Grand Jury materials are supposed to remain secret, else current and future suspects could get a headsup, witnesses often would be afraid or reluctant to testify for both safety and privacy reasons, and unindicted persons could unfairly have their reputations harmed.

It was the same with movie theaters and grocery stores and restaurants. Lots of cash makes it easy to pad the profits. That empty movie theater with 5 people is shown as being full. Same with Vegas Shows and hotel rooms.
Maybe the lack of actual cash customers has them shaking down our Senators for tax dollars and laundering it through grants, NGO’s or other ways of doing it now.

Following this perhaps we’ll get a do-over of Loving v. Virginia (1967) abolishing restrictions on interracial marriage. And then we can get another look at Griswold v Conn. (1965) protecting the liberty of married couples to use contraceptives without government restrictions.
Seriously, no matter what one believes about same-sex marriage, these kinds of initiatives at this time in history will do more to fracture the MAGA coalition more than anything else I can think of. I can’t help but believe RINO, GOPe and even some Soros money is behind these efforts.
Personally, I think I’d rather Government remove any reference to the word marriage from all laws and just treat everyone as citizens.
There is no place for the federal government when it comes to marriage laws, and there never was. Marriage is subject to the civil laws of each individual state, and the federal government has no say. It’s the same exact logic that got Roe rightfully overturned. They should do the exact same thing here.
And to those that are worried that overturning this would damage MAGA, they overturned Roe, and Trump was elected in 2024.
At the time of the decision legalizing same sex marriage, I didn’t care other than to disapprove of the Supreme Court legislating from the bench by making up new rights out of thin air. Over time, though, I think it’s been harmful on balance, and that states shouldn’t have to allow it if they don’t want to. But I agree that this isn’t the time for those kind of initiatives-they’ll just fracture the MAGA coalition. Down the road, I’d like to see a southern state ban it and for the Supreme Court to fix what was a bad decision.
Two things:
First, if the Internal Revenue Service were disbanded and the tax code eliminated then the federal government would have NO SAY in the subject of marriage – and they shouldn’t. It is only the necessity of filing taxes that brought the issue to a federal hearing.
Secondly, if the forced public depravity of “same sex marriage” didn’t exist, (an inherent contradiction in terms), all of the related problems such as allowing perverts to adopt or foster children and babies, etc., would no longer have to be treated as something which can’t be addressed legally.
Since the 2016 faulty decision many other issues have followed.
I’d much rather the SC takes up birth right citizenship and corrects that one. The distortion of the Constitution to get such a ridiculous interpretation of this issue needs to be put back to its rightful meanings and this is highly influential for illegal immigrants and other foreigners who travel here just for this purpose. It’s the craziest policy to keep allowing this.
This marriage issue is probably not going anywhere via the SC. Talk about driving the left more insane than they already are, this is the issue that will really send them over the edge if it ever got changed back. Not that I would care about the left freaking , but it might spill over into the MAGA side also. This issue should never have happened in the first place since the federal govt. should never have a role in marriage anyway. States(laws and

Ted Kaczynski, the anarchist and so-called Unabomber who died in a federal prison medical facility on Saturday, transformed from boy genius to terrorist, going from a star mathematics student to a feared assailant who targeted academics, scientists and industrialized society as a whole.
Kaczynski entered Harvard University as a 16-year-old on a scholarship, after skipping the sixth and 11th grades. It was there that he was subjected to an experiment run by Harvard psychologist Henry A. Murray that was backed by the Central Intelligence Agency. Though he graduated with a mathematics degree, later completing a doctorate in the field before becoming a professor, questions remain over whether — or to what extent — he was affected by the experiment, which reportedly involved mock interrogations in which participants’ beliefs were harshly disparaged.
Murray’s study was widely reported to be part of a CIA program code-named Project MK-Ultra, inspired by the use of mind-control techniques on U.S. prisoners of war in Korea by the Soviet Union, China and North Korea. The program sought to understand how to control subjects’ minds, sometimes using substances such as LSD, according to a document the CIA made publicly available in 2018. (There has not been evidence to suggest LSD or similar substances were used at Harvard on Kaczynski.)
“The project attempted to produce a perfect truth drug for use in interrogating suspected Soviet spies during the Cold War,” the document says. “And generally to explore any other possibilities of mind control.”
CIA Director Richard Helms ordered the destruction of many files related to MK-Ultra in 1973. Nevertheless, Kaczynski disclosed some of his apparent involvement in the study in correspondence from prison with the professor Alston Chase, who later wrote a book about the Unabomber.
Chase argued in a June 2000 article in the Atlantic magazine that Kaczynski’s experiences at Harvard — his studies, overlapping with his roughly three-year participation in Murray’s experiment — helped create the Unabomber.
“Thus did Kaczynski’s Harvard experiences shape his anger and legitimize his wrath,” wrote Chase, who died in 2022. “By the time he graduated, all the elements that would ultimately transform him into the Unabomber were in place …”
