I find it incredibly difficult to understand that it’s illegal for a 12 year old to buy cigarettes or a BB Gun but they can have a sex change operation?
I suspect the real target of this Bill is to allow an adult to assume CONTROL over a trafficked and unaccompanied immigrant minor.

I would express it differently, as NO one wanting to live where underclass Black people are. Even Black people. As soon as they get a decent paying job they leave the inner city for the suburbs and never look back.

I would promote a more nuance view. I am not saying your are wrong. I am saying that there is a confounding factor, that is, another reason that gives this appearance.
I would say avoid areas where welfare decency is large minority or majority of the population. The government targeted blacks for familial destruction at a time when everybody trusted the government. These are pre-covid days.

Last year, I took my wife to Las Vegas for the first time since 2016. I was massively disappointed. Drinks and food were super expensive. Everything was overpriced. Moreover, I felt like we were in another country; Uber drivers and hotel staff did not understand English. I know some Spanish, and I always ask a non-English speaking person, “how long have you been in the US?” When I get an answer back that exceeds a few months, then I will ask, “why have you made no effort to learn English?” I normally get blank stares. We will not be going to Las Vegas again.
i genuinely loathe being there these days. one of the last “benefits” was that if you were sitting at the tables you’d get free drinks, but even that you can’t get anymore.
We often crossed the Can/U.S. border and took a cheap flight from Bellingham Washington to L.V.
We were there in 2024 to experience your Presidents magnificent win, and again in January 2025 to “ soak in” the inauguration.
We do not anticipate ever returning to L.V. what was once truly fun, has now become a chore, and a seriously overpriced one.
Sure, one can find value ( as we did) like $1.50 awesome hotdogs, and riding the local bus as seniors 😎

However that was a far cry from one of our first visits where we saw Seigfried ( Sp) and Roy the illusionists at I think it was the Stardust for $8.00 which included two drinks😉

Used to fly from San Diego for 35 bucks, flew in evening out in the morning. Didn’t even bother with a room. Show, dinner drinks, I don’t even gamble. It was a cheap weekend.
I was in the Nevada casino industry since 1981.
In the 1990s when corporate casinos started becoming the norm they switched to the business model of “Every department has to generate revenue” instead of hotel rooms, slots/table games, and restaurants generate revenue. The casinos used to own/operate the restaurants. Now, they rent to professional restaurants to provide food.
Each head of each department had to conjure up ways to make $$$$. The cleaning department started charging the table games department to clean their areas. Cocktails charged the casino departments for the cocktails served for “free”. Valet parking started charging to park cars. Hotel departments started tacking on fees.
I wore a suit and supervised very, very high end table games. I cannot tell you how many times I had to empty waste baskets, clean off tables, and move dirty glasses to someplace less unsightly because of cutbacks or failure to pay someone to come in a clean. This is in front of people wagering $10,000 to $100,000 a hand. No effort was made to keep up appearances. The public areas were even filthier. This was at a major, high end casino on the Strip.
Somewhere around 2015 I was forced to go to a week long “diversity” class. One guy teaching a class (former military) proudly told us a story of a black American housekeeper who complained that the Spanish/English speaking housekeepers all spoke Spanish in front of her even though they knew English. He proudly told us that he said, “Why don’t you learn Spanish to make them feel welcome?”
Also, beginning in mid-September, the weather starts to be enjoyable and it is the perfect time to come to LV. Now, they crowd/close portions of the Strip to build for the Formula 1 race making it impossible to get around. Then the prices are jacked up even more around race time making it even more unaffordable to come to LV. This teaches people to not come to Vegas and to seek other places to spend their money.
Local casinos in LV are booming. Station casinos is having their best year in 40 years of business. They are up 49% this year.
The news/s tells that Vegas is dying due to pricing themselves out of the market.
About the English-Spanish thingy….growing up in the Canal Zone and Panama…I learned the basics of the language…but I also learned to comprende mucho mas….and never let on what I comprende…
We were there when they were setting up for the F1.

Reno, when it has the outside events such as this week’s Hot August Nights, or the July Art Town event, the September balloon races, among other events such as the camel races in Virginia City or the olden, classic, boat parade and pro-am golf events up at Lake Tahoe are good times to get in both the outdoor attractions, the larger casino gambling, dinner show events and is still a clean city, doing its best to continue to live up to its moniker as the biggest little city in the world – and those gangs and other grifters that moved over to Las Vegas when the Oakland Raiders team moved to Las Vegas don’t exist in Reno.
I started in the casino industry in 1981 in Reno. First, was Harrah’s and second was Peppermill. Those are wonderful memories. Unfortunately, I saw the writing on the wall when casinos were being built on tribal land in California. I knew that it was going to damage the Reno casino industry which it did.
I swore that I would never live in Las Vegas but I actually love here. It’s not as pretty as the Reno area but we still get snow on our mountains, have beautiful red rocks, mountains to get out of the heat, and lots of empty land once you get 30 minutes from downtown.
Bill Harrah’s antique car museum was amazing.

Back in the day, the casinos filled-in “all of the blanks” in the accounting equation. Call them “the Mob” if you want to, but they knew how the business worked. You “gave” the client all sorts of “free or nearly-free” things, including shows, and at the end of the day the customer paid for it – at the casino, while having a good time doing so.
And, they left happy. They knew how the bills had been paid, and they had paid for what they got.

I have worked in retail recently. People who buy small items with $100 bills can wipe out all the store’s change very quickly.

I have read – but I cannot find it – that the South Park creators inked a new, more lucrative deal. I wish that read it closely in light to their cultural attacks against MAGA. It appears that part of the deal is to wage cultural war against us.
I attended a high school play of ‘The Sound of Music’. I spoke to people in the play and surprisingly this podunk high school must be pay royalties to Rodgers and Hammerstein to hold this play. I was surprised by this since a patent, for example, for a life saving idea, would expire after, what?, 50 years. But, you must pay Hollywood for this trivial work and it appears that there is expiration date to pay royalties like there are in none entertainment industries.
So, I do hope that Trump and the MAGA politicians remove all tax regulation that unfairly grants royalty claims after excessive times, say 20 years, and all other tax laws that allow easy and lucrative tax exemption for arts. They do it all the time in Hollywood.
My reasoning is this: would you tax exempt Nazi, communist, or racist propaganda? No. You have the right to express it but not have the government help you save or make money from it.
It is time to overhaul the tax code which makes Hollywood wealthy in ways that Americans cannot do in other areas, which is reflected in much less tax exemption or royalty claims.
It would also be a big f-you to Hollywood and it’s anti-American and perverted narrative.
Dont confuse the creators with the producers. Copyright is designed to endure the expected life of the creator, around 70 years I think. I agree it’s an upside down equation, but the record labels and publishers bear the cost of printing and releasing new artists, and the creators only get a portion of the total revenue.
However, also consider that for every multi-million dollar project that’s a hit, there are dozens of flops where the producers lose millions. For every song on the radio, there are a hundred flops where producers lost money.
When it’s a hit, everyone makes money on that particular title.
Consider what a 20 year rule would mean. A rock band with a medicore hit in 1975 would stop getting royalties in 1995. Yet from 1995 to 2025, there are 10’s of millions of listens via CD, then MP3, and now youtube. So you would have bootleggers getting rich off someome else’s work over the past 30 years with millions more viewers and listeners today than there were in the 70’s. Look at the youtube stats. There are songs from the 70s that have >500M plays which is far more plays than the artist ever had during their first 20 years.

A good example, Tether is the biggest Stablecoin provider in the world. They have over $160 billion of treasuries. They have been forced to onboard the FBI, the Secret Service, Chain Analysis, which is an In-Q-Tel-funded private blockchain analysis company. All of these law enforcement arms, private or public, are on their system. They’ve seized and blacklisted billions of dollars of Tethers at the behest of the public sector, and that is sort of the – it’s the new iteration of the private-public relationship that has been capital creation. And in many ways, it’s being sold to us as this convenient, wonderful thing, cheap fees, dollar access for everybody. But we’re creating an environment and a petri dish right now for global mass surveillance for all of our financial transactions and still the seizability and programmability at the behest of the public sector. So what’s really the benefit here? What is so genius about this for the people? Oh, no, it’s actually a really good way to build the Panopticon and buy Uncle Sam’s bags and enrich all of the donor class that we have seen support Donald Trump’s current administration. And to do it through a cutout so that gives the plausible deniability to the government itself in the exact same way Operation Chokepoint worked. Don’t worry. It’s not the government that’s debanking people. It’s the government that’s leaning on the DOJ to lean on the FDIC to lean on the private banks to debank you.”
“And you can really, at this very high level of computational analysis, really break down a lot of stuff that happens on these blockchains just through pretty basic human behavior. So in reality, it’s created an asymmetric advantage for intelligence-level communities and industries to be able to analyze the blockchain without any need of getting a warrant and going to that Wells Fargo server room or that Bank of America server room that they would have needed to do 10 years ago. Now they can go right to the blockchain and they can find exactly the transaction and use heuristic analysis and find your wallet. It’s really worse than CBDCs in this way because rather than it just being the government, which is very bad, I’m not saying CBDCs are good, publishing it in a closed box where you are willingly, knowingly giving your information to, you know, 10 to 13 branches of government and law enforcement and respective people that would be in charge of a CBDC. Mid Decade census can legally be done. However, can not currently be used for apportioning House seats.
Perhaps Trump plans to challenge this…or simply challenge the latest House seat appropriation based on census.
Perhaps he will use it to educate the American people on the injustice to them to gain support on not counting illegals.
