FBI Director Kash Patel once again rises to defend the integrity of the institution he leads.
While Tweeting a link to a Fox News story quoting him, the FBI director says, “274 FBI agents were thrown into crowd control on Jan 6 against FBI standards. That failure was on corrupt leadership. Thanks to agents stepping up, the truth is coming out. Transparency. Justice. Accountability.”
Which begs the questions: 274 FBI plainclothes agents were going to do what, exactly?… How did the FBI know to have 274 agents “on hand” prepared to intervene? And where exactly is “on hand” located?
(VIA FOX NEWS) – The FBI responded on Saturday to a report that 274 plainclothes agents were at the U.S. Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021, clarifying the role of bureau personnel while still blasting former Director Christopher Wray.
While the agents were on hand, they were sent in after the riot had begun to try to control the unruly crowd, officials told Fox News Digital. That is not the proper role of FBI agents, and Wray was not forthcoming about what happened when he testified numerous times on Capitol Hill, Director Kash Patel said.
“Agents were sent into a crowd control mission after the riot was declared by Metro Police – something that goes against FBI standards,” Patel told Fox News Digital. “This was the failure of a corrupt leadership that lied to Congress and to the American people about what really happened.”
He added, “Thanks to agents coming forward, we are now uncovering the truth. We are fully committed to transparency, and justice and accountability continues with this FBI.”
There’s no indication any FBI agents were involved in any events related to Trump’s speech on the morning of Jan. 6 at the Ellipse, an FBI official told Fox News Digital, adding that Wray should have disclosed that agents were there when he was asked by congressional leaders. (read more)
Suspicious Cat remains, well, suspicious…

I was there…I was on the crowded stairway about 10 steps from the upper platform where the scaffolding was erected. I did not make it to the platform because the capitol police started spraying tear gas. Standing right behind me during my escalation up the stairs where 2-3 shorthair buffed guys yelling repeatedly in my ears (and everyone around me) that “we’re going to break in…come on push hard and don’t stop, etc, etc...”. I looked back at them and said you’re crazy, and then I worked my way away from them and got off the stairs. I’ve told many people that these guys were definitely law enforcement, and to this day I will bet my life savings that they were FBI. I suspect that I was facially recognized going up those stairs but that I was avoided because these guys probably appeared in any photo.
Kash, please stop the bull sh!tting.
I was there, too, but I didn’t go past the barriers they set up outside the Capitol building. However, I did get needlessly and criminally attacked by the Capitol Cops when they started indiscriminately firing those explosive canisters among the crowd of tens of thousands of peaceful demonstrators, including women, children and senior citizens like me, who at that time were NOT trying to overpower those same lines of Capitol Cops on the other side of those barriers.
Even though I was incapacitated for nearly half an hour and had to have my eyes flushed out with water by some ‘angels of mercy’ that helped this blinded old man, I still count myself as being quite lucky indeed. One of the tear gas canisters exploded within a few feet of my right leg, and I could feel the concussion and heat of it before I became overwhelmed by the gas!
There were at least two innocent protesters that weren’t so fortunate. The explosive canisters blew up right next to their chests, and they later died of cardiac arrest from the shock of those explosions!
There have been solid reports about the ‘ghost busses’ full of plain clothes feds that arrived in underground parking garages before 6 am on January 6th that were published years ago, and any objective person without blinders would know that if 12 out of the 18 people on trial for the Whitmer ‘kidnapping’ lie were FBI agents, then it’s obvious they would have at least 10 to 20 times that number embedded in the crowds on Jan 6th!!!
The more Kash Patel opens his mouth, the more I believe he is an establishment plant put into his position to run out the clock.
Robert, I’ll bet that you and I were not that far from each other. When they started firing off tear gas at the top of the stairs, many in the line above me turned around and came back down the stairs. I remember saying to the person next to me that I didn’t sign up to get sprayed with tear gas, so I went directly to the 6-foot wall next to the stairway and stood on that wall for about 2 hours. My phone battery had died so I didn’t take any photos. Met several wonderful peaceful people on that wall, including a college student to went into the building (just for fun) and came out and was excited about telling his friends what he saw inside…I suspect that he went through the criminal process.
This was definitely planned out !!
Oh BS. What abut the unmarked buses(that’s illegal) that arrived early the morning of 1/6 that were photographed? Those photos were held up by Rep Clay Higgins when he was questioning Wray. And from Wray? Gobbity goo. Those agents were there from the get go on 1/6. I’d bet anything, ALL of the instigating was done by the FBI.
The FBI is not in the riot quelling business. The FBI is in the Investigation business.
The legally legitimate reason for plainclothes FBI agents to be at the scene was to collect evidence of crimes for subsequent prosecutions. Were they filming criminal activity? Did they testify against criminal defendants in the many cases brought against protesters and rioters.
“Sent to quell the riot” is not credible until we see video evidence of FBI agents arresting rioters, especially any sort of “leaders”/agitators on J6, or somehow physically helping the Capital and Metro police with riot/crowd control, stopping illegal entry into the Capitol building, etc.
Why didn’t the FBI agents discern what the “Tower Commander” was doing and stop him from directing the crowd into the melee and Capitol?
“The FBI is not in the riot quelling business.”
That’s absolutely true. The whole idea of 274 of them scattered around in a crowd that big “quelling” anything of the kind is ludicrous. Stirring something up, that’s another matter. Depends on who they send. They would send SWAT from FBI HQ and/or Hostage Rescue to do any “quelling.” Plain clothes? No. That’s for stirring stuff up, not “quelling.”
That smells worse than the fresh dropping in the suspicious cat litter box.
Maybe there were only 274 FBI agents there that were called in for crowd control, but what of the other agencies or other FBI assets? ATF, DHS, CIA, FBI Independent Contractors and Confidential Informants. Don’t stop looking and questioning; we aren’t wrong that something stinks to high heaven.
How are 274 agents going to crowd control millions ….and without ID’s?
BS! We are not stupid! I know several people who were there and they saw Antifa and FBI guys trying to incite the crowd. They are easy to spot. Bus loads of people unloading and changing into “Trump gear” behind the bushes. Antifa/FBI breaking windows and encouraging people to go inside. Trump supporters identifying Feds and Antifa and screaming at the police to do something but they were ignored. My friend even saw police in the bathroom breaking things to make it look like Trump supporters were being destructive!
Kash is pathetic!
Great memory, Margie. Not sure if you saw this 21-minute clip* below as Sundance was one of the first who posted it and it displays everything you mentioned:
Everything Wrong With The Capitol Shooting In 21 Minutes Or Less ~ 2/8/21
I know nothing about crowd control, law enforcement, etc. But logic says if you are trying to control a crowd you would not send PLAIN CLOTHES people in. Something is not right, as usual. I hope each and every person dragged off the street that was there that day, held in prison for months without due process gets a one million each. I hope somehow those prosecutors and judges that railroaded those citizens must eventually account for their mindless and cruel persecution of these people.
Flash-bangs, tear gas, batons, throw them off the balconies, beat them, shoot them, whatever it takes to calm them down.
Remember the “white supremacists” who would march in front of cameras for a block or two? I would like to compare photos of them to the FBI’s Quantico graduating classes.
