Good morning Betsy. Thank you for a wonderful selection of Caturday images. As always you don’t disappoint.
Getting used to the kittens all around the house now. Every morning I’ve got 7 kittens and momma rubbing my ankles and screaming their “horrible abuse” from me for not getting up earlier to feed everyone. They have food out for the night but that doesn’t seem to be their preference! Smiling as I type this.
One just crawled up my back to see what I was doing. Cleo, momma, will sit there and eat Beaus dry food when he starts eating and then he leaves and waits for her to go away. I truly think she does it just to spite him and tell him she is now the boss of this house.
I am forever picking up stuff they have knocked on the floor. Good exercise for my waistline. Ha Ha! that is about all of the update I have about “Kitten Central” today.

Betsy, I had forgotten what it was like to have cats around the house. It is a “chaotic joy” is all I can describe it as.
I’m sure it’s because they can see the bottom of the bowl. Appears they have exhausted themselves and are quiet and sleeping right now.
I’ll try to keep you updated, so you can experience my current life.
Bringing up St. Francis brings to mind a story: My twin sister was visiting me and when Buddy, my Catahoula stray showed up (was about 6 months old), I think he was a Katrina victim and was here with a family re-homed from Louisiana, staying in a motel in town right near the restaurant. We went out to eat as it was Valentine’s day and my husband was not in town and she was alone.
He ran up to us when we got out of the truck. He was skinny, muddy and scared to death with his tail tucked way under his body. No collar, so I put him in the cab of my truck on an old blanket I carried around just for strays I might find. My sister smiled and said “Oh look what St. Francis has given you for Valentine’s day”. We went into the little Mexican restaurant, ate, took him home and put him in my barn office until I could get him checked out with the vet before bringing him down to the house.
Why I think he was a Katrina victim was the minute the vet saw him she said “Oh look” at you, you have a Louisiana state dog, a Catahoula!
Not a day goes by I do not miss him. He was one of the coolest dogs I ever owned and there was not one day where he did not make me laugh!
Sigh, the memories of all our pets overwhelms this senior sometimes.
And once again there goes my heart, Pat….he knew what a kind of person you were…
And please, no one try to tell me God does not see and arrange 🙏🏻💕 I’m so glad you told the story. I unintentionally run across small videos of people who find (not on purpose) and save kittens, cats, puppies, dogs for whom life has held nothing good and for whom hope seems empty…and my heart breaks for their terrible condition, tears many times, and then rejoices as I see them begin to thrive and be loved.
Those are special. I can feel your missing. You’re a good ‘un, Pat… Thank the good Lord for your big heart and for those with hearts just like yours 😌💕 💕 💕
I miss all of my kitty buddies and think of them often. My current furry pal is 21 years old and I don’t know just how long she can remain with me. But she is a beauty and a sweetheart. Oddly, the rescue shelter warned us that she was very temperamental when we adopted her. They were SO wrong. I believe she had been abused by a previous owner and that was her issue. She is just a loving, sweet little one now.
I’m butting in, benzy ☕ All is takes sometimes is a loving heart. Bless yours, and hers 💕😌
When we first got her, she wanted NOTHING to do with me.. she would snarl and hiss when I got close. (First clue she was abused, probably by a male). Now we are good buds… she loves to follow me to any room I am in… and will sleep on the bed at night (but on the other side,.. not close)
Oh how sweet, dear sir. I don’t know what it is about men which attracts (in your case eventually) the affections of a cat or dog, but I have seen it so often. Especially with guys who have said they absolutely, definitely, under no corcumstances want a cat…only to see photos of said “unwanted” cat snuggling on the shoulder of a man who clearly adores it. I am guessing you are right about the abuse, and it breaks my heart. I will never ever understand it.
But an animal knows…I’m so happy she is your loving companion, as Tink is for Garrison. For you both. A gift really. Are you comfortable with telling us her name? God bless you both 🙏🏻😘😽

I so enjoy the combination of Paris street scene paintings with Satie’s relaxing melodies. Always loved his music. Just like I’ve always loved Scott Joplin. Back in the day I came across Joshua RIfkin’s Joplin piano performances and really enjoyed them (even on my chepie record-player)—he’s still the best in my opinion.
Little ‘Tink sends you a soft purr. I picked her up about an hour ago and she immediately relaxed into my arms . . . and of course started gently sharing her contented soft purrs with me. I think we could do this for hours and she wouldn’t move . . . What a wonderful companion. She’ll probably curl uo on my shoulder after I hit the pillow, later. Hope you enjoy the music, love. 🙂

I’ve been listening to quite a bit of music since July 4. Specific works which are perfect for reflection which I am sure we’ve all been doing in one way or another. Once I grab my first coffee, yours I know will fulfill that need which seems more intense these days… I will look forward to the Satie and perhaps add the one I find myself returning to nightly (Danish composer Carl Nielsen), a short masterful work of life and love which has overwhelmed me. Not in the same vein as Satie or your lovely guitar performances, but powerful and moving. The triumph of the human spirit, which is a beautiful thing…. 😘

There is a word there that you may not know and I will clear.

It is more than a hundred books and some of the rabbis in it are considered very wise and geniuses.

If you’re not a religious person then you never read it. It is quite complex. I have never read a single page nor anyone from mine and my wife’s family read it. Most Israelis didn’t read it.
David: Reading Talmud is challenging and rewarding. Talmud offers an entire system of thought. The reasoning and logic in the Talmud can be mind-blowing and hilarious at the same time. Only rabbis could come up with some of this stuff. I have barely made it through Tractate Berachot. It’s taken me years. You may be familiar with Daf Yomi, in which many thousands of Jews around the world read and discuss one page of Talmud a day. Completing the whole cycle takes seven years (evoking the 7 days of creation).
One need not be devoutly “religious” to read Talmud, but doing so takes dedication and patience. Plus, a lot of time.
Thank you. For a secular person it may be over the head, should start with basics. Like the Bible. Most Osraelis don’t even own the books. My point is that whatever the antisemite pulled out of context as if it represents Israel and its leaders, it really is a lie too.

Kibutz (Farm town) Nir Oz consisted of only 400 people. On 10/7 they were attacked by hundreds of terrorists. 47 were murdered, 76 kidnapped. Of those 9 were murdered on 10/7 during the transfer. 13 were murdered in captivity. About 20 are still there of which 9-10 are alive. The Bibas family was from there. RIP. Only 6 homes stayed intact. The local unit fought alone for two hours. Seven of the Unit were killed or kidnapped. The residents voted to rebuild the place. So far only a few families are back.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.

I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Have you ever considered why
You are the apple of God’s eye
We have jobs, titles, and responsibilities
Accountabilities acceptabilities permeabilities
No matter how confusing it all may be
God has a purpose and plan for thee
When guided by the Holy Spirit
We are inspired if we can hear it
The voice of God from within
Where to go when to begin
We believe and we receive
Thus we are able to achieve
Because God wills it all for us
We obey – He gives us the plus
We are here on an eternal quest
On our pathway we are but a guest
This life is our test to be worthy
For where we will end this journey
Have you ever been asked
To do something over tasked
Impossible for you but not for Him
God did not choose you on a whim
God knows the beginning and the end
It is your free will that may not bend
To His Will we must be fully aware
Only way to know is through prayer
Whatever He asks of you on cue
You must be willing and able to do
You must obey His daily demand
It is not a wish – it is a command
So if you are daily thinking
How to God’s plan you be linking
Listen to what the Spirit asks of you
Then you will know just what to do
If failure plagues you – anxiety too
If life in general is making you blue
If you are lost without a compass
Get off your bum kick up a rumpus
The trick to making the duress stop
Is to get up and move till you plop
Override the mental with exercise
Be not fearful – just be otherwise
God has a remedy for whatever ails you
Tap into His Spirit – sit not and just stew
For greater is He who lives within
Than he whose goal is to mire in sin
Know that God wants only what is best
For you to successfully complete the test
Develop those gifts and talents for your story
Give Him the effort He deserves for His Glory
