if you will) to unite with God, the complete and unified Divine Spirit. While the “animal” soul is bound to earthly desires and wants, and like (it is) the serpent, weaves left to right on the (flat) “X” axis. These are the temptations, the confusions, the lies, wants and desires of this world. (going off the path)
So, the “animal” when facing/sensing defeat by the “divine” will slide, weave, flatter, promise, deceive and lie in any possible way in this constant war, with 1 sole purpose – to have us give up and “ignore” the divine, surrendering to the animal all the desires of the flesh.
It is only through constant connection/communication with God – prayer, holy work, study, following/hearing God’s word (faith) that a person will receive (spiritual) “ammunition” in order to remain centered on that narrow “Y” axis. (The vertical Path).
Our perceived “ups and downs” are the result of that “war” which unfortunately we are required to fight, due to our “falling” in/of/by the original sin. Take courage though, if you still find “holy desire”, it means you still hold the sword, you are still fighting, you are still climbing and you are still winning.

Obviously the solar cycle has a significant impact on our weather. But the computer climate models treat solar radiation and cosmic rays across the spectrum as a constant which they most certainly are not.
And in case you didn’t know it, cosmic rays play a key role in cloud formation.
at first glance there looks to be a 12-yr cycle or thereabouts
and now I remember there’s an 11-yr cycle in solar strength, yes?
It varies some, but 11 years is the figure they give. A new cycle begins when the solar poles switch.
You also have to recognize that every solar cycle is different in amplitude and the rate at which it reaches maximum and minimums.

Ghosts at Gettysburg?
Sherry and I have visited the battlefield on four different occasions together. Each time was a multi-day visit. I have been there alone once.
Been all over the battlefield carrying a day pack full of references and reading about the details of the action that took place at that particular point while looking over the ground where it happened.

Been to every unit marker/monument on the NPS map showing their locations.
And driven the routes along which every Corp from both sides approached the battlefield.
Sat on the wall the near the copse of trees at night watching the deer graze. The copse of trees was the marker for the point where Lee told Longstreet to have Pickett concentrate his effort to break the through the Union line.
I’ve never had any kind of ghostly experience. But I will say there is a strong aura there. Sherry and I have both felt it each time we visited.
Felt funny at “field of lost shoes” site which is battle of New Market. Daughter spoke of bad vibes at Sharpsburg in Maryland.
Antietam (Sharpsburg) still the bloodiest single day in US history with 23,000 dead wounded or missing in one day.

I remember a “ronco” hot dog shocker mom got. From what I could tell was directly wired to the outlet, slide the tray in and a minute later is was hot.
Downside was it tasted funny on the ends that were plugged in to the rack on both sides of it.
I didn’t really use it much due to the taste and I do not believe we had a microwave at that time.
Boiled is fine for me, have tried it in the air fryer but gets a little too dry & does not add any “grill” flavor which I would prefer as well.
Been looking at the small portable gas grills on AZon to see how cheap they could become during winter as I trashed my big grill of 10 years in the move-out in June since it was falling apart on it’s own.

Hi Rah, they’re calling it a “Wiener Warmer.” Hopefully, it “cooks” to a safe temperature. My first thought was, “who eats only one?” Wieners are short and thin and straight. What about us brat lovers? Brats are fat and usually curved. Manly men eat more than one, don’t we? I skip the buns, but load on the hot stuff! To me, wieners are for kids. I’d be embarrassed to be seen using this machine to make my lunch. Lots of jokes come to mind also that I can’t repeat here, but thanks for the heads up!
I highly recommend shopping a local food service retail location for Nathans all beef 1/4 pound dogs.

Cool, I just assumed they did not package those for retail, I see them as “roller dogs” for the gas station quik marts.
They have “roller dog” versions in some brands cheaper even tho they are still all beef, they are rather greasy & had to boil for 30 minutes to get a good part of the grease out.
That’s when I decided to just pay the extra for Nathans, only way I can do better ones is to make myself but need more equipment to do so for the “emulsify” process, easy recipes online for doing it, even can skip the emulsify process if you can look past it not being a “pink” hot dog just ground beef brown. Tho I would get to control the ridiculous amount of sodium in them for a + side as well as flavorings.
I already have the casing stuffer attachment for my mixer attachment port for my grinder that I bought 15 years ago.
Oh and good on WD for stocking them, must be more demand year round in the south or FL. (my exp on where WD is anyway)
Only 1/4 pounders the local Kroger subsidiary stocks is from bar s, while they are ok they are not Nathans nor all beef.

We live quite a distance from Tucson, but, it has become a Mecca (no pun intended) for Muslims. Storefronts and restaurants that had their signage in Spanish 10 years ago, now have everything in Arabic.
Man I went into and through Tucson pretty often 6-7 years ago when I was trucking and it didn’t seem that way then to me.
Only one I knew of was the first one, a big one in Plainfield next to I-70 that got built in the 90’s as I recall.
Was a big news item & controversial when built, I’m sure there are many more around since I have been gone from IN for 15 years now.

It took Buckley a bit of time to trust us. By trust, I mean being able to pick up his food bowl without getting bit and being able to clean and medicate his ears without a massive struggle. We are cleaning and medicating his ears everyday and he comes right to us to get it done. I still have to lightly hold his snout while Sherry does the cleaning and medicating so he stays in a position she can reach to do it. But it’s really easy now compared to the way it used to be.
I can leave him in the FJ while I make a quick run into the store with no problem.
But when I leave he is right up in the bay window waiting for me to come back and be there to greet me at the door. If we both leave he cries and howls some but he does no damage. Steve tells me about that. Not complaining, just letting me know. I don’t know how long it will take for him to get over his separation anxiety.

Dutch physician and bacteriologist (Nobel Prize in Medicine 1929), dies at 72
Biography: Christiaan Eijkman made significant contributions to the discovery of vitamins. He received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1929 for his work on beriberi, a disorder now recognized as thiamine deficiency.
Eijkman began his career as a military doctor in the Dutch East Indies. After contracting malaria, however, he returned to Europe where he gained experience in the advanced research laboratories there. This experience proved valuable when he later returned to the Dutch East Indies to study tropical diseases.
While investigating beriberi, Eijkman made an accidental discovery. He noticed that chickens fed polished rice developed symptoms similar to beriberi, while those fed unpolished rice remained healthy. This observation led to the identification of what would later be known as vitamin B1 or thiamine.
Initially Eijkman believed beriberi was caused by a bacterium rather than a nutritional deficiency. This work nevertheless laid the foundation for further research into vitamins. He shared the Nobel Prize with Sir Frederick Hopkins for their contributions to this field.
Eijkman later became a professor at Utrecht University. There he developed a test for detecting water pollution and conducted research on bacterial growth. He also involved himself in public health initiatives, including efforts to combat alcoholism and tuberculosis.
The Indonesian government recognized Eijkman’s contributions by naming a research center after him. The Eijkman Institute for Molecular Biology continues his legacy in scientific research today.

On November 4th 2023 my best friend and brother from another mother died in his sleep of a heart attack. Upon finding him in the morning and calling emergency services the police arrived and decided to do a death investigation. The detectives and others that arrived examined the body and surveyed his possessions and determined that the house would become a crime scene and I was put in the street with my three dogs. I had been staying with Bill since my divorce from my wife trying to figure out what my next steps in life would be. This began my next stage in life, I was forced to give up my dogs and was reduced to sleeping in a tent in someone’s back yard.
I found a part time job in a restaurant and after several weeks of horrible dreams about my dogs I decided to try and get my oldest and most loved dog back from the shelter that she was taken to, the other two where given to strangers on the street. I was able to locate Trouble (my dog) and was able to convince the administrator that my intentions where pure and real. About a week later my boss told me he would be leaving town for a week to visit family. With the free time I now had I decided to go to the shelter where Trouble was taken and offer to volunteer because I was impressed with how well Trouble was taken care off, she had been bathed, dipped and vaccinated.
To make a long story short it was because of these events I now live and work at the shelter where she was taken and my life has taken on a new path. My Trouble is old and I have recently started to give her Prednisone on a daily basis to help her with mobility and other issues she is experiencing. When my Trouble passes I will be returning to the US to start my life over.
I remember when you posted about this.
I hope you can rebuild your life, and do it WELL.
Come back HOME.

I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

I had an epiphany the other day. I had said that he was now singing with the angels But what flashed into my mind was him ‘doing his thing’ in the Heavenly Emergency Department.

Didn’t want to “Zoom” in too much, so took a break to “break it up some” 🙂 So part 2 of the X Y saga.
Now, just as we rise and “fall” on the “Y” axis – our Jacobs ladder, so to does the “animal” serpent on the “X” axis, in unison. If we are “flat” on the bottom – IE no thought of Holy Desire whatsoever, he, the serpent/animal can and will leave us alone – no point in wasting energy on what you already have. No, there are much bigger “fish” to fry – Us – and he does it by riding on our backs per Se. As our understanding/faith/wisdom rises, so to will he use those exact same “intellects” against us. Only now he’s super smooth, super charming, super confusing, super deceptive – animal wants what animal wants. (his mission never changes 24/7)
The “war” actually becomes tougher, the stakes get higher. Which is why it is imperative people do not fall into the trap of complacency. “O, I’m good, I go to ………. every week” This is almost certainly a sign of spiritual stagnation, because when the “animal” no longer attacks (in force), its usually a sign he’s pretty happy with the status Quo.
Our “divine” mission is to always climb higher, to reach higher, until God willing we are finally free of the animal forever.
PS I inverted “fall” in the first paragraph, because most often if we remain faithful, maintaining our holy desire, the fall we experience is not real. It is how the serpent uses our “test” that qualifies us to a higher rung – to make us believe we have failed, are not good enough/worthy enough etc etc. he wants to induce sadness, depression, sense if failure, anger, doubt. Regrettably (and I’m one of them) we often listen.
