I’m watching. I’m very disappointed that Trump has been essentially giving his “stump speech” so far. He really should have focused on his audience in his role as Commander in Chief and reinforced Hegseth’s great speech.
Sigh….
Oh, nooooooo! It’s so “concerning and disappointing”,
This is great stuff, both from Pete and POTUS.
As always, with Trump, you need to be capable of understanding the weave that leads to a larger point.
Disagree this time.
This is a meeting of most of the military’s highest ranked commanders. Hegseth just gave a fire cracker of a speech trying to refocus them on the prime mission they have — to fight and win wars.
What has Trump bragging about non military accomplishments have to do with the point of the meeting?
Trump is assuring highest military leaders that
He ends War
He has their back
He won’t start an unnecessary war
Do better and listen. Sir
I have been. The second half of his speech has been better. But bragging about tariffs? Not the time and place….
It’s not entirely out of place to remind them what they are fighting for. A strong, vibrant, successful nation.
he is the president and needs to get the MAGA message out in any and every way he can
I’m sorry … but when Trump 2.0 began, there were 2 ‘wars’ going on … Russia was fed up with what the US had made of Ukraine — so they decided to fight back; the israelis attacked Gaza and the Palestinian people — much like they’ve done with impunity and immunity since 1948.
And Trump’s way of ‘ending’ war? He ships both aggressors — Ukraine and Israel — more and more and more weapons of greater devastation and in increasing quantities.
Just like he speaks out of both sides of his mouth … folks seem to be listening out of both sides of their hearing orifices … and justifying his zionist agenda.
Once again he proves the point … a sucker is born every minute … and he counts on that to advance himself and the israeli agenda …
Israel attacked Hamas, not the people of Gaza, after a heinous cowardly attack on Israel by Hamas. You forgot that part.
It’s about our country. Our fighting men come from our country, and blend back in to our country. Active duty and veterans are the mainstay of our country. They are the ones passing the merit standards onto their children. Instilling the love of our Christian nation into their children. Anything valuable is worth protecting. I think it was great and there was a lot of information given out in this speech that we don’t have headlines about.
I felt that it was to encourage them to live up to do their part.
Thank you! Amazing Trump speech 🇺🇸
What is that smelly thing floating in the punchbowl..? again. 🙄
President seems very tired
He is 79 years old and keeping a schedule that none of his offspring and none his staff can keep up with…
Besides, yesterday he just brokered a potentially historic Mideast Peace Deal and then went directly into meetings with the TDS infected Democrats to try to get them on board with the Budget Reconciliation Package.
Try that on for size at your age….
Exactly. I’m tired just trying to keep up with PDJT’s accomplishments and pressers and I’m decades younger!
Yes, this excessive winning is exhausting!!
Please, exhaust me more!
…plus he was on the gif course all weekend!!
I am his age, in decent health, and it tires me out just listening to him listing all the things he has done. And, I am glad he speaks about it because the fake news is spewing so many lies.
Totally understand – I’m 20 yrs younger and could not maintain his schedule. He needs to give himself periodic breaks.
That’s why I wasn’t overly thrilled with him having to be the “Chair” of the committee to oversee the Gaza deal. I know he is the one they want, and maybe he wants it also, to safeguard his deal. It’s just he has so much on his plate already, literally the weight of the world. I don’t doubt his ability, but even lions get tired.
It is a pace he has been keeping his whole adult life. It doesn’t hurt that he has avoided alcohol that whole time as well. He is used to the pace and thrives on it. We are lucky to have him.
Honestly I don’t know when he ever sleeps! Yesterday he probably worked all day on that Middle East peace deal, something no prior President had the personal qualities to do, and now he’s onto the next very important part of his job, Commander in Chief.
I am amazed at how much he accomplishes for Americans every single day. I don’t think any President except for Lincoln worked as hard. That doesn’t mean he’s perfect, just that he is giving his all to make America great Again!
Remember when he flew overnight (18 hours or so) to Afghanistan to surprise the troops and feed them their Thanksgiving meal.
tired of the lies and crapola I suspect
Noticed. Only one thing I know I can do 🙏
Lol. Oh well!!! Living our best lives! @ the beach.
Beach is my happy place.
Me too! I love the man but he is starting to turn me away from his speeches. He is a great man of action and repeating his past accomplishments at every occasion , same ones, over and over detracts. IMO it makes him appear to be insecure, which he is not. Regardless, he is still the best ever.
I know, everyone is going to jump on me now for saying this.
Yeah its is so tiring to hear about all the old stuff like the peace treaty awaiting Hamas signature. Or that old action he took in Washington. Then he starts talikng about last weeks supremes ruling.
In fairness we all suffer from trying to keep up with trump and live in Trump Time. 8 months seems like 8 years.
This
Here’s what’s missing from your analysis, and why Trump is so so great, i.e., the Democrat Party is a ‘talking machine,’ full of other blabbering talking machines going 24-hours a day. Their messages are full of the vilest sophistry imaginable, which is never analyzed, questioned, or contradicted. Quite the contrary! It’s merely transfered verbatim to the biggest of all ‘talking machines,’ the leftist media conglomerates which repeat, reinforce, enlarge and ultimately, with great fervor, endorse IN FULL, with nary a word of criticism, their quite obviously vile sophistry.
But that’s not all. This biggest of biggest talking machines, the leftist media conglomerates, tear Republican contrarians limb from limb EVERY SINGLE DAY, 24-HOURS A DAY, WITH ZERO EMBARASSMENT; all of which is presumed to be true by an unsuspecting electorate that catches maybe 10 minutes a day of neatly packaged lies by pretty faces and pompous so-called experts.
So is Trump something of a talking machine, himself? Maybe, but thank God he is, because anyone interested in the truth will relish the way he dismembers these liars of liars-AND SAYS SO TO THEIR FACES.
That’s just one of many reasons why Trump is so great! In a world where truth is despised, listening to a talking machine of truth IS NOTHING LESS THAN INSPIRING, and the sweetest music.
I think you may be confusing the truth with brashness.
Voters love Trump because they get bluntness. They can trust him. There is no pretty talk with his fingers crossed behind his back. His body language is what reassures us most. The man is IN CHARGE in every setting.
I think you’re just confused…
I remember Bush who said little to nothing to defend himself from the constant negative diatribes about him and I remember people being upset he wouldn’t stand up for himself.
Trump’s accomplishments are already legend and especially after what he’s gone through I think it’s fine that he talks about them…because darn few in the media will ever give him the credit he deserves and people need to hear the truth for once.
I remember! His second term he seemed to just disappear. WE fought for him. I felt abandoned.
Will never happen with President Trump!
Trump knows his time is short to even remotely get done what he promised to do. And that voters wanted him to do.
Cut him some slack. If you let Democrats take over the house in 2026, it is ALL over. Run fast and break things, Mr President. We have your back.
of course, because the audience is mostly different
and some people (most) near to hear it more than once
before the facts generate some interest in their feeble brains lol
He did many great things in first term & to this day no credit except from our side.keep repeating mr president.
I don’t know if he was going there to make a “stump speech”.
Perhaps this is the real reason: “So I’m going over, I’m going to be meeting with Generals, and with Admirals, and with leaders; and if I don’t like somebody, I’m going to fire them right on the spot.”
See article above: President Trump and War Secretary Pete Hegseth Address Military Leaders at Quantico
Starting at 4:59 mark
Trump could be Trump -the Big Picture Guy because he knew the military was in Hegseth’s good hands.
I agree. Why should he reiterate everything Sec Hegseth just said? He moved on to bigger picture, as he should.
Since many hear, yet do not listen, President Trump needs to drive home the MAGA message.
President Trump has shed blood for his country where most, if not all, these brass have not.
Too bad you are so
“disappointed.”
Kamala and Autopen would be more to your liking?
Oh, oh! With a comment like that, it’s obvious you didn’t listen to the speech. So we’re supposed to care that you’re sighing?? Give me one reason we should care. GO WATCH THE SPEECH FROM BEGINNING TO END.
No standing ovation for the President of the United States? Totally incredible!
Military is neutral. They follow orders from the Commander in Chief, whether they are fan boys or not .And a lot of them will be looking for the exit door since they no longer belong in the new DOW.
.
Hegseth was primo. Said it all.
.
https://Twitter.com/RapidResponse47/status/1973007611198107694
Hegseth’s speech was as good as it gets.
Trump’s follow-up is, sadly, diluting the impact.
Wholly disagree. President Trump is strong in his recitation of why the US military is the best in the world.
When used properly. He is reiterating to them his unwavering support in their existence and the missions they perform.
Hardly diluting.
The disturbing aspect of Hegseth’s speech is he is simply conveying common sense. The disturbing point is that common sense needs to be said and sold to supposedly professional military leaders.
Indication of how far we’ve fallen and how much hard work still needs to be done to get us on track.
Wholly disagree with the insistence President Trump diluted Sec. Hegseth’s speech.
But you already knew that, slick.
So the question remains….how much can we reclaim? Or climb out of that ‘hole’ we have fallen into?
Somebody is optimistic about something, Lockheed Martin is up over $5 a share.
Optimistic about spending. Trump said as much “…we need to make it faster”.
This is why Lockheed stonks are up:
https://www.zerohedge.com/military/pentagon-urges-arms-makers-double-or-even-quadruple-missile-production-eye-china
Completely agree. To pretend otherwise is to refuse to read history.
Hegseth and the President have to continue to hammer verbally the “common sense” line because it is exactly “common sense” that is lacking in our government and our public discourse… It needs repeating to drill it back into the minds of the citizens…
Enough of the “academic theory” we need “common sense” or we are lost…
I am curious, is this the reason for calling them all home? There must be some non public instructions going on?
It’s so no one can say “they didn’t get the memo “ regarding the reintroduced guidelines. Quite brilliant actually.
David A,
By right leaning standards, calling them home was because more than half of them are literally retarded. Meaning mentally unfit to serve for a variety of reasons.
You have a gift for stating mere opinions as if they were statements of documented fact. Flagged for referring to anyone in our military as “retarded.”
Exactly, and they can’t slow roll the order or ignore it if it was a zoom call or email. All of them have been put on notice.
The disturbing aspect of Hegseth’s speech is he is simply conveying common sense.
Say it!
Yeah, Imagine that the top brass in our country just needed to be told in a special meeting that promotion will be based upon Meritocracy.
If this helps, I can assure you that 90 percent of our active duty soldiers, sailors and airmen are absolutely resolved to know that FINALLY they have a commander of chief and a growing patriot society that respects them and will support them as they carry out that sacred oath…something very few American citizens have ever really had accept …and almost never voluntarily.
I live in this community of warriors, and they are a very highly motivated and skilled assembly of the best of our best. They may not represent wealth in terms of what they do for our nation, and it’s probably best they do not. They push because it’s the right thing to do, not because they are getting some financial incentive that almost always gets in the way of a righteous cause.
God Bless America
After 3 obama terms, it became a military I no longer recognized. I’m happy Hegseth is bringing back the Fat Boy Program!
i WOULD SADLY SAY That This ” ALL HANDS ” Meeting of the Brass Highlights the Difference in FOCUS BETWEEN a Person FOCUSED on MILITARY ( HEGSETH )
and
The Politics of the Supporting Nation ( POTUS TRUMP ).
imHo – POTUS TRUMP COULD HAVE LIMITED His Political Comments…
BUT THEN my HERO and a Reason that i Joined, POTUS REAGAN Had the Same Flaw sometimes.
( RUBBING SALT in the Dems Wounds )
U funny!!
Your concern is duly noted.
Would you like to speak to the manager?
TDS does make one sad, doesn’t it?
Spare me.
Perhaps but he also showed up to give a speech and this action shows he’s not just saying words but there in person (action). I too, get a bit tired of his same speeches but IMO, it’s more a show of backing his Sec. of War, so, more of a “I’ve got your back” type of thing. I’m thankful for President Trump’s support of our military, being a Veteran, and having two sons as officers in the Army.
why restart a thread you have already lost?
Trump could fund a cure for cancer and you wouldn’t like that either. Go troll elsewhere.
Why should Trump steal Hegseth’s thunder. Trump went out on a limb appointing him in face of the truly grotesque opposition .Trump wins when his cabinet appointments win. He gave Hegseth his well-earned time to shine.
Stop it.
Just enjoy the days L4.
“Chair Borne Ranger”
That’ll leave a mark.
Sidewalk superintends to key board warriors…that one is my favorite…”Chair Borne Ranger”…!
Somewhere in that is cadence song meme…
“Chair borne ranger’s got a big seat, can’t leave the coffee he’s in a tight seat…”
or….”Chair borne rangers never jumped at all, they poured his coffee from his boots…”
Nice
you are something else.

He called them in to make it easier for them to directly submit the paperwork.
Back in the day, the early days of women’s rights…there was a reason women were not included in battle units and nuclear subs. I think we need to return to that and skip over the ‘anger’ and ‘hurt feelings’ of the women.
JMO.
I think that I read that almost 100% of women deployed on USNS ships come home pregnant.
Women do not belong on ships at sea. Plenty of other places where they can work within the Navy.
Intelligence: Honeypot Division.
Gives a new meaning to “hot bunking”.
these days 10 percent of the “men” claim they got fertilized too.
I will always hold my head high, but sometimes I just get furious about how ridiculous things have gotten well out of hand.
and I think about hegseth in these moments, President Trump, Vance and I feel relieved that at least at the highest order of our command structure we have PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT INSANE.
it calms me.
God Bless America
Hyperbole. I had gfs stationed on USNS, and they ended their tours without pregnancies. However, back in the late ’70s when they first started putting women on ships, many became pregnant to avoid sea duty. Nowadays, women raise their right hand knowing they’ll be sent haze grey and underway.
I can’t think of anything more detrimental to a combat mission thannto, for the sake of malignant, cancerous “diversity”, placing women into a unit, competent or not.
If that unit under deadly fire is comprised of the type of men we all hope they are, surely then their natural protective characters would be engaged on some level of the women they find themselves serving along side. I can say that for my Navy vet son, were he in such a position, that would be the case. That’s how he was reared.
Wouldn’t that be detrimental to a full focus for their mission…and survival?
Stupid is any military which makes its policy placing women in combat positions for the sake of checking ideological boxes.
Call me old fashioned or un-sisterly…I don’t care.
I cannot be dissuaded from that view.
Same
Same goes for the lil Gay boys
I come from a very very long line of military service persons, and I agree with you 100%.
But having said what I said, sis, I do not want any of our men (sons, brothers, fathers) engaging in combat. We’ve lost far, far too many in vanity wars and the ones based on lies by venal, corrupt, power mad politicians who wouldn’t know which end of a firearm the bullets come out of.
Trained and ready, yes.
The way things are going who knows…
We might need them here (Heaven forfend!!!)
No more foreign wars, absolutely!
Having come from that long line, I do also understand the necessity of being prepared to defend us AT HOME. The only defense I care about.
Speaking of our sons, I do hope your son in law is doing well. 🙏🤒🏥
Bless, dear friend….all systems go for 10/6. Nevertheless, such was the case twice before, called off last minute for both. We pray and hold our collective breath. They say third time’s the charm. Thank you 💕
I’ll be thinking of him, and you on the 6th.
😘 !!
Then why are we threatening Venezuela and saber-rattling for Ukraine, a lost proxy war.
Agreed!
somewhere in here is a joke about Sea men……:-)
Completely agree.
I see on TV shows women being portrayed as beating up or kicking some big guy into submission. How ridiculous.
We had a construction company – out of hundreds of field employees we had one woman – a big blonde – who could lift the equipment like any guy could – many of whom weren’t all that muscular appearing but strong nevertheless.
A female German leader demanded that their tanks be modified so that pregnant women could serve. Really.
Oh I absolutely believe it.
you are old fashioned:
no veneer?
straight forward
sensible
intelligent beyond your years uninfected by the toxic stupidity that seems to dribble on dolts
tough but loving and caring..who knew you can actually be all these things?
I’ll take old fashioned 8 days a week.
God Bless America
Bless regitiger…Your generous, lovely words have turned my Monday into something extra special, and I truly thank you, dear sir 💕
Watched the whole thing. It was great.
That was excellent. Oddly casual, but excellent.
Love me some Pete Hegseth! As retired USAF, I would have prized a leader like him.
Pete said the quiet part out loud
No more dudes in dresses
Lol
When men were not men….no heels either! Yay!
I liked his reference to beards and the tactical masks for breathing in combat…
I wondered if this was going to eliminate the men from India whose hair is very long and wear turbans. I think they are the Sikhs. I remember reading something about them years ago and the rules being changed for them. I just don ‘t remember if it was the military or civilian police.
In Britain when laws were passed in 1973 that motorcyclists had to wear helmets, the Sikhs were exempted.
And so now I wonder how accomdative Hegseth will be for Muslim military members in combat positions and their five times a day call to prayer. Or whether Muslims will be exempt for combat service entirely.
When I don a tin foil hat, I start to think this public address was just a cover story. There was also a private meeting more worthy of recalling all the generals. A lot of crazy happening in the world today.
i sure hope so. this is not worthy of recalling them all. weak leaders can be fired remotely.
Actually better to bring them ‘home’ and fire them here then let them infect others far away.
Any information along those lines is greatly welcomed.
But so far it’s only hopium.
Yup, I totally agree. The gathering is a cover for other meetings. If you just brought in 20 generals to talk to, those 20 would be targeted to get information from. With hundreds? Who knows who met with whom where?
There was the public gathering and then numerous private ones…be assured of that.
“They are women,” said Napoleon.
“i’m happy to educate you”
LULZ. it would be truly comical if it weren’t so marxist. when Newsom is selected next, be ready, because each side seems very intent and happy to shove the pendulum as far back as they possibly can. these people are not deterred by a lull in the republic’s collapse – the re-education camps are definitely coming.
This is why we cannot sleepwalk thru the 2026 and 2028 elections. We need to be out talking, educating, and persuading others to vote for people that will continue the MAGA vision. Otherwise, we will see retribution from the violent leftists unlike anything we have experienced before.
You mean like NYC, Dearborn, etc?
We don’t have our eye on the 2026 election which is 10 months away much less 2028. We could have a shoe-in if…
A: Stop $ and weapons to Ukraine.
B: Oil below $60.
C: Inflation below 2%
D: Mortgages at 3%
E: Car loans 2%
F: T-bills 1%
G: Gas $2 a gallon
…but it doesn’t look like we’re focused at all on any of these points!
If we make election integrity bullet proof the demoncrats will never be in power again!
🎯 🎯🎯
what is this ? who is this woman? and context for the q&a
Spoiled brat….
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sara_Jacobs
Grandfather is a billionaire. Ms, Jacob’s has also never had to work a job in the private sector. So yes, spoiled brat.
Learned a new acronym today:
“AWFUL”
Affluent White Female Urban Liberal.
Ms. Jacobs?
There’s your answer!
Listened a little to President Trump on the radio as I took my dog outside.
I was worried.
PT sounded tired and rambling.
A huge unforced error when he said there are 2 N words.
The lefties are going to have a field day.
Who listens to the lefties who have never had one good thing to say about our best President ever?
President Trump has been extremely busy. He runs circles around people half his age and gets by on very little sleep.
If he wasn’t tired from negotiating these historic deals and foreign policy breakthroughs he would not be human. I’m more focused on all of his fantastic accomplishments than I am on how peppy is his demeanor.
But that’s just me.
You must have loved the spring in Joe Biden’s step as he flopped up the steps onto AF 1 looking for ice cream. Quid pro Joe’s mechanical pen did more work than he ever did as president.
Question:
When your dog communicates with a low growl, is that
“tired and rambling”
or rather “You need to pay attention”?
The FBI facility is right down the street, Pete.
Just sayin…
The silence in that room was deafening.
And this was after Pete literally told them to clap.
Agree with others that PT’s speech was awful. It’s hard to fathom that a sitting President would actually say that he wants to meet with each of them, and if he doesn’t like somebody, they will be fired on the spot.
Every one of them serves at the pleasure of the President. It has been thus since the US Military was created. Pretending to be surprised by this is just silly.
I too noticed how very quiet they all were. Perhaps they are fat and lazy and know what’s coming. Nothing was so plain to me as hegseth putting together such a strong common sense military.
I would have like to have seen some video of the audience.
The top brass was called to attention as Hegseth left the stage. When at attention, there is no applause or cheering. That’s part of the discipline that civilians know little to nothing about.
I missed that. Who called the top brass to attention?
The sound of All Hail The Chief.
Snapping to attention is automatic when the CIC enters a room.
There was heavy applause for Hegseth as Hegseth exited. They had to wait until the stand to attention was over.
President Trump is CIC.
Being called to
the “Principal’s” office
is not a time of joviality.
Both men said what had to be said because their words had not been spoken in too long a time. The U.S. military is not a social experiment proving ground. The military is for breaking things and then coming home. Peace thru strength and the threat of total destruction.
has he said anything about “Biden’s war” yet?
This is a rambling speech that I’m not really sure what Pres Trump is trying to convey anymore. It’s hard to follow, and difficult to concentrate on the purpose of his speech when he continues to digress and periodically losing all continuity –
Lol fail.
Yesterday their operative line was “not what I voted for.” Today it’s “rambling” and “hard to follow.”
lol “their”
oh nooo! someone offered a critique! they must be “trolls” and “operatives”!
I didn’t watch it. I am sure President Trump is tired. President Trump is Old and attempting to save a dying Nation. The President has a non stop schedule of high level events that few could manage. I doubt that the speech from Trump or Hegseth was the reason for this gathering. Be grateful and accept what we have been given.
I agree, the speeches aren’t the reason for the meeting. That’s just cover.
Christ first!
I really don’t think that the reason that all these generals and high ranking military came here for a few speeches.
There are other high level secret meetings going on behind the scenes.
Others can speculate on what is going on… I just know Trump enough that the speeches are only the tip of the iceberg (so to speak).
It is obvious enough that most of the event is #CLASSIFIED.#
I hope at least half of them will be gone, especially the fat ones. Pete does PT with the troops. Every single one of those at that meeting should be doing the same thing.
What did I just watch?
And please don’t 3D Chess, etc. etc.
Did Trump mean to support the comments of Hegseth, provide assurance of improved performance, instill a sense of patriotism, or just what? I didn’t understand the focus, and I am not a troll a bot or an UnTrump. I had expectations of some large shift in policy or procedure, or an organizational disruption, or some central reason for such a meeting with such urgency.
Did I miss it? Was something done out of the public eye to warrant such an non-event?
This seems like a crack in the dam and I am happy to be wrong.
I am willing to bet that there is something else going on. There is no way that all that brass was gathered from all around the world for simple speechifying.
There might be a few less going back to their commands and some plans are being made for something big, imo.
Sometimes it is just a cigar. Hegseth’s speech conveyed the new – – or rather a return to the old – – order. Trump’s role was to confirm that the message was what he wanted without reiteration.
The return to a merit based system is huge. I doubt that Trump or Hegseth would want that message to become diluted by some other issue / meeting.
Less than full embrace of the merit approach will result in officers being relieved of command.
Given your verbiage (merit based) – the subject at hand is the Services’ promotion systems. None of them are the same. They constantly change. They are built to meet specific requirements of the Services. They are all inevitably susceptible to human intervention/foibles (e.g., selection boards). They are all designed to surface future leaders very early in the career path.
There is also an ineluctable (and iterative) link between evaluations and duty assignments as one rolls from one tour to the next. Those assignments are subject to fierce battles, power plays, and, obviously, intra as well as extra Service politics. They have a strong influence on who wins the race and who places in the pack.
Merit, IMO, is something the Services should decide – Joe or Jill Doaks sitting on the sidelines is completely unqualified to determine “Needs of the Navy”…or the Air Force…or the Marine Corps…etc…etc. The better argument is that politicization of those processes by Congress, the Executive, etc., specifically at the FLAG selection level, must be closely watched and held to account.
How do you implement a merit based system? I’m asking as someone who lived through annual military evaluations (and endless changes to the evaluation system over 20 years). I can see eliminating distractors, but at the end of the day a lot factors come into play – not just war-fighting prowess.
The Services are huge corporations as well as precision instruments of war. Moreover, the “tooth to tail” is heavily weighted to the tail. Warfighter focus as the ultimate priority? You bet. The corporate functions often require human skills and expertise the best warfighters don’t always possess. The Services promote throughout careers to meet all these demands.
The Services also reflect, for better or for worse, the social and cultural battles being fought contemporaneously. That will never go away – it follows a sprint and drift pattern.
I’m fully onboard with doing away with the DEI/Woke shape-shifting that TPTB are enforcing. Had to sit through one too many of these hand-holding exercises (i.e., time sinks while there was real work to be done). Let the Services work a difficult problem space that meets their respective requirements, their cultures, their recruiting/retention states, their traditions, their scandals (yes, that influences policy) – their decision processes for future leaders.
Merit based and physically fit to the highest degree of ability. That seemed to be what I heard so far in the parts I’ve listened to. Nothing wrong with that as long as the recognition is there will be differences in each branch of the military as far as how they do what’s best for each of them. Different needs, responsibilities and actions that distinguish each one.
Combination of high standards that must be met that is uniform across all branches, but then listening to the officers in charge and the lower levels of the members of each, recognizing the different needs of each military department. I think that will be done.
eh i am used to the “OMG you’re a trolllll” BS here… and its obvious they are in town for other things… but yeah, that speech was god awful.
What’s the immediate message being conveyed?
No one has speculated why this was televised in the first place. Can you recall such broadcasts in the past?
I can think of a few reasons – the most obvious is “civilian chain-of-command is in control of the military”.
Offering an analogy. I worked for a global family run business that was headed by a gentle guy; personable, approachable, warm and engaging. However, his sales department was totally different. Always lead by a lazar focused and professional IBM type of guy; never satisfied and a take-no-prisoners attitude. Yearly we’d (~300 sales team) gather to recognize past accomplishments, review new products and forward strategize. These events were much more than a “u-rah-rah” rally. He’d touch on every emotion. Your reason to exist was to decimate the competition. He’d pace the convention stage with backdrop graphs and numbers to reiterate the mission. Summery: the gentle Owner and his pit bull Sales Director couldn’t have been more opposite. We knew the bottom line and chain of command.
Trump is starting WAR. He is now controlled by the NEOCONS.
What war and where, Marcia?
You guys are getting crazy out here
You’re wrong here. That’s the last thing this President wants.
BTW, the usual “Marcia” post here starts with “Retired magistrate here”.
You must be another Marcia.
Yes

Yes

Yep
Retired Lt Col and engineer here. Agree.
“That’s the last thing this President wants.”
venezuela enters the chat
This bunch would be standing up and cheering if that were true. Reality is most of them hate his guts and only grudgingly go along with him to protect their jobs and cushy pension upon retirement.
No, there’s more going on than we know.
I’m going to watch this. I want to hear what they say, and not rely on someone to interpret it for me.
Always sage counsel.
Did anyone get fired?
Some may in the future… as none of the Generals can say
“I didn’t get the memo”. 😎
They will get a heads up and retire first.
Yep
That’s what I commented above, they can submit papers while in the DC sewer.
Watch President Trump’s presser in the most recent / next TCH article .
– “If I don’t like ‘em, I’m gonna fire ‘em right on the spot”
😎
Secretary Hegseth was simply amazing…His speech was breathtaking and so too the point coming from a Secretary Of War.
I’m going to suggest that this isn’t the focus of this exercise. Instead, I’d be inclined to believe that there are various fact finders out in the field at present holding candid interviews with mid-level command and non-coms while the CO and their aids are out of town.
This seems like a low-energy speech from PDJT47.
Appropriate for the occasion.
He’s the President of the United States now. Not a rally. If you want to see the YMCA you can always go to a Yankee game.
I was surprised they had these speeches streamed live…and then I wasn’t. These messages were for the general public as much as the military.
The real unprecedented purpose of gathering 800 generals in one place from around the world is being disseminated in private. We have no clue what that is really about. But THESE speeches are CLEARLY NOT the reason for the gathering. Could be the new plans for jumping into the POS war in Ukraine, or imminent concerns surrounding China and Taiwan, or could be some secret intelligence regarding 3I/Atlas that is of major importance. But it’s not about policy changes or morale.
Here’s one of many general info sites re 3I/Atlas for anyone who’s interested:
https://starwalk.space/en/news/3i-atlas-interstellar-object
Obviously most of it is secret. As expected.
This gathering together of the top brass of all the military accomplishes quite a few things, really.
First and foremost – it allows the American public to understand the scope of just how bloated the number of top brass ranks are. Americans can ask the question, “Why do we need 800 generals in ‘peace time’, when we won a world war with just a fraction of that?”
Next upon that – I am very much agreement that such a gathering was not for a speech, and that there are some major moves going on outside the public eye.
IF we are heading to war, then yes, it behooves the American national interest to sideline every general who is following an agenda counterproductive to morale and subordination to the chain of command – in particular, the Commander in Chief.
If we are staying with peace time, then major movements can be made to consolidate commands under younger officers, while weeding out the DEI and insubordinate.
Regular plans for war, and/or threat concerns, usually stay within the military hierarchies. Gathering all the top brass, including the Commander in Chief, in one place on the eve of war simply sets forth a ripe, juicy target for the enemy. Any opponent we would be warring against would be foolish NOT to take their opponent’s top command structure out in one strike when presented such an opportunity.
Whether war or peace is in our immediate future, all I can opine is that what we are seeing and hearing is not what is happening behind the scenes.
I am not happy to be honest. This should have been a closed meeting and dealing with serious, about to happen national security issues. That includes but not limited to the arrests of high profile figures and the stolen election and coup.
Last night an interview was done with a journalist who has confirmed all the info of Dominion machines through Smartmatic software. Venezuela, Cuba, China and Iran and Sebia having a central command center stealing elections worldwide since 2008.
I will also state info is starting to come out Todd Blanche, #2 at DOJ, not only is holding up progress in these investigations, but the release of Tina Peter’s in Colorado.
Here is the interview confirming what Patrick Byrne has been saying.
Sorry. Damn commercial
“…should have been a closed meeting and dealing with serious, about to happen national security issues. ”
The assumption that there are not MANY closed non public meetings is quite strange indeed.
I very much doubt that a bunch of 60 year old generals and admirals liked being preached to by a 45 year old man whose highest military rank was major in the national guard.
But I could be wrong. Maybe they loved it.
Bunch of 60 year old prima donnas. Most should be fired or demoted. Abbey Gate happened on THEIR watch. Not Hegseth’s or PDJT’s.
The President sounds a little tired, but on message.
Hegseth needs to run his Department. No matter his age, he, and PDJT, are in charge. Not these career apparatchiks..
They are probably plotting their revenge as we speak.
There’s a cheeseburger stand just a mile or so away from main Quantico. Really good burgers.
They can all “plot” there. As they flip the burgers.
You obviously never served in the military.
How can something that is false be obviously true? That makes no sense whatsoever. You must be a democrat.
And who are you, tell me again?!
Who cares if they liked it or not. Pete is the boss. They do what he says or they are gone.
They can resent it, but this isn’t an unusual circumstance. Many times the “boss” is younger. Like a 1st Lieutenant and a Chief Master Sergeant.
The same is true in the private sector. The difference being the military has the UCMJ for anyone who thinks they’re above the SECDEF.
No one likes to hear the truth if they are on the wrong side of it. They have six months to get into shape in order to pass a physical test that many of them either ignored due to their positions or fudged. Time to get real. What military wants to be led by physical marshmallows?
All I can say is that I have complete trust in President Trump. Tired or not, he’s always 3 steps ahead of everyone else.
Tired? He should be as he’s meeting with the Dems who can make anyone crazy, sending NG to keep the peace in Portland, working with Israel/Gaza, Russia and Ukraine….I would be tired also. If his speech wasn’t his usual, so be it. Give the guy some slack. People jump all over him like he has to be perfect every time he opens his mouth.
W just lived thru 4 horrid years and now we have a light at the end of the tunnel. Let’s let the meeting shake out before we tear it apart.
PT sounded very tired to me and he should be……..at the amazing pace he has been going at for years.
And yes he is bound to ramble a bit at his age.
Thankfully , there are other reasons for such a meeting of high brass other than these speeches….
sometimes you cant be totally transparent…….that is just common sense….
I hope and pray President Trump will find time to relax and refresh and that his health is good.
It is amazing how quickly Obama /Biden un-did all the good PT did his first term……..including screwing up our military,,,,,
bringing it all back the country and the military can not be done over nite and a clean new focus was needed.
“…It’s the weave. I call it the weave. You have to be very smart to do it. The main thing is you have to end up in the right location. If you end up out here, that’s no good. But I call it the weave….”
President Trump 😇
Retired Magistrate here: If I remember correctly about this time of the year President Trump gets allergies; look at the puffiness around his eyes.
I speak from experience; severe seasonal allergies can wear you out and if you take medication for them, well that is another issue. The medication can make you groggy and not on top of your game.
Marcia…i understand as it happens to me as well.
Agree. I just got to listen to some of it when I got home. He has sounded a little like he has been fighting a cold but certainly can be allergies. Mine have been acting up a bit more this fall too. Luckily my use of zinc and quercitin and green tea has tempered the reaction so far. I will take some meds if they get really bad but usually don’t have to.
i can listen to President Trump list off his accomplishments all day long. If he doesn’t say it who will? the “msm” the rinos? i have been with this good man since the escalator & ever since the butler rally i am stuck to him like glue. thank you President Trump for all you have done for us and continue to do.
he has so much going on at once and he’s handling it all with grace and strength.
may God continue to Bless & Protect our great President Trump, our families & our country. In Jesus Name. Amen.
Hegseth is our Patton.
No fat, woke generals? Isn’t that the opposite message projected around the world of our military leaders under Biden?
Good!
To be fair, AWOL Austin was pretty scary in his Darth Vadar mask
So glad to watch and listen to
President Trump and
Secretary of War Hegseth address the
military.
Secretary Hegseth lining everything out.
President Trump speaking softly but carrying a big stick.
He should have publicly fired at least 10% of these people. They’re not going to do anything differently unless they’re properly motivated. I’m so disappointed in Trump and Hegseth.
I wonder if part of all the generals, etc brought state side is to monitor communication traffic afterwards for snide remarks.
Trolls are saying “Trump is tired.” Don’t fall for the repeated phrases–it is a systematic attempt at psychological manipulation. Trump does the work of 3 men half his age. Speak this truth.
He’s certainly earned the right to be tired
Excuse me, but as to your first line, quite a few regular treepers made the same observation. There is absolutely no way they are “trolls.” It was clear they were concerned about the President pushing so hard. Now tell me I’m a concern troll. I never circle back to read the snide replies.
“Let no warfighter cry out from the grave, ‘if only I had been properly trained’. “ ——- Pete Hegseth
Amen.
The best line of his entire speech.
After scrolling through the remarks I am intrigued by the hilarious sense that many seem to be sitting in chairs equipped with buttons linked to a satellite system which records their reactions to the speech of President Trump. Like an episode of “America’s Got Talent” where the audience is the determining factor of success or failure. From “We won and he is the greatest orator in modern times” to “He didn’t make a speech that meets my high standards of political rhetoric and topical interest.”
Since he was speaking to an audience that already had been given the planned directive from the Secretary of War, Trump was under no obligation to swing for a home run in terms of making you happy. He is not your puppet. He did not fail in any way to meet some nebulous directive. He has earned the position at the podium and with all due regards to the opposing view, I think he did a respectable job of addressing his troops in the fashion of his choice. He was not talking to you.
Their lack of response is probably due more to respect for the dignity of his office than of their dissatisfaction at his remarks. Who cares anyway? The military has long been held hostage by the weakest of immoral leaders. Many in the audience are possibly among that group of highly incompetent individuals. So if they didn’t like the speech any more than you did, oh well………….God bless President Trump, Secretary Hegseth, Commander Raisin’ Cain and the entire military body. Long may they succeed in victory.
And you?
Oh! So delicious!! The following I found on the website ‘Rantingly’ as the ‘tweet of the day’ and it is beyond satisfying to share it with you…………
[Addressed to Bill Kristol in answer to this tweet]
Bill Kristol-“The senior military officers: Their silence was golden. Trump and Hegseth: At once clownish and dangerous.”
Cynical Publius: “Retired Army colonel here. Three combat tours. 60% disabled per the VA. Spent most of my tactical career in the 82nd Airborne.
Please read what I am about to say with the sneering condescension with which I intend it:
Mr. Kristol, you are a grifter. Worse, you are a lying grifter devoid of morals who lets his beliefs change with whatever winds point to more filthy lucre. Today’s speech by Secretary Hegseth was both entirely necessary and entirely spectacular. Those of us rank and file who fought in wars you and your yellow, slobbering neocon chickenhawk buddies sent us off to die in applaud this effort with the utmost enthusiasm. These clownish, dangerous, senior generals and admirals have been the architects of American military failure for 20+ years. Their silence is indicative of nothing more than the fact that they know the gig is up and their fatcat days of being Perfumed Princes are no more. So howzabout you shut your trap and let us warriors decide what this speech meant? Good day sir.”
TOLD YOU………YOWZA!!!!!!!…………………………………………………………………………………….
A VERY public ass chewing. Sorry it was needed.
Indeed-I bet they hated having to sit through it. Ha ha-too bad DEIs and fattys. You helped make the mess now it is clean-up time. Enjoy!
Obiden spent 12 years clearing out any remnants of old guard type officers in favor of furry woke shitstains like Loyd Austin and milley.
800 Generals and Admirals???
https://open.substack.com/pub/petermcculloughmd/p/americas-bloated-flag-officer-class?r=b7nwz&utm_medium=ios
A painful experience to endure. The President has become a repititous blowhard. The Secretary of War showed himself in an even less endearing light. Both men should have called in sick today. Sad, because I had such hopes for each and also high hopes for this conclave of generals and admirals which became nothing but a waste of time to watch.
My father was career military.
I have seen the ebb and flow of readiness numbers many times and this is how this ends; the standard goes up, failures and separations go up, readiness and force stability go down, the standard goes down.
I’ve seen this a million times, you can set your watch to this BS, it’s nothing new, it’s been done before and will be again.
They would never say a peep, but I guarantee that at least 95% of the folks in that room think Pete is a toolbox.
So what do you suggest – just let the women, the Col. Klingers, and the woke go on with business as it has usually been lately?
Seems to me a jolt of reality into all this pretending is healthy.
You’ll have to have to explain the correlation between improving standards and the readiness and ‘force stability’ (whatever that is) dropping.
Your last paragraph explains your agenda though, but I’d be interested to here your rationale that high standards lead to a decrease in organisational efficiency.
Can’t believe the criticism of Trump here.
Is this the same site?
“They/them” be triggered…
So what was the end game of this big pow wow everyone had to attend? I’m not hearing much about it and what is was for.
Sorry for the first post. Very poorly worded by moi. I meant I have been unable to listen to any of it because of work commitments.
So… what I am most concerned about on this front… is the OBVIOUS WAR PREPARATIONS being enacted by Trump et al…
I voted SPECIFICALLY, for the easing of war rhetoric against Putin and Russia.
Giving a blessing for hitting deep inside Russia?
Discussing giving Tomahawks to Kiev?
Zelenskyy is a dictator and has arrested and shut down ALL opposition. Ukraine is filled with young widows and the young men are mostly dead.
IS THERE AN EXTINCTION LEVEL EVENT AT PLAY, and the Powers That Be are going to try to distract us with a Global war?
This was a GIANT jerk off fest. So disappointing and a wastes if my time
WarRoom just played a clip of a fat reporter from The NYT about her response to this meeting, and she repeatedly makes it clear that she is incapable of saying Department of War, along with her other complete lack of respect.
(She looks like you’d expect a current NYT employee to look.)
The Leftist talking points were clearly released:
It was a long rambling speech and the President looks very tired.
Keep track of how many times you see this..
It was, and he does. There are approximately 8 billion adults in the world as I write this. Who, besides the President, has taken on what he has taken on? Who would even be capable? Who would even have the courage?
Kindly consider that you are misjudging many of the comments. The President is not even finished with his first year in office. Three more to go. The more successful he is, the more he is going to be pressed on all sides to please take this on, or please take care of this problem, or whatever.
Concern for the President’s health does not make one a leftist. Now add me to that list you’re keeping.
An absolute truth nuke from Secretary of War Pete Hegseth aimed fat woke military leaders 🎯
“It’s unacceptable to see fat generals and admirals in the halls of the Pentagon, and leading around the world. It’s a bad look, it’s not who we are.”
FUDers are akin to Flak, the more you attract the closer you are to the target. Trump isn’t playing games anymore, he’s tearing up the Rino Right’s playbook and giving the Left a taste of its own. Massive change, executed at a pace designed to overwhelm and demoralise, in every sphere, something his speech reinforced.
Less than a year in and judging by some posters here he’s succeeding admirably.
Due to a repairman visit I didn’t see the whole speech this morning, but reading all the comments has reminded me that even after President Trump’s Executive Order to the contrary, we continued to see flags openly displayed celebrating perverted sexual preferences (why can’t you keep it in the closet?) across the world.
After today’s meeting I would hope the “we’re proud of our depravity” crowd is not the face America shows the world.
You can bet CHY-na’s Xi watched intently. The message was crystal clear.
They’re constantly disparaging our forces as degenerate, easy prey. Maybe they’ll rethink their extremely belligerent posture.
