Dr Mehmet Oz is the Trump administration Administrator for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the massive federal health care bureaucracy that covers more than a third of Americans.
At least 14 states (pictured below) provide Medicaid to illegal aliens. Today Dr Oz provided some alarming information about corruption within the CMS system leading to millions of illegal aliens gaining benefits.
[Dr Oz, CMS Administrator] – “Based on our initial set of audits, more than $1B of federal taxpayer dollars were being spent on funding Medicaid for illegal immigrants. And my team is getting it back.
Some want to deny that illegal immigrants are receiving Medicaid. Others insist it’s illegal for Medicaid to cover illegal immigrants. And others accurately point out that hospitals can provide emergency services to illegal immigrants under the program.
We can all agree on this: rooting out fraud, waste, and abuse is essential to protecting this program for the most vulnerable. It’s also one of the Trump Administration’s top priorities.
Let me lay down the facts”:
“The truth is that federal law is supposed to prohibit federal Medicaid dollars broadly from being used to cover illegal immigrants. It does permit states to use Medicaid dollars for emergency treatment, regardless of patients’ citizenship or immigration status. States can also legally build Medicaid programs for illegal immigrants using their own state tax dollars, so long as no federal tax dollars are used.
But that didn’t stop Democrats from going even further by breaking federal law to give illegal immigrants federal Medicaid dollars meant for American citizens.
Earlier this year, the CMS team began auditing state Medicaid programs to ensure they were following the law and not spending any federal tax dollars on illegal immigrants outside of emergency Medicaid. What we found was shocking.
In a preliminary review of 6 states, we found those states improperly using federal tax dollars for their allegedly state-funded program and providing coverage to individuals, including some with criminal records of murder and assault.
Those states are:
CA – $1,310,032,549
DC – $2,114,628
IL – $29,778,645
WA – $2,367,194
CO – $1,506,743
OR – $5,404,368
We notified the states, and many have begun refunding the money. But what if we had never asked?
Whether willful or not, the states’ conduct highlights a terrifying reality: American taxpayers have been footing the bill for illegal immigrants’ Medicaid coverage, despite many Democrats and the media insisting otherwise.
Democrats are demanding the repeal of the President’s Working Families Tax Cuts legislation in order for their votes to reopen the government. This law wisely strengthened our ability to limit federal dollars from being spent on health care for illegal immigrants. If what is done in Minnesota is the same in other states, the medical providers are legally obligated to get the translators and pay for them.
Absolutely paid for by taxpayers. It’s a huge grift.
Previously, you could snag a hospital worker who spoke Spanish to act as interpreter. Now that’s “unlawful”, and the translator “industry” stepped in to fill the void. $200-250 for a 5 minute patient pre-op (these folks have ZERO medical training, BTW). And the 24/7 AT&T phone translators, in a zillion languages. Costs borne by the hospital, then passed along to patients who actually pay for stuff.
The abuse is entrenched, and multifaceted. Cafeteria vouchers for the entire extended family while mamasita is busy dropping another anchor baby. An ambulance ride to the ER just to get pain meds, and then a cab voucher home.
Late or no-show appointments and surgeries (why not? There’s never a cancellation fee for a Medicaid patient.).
Hospital staff prodded to learn Spanish in order to provide free care, rather than any push to get these patients to learn a lick of English.
The icing on the cake, illegals suing for malpractice. An entire taxpayer funded industry, including NGOs, dedicated to their “needs”. If you’re an American taxpayer with a valid malpractice claim, you have to hunt for an attorney who thinks their payday will warrant the lawsuit. With the taxpayer backstopping the claim, that barrier is much lower for our precious illegals.
AND a whole lot of those babies have issues- take a lot at your local special ed. costs at your schools.
Every issue or “special need” demands additional government assistance to the parents AND the school.

My input as a non-lawyer: The 14th amendment has been abused to extend birthright citizenship to babies born in this country whose parents are not permanent legal residents.
The former slaves were legally present in this country. After emancipation, the status of slaves changed from property to free human beings. The 14th amendment granted citizenship to the former slaves and their descendants.

The idea of quarantining visitors and immigrants on an island (called a Lazaretto) to see if they exhibit symptoms goes way back to the days of the Black Plague in Europe.
When we (family of 7) came to US as political refugees, we were for 10 days in limbo prior to our US entry. We were all interviewed about what work will we do, and all of us were physically examined and blood tested for TB, AIDS, STDs, etc. None of us thought that was unreasonable. A country that is welcoming foreign born people has that right. We all had jobs within 6 months of arrival, including my parents who were in their late 50s.

Medicare as you note is another program mainly for elderly and certain disabled individuals. There is also rampant fraud when it comes to illegals and Medicare, but that’s a separate program.
As a retired nurse and Case Manager, I can say that both Medicaid and Medicare fraud are so rampant that it’s business as usual in any medical facility in this country. The fact that this is a surprise to our officials is what is surprising to me.
It is also a fact, that immigrants from around the world but especially through the Southern border are coming to use our hospitals as their welfare system. As an example, a surgeon was explaining during an interdisciplinary medical meeting, how he was shocked that a Mexican arrived at his office with specific instructions from his physician in Mexico on where to go in the US to obtain this medical treatment for free which Mexico does not offer to its citizens who cannot afford their care. I myself am aware of hundreds of examples. It’s rampant and should not be a surprise to anyone in power. I’m disgusted.

Look at another inequity due to emergency Medicaid. Hospitals present bills to Medicaid when yet another illegal alien woman in labor drops in through the ER to go to L&D to have a baby. The hospitals accepts whatever amount Medicaid provides. The bill is considered paid in full. The patient does not receive a bill, has no obligation to pay, and has no debt sent to a collection agency. Payment is not even a faint consideration. Must be nice.
What is the percentage of personal bankruptcies now that include medical debt? Is it 1/4, or 1/3? It is pretty bad.
When I retired I asked the Medicare representative if illegal aliens were getting Medicare too. Shockingly, she said Yes, shew knew aliens who are on Medicare. That was many years ago!

It wasn’t exactly so clear cut as you infer. Many in the PA MAGA community considered Oz a TV doctor carpetbagger in that 22 race. He was not a legitimate PA resident, had never been involved at any level in PA conservative politics, and was running against both Kathy Barnett (who was still a local and prominent pro-MAGA candidate in the Philly suburbs) and Dave McCormick (the establishment splitter candidate that PDJT later endorsed in 24).
Barnett was in fact polling ahead of Oz until the Trump endorsement. And a Trump endorsement is usually good for a 15 points bump. But it was the wrong endorsement in that race. Barnett would have beaten Fetterman with the endorsement.
Oz promptly disappeared from PA even before Fetterman was declared the winner on election night. And no one has really ever seen him return to PA, or taken any role or interest in PA state politics, since. In that regard, he lived up to the accusation.
Even as a New Yorker, I recognized the value and importance of PA Senator Rick Santorum and liked him as well. I donated several hundred to his, sadly, failed reelection bid.
What a loss to PA and the country. At that time at least.

When the UK allowed all the people from Commonwealth countries to emigrate, they got all the sick ones for free medical. It is doubtful that the NHS is ever going to recover because all the doctors and nurses went to other countries.
NH where I worked, we recruited really good nurses from Canada- They were well trained and then found themselves unemployed because Canada wasn’t putting them to work. Director of nursing imigrated from Canada long ago and knew the ropes. They couldn’t get a job there so were eager to be hired here. I can’t emphasize enough how well trained they were and what a blessing it was for us who couldn’t get nurses here to work in a little NH.

Look into the Child Protective Agencies- massive fraud (state & federal) as they funnel kids into the system that shouldn’t be there and then load them up with Medicaid services, doctor visits, vaccines, dentist visits, operations & especially all kinds of “therapy” starting with 2 yr olds.
Not only do all the kids get therapy-but also every family member (including grandparents) are all mandated by the system to go to very expensive “therapy” paid for by – you know who-Medicaid. It is ridiculous. Most people have no idea what these agencies do. The entire system is based on taking people’s children and getting them into the system.

DOGE audited the CMS in early February, so in the intervening months the department’s role in this subterfuge was being carefully mapped and a counter-strategy formulated. It seems likely that the general shape that this strategy will take is to flip the centre of gravity that illegal migration gave the DS from asset to liability, by forcing their Democratic partners into having to deal with the direct consequences of their ‘army’ being cut off from its ‘supplies’. The massive acceleration of the programme under Biden now compounds the problem they face, hence the dual strategy of threats to public order, if they are not restored, and recourse to the hacks in black and their injunctions.
Democrats are good at one thing – fraud, waste, and abuse (and money-laundering) of American Taxpayer’s Money. That’s it. That’s all they do.

It might be on the list; in this initial press release Dr. Oz specifically mentioned there were 13 States known to be using its Medicaid funds for illegals but he was only, at this time, going to name the top 6 States.

Well, Blondie at the DoJ could enforce 15 USC chapter 1 to clean up the entire medical system (2 Supreme Court decisions ruled that the law does apply to medical) & 8 USC section 1324 to clean up immigration, but crickets.
