Qatar has been accused of harboring individuals linked to terrorist organizations. Muslim Brother/Qatar=Terrorist/Terrorist supporters. They not only new about Oct 7, they gave their blessing. They have full control over Hamas and the negotiations and they could have ended this before it started, but they didn’t. Qatar is evil and the fact they give billions to universities around the world and sit in Boards of the largest global companies and nobody cares, is a problem. There should be no illusions here of who they are and what their goals are in the west. Israel is dragging the US into anything. After the savagery of Oct 7, the torture, rape, sadistic murders that took place in Israel, you better believe that Israel is doing whatever normal government should do if they were attacked.

So walk in their shoes for 75 years, heck try to endure for 20 years, 10 years and see how you handle it. Karoline Leavitt in her press briefing assured Qatar that no strike like this would happen again. She said “Unilaterally bombing inside Qatar, a sovereign nation and close ally of the United States, that is working very hard, and bravely taking risks with us to broker peace does not advance Israel or America’s goals.” She allowed that taking out Hamas is a “worthy goal,” but that President Trump sees Qatar as an “ally and friend of the United States” and did not approve of the attack.
While I understand why the President would take such a stance, since not doing so could negatively affect any bargaining position he may want to advance, Qatar can hardly be viewed as either an ally or friend of the U.S., and has hardly been a neutral player. They have directly or indirectly funded, or permitted funding to pass through Qatar, to most or all of the terror groups that have operated against Israel for years, long before 10/7, and have openly given shelter to some of the most despicable terrorists and terror supporters in the world.
There is no international law protecting any Hamas leader or member. They are unlawful combatants and Israel is well within their rights to go after them anywhere they may be. If any country tries to give aid and sanctuary to them, as Qatar has been doing for many years, they have nothing to complain about if Israel takes action against those people, even on their own territory. Israel very precisely targeted them to minimize damage to property and non-Hamas people. Neither Hamas or the other terror groups would be so discriminating trying to protect bystanders.
If Qatar wants this kind of action not to happen, then they should expel all members of all terrorist groups. That might also help further Qatari interests, if they have any such interest, by letting them at least appear to be a neutral party capable of interceding between both sides. That they give aid and sanctuary and funding to them instead gives the lie (sorry, Karoline, but it is at least disingenuous) that Qatar is “working very hard” and “bravely taking risks” to achieve peace in the Middle East. I think it is much more likely that Qatar is playing a long game to see that Hamas and the other terror groups always survive to see another day and another attack upon Israel.
My theory, given that Qatar is playing a double game, is that Presidents Trump and Netanyahu are playing good cop and bad cop.
