On reflection, I finally realized something that shouldn’t have been at all difficult . . . what allowed us to stay in such a long-term relationship was two fundamental values: trust and loyalty. Over all those years, through so many stressful experiences, we never lost trust in each other. Similarly, we were always loyal to each other.

G, I figured it out… this music resonates so much with me… because it is coupled with steady sounds of nature mingled throughout. From the birds chirping, the leaves falling, and sometimes anecdotes of rain drops… jazz sounds so much better with nature. Supposed to get some good rains here this weekend. I’m looking forward to it.
My utopia – open patio door and open windows – front porch with a gentle swing or rocker – the sounds and smells of nature’s earthen tones, with jazz wafting through the house and lawns – and an excellent book and cup of tea or coffee. Today’s flavor is custom roasted Highlander Grogg from a little homemade ice cream place I know that roasts and flavors their own beans. PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.

Probably one of the most philosophical and intriguing questions ever asked – keeping many a philosopher and individual awake, also possibly that 1000 yard gaze our “colleagues” at work sometimes get. (Usually these are found in State Institutions). In their case it means “hey I just work here”.
It’s also the first reply by Moses when he’s instructed by God as to his mission – like many if not all of the prophets, as well as every (true) righteous person called on by God to do something “bigger”. In these instances of course, it’s coming from a place of humbleness. (don’t be silly, what do I know??)
We could of course argue that we are (I am) a product of our/my life history up until now – which is a bummer, because much of it, we have little or no control over. (S…happens).
So, my simple thoughts on the matter. Yes, all the above are “true”, but they are also Past Tense, (the past) which we have neither access to (except via memories – which are themselves a whole discussion for another time.), nor control over. However we DO have access to the NOW, now. Our now determines who we are – in the present, and whomever we choose to be – either “Godly” (connected) or “Ungodly” (disconnected) will also determine (potentially) who we will be (in the future). Godly here meaning any quality “displayed” by God, such as kind, generous, merciful, helpful, trust worthy, loving etc etc. Being “un-” in any of these of course is the poison of the snake.
So the question then is not so much – “Who am I” (as in past tense), but more “Who am I” (as in NOW and Will be. (hopefully). If one is connected to God in the now, it’s largely irrelevant who you were in the past.

Yesterday I posted how surprised I was to witness my grandson’s entire school reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. Last evening I attended the school board district meeting where my other grandson was presented with an award. Guess what. The board opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and the entire room participated. This time I was more shocked than surprised. Maybe there’s a glimmer of hope yet. I should add that this is a deep blue “diverse” city.

This brings up an incident that made my day. My little grandson attends pre-school at a public elementary school in a suburb of Everett, just north of Seattle. Today I had to take him because of school bus problems. I took him to the office and got there just as the entire school began the Pledge of Allegiance, even including the words “under God.” After hearing how terribly anti-American the schools are, this showed that maybe they’re not as bad as I thought.”

On October 10, 2025 in rural Bucksnort, Tennessee there was a massive explosion at a military ammo site.
There are 19-dead, perished. There is nothing left at this location and no one is even talking about it except locally (Nashville TV). Then the conversation is (as should be) about the dead and supporting their families. Then all you get is …. it’s being investigated.

It is a terrible terrible tragedy. They are trying to rule out foul play but are not discounting it. Happened right around 7:30 AM too at the height of everyone starting their day. Heaven help those families and bring them comfort.
