I have an ‘I wonder’ question … as in, I wonder if anyone has any info on this?
Just saw a headline: CDC Reveals Alarming Autism Rates Among Children.
During the height of ‘masking’, many commented that little children were going to be negatively affected by masks because … during the time when they would be learning to talk they were muzzled. Meaning… not only could they not speak, but they could not clearly hear adults speak and observe lip movements.
So now … is the problem really ‘autism’, or just a retarded ability to speak?
Please don’t misunderstand me! I am sure autism is a very real problem with links to provable causation. I just find myself wondering about the (purple word) mask – including those parents happily used to muzzle their noisy kids.
I remember being heartbroken waiting in checkout lines seeing lots of big, sad eyes on muzzled kids. I knew i would not be thanked for yanking off those masks – yeah, the ones that the box source said would not protect against viruses. BAH!!
Yes, I’m sure that all the masking interfered with children’s comprehension. When my son was little, his hearing was very poor (much improved after a few surgeries). We would look directly into his face, and he would half hear/half read lips. Can’t imagine what his life would have been like if he’d been unable to see faces.
On a related topic, apparently the government (we taxpayers) doles out cash for various and sundry diagnoses – such as the various alphabet ones: ADD. ADHD, Yada Yada Yada. So, I believe there is incentive there for some parents……sadly.

you are so right. I have also read that many parents ‘go along with’ drugging solutions to calm normal, energetic playful kids wanting to be kids – while parents (and teachers) don’t want to be bothered.
Glad your son’s hearing was able to be improved. That counts big points.
