French mathematician and astronomer (The History of Astronomy), dies at 72
Biography: Jean Baptiste Joseph Delambre played a key role in the development of the metric system. He also made significant contributions to astronomy and geodesy during the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
Delambre’s early life was marked by a childhood illness that left him with sensitive eyes. This condition led him to develop an impressive ability to memorize information, becoming fluent in several languages. He began his career as a tutor before turning his attention to astronomy in his thirties.
In 1792, Delambre was selected to lead an expedition to measure the meridian from Dunkirk to Rodez. This work was crucial for establishing the metric system, which is now used worldwide. His efforts in this project established his position in the scientific community.
Delambre’s career continued to advance thereafter. He became a member of the French Academy of Sciences and was later appointed as the director of the Paris Observatory. In 1801, Napoleon Bonaparte named him Permanent Secretary for Mathematical Sciences at the Academy.
In 1804, Delambre married Elisabeth-Aglaée Leblanc de Pommard. Her son from a previous marriage assisted Delambre in his astronomical and geodetical surveys. This collaboration helped Delambre in his scientific work.
Delambre made important contributions to astronomical calculations. He developed equations known as “Delambre’s analogies,” which are still used in spherical trigonometry. He also wrote extensive works on the history of astronomy, completing much of this work after the age of 70.
His name is one of those inscribed on the Eiffel Tower, and a crater on the moon is named after him. Delambre also received several more ordinary honors, including knighthood in the Order of Saint Michael and the Légion d’honneur.
Delambre’s influence extended beyond his scientific work, including his once intervening to request the release of James Smithson from French imprisonment. Smithson later went on to endow the Smithsonian Institution in the United States.

Biography: Grahame-White was an early aviation pioneer, one of the first people to qualify as a pilot in England after training at Louis Blériot’s flying school. He entered in a number of competitions, including a 1910 Daily Mail-sponsored air race between London and Manchester.
Of his other feats, Grahame-White once landed his Farman biplane in the middle of Washington D.C., right by the White House—at which, rather than being punished, he was applauded by the press for his skill.
Grahame-White was further involved in commercialising aviation and the military use of air power. Prior to World War One, he was experimenting with fitting weapons to aircraft; and during the war he flew the first night patrol mission in 1914.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

This is what my son does. I bought him a very similar backpack to carry my grandson around in and he takes him fishing, foraging, clamming, hiking and to other outdoors adventures. Last weekend we took my grandson with us to the mountains to pick huckleberries, he loves eating them too.
I instilled the outdoors adventure bug into my son and he’s doing the same for my grandson, my legacy lives on.

Well, I moved up when I was 10. My dad was in the fishing industry so he moved up and started up here and didn’t want to come. You know it’s hard when you’re 10 to move out of your place and ended up in Richman and at that time it was kind of a farming community still you know blueberries and ditches and I went to Richmond High. Shrimp Sold at Walmart May Be Radioactive: Warning Issued to Customers
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warned Americans that some shrimp products sold at Walmart may contain a radioactive substance known as Cesium-137.
The FDA warned that repeated low-dose exposure to Cesium-137 includes an “elevated risk of cancer” caused by DNA damage.
The warning applies to “certain raw frozen shrimp products processed by PT. Bahari Makmur Sejati (doing business as BMS Foods), a company located in Indonesia, and sold at Walmart,” the FDA said in a press release.
Cesium-137 was discovered in shipping containers found at ports in Los Angeles, Houston, Miami and Savannah, Georgia, according to the press release. The FDA collected samples for analysis, which confirmed the presence of the substance in one sample of the shrimp product.
The following products are affected by the warning.

I had a seizure yesterday. I was taken to the hospital where it was determined that I had a brain tumor. In about 30 minutes they’re going to wheel me into the OR and cut a hole in my skull and try to remove the tumor. They say it’s a small tumor and it should be easily operable. Chances of recovery are very good so I should be okay afterwards;
maybe a few symptoms of weakness afterwards.
But that’s the relatively minor issue. The tumor is connected to a spot of lung cancer they found during the MRI scan. They won’t know how bad the cancer is until they get a biopsy of the brain tumor. Worst case scenario is that I have Stage 4 lung cancer. Best case is that I have lung cancer, requiring chemo and radiation therapy.
This all came about suddenly, with no symptoms beforehand – surprise to me. So now I have some things to think about. Luckily I’m a veteran and most or all of my bills will be taken care of, so that’s one major worry taken care of.
Well my surgery is scheduled for 3 and it’s now 3, so it should be go time any time now.
I want to do this about as much as I want to have a hole drilled in my head. Ha! Get it? A little brain surgery humor.

Give us, I pray, an untroubled night of rest and quietness of heart. May we be refreshed and renewed in body, soul and spirit as we rest our weary hearts in You through the hours of the night.

Loving Lord, as the day is coming to an end, I want to thank You for being with me in all that has taken place today. I also want to lay the whole day before You, asking that you would show me if there is anything that I have done to hurt or harm another person unknowingly, or if I have done anything that is displeasing in Your sight, or quenched the work of the Spirit in me, so that I may turn away from such things in the days that lie ahead.

Prayer Of Thanksgiving In The Evening
Praise Your holy name Heavenly Father, for granting yet another day in my life and for being with me every step of the way. Thank You for the many blessings that You have provided and the love and fellowship that I have with the friends and family that in Your grace You have placed in my life.
My heart is so thankful for all the many blessings that I enjoy day by day, and today I am once again reminded that Your mercies are new every morning and Your faithfulness endures from generation to generation.
Thank You, that I have been brought into Your family and have been made a child of God and a citizen of heaven. Words cannot express my love and devotion to You Lord
I pray that You would watch over me as I rest tonight, and that You would give me a restful night’s sleep so that I may wake up in the morning refreshed in body and spirit and ready to do Your will. Its disgusting how no major media except the New York Post is reporting about the savage day care beating in Bainbridge Georgia. A small child was badly beaten on his first day. Day care worker Yvette Thurston has been arrested. Look it up and you will know why. 🙏 for that little boy.

“Calling a technology ‘green energy’ does not mean there are no environmental impacts,” Zeldin, the 2022 Republican candidate for governor, told The Post.
He blasted the “delusional” and unrealistic green energy goals advanced by Gov. Kathy Hochul and Albany Democrats amid the backlash against the proliferation of battery storage plants across New York, including Staten Island, Queens, the Hudson Valley and upstate.
“Residents are looking across the country where dangerous lithium battery fires at BESS facilities have caused widespread damage, and they are concerned with New York’s partisan push to fill yet another of its delusional ‘green’ goals, which the state itself admits it cannot meet,” Zeldin said.
Zeldin slammed what he deemed wacky state Democrat policies that move to limit or phase out more reliable energy sources such as natural gas to advance their climate protection agenda.
“The state that banned the safe extraction of natural gas, gas hook-ups on new construction, gas stoves, and aims to end the sale of gas-powered vehicles, continues to put the safety and well-being of New Yorkers second to their climate change agenda,” Zeldin said.
He cited recent incidents in California and Hawaii to demonstrate the serious risks BESS facilities pose to host communities and first responders.
Since 2019, New York has approved more than 6,000 battery storage projects creating 440 megawatts of capacity, with 1.3 gigawatts already under contract and a state goal of six gigawatts by 2030, according to the EPA.
New York passed two laws that dramatically expanded the state government’s power to override local opposition for major renewable projects, including battery storage facilities of 25 megawatts or larger.
Concerns include potential toxic emissions released during a blaze as well as contaminated water containing hydrofluoric acid and other pollutants being discharged into the Nissequogue River and groundwater while fighting a fire at the facility.
