Williams refusing the DHS request for a stay of her initial ruling affirms that dismantling of the facility must be done within the 60-day requirement. It is questionable that the DHS’s further attempts to appeal the decision can be accomplished before the the facility is gutted.
For now, it’s a big win for activist lawfare against PDJT. It appears that the most favorable outcome would be a very near-term, successful stay of the demolition order, and eventual support from SCOTUS of the facility’s legitimacy.

If you’re referring to the psych industry, there are next to no efficacious “treatments” for mental illness. And there already are way too many “treatments” that don’t work and poison children’s brains for life.
In fact the term “mental illness” defies a good definition inamuch as there is no such thing as “the mind”, only the brain (a physical organ we still don’t know tnat much about).
At best the psych industry can only hope to reeducate bad thinking (a dubious goal given the vast percentages of “therapists” who are themselves emotionally disturbed and/or nincompoops and that there is no consensus on what is “wrongthink”), or depress areas of brain functioning with drugs (only useful in the tiny portion of cases involving out of control hallucinations).

These days and in most cases, its the social workers doing the counselling, the psychiatrists just do the prescribing.
You don’t even need to see a psychiatrist. Regular doctor’s prescribe the crap too. Had a niece suffering a manic episode because of college stress. Local doctor just prescribed an anti depressant. Made it worse. She ended up in the psych hospital for a few weeks. Thankfully she had a decent doctor there who told her she was just stressed out and helped her get with a good therapist who was also a biblical counselor. She’s married with 2 kids now and doing much better.
Did you know that autism is coded as a mental disease so that any associated medical treatments are not covered by insurance. Many families with autistic children are forced to seek government assistance because of the high cost of non-covered care.
In my personal experience, for many years our family’s out of pocket costs were more than the mortgage costs. Most of the treatments which were effective were not covered by insurance.
The neurologist who diagnosed my son with autism strongly suggested that any therapy that could help would need to be provided before he reached the age of 18 years old because any developmental improvement after that age was unlikely. Guess when government therapy support ends: at the age of 18 years old.
Do you see the strings on the con. Create the problem – prevent access to legitimate options to address – present government solution as only viable option – when harm is permanently established remove any further assistance.
Government abuse of its citizens has been institutionalized and must be exposed for all to see. Many are unwilling to admit such things are happening for they would have to further acknowledge the breadth and depth of the problem was right in front of their eyes and they were unable or unwilling to see.
In the end, our family learned early and often that our only hope was in a gracious and generous God who has always been on time to provide what was needed – never early and never late.

Perhaps the younger people here do not realize that Homosexuality and its variants and other sexual aberrations were once – correctly – considered mental illnesses by everyone, including the medical establishment.
However, thanks to the topsy-turvy Kulcheral Revolution of the 1960’s and 1970’s, the medical establishment removed Homosexuality from its list of mental illnesses over 50 years ago (1973). Homosexuality was no longer considered a mental problem, unless a patient felt depressed about having homosexual tendencies.
This was part of the normalization of much immoral behavior, a movement called un-ironically The New Morality, un-ironic because, as many of us noted at the time, “The New Morality” was not new: it was the old Immorality.
Becoming pregnant without marriage, couples living together without marriage, “Free Love,” “Open Marriage,” and of course getting abortions, and other such behaviors, proscribed and condemned, were all being pushed as “Alternate Lifestyles,” and not as anything of which one should feel shame.
Shame itself came under attack as a bigoted reaction from the unenlightened!

Your comment about replacing a mostly civilized, law-abiding, judicious, faithful society……made me think about how our society has changed over many decades.
In the past, before the 1960s, the strength of a civil society was based on the Nuclear Family-Father, Mother, Children. The family unit were responsible for their on wellbeing. The father worked and sometimes the mother as well, but they took the responsibility for their children. The provided food shelter and saw that they received medical care and education. They were responsible and accountable.
Of course it was not perfect. There were divorces and bad parenting, but that was fairly rare in those times.
I don’t know if the destruction of the more traditional Family Unit was an orchestrated plan, but our society seems to be evolving away from it- It’s a boring way to live

We’re told we shouldn’t care about what people do in the privacy of their own homes (not that they keep it private anymore) but this is pretending that all our behaviors don’t contribute to the whole – and the wholesomeness – of our society.
We should care.
In Chicago, a lot of safety net hospitals have been closed and sold. Some have been turned into condos. Some have been razed to the ground. Many of the long term mental health facilities have been sold….as they sit on “prime real estate”. Some of the properties have been bought by foreigners. some by citizens.
TPTB sold it to the citizens on the compassionate angle of “the least restrictive environment” for mental health care. That was the feel good terminology of the early ’90’s.
I believe everyone has some form of mental illness. It could be a gambling addiction, anger and fighting all the time, undue timidity, over confidence, extreme weakness, or many other things that our brains affect in our lives. If we recognize it in ourselves it is typically not problematic or at least we can live with it. So, if we recognize a problematic behavior in others, there should be some attention paid not written off as “Oh, everybody’s different”.
Part of the problem has been the “don’t judge others” movement. That needs to stop and Mom’s need to continue to stress “stranger danger” to children.
There used to be a blogger, titled her site Robin of Berkeley, a licensed psychiatrist and practicing, at that time, therapist. In one of her columns, regarding the change in diagnostics for variations on sexual behavior, opined how students, in order to graduate and get their degrees in the profession, had to accept the various sexual deviations we are now seeing, including the trans thing, as being normal if they wanted to receive their diploma.
A practice not dissimilar to the forced political correctness we see these days for people to keep their jobs, such as being forced to attend DEI, equity, and other anti-male seminars employers would require for their workers, especially government workers. Also similar to environmental students required to believe that man-made climate change is a real danger, otherwise they would risk finding employment if they didn’t spout the correct belief.

Pardon me, I’m a gay woman and not mentally ill in the slightest. I was always in danger of being kicked out of housing or fired from a job if found out back in the day. I detest the gay rights movement and have had nothing to do with it since the 1990’s. And there are MANY of us who feel the same.
