NYS lost a lot of Repub voters in the year before that election. Many moved down to FL., etc. to escape Gov. Cuomo’s insane Covid restrictions.

My preference: The voting age should begin at 23 or 24 unlesss you have served or are serving in war zone in the US Military. If you are 18 and that applies, you can vote.
Giving the vote to those with nothing at stake, like property-holders as designed by our founding fathers, was the biggest mistake. These voters may not have had anything personally at risk, but they still had something to gain by voting themselves benefits.

Huh. Okay, and just how would Catholics do that?
1) Reject the Novus Ordo.
2) Seek out the remnants of His One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church where traditional Roman Catholicism is practiced…complete with the Tridentine Latin Mass along with almost 2000 years of Catholic tradition.
3) Trust in God.
Amazingly, there are two Catholic churches within easy distance of me where the Mass is indeed celebrated in Latin. I was actually shocked to find them!

If one is able to find such a Church.
It’s easy. Avoid the main Protestant churches. They are woke from the top down.
To find one that is real, look at their website. It should unapologetically focus on Jesus, the Bible as the word of God and following Christ. If you see the words social justice, equity, or diversity move on to the next one.
If they talk briefly of Jesus but FOCUS on food banks, helping others, bringing people together to kumbaya, be leery.
Then here is the litmus test that works every time: ask them about how their church views homosexuality.
They should clearly say that homosexuals are welcome (along with trans, adulterers, drug addicts, prostitutes, vulture capitalists, and… well virtually everyone there as they are all unworthy sinners) and then clarify, using specific Bible verses showing what the Bible has to say about the issue.
That’s a good start.

I attend one such church after the compromise with false teachers being elevated in our former mega-church of 23 years. Small, with a faithful, compassionate Pastor who exegetes Scripture book by book, chapter by chapter, verse by verse. And ties it all together with the redemptive narrative of God’s reconciliation with mankind from Genesis to Revelation. A true blessing to the fellowship.

One of our dearest friends was a colleague of my husband’s who felt called to become a deacon. He was ordained after years of study. And he has been a source of prayer and sustained support for us two times when we needed it …once for my husband and again recently for our son in law during health battles. We speak often just to catch up with him and our families. He and my husband are connected as brothers, something which has been a designed gift from our Father we are convinced.
For him and other devout Catholics “disheartened” doesn’t even begin to describe how I am feeling for them.

In essence, you will find every kind of human being , from saint through scholar to scoundrel and sybarite, has held the office.
Recall that the 12 Apostles included the traitor and the doubter and that St. Peter himself was a temporary apostate!
None of this means that one can or should sanguinely accept the situation: we must oppose Our Cowardly Lion and his kowtowing to the Demonic Temporal Powers around us.
Particularly outrageous today was a minion of the Bishop of Knoxville calling those who want to retain and attend a Tridentine Latin Mass a bunch of “Protestants” for daring to oppose the elimination of such Masses in his diocese.
