Jimmy Kimmel is going back on air, but not every station will carry it.
Disney Corp who owns ABC released the following statement: “Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country,” ABC parent The Walt Disney Company said in a statement Monday. It is a decision we made because we felt some of the comments were ill-timed and thus insensitive. We have spent the last days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations, we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday.”
Both Nexstar Media and Sinclair Media are refusing to permit the ABC affiliate broadcast of the Jimmy Kimmel show.
Nexstar saying: “We made a decision last week to preempt “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” following what ABC referred to as Mr. Kimmel’s “ill-timed and insensitive” comments at a critical time in our national discourse. We stand by that decision pending assurance that all parties are committed to fostering an environment of respectful, constructive dialogue in the markets we serve. In the meantime, we note that “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” will be available nationwide on multiple Disney-owned streaming products, while our stations will focus on continuing to produce local news and other programming relevant to their respective markets.”
Sinclair saying: “Beginning Tuesday night, Sinclair will be preempting ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ across our ABC affiliate stations and replacing it with news programming. Discussions with ABC are ongoing as we evaluate the show’s potential return,” Sinclair said in a statement.
Sinclair and Nexstar represent about 60 ABC affiliates, approximately one-third of the broadcast audience.

Ka-Boom! LOL
not sure what’s so confusing…
of course everyone has the right to free speech
but nothing in our constitution bestows anyone the right to a platform for that speech
… and you are responsible for that speech … especially if you currently make a living from selling it.
As one recent political cartoon put it: Yes, the Constitution protects your right to “free speech.” But it also protects your right “to remain silent.”
If you lack the common sense to know what not to say, and when not to say it, then you deserve whatever you get from your employers.
Right to Free speech, yes
Right to be heard, no
Actually, it is ABC that pays Kimmel to speak on their platform.
Hence it is ABC’s speach, not Kimmel’s.
I am glad Nexstar and Sinclair are asserting their rights over speach on their platforms.
Frankly, this is a publicity stunt by ABC and Kimmel but it must fail without Sinclair and Nexstar.
Under the law, you are correct Budalysis.
The people owning the ‘right to broadcast over the airwaves’ = determines who can appear on their shows. We the people are prohibited from ‘broadcasting’ over the ‘public’ airwaves with our own equipment. … A person can be on their own property and have the broadcasting waves, cell phone microwaves, radar and such all traveling through the air, home, and body of the citizen sitting on their own property. It’s against the law to interfere with all the ‘broadcast’ waves passing through you and your property. [A tinfoil hat is legal to wear, however.]
Under the law, the ‘common good’ of society allows the select few to control – what is seen and heard.
This has changed a great deal with the Internet, and we now can view such good sites as TheConservativeTreehouse. … The link for financial support is on the sidebar. … In the not so recent past, average citizens were limited to standing on a chair in a public plaza to speak to the public, that would congregate at the plaza to listen.
There is a current effort to control the new ‘modern’ plaza the Internet by some powerful people. Thankfully, we live in America and have access to a relatively free Internet. In most other countries the Internet programming can be very controlled.
…… Some providers of Internet access in the USA limited what was said about the integrity of our USA election process. President Trump was even ‘banned’ from commenting on a very large provider site.
More talented writers have explained our ‘access’ to public speaking areas, informational news, and control of the information released to the citizens of particular countries. … We can talk about ‘freedom of speech’ and other civil rights. BUT =
…… We also need to have the right to >necessary information. NOT too long ago, many people in our world were >misinformed about the ‘Dangerous and Ineffectual’ Covid-19 shot and the Wuhan Flu.
TheConservativeTreehouse is a needed site that should be financially supported.
I read that Gavin Newsom is going to be Mr. Kimmel’s guest.
🤣🤣🤣
You could call that a double dip 🙂
Is one way of saying it.
Better have the Roto-Rooter on standby … that pair’s a-gonna clog the commode.
One of a kind beats that pair.
I would call it double doosh.
Well now, there’s a winning strategy. They’re perfect together. 🤮🤮
Great start to the great divide.
Really? That much stupid in one space? What about the protocols sorrouding “continuity of stupid?” If something happens they will BOTH be gone.
Guaranteed downward projectory! Well done, Kimmel! First boot due to what you said. Second boot will be a ratings failure!! Well done!!
uh, Kibbleforbrains’ ratings were already in steep decline before his last stupid rant
LOL! He’s a loser!!
FCC should not allow butt buddies on the same show at the same time. LOL
God Bless Nexstar and Sinclair! The Restoration continues!
Amen
There are other issues, threats, and challenges which need our immediate attention.
Therefore…
1/3 of a small number is a small number.
MAGA is the majority.
MAGA won’t watch.
Doomed to fail due to the rating this time. There aren’t enough loonies to keep him afloat.
My “morbid curiosity” reflex can’t wait to see how this loathsome tool “explains” why he told a huge lie about Kirk’s killer to his audience.
Losing about a third of the audience ought to make Kimmels’s sponsor demand a huge rebate on tneir fees 😎
Takeit out of Kimmel’s paycheck 🤗
Do you honestly think that he’ll explain anything to his equally loathsome audience?
Good grief – I honestly think there’s some leftover USAID $$ that’s carrying this godawful show. May the rest of these late night hosts go the way of the buggy whip.
That’s the point, really. What he said wasn’t “ill timed and therefore insensitive.” It was false and defamatory.
I unfortunately think this make more leftists flock to his show, at least temporarily.
Yeah, The View is still on.
His message was to the craziods leftists, do what you want, we’ll whitewash and cover for you.
Disney was too stupid to shut him down for economic reasons which should have been done years ago. They could have avoided all of this mess using that even now had they chose to so, but their wokeness will not allow them to make good business decisions for their stockholders.
Disney has allowed Kathleen Kennedy to destroy Star Wars, Indiana Jones and even Willow with extreme prejudice for the past decade. Disney has likewise allowed Dave Filoni to wreck havoc on the once-invincible MCU. Let’s not even talk about what’s happening at Pixar. And that all has cost Disney billions. Keeping Jimmy Kimmel on the air is chump change next to other things going on.
The CEO donated to Hilary’s campaign. Tells you enough.
Ah, but it is very obvious that the Disney Corporation has an extreme agenda more important to it than loosing multiple millions of $$$.
I think of it as financialy suicidal crash and burn mode.
Disney has become a complete perversion of what it once was.
I say ~WHATEVER~
(and burn in hell)
There’s got to be more to this than we currently know.
Yes
ALL publicity is good publicity…………the 1st assures that. It also creates chaos, calm, security, rights, but mainly ‘sides’…….and sides clashing causes Ka-Booms.
Necessary evil?? I wouldn’t want the 1st impinged on. Morality is a necessity for it to work though.
God help US
The 1st amendment only applies to the government restricting speech.
It doesn’t say anything at all about an employee saying something ridiculous or evil and then the employer firing said person for “violating workspace rules.”
It frankly makes me nuts that so many people seem to think that the 1st amendment applies to ANY speech, ANYWHERE, at ANYTIME.
What you said OFFENDS me, Scotty!
I’m going to sue you!!!
😝
So is Trump’s stand against Kimmel ‘his stand’ or the POTUS’s stand. Hard for me to separate the role of ‘government’ and personal when it comes to speaking/opinions. And what’s unlawful – is free speech ever unlawful?? In the ‘workplace’….offensive, dividing, troublesome; but unlawful? Lose your job for it?
Cessation of prayers and the 10 Commandments in schools and public places; government or personal??
Do government representatives (us) act for the government or strictly personal when we voice opinions? Do ’employers’ have the right to restrict speech during working hours? ‘workplace rules’? Especially if you have an ‘opinion’ job. Isn’t that what ‘politics’ is all about……..opinions.
The 1st protects your right to free speech, unimpeded by the government – ergo no government restrictions.
If violence ensues, who’s to blame, the offender or the opinion??
I noticed on the coverage maps, these 2 have a good amount of conservative areas and not much deep commie areas. I think their California coverage is the Northeast part. None in the coastal. Didn’t seem like they had the New York city area.
The other syndicates will get rid of him for the same reasons why the other hack got shut down. Too expensive, no return on investment. Not a joke. Pun intended.
He just doesn’t have marker value. That’s why he took his “shot”. It was a desperate attempt to draw attention, eyeballs but that still.diwsjt sell product and that’s the bottom line.
Which is good to see the so called free market operate normally. If you can’t sell product you get fired. Bottom line.
Good riddance. Just not a funny guy. Same as the other hack. You start out with some pretty good satire and comedy but then you end up committing offenses against what I call the cardinal rule of johnny Carson. Johnny had a long run because his show was entertaining fun and not toxic nor was it political. Sane thing with letterman. You have to focus on what makes people feel comfortable with. That’s the real product. I’ll sit up late at night and wind down with funny stuff. Everyone likes that. But then you start making unfunny political commentary, dehumanizing a very well loved man who was just assassinated and then tell lies knowing them to be false.
Well that how you end up not selling bud light.
Good. That’s how business should work.
Give it a few more weeks kimmell is on his way out. .can’t sell product.
RGod Bless America
Remember this Disney “character” 2023: https://nypost.com/2023/05/30/disney-blasted-for-allowing-male-employee-to-wear-dress-makeup/
I’ve seen pictures from this year and it looks like that creep is still employed there. Disney does not care.
Disney is well known to have what one might call issues…
Nexstar and Sinclare are actually doing Kimmel a favor. This way people can’t see how bad his show really is.
Per the Vince show
ABC suspends the show
ABC was supposed to replace it las week with a tribute to Charlie Kirk
ABC received several credible threats of violence is they aired the Kirk tribute
At the last second ABC decided not to show the Kirk tribute and instead put it on youtube
ABC then decided to bring Kimmel back in
Per Vince we can likely assume ABC kowtowed to the terrorists making threats.
i believe you have this wrong. I recall ABC said they would show ‘Celebrity Family Feud’ in place of Kimmel’s show. It was Sinclair Broadcasting that said they would show the Charlie Kirk documentary. I do not know what was aired, as I don’t watch broadcast TV.
I read that yesterday as well.

“It is a decision we made because we felt some of the comments were ill-timed and thus insensitive.”
Actually, the comments were flat out lies and Kimmel knew it when he said them…but, aside from that, he’s not funny, his ratings are in the tank, and Disney thought this was going to be a good way to can him, while blaming it on “Trump’s FCC”, thereby gaining cred with the Lefties with TDS!
ABC/Disney was probably getting actual dollars from the DNC/GMO’s/Democrats prior to Trump’s new administration which allowed them to supplant their losses.
I think you are 100% correct! Whether it is Hollywood, MSM, NGOs/non-profits, or the Education Industrial Complex, they have all been cut off from the unending supply of OUR tax dollars and suddenly, the people in charge are actually having to justify their exorbitant costs and they are panic stricken because they CAN’T and they know it!
“The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money” Margaret Thatcher
Not ‘our’ tax dollars. Money stolen from our children (and their children, if they have any)
How evil are people who actually steal from babies?
Oops, moved up.
And you can’t say anything you feel like on Public Airways broadcasts. It ain’t cable.
That’s a yuge assumption (that he knew it was a lie). These people live in a bubble and all it takes is one moron to tell a lie in that bubble for the rest of the morons in the bubble to have plausible deniability about the lie. They believe the lie to be true because they can’t imagine bring lied to.
I like that DC is part of the blackout stations.
And Portland, Oregon!
What are all those ANTIFA thugs and their limp white groupies gonna do now for entertainment? Go out and polish their……George Floyd statues?
I almost feel sorry for Iger. We know he’s a driving force of all this — he can’t not know, but at times like these, he looks as if he’s also captive to the left. Live with the pigs and you’ll get some stank on ya.
No he donated to Hilary’s campaign.
Had he been to Epstein Island?
Oh, thank god! I was going crazy at 10:30 trying to figure out what to watch. /S
But what will Eric Swalwell and his lying cronies cry about now?
What a losing HILL to DIE ON for Disney and ABC. Kimmel’s ratings were in the toilet. How long before the advertisers say to hell with Kimmel .
What can you expect from Disney who has went into gaydom.
I tried to watch four movies on Prime last night – the first gayness encountered — I deleted it. Unwatchable. They do label some movies LGBTQ but not all.
I suppose this controversy is teaching us about networks and affiliates. I looked up my local ABC affiliate and found out it is owned by Scripps, which apparently is the third largest group of station owners. I haven’t heard anything about where Scripps stands on all this, except the clue might be that last night it was showing Celebrity Family Feud and tonight it will be showing Kimmel, not that I would be watching either.
Looks like Nexstar and Sinclair are willing to lose some revenue to make their point to ABC, which is already losing big bucks on Jimmy and stands to lose even more.
Maybe the “thoughtful conversations with jimmy” were about substantially reducing his show budget, and personal salary?
Advertising revenue is based on the number of viewers, which was already quite small, well less than 1% of, say, 320 million people in the US.
Will Nextar Media and Sinclair Media be able to gain enough local advertising to sustain late-night disconnection from Disney-ABC?
For this reason it is important that if you live in the markets not airing Kimmel that you DO TUNE IN to help Sinclair and Nestar retain their advertisers. They need your support if you are in their cities – just put it on mute and go about your evening
Neilson used to ‘count’ viewers by placing a reporting TV in statistically-selected homes. I don’t know what they do now.
I assume that the cable companies are able to keep track of who is watching what. (if there are not ‘privacy’ impediments)
Who’s Jimmy Kimmel and why should I care?
Tells lies faster than a speeding bullet, more fumes than a coal fired locomotive, able to leap all truth in a single bound!
Look, but don’t stare, it’s Jimmy Kimmel ad he’s back !!!
This morning AmaraGrace posted the following
Yesterday @Peace posted the sponsors – Thanks Peace!
Be a shame if their incomes dropped off & dried up in BudLite fashion…
“… Disney might be able to air that nasty Satanist, but we have every right to boycott the companies that advertise on ABC and Disney. Start by cancelling your Disney subscription today. Next, boycott their parks. Here are the main sponsors of the Jimmy Kimmel Show (per AI): Apple, McDonald’s, Starbucks, Kit Kat, Smirnoff, Impossible Foods, DiGiorno Pizza, Venmo, Chime, Credit Karma, JCPenney, AT&T”
To quote Jimmy Crack Corn: “I don’t care.”
Jim Jordan thumping his chest over the Google admission of censorship. There are no fines, no compensation to creators for revenue lost no penalties at all for Google. Just a confession and token promise to never do it again. In other words a typical outcome of a GOP congressional investigation.
Too late.
Hmmm…
How is this possible that PDJT is allowing Kimmel back on the air?
Oh that’s right, because he didn’t pull them off the air in the first place, it was ABC!
This completely obliterates the lefts dictatorship aka “freedom of speech is under attack” narrative.
Nexstar & Sinclair holding the line also paints a pretty clear picture of who’s calling the shots.
This show is on borrowed time!
🎯
Kimmel’s show is also on a borrowed dime. And the lenders are getting pissed off.
Great! They can keep spending million$ for a ratings loser who proves how toxic the Left has become.
Let’s not interfere with them destroying their own brand. 🤣
Propaganda has no cost to the left!!! Leftist’s aren’t capitalists but ideologues!!! As long as leftist propaganda is filling the broadcast waves they have no problem with losing money!!! With billionaire benefactors like Soros leftist propaganda will continue to flow!!! JMO
Well…I really could not give a feces as I never watched the show anyways.
But kudos to those who are standing firm.
FILTHY LIBERALS
Vile Scum like the FILTHY LIBERAL Kimmel, are so miserable inside, they project that as venom.
Filthy Kimmel, likely has no idea why we don’t take his joke as just a joke.
If he were truthful, we might laugh at his stuff. Kimmel lied about our nicest conservative icon. Charlie Kirk deserves NONE OF THE BILE THAT KIMMEL SPEWS.
Charlie was respectful, and always kind, and whenever he won a person over, he never said “I told you so”…..he said “WELCOME”
WE DIDN’T MAKE THE NEW RULES, BUT THESE ARE THE NEW RULES….
Btw, people all over X are posting photos of sandwiches and getting 3.9 million views, comparing it to KIMMELS Views- 92,000. WE DIDN’T CANCEL CRYBABY KIMMEL…His pisspoor performance did…
Bye Bye Kimmel you unfunny loser.
FILTHY LIBERALS
This fool isn’t going to end with a bang, but with a whimper.
Boycott Disney, they own ABC.
I can’t remember the last time I watched anything on network television and I don’t intend to start now. TV went full on commie propaganda a long, long time ago.
Once you see it you can’t unsee it.
# The more you know.. spit.
I agree, but almost no one boycotted the NFL when the kneeling thing was happening. Now we have a black national anthem.
I will continue to not watching.
If that man’s so-called “career” is not completely done yet, it is very close.
It’s one thing for “individual stations” to decide that they’ve had enough of you. Quite another for a distributor.
Consequence culture is way better than cancel culture. Being fired or suspended by your employer for insensitive comments is quite different than being summarily dismissed because your politics don’t fit with your employer’s is totally different.
Canceled vs. Consequenced.
GOOD.
Although I sincerly believe Kimmel does not give a whit; he’s got enough dough.
Eff you see cay > DISNEY!
Ever since Charlie was assassinated:
More and more people — mostly Gen Z — are registering as Republicans to vote for the first time in their lives.
More and more registered Democrats are switching their registrations to Republican.
More and more people are attending church on Sundays.
More and more Democrats are speaking out against their party.
It is clear to me that Americans, and the world, are seeing the sheer horror, deception, dishonesty and destruction wrought by leftists. They have over-played their hand, and they’re now losing badly. In fact, they’re getting crushed.
I believe the pressure will continue to build, that more and more people will continue to gain enlightenment, and that current leftist ideology — including climate change, globalism, illegal immigration, and LGBTQ+ insanity — are all heading for the dustbin of history.
And for all of it, Charlie is responsible. God’s purpose. Amazing to watch.
Jimmy said he was making a joke, but I thought it would have been funnier if he blamed MAGA for the assassination while he was wearing his blackface.
Now that would have made me chuckle.
Or Chinese face. That always makes people laugh. Fu Manchu.
I wonder if this was more of a ‘legal’ rather than ‘moral’ decision for Disney. From what I understand, Kimmel’s contract expires in October, so it will be interesting to see if Disney renews it. In the meantime, I believe that Sinclair is the affiliate for Washington DC, so our progressive friends will have to go elsewhere to watch it.
Disney Magic has brought Jimmy Kimmel back to life.
Can Disney Magic bring Charlie Kirk back to life, too?
I’m hugely grateful to these broadcasters for holding the line and refusing to air this boil on Disney’s ugly butt.
And as disgusted as I am with Disney, it might just turn out to be amusing to watch the ratings on this loser continue to fall in the months between now and when his contract is set to expire in May.
I thought my disgust with disney had hit bottom, but this episode dug the pit even deeper.
I hope butt-boil boy twists in the wind and his pathetic show dies on the vine, taking the disney stalk with it. May the entire toxic plant rot all the way down to its rotten roots and blow away.
Don’t spend your money with or clicks on entities that want you dead.
Looks like KIVI TV in Boise has it on the schedule for tonight. Ima blasting them on all the socials. Blasphemous that Seattle and Portland Sinclair stations are pulling it, but not red ID.
Squeaky wheels get the grease.
Horrendous decision by Disney!! Everyone with children or grandchildren should boycott Disney products and their highly woke “amusement” parks!! They are despicable!! 💁🏻♀️
With Nexstar and Sinclair not airing the show, Kimmel would have been better off doing a podcast from his basement.
Good. This turd was getting way more attention for being fired than he ever did for being not-funny on his low rated show (not that I’ve ever seen it).
His rhetoric was hateful and vile, but he did not advocate for violence. Much better to let this buffoon circle the drain of popular opinion on his own. Bonus, ABC continues to hemorrhage money on their programming “choices”: leftist drivel, always.
For a comedian, Kimmel sure has terrible timing. He does not know how to read the room. He sucked before he impugn Charlie’s memory, and he’ll suck when he returns to his very dim spotlight.
You know who CAN read the room? Nexstar and Sinclair Media. Hat tip to them.
