I looked up Arlington Heights when I found out it was west of Chicago. Back in my twenties I lived in Hinsdale (west of Chicago). It was great. I used to take the suburban train in to Chicago. Chicago will always make my heart go flip flop. The train stop was a block from the hospital where I worked. My mom was always asking me why I was always going over to Chicago. I told her I was looking for a man. That didn’t go over to well with her. LOL
That was a marvelous live performance. More so, the videography brought us the great musicianship as it was being performed.
And it looked to me that the cuts between cameras were live too. If so, it was a masterful job, requiring detailed knowledge of the songs and the performers, even setting it all up in advance to be sure.
If I am wrong, it is still masterful editing.

Good morning Betsy. Thank you for providing, again, the best caturday images. Cat-erpillar gave me many smiles, chicken for the birthday, all the kittens including the ‘cheetos”, Queen while you clean up puke were my favorites today. Feel quite sorry for the cowboy trying to herd the cats. Happen to have that card in my stash of cards.
Cat central update: They do not seem none the worse for their surgery except they are not eating as much as they normally would. They are sleeping more than usual, but do have the “zoomies” when awake, and want to play. A few seem to still feel at odds after surgery. Do not see any problems with their incisions and stitches. They seem to be healing well. I can only assume that, because of their young age, they are still feeling the after effects of the drugs and surgery.
I will just keep a close eye on them and hope they will get back to normal soon. Maybe I am worrying a bit more than I should.
I have not been feeling myself as well. Pollen count is extremely high here and I have had horrible allergy symptons since Sunday the 7th. So I am not “up to snuff” myself either. Taking some homeopathic allergy tablets specifically for Texas pollens and trees that help much better than the over the counter junk the doctor said I should take once a day. Tried it and felt so bad the next morning I thought nope not going to take that again. Also taking some capsules from Natures Sunshine called seasonal allergy, 2-3 x day with meals and they are also helping.
I have become so cynical about all the pharmaceuticals, over the counter, and prescription drugs. I’ve decided what God put into nature is probably the best remedies and will continue to pursue those remedies as I have seen improvement on myself with these rather than the other junk. Also honey is helping my throat to feel better.
Enough about me. Hope all is well with you after several very sad days of which are reminders of the evil that lurks around all of God’s people everywhere. I am praying you and yours have a very blessed weekend.
Oh I’m sorry, Pat. We suffer from seasonal allergies as well. Ordered generic Zyrtec on Amazon which is so much cheaper. No side effects and quite effective. I’d be like you. Medicine has one chance to get it right and if not? Well, no second chances. We just threw out some turmeric with black pepper because Brian’s he pathologists said in pill form its bad on the liver. He would know, so in the trash it went.
I’m sorry your little boarders are lagging. Perhaps their get up and go go to was removed along with the usual. We always found that ours we had “seen to” became more docile once they recovered fully. I do so hope that’s what is happening 🙏🏻
Yes, a week we didn’t see coming. It has left me so disjointed, and I’m having a hard time finding my equilibrium. This one hurt, especially as he and his wife and children were so very happy. All gone on an instant of hatred and insanity. Only God knows why. Let’s just say a terrible line was crossed at unimaginable, heartbreaking cost. The world is today an emptier place.
But I see that there have been 18,000 applications for new TPUSA chapters, which I see as the Lord our God using terrible evil and its fruits for the power of good. I think it’s going to be a while before we recover from this heinous assassination. But longer for Charlie’s family. And I believe that our sorrow comes from our grief for them 💔🙏🏻

Just got here, Bet love. I’m seeking a little solace by fettling my vintage old Alfa. I find that working with my hands is not only satisfying but also calming. Only problem is there are things these 81 year old bones having trouble doing. Fortunately, I have a 30 something neighbor who also likes cars and want/s to “learn more about old analog cars” . . . Next up: bleed the brakes and replace the brake booster. My goal is to get the little car (and myself) ready for fall jaunts into the beautiful Texas Hill Country. Can hardly wait.
Little ‘Tink is having a great day . . . great for me anyway. She’s suddenly started using her kitty box, something that is quite a departure for a formally feral kitty. Why now? I attribute the change to her oddly manifesting maturity. A few months ago she suddenly stopped being feral and almost over night became a cat—affectionate, attentive to me (sleeping on my shoulder), climbing on my lap for a chin rub, etc. This latest change is most welcome.

Sounds like Tink is adjusting well to home living rather than on the street living. Momma cat is letting me pet her but will not let me pick her up and does not get near me yet. Her kittens, on the other hand, are very socialized and like to get on my lap to sleep and would love nothing better than to sleep with me at night, but seven is just too much to have on the bed, along with Beau my dog. I think Beau would take great “umbrage” if I allowed all of them on the bed with me.

Biography: August Krogh won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1920. He made important discoveries about how blood flows in muscles and other organs, and was awarded the prize “for his discovery of the capillary motor regulating mechanism.”
Krogh studied at the University of Copenhagen, earning his PhD in 1903. He began teaching there in 1908 and became a full professor in 1916. At the university, he led the first laboratory dedicated to animal physiology.
His research focused on how the body regulates blood flow in small blood vessels called capillaries, work which earned him the Nobel Prize. Krogh also invented a variety of scientific instruments, including a device to measure breathing.
Krogh collaborated with other famous scientists. He worked with Nobel laureates George de Hevesy and Niels Bohr on various projects. With his wife Marie Krogh, also a scientist, he first brought insulin production to Denmark.
In 1931, Krogh was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He later became a member of the United States National Academy of Sciences and the American Philosophical Society.
Krogh and Marie had four children. Their youngest, Bodil Schmidt-Nielsen, became a well-known physiologist herself.

Well. A bit of a fall tradition. My kids and I go out to my parents house and walk along the rail road tracks behind their house and we pick bags of wild grape clusters.
At home we boil them down and smash them up into grape juice. Once boiling we pour into mason jars for canning.
Quite a remarkable flavour. A little sugar can be added to suit taste.

We need to set the record straight about this “equivalency” between the murder of Representative Hortman and her husband and Charlie Kirk. These are NOT even close to being the same.
First, may God welcome Representative Hortman and her husband into heaven and watch over their family. Terrible tragedy. But they were unknowns for most Americans and not political targets on the National stage. Furthermore, we really don’t know if Vance Boelter was truly ‘right wing’ and what his motives were. We know his ‘list’ had tons of errors, the type that a truly politically motivated person would not make IMO. Also, according to direct reporting from the Minnesota Star Tribune, after the arrest Vance Boelter, he told the FBI that Minnesota Governor Tim Walz hired him to kill U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar. The left never reports that.
Charlie was targeted a killed by the left…a direct result of them calling Trump and Kirk and all those who support them a Nazi and white supremacist…and then ask for us to ‘turn the temperature down’. This post by “A Mighty Girl” is exactly what I’m seeing online everywhere in the past 72 hrs. Basically, political violence must stop…and Trump Trump Trump.

David’s psalm of thanksgiving.
– This chapter is a psalm of praise; we find it afterwards nearly as #Ps 18|. They that trust God in the way of duty, shall find him a present help in their greatest dangers: David did so. Remarkable preservations should be particularly mentioned in our praises. We shall never be delivered from all enemies till we get to heaven. God will preserve all his people, #2Ti 4:18|. Those who receive signal mercies from God, ought to give him the glory. In the day that God delivered David, he sang this song. While the mercy is fresh, and we are most affected with it, let the thank-offering be brought, to be kindled with the fire of that affection. WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

I have few words that come close to expressing what I feel about the NC stabbing, then Charlie Kirk assassination.
I am not free to respond due to chokehold the medical industry has on me and my peers in so many ways. We cannot operate. Our technology is so good. Most professional front line people are good, but quality is diminishing as education diminishes. Professionally mature physicians and nurses cannot grow. We are surviving the demands of the moneymakers.
Charlie was doing what I hoped to do through medicine. I am 64. Should be in professional prime, but discouraged.
Part of me wants to join Turning Point, do my best to prepare myself to speak and teach half as good as Charlie, and go where God leads.
I am sad for my dad, sad for my children and grandchildren. Sad for the incremental destruction that has been done to this country, and more importantly — the people — including the people I love.
I hope the Turning Point, MAGA, Christian rival continues in the country and in the world.

BUT GOD KNOWS
We do not know what tomorrow will bring
In reality we are not sure of anything
We close our eyes give way to sleep
There is no guarantee not even a peep
We say good-night to those we love
Entrust our rest to God above
Who knows the beginning from the end
Our entire life it is He who penned
Our days are full of challenges we know not
The what when why and how the outcome naught
As we awaken to a brand new day
It is God who is there to guide our way
It is He who brings light into our lives
It is we who strive and trustingly thrives
It is He who shows us the path the way
Who unconditionally loves us everyday
It is He who gave us our free will choice
It is He who gave us His grace to voice
Our decisions be they right or wrong
Will determine our stance weak or strong
Will we give in to temptation and quit
Will we be weak and meek not give a whit
Will we be strong and fight the good fight
Or will we be tempted to just take flight
We have no insight into what might come
We have no idea what direction from
If our lives are justified through others
If our needs are fulfilled by another’s
If we live each day in the last place
Will we ever be first in any case
Will we finally learn to love ourselves
Or leave our desires on the shelves
In every phase of life on earth
What we do will prove our worth
How we adjust to the highs and lows
Will determine which way our life goes
When stuck in a rut of sorrow and woe
We really have no direction to go
We haven’t asked God what He wants us to do
We are simply comfortable in feeling blue
We grieve our situation and that’s ok
He would not want it any other way
We seem to think we will figure it out
All on our own mind you we have no doubt
But God knows and He will wait for you
He’ll show you daily what He wants you to do
Signs and wonders before you displayed
All in the balance come forth to be weighed
Love one another is what you must do
Love one another as He has loved you
Listen to the clues He provides you each day
Being true to yourself is the only way
Now is the time to spread your wings
To set your sights on universal things
You might have no idea what that means
But God Knows what He put in your genes
