You ever see any Woodie’s there Phoenix? Its beautiful. Any Prothonotary Warbler nestings or sightings? Or are you too far north for them?
Hi Colkitto, Yes, we have all the common Eastern Woodland woodpeckers here at this park and I’ve seen all of them, the only exception being the Sapsucker during migration, and sadly not seen by me. Never seen Prothonotary Warblers in this habitat, especially not with this year’s drought! Though again, one was seen years ago during migration. (There’s a really tame Prothonotary at Magee Marsh who didn’t even mind a toddler on the boardwalk!) Meanwhile, back at this park, is where I also saw a family of mink and two coyotes in broad daylight, so now I don’t hang out here as much and when I do, I stick closely to the main trail and hope for alot of people around. (which of course makes it harder to see the good birds) … Hope your birding adventures are going well, what are you seeing?
Migration has been alarmingly scarce. I do get and got this fall the very gorgeous Yellow-throated Warblers, who retain much of their plumage even in the fall, Summer Tanagers, and the only abundant Warbler in general and here Yellow-Rumps. I had my female Carolina Chickadee die on her eggs in my Chickadee box which more than likely means she was poisoned and my last Bluebird brood (#3) only 2 hatched and fledged as 2 were sterile. I believe someone locally has been heavy handed or wrongfully applied chemicals in my local area.
I have seen a reduced number of my local Chimney Swifts, and pollinators, especially honey bees and Butterflies. There is a massive amount of building also going on in my area which is destroying God’s creation, Nature.

Yellow-throated Warblers are wonderful … lucky you, Colkitto! We tend to get a few in one park in the summer in my area. Summer Tanagers? Even luckier, I’m too far north and have never seen one! As for Yellow-rumps, yes, they’re everywhere in the fall. Today there were tons (well, dozens) of Ruby-Crowned Kinglets in the bushes at a nearby marsh … a couple of weeks ago, there were absolutely tons of White-throated and crowned Sparrows. A modest / decent amount of Rusty Blackbirds. This summer, there were tons of Monarch butterflies … and grasshoppers … in the fields. Nice number of Sulphur butterflies as well.

Trump is Jupiter moving through the asteroid belt. He is going to pull people into his orbit.
A few will get slung off into space, but most will come along for the ride of their lives.

Here is the game plan that the forces against Trump will be using for the foreseeable future.
They will attempt to get you to make the perfect the enemy of the good.
Be it the freedom clowns and spending, the immigration hawks with H1B visas, the peace doves with timing, the cultural warriors with total bans of DEI/CRT, the neocons with war fighting, or the swamp dwellers with draining the swamp.
All of them will attempt to get you to believe on whatever issue is the issue of the day that it doesn’t go far enough or do enough. They will try to make you think that some sub issue of that issue is more important and should be handled first, that since the issue hasn’t been handled yet it won’t be, that we can’t do more than one thing, that so and so is a plant to stop the draining of the swamp, or that because it wasn’t 100% Trump lied. On every single issue, one or more groups will attempt this strategy.
You can’t allow them that power over you. If Trump secures the border and deports 2 million, don’t allow them to reduce that good by them saying well he didn’t deport 2.5 million, so he failed or lied.
You can’t allow them to use the perfect to void out the good in the coming months.
They will try. They already have with the CR and the H1b visa debates. It works, that is why they use it. You have to keep it in the front of your head on everything about to occur that half a loaf or hopefully in most cases 7/8ths a loaf is better than no loaf.
Do not allow them to gaslight you into thinking the good is the enemy of the perfect.
In the real world, most things are never perfect, but if we try real hard, we can get plenty of good accomplished in the coming 4 years.
The purpose and goals of President Trump are plainly visible by his actions and consistent: He is for the benefit first of the common PEOPLE of this country, then of the PEOPLE in the rest of the world. It is validating, even to our battered conservative skepticism.
The methods of his leadership are amazing. I still don’t get HOW he does it, or HOW he is able to get so much momentum going, but every day the momentum is growing. Everyone and every organization has their eyes opened every day — just by watching him. Even those who hate him, are biased against him, and want to see him gone — cannot ignore him. He lives rent free in their head, and they come around to seeing the universal principles by which he is operating. He hammers actions based on truth from one direction, then another, and they cannot mount an organized opposition against him.
President Trump is transparent in his words and actions. He is consistent in what he says, what he does, and what he asks/demands of others. His promises are bold and he keeps them like no other president has. He is making massive, nearly overnight changes, not only in our country, but in the world. It is amazing that he is able to accomplish so much when there are so many snakes in the grass. This term, he is weeding them out faster. No U.S. president has ever faced so much organized resistance and treason than President Trump
He has chosen to use his intellect and every skill he has to do what is right. He has tremendous faith that he can make a difference in this world. He has a confidence and courage such that he doesn’t care what others think, yet a humility to know he has to do it with the help of like minded people. Those people are the “common” people, and he ridicules those who think they are not common.
He believes people are basically good. He believes that God is real. He believes that healthy people are happy people, and they need to be able to create wealth freely for their labor, and have the freedom to spend their money on what is good for them.
He believes the United States, with its Constitutional Republic, is the best environment in the world to enable and give opportunity for people to be happy and prosperous.
He believes that we can be a light for the world, but we must demand that the rest of the world respect us and our right to life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of happiness.
He believes the enemy of our country are the stupid, greedy American people who have been selfishly taking advantage of this country; who betrayed the trust and obedience of its people; and who diverted the people’s wealth for their own selfish gain, at the expense of the principles of this country. He’s not going to allow that anymore.
He has cultivated and focused the family of MAGA. Identifying those people whose goodness, industriousness, trust, and obedience have been taken advantage of and abused. He has opened our eyes to this abuse, and the rights of freedom and self determination that have been quietly stolen from us.
He has rekindled the healthy distrust of government and men with too much power held by our founders. He has recultivated the desire to reclaim our freedoms and rights, and is empowering us with a hope and pathway to reclaim our spiritual and economic freedom.
He wants the US to be a light of hope on the hill for all people. He will negotiate win/win agreements with those nations and countries who respect us; who respect the principles and intent of our Constitution. If you do not respect us, however, we are not going to let you take advantage of our goodness, or share in our wealth at our expense. If you as a nation are treating your people badly, you are going to be treated less favorably by us, until you show that you value your people as much as we value ours.
He is convincing those who are very wealthy (most of whom truly earned their money), that the best economic soil in which to build wealth is in a constitutional republic, which supports the ability of the common man to earn wealth in proportion to his efforts. The economic engine of the United States is the human spirit freed to enjoy the fruits of honest labor, and that engine has more natural and raw horsepower than any other governed economy.
The Trump Train seems to be remarkably aligned with universal principles of Truth, which reflect the will and design of our Creator, and are the best standard by which we should live. These same principles were what our country’s founders used to declare independence, and framed into the Constitution of this nation.
Our founders believed that a nation should preserve the right and freedom of an individual to seek, understand, and live by God’s principles. They believed that free individuals working together in humility would make a stronger nation than a government which dictates its will on the people. President Trump professes and seeks to lead and restore this nation back to these same principles.
These principles resonate deeply within all human beings, down to our DNA in every cell, in our spirits, and produce fruit that “miraculously” multiplies. Because we follow universal principles, we see the snowballing acceleration of momentum on day 279 of the 2nd term of this very stable genius in the history of the kingdoms of this world in the year of our Lord 2025.

The founding fathers included electionn certification as a means to investigate election fraud claims. Certification was never meant to be a rubber stamp. If the republicans and the Trump administration could do one thing to ensure the midterms and 2028 go their-our-way, BRING DOWN FOOD PRICES. Not yelling here but this is a real issue everywhere and it’s not getting better. People see feel and live this one issue everyday. The prices are high, the quantities in packaging are smaller and families have a hard time budgeting for feeding their families, even more so if they want to buy good organic food and healthy packaged food. If MAHA is a true goal by this administration, then food is numero uno to improve on quality and make less expensive.
The drumbeat over prices of food and healthcare are definitely big concerns in my neck of the woods. People at work talk about both constantly.

It is obvious that the school district and law enforcement reacted without looking at the picture that the scanner had taken. Such “trust” of computer technology is seriously misplaced, and the child and his parents should have grounds for a serious civil lawsuit.
In other news, AI researchers successfully reprogrammed an AI-based baggage scanner (a) to decide that a brick was a gun, and (b) to decide that a real gun wasn’t. (This action, done by “white hat” researchers, certainly raised a lot of alarm within the AI software community. But it never made the news. All of these systems are far more vulnerable than we have ever been told. But, we should know better anyway.)

I think the debate changed things. Or possibly Guiliani’s endorsement. I just saw a poll showing sliwa surging and polling better against Mamdani than Cuomo in a head to head now.
Even with that, though, Mamdani still had an 8 point lead.
