What really is being tested is the fortitude of the Administration people going on their shows. She was hired in 2012 by the Obama Administration and directly worked on developing Economic as well as Labor numbers heading into 2016 Elections, which were again OVER Stated and Corrected by 30-50% from the initial reports each month they were issued .. again WITHOUT EXPLANATION
Given her history, she was a known landmine and likely on the radar as a landmine … she was given the benefit of the doubt by the boss (i.e. enough rope) and she chose to poorly.

The jobs numbers for May and June will likely by adjusted again in the future. And the July numbers also will likely be adjusted in the future. Up? Down? I have no idea. With time, and as more data becomes available jobs numbers are adjusted as needed. The same is true of GDP numbers and other statistics. They do the best they can with the data available when they come up with the numbers. This can go on for years after the period for which the number were developed. The BLS does not engage in developing these statistics for political purposes.
If President Trump doesn’t like the job numbers, he should change his policies.
But don’t worry!! Once the replacement takes office the numbers will definitely go up.

Well Nag, one of the issues is that the BLS would not take the advise of the Greenspan team for an updated data system model with better computer modeling outputs- that is a failure of leadership after they were presented with better models.
Hassett did mention that the UK had a similar problem with an outdated modeling system.
During the Obama years I kept records of the monthly reports for about 5 years. Out of 250 monthly revisions, there were only 3 that were increased and the rest were revised downward.
The revision down of the previous month made the current month higher because of the previous revision.
