First off: “the only country in the Middle East where the Christian community is actually growing, albeit slowly.”
Second: complains that Israel only devotes 7% of its Ministry of Religion budget to non-Jews, while Christians are 2% of the population. But to get to that complaint, stupidly includes Muslims. (Why should Israel under any circumstances support Islam?)

In 2024, there 111 claims to police (or just news media) of ultra-Orthodox, mostly youthful gangs, spitting and name-calling, as well as 35 incidences of vandalism against Christian churches, as well as some claims of ultra-Orthodox blocking foreign tourists from religious sites on Jewish holiday of Sukkot. Israeli police arrested the perps.
In same 2024, there were 18,000 attacks against Christians in Israel by Muslims, including rock-throwing and outright terrorism, 132 shootings, 25 car rammings, and 14 stabbings (with 56 total fatalities).
(There also were in excess of 16,000 rocket attacks launched from Lebanon and Gaza, albeit these were not specifically against Christians.)

Put Away the Pike Statue – Redeem the USA
During the Black Lives Matter campaign in 2020, a mob tore down and set fire to the statue of Confederate general Albert Pike that had been standing in Judiciary Square in Washington DC.
Now, President Trump has gotten the National Park Service to restore the statue. It is planned to put it back in its original place this October.
The news media had covered the 2020 mob event as a part of the wave of indiscriminate attacks on History in the name of woke madness.
But this statue has a much deeper significance than what came out at the time it was torn down. This may become a political rallying point in the months ahead.
Albert Pike was the principal founder of the Ku Klux Klan just after the end of the Civil War.
The statue honoring him was dedicated in October 1901, a month after the assassination of William McKinley made Theodore Roosevelt the President.
Teddy Roosevelt and his elite Anglophile friends had long campaigned to crush Abraham Lincoln‘s American System strategic orientation. They acted to swing the United States over into the camp of the British empire, to destroy our reputation as the leader of republics fighting imperialism.
Albert Pike was an elite Northerner who had gone South to stir up anti-American treason. When assassination put Teddy Roosevelt in the White House, the erection of a statue in Pike’s honor was a signal, to the transatlantic elite, that America was to be humiliated and whipped into line behind the British empire. We were to be the dumb giant, with the muscle and the money, to pull the British irons out of the fire.
Pike’s central role in the creation of the post-Civil War Ku Klux Klan was well known in Klan circles. (See excerpts from the KKK self-history, below.) But the facts about the KKK, or even about his being a Confederate general (union veterans had protested the statue), were suppressed in the words inscribed on the pedestal of the statue at the time it went up.
The cover story, was that he was the head of the southern section of the Scottish Rite Masons, as well as a poet and philosopher. Even the Masonic side of the Pike story is essentially a ruse, since Benjamin Franklin’s friends were Masons who were republican in orientation, and the British and the tories set up the Scottish Rite in America during the American Revolution to promote the British connection in leadership circles. Been too long since I read up on him, Fuzzy, Don’t remember much about him other than:
He was a Military Man, served in several of our wars, became a General in the Confederate Army during the civil war, was also a politician, fought for rights for the Indian tribes out west, was an “adventurer”, explored out in the Southwest, he served on the Supreme Court of one or our states (don’t remember which one), was a member of the Masonic Lodge…
May have been a member of the KKK as were many other prominent folks… Couldn’t have started the KKK in 1865 though, as several other histories state the KKK was in existence in the early 1830s…
Lots of info out there on him if you are interested, just read REAL real history as opposed to wikipedia or snopes…
this seems to be a more fulsome history of Albert Pike; and there are conflicting stories of whether or not he was part of the KKK, no proof either way, but he certainly had a dislike of giving the former slaves the vote and he seems to have been intrigued by secret societies, given it is said he was also a member of the Scottish Rite of the Freemasons, as during that time frame secret societies was the rage not just in the United States but in England as well.

Todays thot – gerrymandering. Another area of political abuse. I see that some NE States have no “R” represented districts at all. Proposal. Census records record registered D’s and R’s in state. Calculate the ratio, say 70% to 30 %, or 60-40, whatever. Then require that district mapping process ( lines drawn ) is required to conform within reason to that established ratio – period. Minimum of ONE rep ( yeah, include other-Independents, etc., ( if they meet a minimum census percentage to be established ) – is required per established population ratio minimum.
That might prove difficult to implement if minority parties are not clustered in areas. Could end up with speckled districts that are not contiguous.
Not just some NE states, all 6 of them have no R’s in the US House. They have zero representation in their federal government.
And we have 1 Republican Senator from those same 6 states, if you can call Susan Collins a real Republican.
Taxation without representation from the federal, to state to municipal level.

People rightfully talk about the electoral college, gerrymandering precincts, etc. All valid points.
I’d like the same logic applied to PACs and donations. I agree that it is unconstitutional to say a person cannot donate to a PAC. That is not my argument.
My problem with PACs is when $500m is donated in CA or NY by donors, and then dumped into swing States and other contested districts to sway the outcome of Federal elections.
If the outputs (votes) are determined by the electoral college of those precincts, then the inputs (campaign funding) should follow the same apportionment.
It seems very logical and constitutional to me.
