Putin envoy arrives in US for talks with Trump officials – reports
According to media reports, Vladimir Putin’s special envoy Kirill Dmitriev is in the US.
Both Russian state media and CNN reported on the development.
The US outlet says he’s there for “official” talks just days after Donald Trump called off a meeting with Vladimir Putin.
It adds he’s supposed to meet Trump administration officials to continue discussions about the US-Russia relationship.
Axios reports he is due to meet his US counterpart, Steve Witkoff.
The timing of the reported meeting is pointed, coming during a week in which Russia has tried to act defiantly despite coming under a slew of new sanctions from the US and EU.
All Putin has to do is budge a little bit. Ukr isn’t going to willingly pull out of parts of the Donbas Russia hasn’t captured.
He should take the 78% he has, negotiate an acceptable peacekeeping mechanism, call for elections in 90 days, and solidify a commitment for no nato expansion. It’s something he could easily do then Trump could do his thing and pressure ukr and the EU into accepting reasonable terms

Remember that in the opening session November 3-5, the SC will hear expedited arguments that President Trump exceeded his Executive authority to impose many of the tariffs, per a previous ruling by the Court of International Trade against him, upheld by the Court of Appeals.

I think Schumer said the No Kings protest was a success and they plan to continue and grow it.
I think we will have a return to the 2020 protest and rioting all across our country in 2026 to influence the election. I think the Democrats and leftists and some Establishment UniParty RINOS think they must win congress to stop Trump.

Pray for the Conversion of the “No Kings” Protestors – Ground Report from Northeast Ohio
Hoped to avoid coming across any of the protests going on but of course I came across a group of protestors at an intersection and had to stop at the traffic light. They were, like most are reporting, basically older white people who had likely been hippies in their youth. At first, they seemed quiet. Not wanting to seem like I was supporting them (silence = agreement and so does “honk your horn if you support …” and so does looking at them in a friendly, sympathetic manner) but also not wanting to be combative, I did the best I could think of at the time: raised my folded hands up on the steering wheel in a posture of prayer, looked ahead rather than looking at the demonstrators (while keeping safely focused on the traffic signal, etc.), and prayed as I waited for the light to turn.
Well, apparently the crowd didn’t like that, because they started chanting some slogan. Couldn’t hear what it was because there was no way I was going to roll down the windows. Just kept praying and driving while there were demonstrators in sight. One guy old enough to know better seemed like he made sure to cross the street and make a point to walk right in front of me to inconvenience me and make me wait for him, but fortunately he had the good sense to keep moving rather than insist on standing in the middle of the street.
Definitely seems like a spiritual battle. And it seems that if the “No Kings” folks don’t like prayer, we should pray more. For America. For President Trump. For all American patriots. For peace. And for the No Kings people.
The no kings should apply to congress.
Congress has no term limits, salary as pension for life, health care not Obama care for life, a special fund to pay for their sexual indiscretions, insider trading privilege, exemption from covid shots, just to name a few.
In the mean time, they fail in their responsibilities. When was the last time they passed a budget. Instead they shirk their responsibility with the same federal funding increasing each year. Instead, they should be cutting spending.
It is time THEY do their job and rein in government and government spending.

I expect we will continue to see drip by drip more evidence of the corruption we experienced.
Just wondering if the Supreme Court, because of this growing issue, restate the laws that must be followed in Federal Elections. Basically the laws is- you must be a U.S. citizen, you must be 18 years old or older, and you must vote in the precinct where you are registered or live.
The specific federal law is more complex and specific than this, but if the Supreme Court restated the actual law and say states must adhere to this law as they develop procedures for federal elections.
That would be at least a shot across the bow that any litigation of states not following the the law would be be looked at favorably if proven.
I don’t know if there is any legal way to get the
Supreme Court to do this. It just seems the states have no fear doing whatever they want administrating elections and lower courts are not interested in taking up election challenges.

by a strict reading of the Constitution, you are right that all they can control (short of other threats to equal protections, etc) is the federal-level elections. IMO, even if they were to weigh in on that, the fight would quickly move to what constitutes a federal election.
for example, the redistricting going on everywhere is at a “state” level technically, but it then affects the federal level congress, courts, etc. they want this to remain inside the state, but the issue is that if it results in stacking the representation of that state with marxists, it puts my freedom and independence at direct threat, even when i do not reside in that state. given that we have lost the plot on federalism as a former republic, and how much money flows to districts from out of state, thats a big part of why our freedoms have eroded so deeply.

Maybe off topic but I swung past a grocery store for a couple of items on my way home. I always pay with cash and noticed they are now “rounding”. It was to my advantage. The bill total ended in 48 cents and they gave me back 55 cents in change. (Kroger)

Not new Canada has been doing it for years as the have already gotten rid of the penny. While I agree the government would love to see all digital money that is not what the end of the penny is all about. By January pennies will be done. A local supermarket already is rounding on your final bill, not per item. The penny is going away because it costs 3.69 cents to produce one penny, and it has cost more than one cent to produce a penny for 19 years now. A penny is 97.5% cheap zinc now with a thin copper coating of
2.5%. Ending the penny will be a huge cost savings for the US Mint. Ending the penny is estimated to save $56 million annually.

MEDC officials on Thursday notified lawmakers that the company with strong ties to the Chinese Communist Party is in breach of its economic development contract, which was negotiated in secret by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s administration and select lawmakers just three years ago.
“It’s about damn time,” Marjorie Steele, founder of the Economic Development Responsibility Alliance that opposed Gotion’s planned $2.4 billion EV battery plant, told Bridge Michigan. “What the MEDC tried to pull here in Big Rapids was just so egregious.”
Whitmer claimed in 2022 that the agreement, which included $715 million in taxpayer-funded incentives and tax breaks, would fuel “the biggest ever economic development project in Northern Michigan” and create “2,350 good-paying jobs in Big Rapids.”
“I don’t foresee a world in which this project goes forward,” MEDC COO Christin Armstrong told Crain’s Detroit Business on Thursday. “Even if it was to go forward, just given the passage of time and the circumstances on the ground, it’s not the same as what it was [when] approved in 2022. The world has shifted so significantly since then. I think it’s safe to say that the project is not going to happen as we had originally foresaw or planned or hoped.”
The MEDC’s Michigan Strategic Fund last month notified Gotion it was in violation of its grant agreement due to a “cessation of eligible activities” for at least 120 days, which is considered “abandonment” according to the terms, The Detroit News reports.
The notice also alleged Gotion’s involvement in two lawsuits violates a provision of the contract that prohibits litigation what “would reasonably be expected to have a material adverse effect on the project or the grantees performance of its obligations under the agreement.”
Gotion, of course, disputed those findings.”
