Good morning, Garrison…we have arrived!!! It seems aeons ago , so far away we kept saying, “Come on October!!” Then, suddenly when we weren’t looking, here we are. I listen to your music differently knowing it, silly as that might seem. Just a few leaves yellowing and falling here, but in my mind this is where I am…😘

(The little chap is a British great tit, bigger than his smaller blue cousins. We had a tree we never know the name of outside the door of our house in rural N Wales where families of these colourful birds would visit. It was so lovely to open the top half of that Dutch back door in the crisp early mornings…spring or aitumn…and to be greeted by so many of them 💕)

Our old mule, Maude (Big Girl) loved kitties.
She would carefully lift each hoof to step over them, and reach down to sniff and say hello.

She was doing poorly one night (she was very old and failing fast), I stayed the night in the barn with her. She seemed to be rallying again. When I came back out an hour later, she had passed.
Our little kitty, Baby McGee, who was also beset with health problems, was curled up in her tail – saying goodbye.

Haven’t seen these guys in a while

Remember all of politics is Kabuki theater & PDJT is more into it this time around than the first, he can always slam the door in their faces at any time should he choose to do so.

From a business man perspective, PDJT wants them to do something that he needs to give them some preening for them to do so, at least potentially, even if they never give that up or at least in whole. (it worked for the Norks did it not & Kim is not a politician so to speak)

Not being a born politician & being from the biggest probably hardest city to get things done in building wise, pretty sure he is used to having to be brusk about most things especially to the media.

Morning, rah 💕 After my surgeon dad returned from his service in the Korean War, he was stationed at Ft Sam as head of the burn unit there. I’m sure he had stories but he never told them…and I knew enough to not ask. If there is any chance of making men out of what we see today, I’d guess military service, especially in time of war might be a last chance.

Rah, back then my sister had a ne’er do well son who had graduated from high school but refused to actually go to college or get a job. He literally partied all night, getting in 5-6 in the morning, sleeping all day and back out to party after dinner.

After about a year of that my sister put her foot down. You can go college and live here. You can get a job and live here. You CANNOT party all night, sleep all day and live here.

He tried a few jobs but didn’t last more than a couple of weeks at each job. He didn’t want to go to college.  

My sister suggested he try the military. He went and talked to a recruiter and amazingly signed up for the army. They promised him they would send him to Hawaii for training and him, being a beach and surfing lover, took them up on their offer.

Just when he finished basic training he was informed he would be shipping off to war. I don’t recall if it was Desert Shield or Desert Storm but off he went. He was with the group that first entered Kuwaiti City.

I remember him telling us stories of what it was like there. He said they went building to building, clearing them. The story I remember the most was entering a building and clearing all the rooms. In one room there was nothing but a table with an ashtray and a lit cigarette in the ash tray. The cigarette had not burned long enough for any ash to fall of it into the ashtray. They could not find any way into or out of that room, no hidden entrance ways, without them finding who was there. He said it really spooked him. Obviously it was a message – we are here but you can’t find us.

When he left the army after his two years were up he was a different man. I don’t know what they did to him but he was amazing. He was polite and courteous. His word was worth gold. He was a great team player. And he got a job and worked hard at doing well.

By the way, battery is all charged up and ready to go. Thanks for the help!

HELP IN DISTRESS

Jesus said: “I will be with you always!” 
And thus – He is worthy of – all praise; 
When we are weak – it is He who is strong 
He will not abandon us – all day long!

We go day to day stressed and strained; 
All helter-skelter – our efforts restrained; 
By one failure and foible after another   
The buffoonery boggles – sorely smother!

We start and stop till eventually; 
We’re just spinning our wheels unusually; 
What did we forget to consider or try? 
This is not working – but we don’t know why!

Did we pray and ask and did we receive? 
His gifts, fruits, and wisdom – did we conceive? 
Or did we just think we could do without? 
Ask not a question or wonder or doubt?

After all, we are smart – we can do it ourselves; 
We can order and sort and arrange on the shelves; 
Why would we need any assistance at all? 
We’re ready, willing, able – to answer the call!

When we try to do anything on our own; 
We reap only partially what we have sown; 
Without Jesus Christ – our success is nil; 
When we attempt to succeed – by our own will!

Through prayerful reflection – dedicate your day; 
Relinquish your effort – send your strife His way; 
Prayerfully – carefully – just listen to Him; 
Without His assistance – your chances are slim!

So next time you venture out into the world; 
Take care to pray, first – lest you be unfurled; 
Through the self and its plagues of centeredness; 
You get dire deception and pigheadedness!

Remember what Jesus has promised He’d do; 
To always be with you – send His Spirit, too; 
When you are distraught and distracted someday; 
Your Help in Distress – is the Truth, Life, and Way!

Your soul is not lost, dear smif.

Our Father so full of lovingkindness sees it, knows your heart, and will send you a Helper. Your situation has torn my heart; and as I am one who, like you, sees the evil and its terrible poisonous fruits, I am feeling your deep despair, my friend. When you find yourself thinking you can’t hold on, let Him hold on to you and for you. Whether you know it or not, this is exactly what He is doing at this moment. His broad shoulders carry the weights of so many like you in similar circumstances if you will only, in the quiet, give your burdens completely to Him. As CS Lewis wrote, simply say, “I can’t do this. You must.”

Patience offers good advice…dig deeply to accomplish one thing, no matter how mundane that one thing may seem. Time does not minimize grief, but it does allow us the distance to see it differently. There are many in these branches who I’m sure will tell you this is true. You did not come to this beautiful place by chance. My firm belief is that you were directed here, as I think we all individually have been. And I think that is God Himself helping you through the pain which you are living with.

If you start there and try to understand that His hand is working in your life, as the days go on and you look back, it will be easier to see it I think…one day at a time. Keep your focus there. And please keep sheltering with us here. You’ll find no better helpmeets than those in this blessed Tree whose hearts are open, many who have gone through what you are, and who will walk with you.

I have many whom I keep in my prayers. The list is long and grows daily. Your name is on it. God is with you always. 🙏🏻B

From my heart to yours – Peace Be With You

Smif, I am so sorry for your loss and your pain.

I empathize (3 of my 4 grandparents died because of medical errors, my father has mild cognitive changes after emergency surgery to repair injuries from a botched colonoscopy, and my father-in-law is transitioning this week to hospice because his gerontologist failed to recognize cardiac symptoms for 6 years and my fil is now too weak and cognitively damaged to undergo placement of an aortic valve device).

When Jesus our Messiah arrived, he was entitled to be the literal King of Israel (Nathan’s lineage on one side, and the royal house line of Solomon on the other). When Mary was told that her child would sit on the throne of David, that throne was occupied by Herod, an Edomite. You can read Psalm 69 to see what Jesus’ childhood was like: miserable. As an adult, most followed Him to get personal benefits, not to glorify God or be amazed that He was fulfilling centuries-old prophecies. When He went to the temple, He should have been given a crown that was waiting for Him (Zechariah 6), but was instead plotted against. He did nothing wrong, and was murdered for it.

He was killed because He loved me, and I am a sinner. Before the world came into existence, He knew I would fail, and He agreed to die for me. When Abraham took Isaac to be a sacrifice and prophesied that “God would provide Himself a Lamb”, He knew He would die on that spot in my place. When the children of Israel were camped in the wilderness, He looked down at the camp which was in the shape of a cross, and He knew He would have to be punished for my sins. When the brass serpent was raised in the desert, in the center of the cross-shaped camp, He knew He would be raised up and punished for my sins.

And His Father knew it, too. Jesus accepted horrible, torturous abuse; His Father had to permit it, without just destroying the entire world and starting over, because otherwise my sin would separate me from God forever.

Jesus went through that for you, too. He understands your pain, and He experienced pain and betrayal. Our Father understands what it is like to watch as His beloved Son experienced agony, and most did not and still do not care. He fought so that we can trust in Him and follow Him, and wait for Him to bring His justice. And He rose from the dead, fulfilling hundreds of prophecies, to do just that.

The world is evil. Satan is still the prince of this world. Don’t trust the world. It lies. It doesn’t know what truth is.

Trust the God who wrote, in advance, that He will overcome the world. He paid a heavy price for you, personally. He is your hope, because only He can save your soul. He has experienced your pain, and He loves you.

I will be praying for you.

AFTER THE TRIAL

Why feel abandoned in your hour of need
What is impeding the process to proceed 
Where the prayer warriors intercede
When it will be God’s timing to succeed

You ponder it all while waiting in the wings
Platitudes and promises other things
The schedules and preparation settings
Required readiness positionings

The frustration lies in lack of control
The encouragement fails to console
The emptiness like an open pothole
The endless wait to fill in the blackhole

Unalone in this cancerous concoction
Your Lady shares curious convection
With hopes and dreams your private projection
Under God’s wings and Angel protection

Seems to be there is a progression
A procedure to elicit regression
A series of steps to silence succession
To deter demonic cell aggression

If that does not work a new plan devised
Given the options the patient advised
One must give up something comprised

We know God works all things for our good

THE DARK SIDE

Have you been wallowing in self pity
Tempted to give up the nitty gritty
Refusing to take just one step forward
Declining to gaze beyond the shoreward 

What would you accomplish if you laid back
If you cowered afraid to pick up the slack
If for some reason you wanted to die
What would that prove in a blink of the eye

There is a reason why you were left behind
Why you are facing life lost and so blind
God has a plan for your life henceforth
And your compass will always point due north

God knows our beginning and of our end
The time He has allotted here to spend
Apparently the unbeknown to you
Is what you’re doing here and what to do

During your life you experienced much
Not always with a partner was it such

Is continuing on too much to ask

If you insist on living in the past
You will miss what God has for you amassed
His ways are not our ways and never will be
If you trust in His wisdom you will see

If you seek you will find the door open 
To a place of repose filled with hope in
The person you will find behind the door
Is someone you met long ago afore

If you prayed for someone to ease the pain
Then your healing has begun for to reign
We can’t change the past or know what will be
We have only the present and the key

What is this key to the present we hold
What if anything hidden can be told
This key represents a new day in life
The end to misery and daily strife

It opens whatever door you allow
It brings fresh ideas with it somehow
It provides a sample of what could be
When you ask God for direction you see

If you try to heal wounds without His help
You will be spinning your wheels and whelp
Around and around backward and forward
Upside and down and inside and outward

Where are you going and when will you stop
Driving yourself dizzy till when you just plop
Why do you insist God reverses course
When it is He who wrote chapter and verse

God watches you struggle every day
To change what you cannot to your own way
He gives you clues as to what you must do
But you refuse to listen and heed too

In your frustration you turn to the drink
Maybe just maybe you will cease to think
You have tried it before what did it do
Did the Dark Side solve your problem for you

The solution to your problem is clear
Listen to His voice and you will soon hear
What He wants you to know and you must do
Simple and understandable for you

I’m not sure about that dogsmaw.

If Hamas rejects the deal then Netanyahu will most likely be free to go in scorched earth and end all possibility of a “two state solution” permanently. And as blood thirsty as that may sound, it may be the least costly result in lives and treasure in the long run.
