Its not about drug cartels, its about heavy crude oil, the kind that the US refineries at the southern coast are specialized in.
Venezuela has the biggest proven oil reserves of such heavy crude (AFAIK), the special heavy crude oil.
Now China invested billions of dollars in Venezuela, and moved in a platform (recently – past couple of months) to start to ressurect Venezuela off-coast dormant oil wells.
Bonus Venezuela also has the longest shoreline in the carribean from what I heard. A nice strategic advantage.
If it were really about drug traficking then Mexico and Colombia would certainly be inline to be bombed next.
Certainly Mexico would have to worry.
The argument can be made that this is just your regular “run off the mill” regime change operation, the kind that we were supposed to be done with after USAID and NED got their wings clipped.

Have to start converting the US refineries on the southern coast then to other oil blends as these are specialized towards processing heavy crude. (ie. “their sludge”) That is also why the oil is shipped from Canada to southern coast. Canadian tar sands oil is generally heavy oil, not the light crude that Saudi Arabia pumps up.

My brother lives in Portland. He attends protest marches against President Trump month. He believes democrats are wiser. He claims to feel safe. These people are in denial. I have no idea what it would take to open their eyes.

I’m sorry but a lie to counter the other lie is not the solution. Portland is not ‘burning down’. That is not the problem. The problem is that the local authorities do not respect federal law there. The whole city is not burning down, although it sucks because it’s full of commies. What needs to be calmly pointed out to the public is that federal officers at the local ICE facility in Portland are being interfered with in their duties, and that local law enforcement is complicit. Trust the people to stand on the side of law and order without stooping to the Leftist level of hyperbole.
