The files, list, whatever you want to call it, were in their possession since 2019 when Epstein left the building, either as a corpse or in witness protection. They had all that time to fiddle with it to their advantage. Probably little if any truth remains. That’s why the President blew it up. It’s all created to hamstring the President and prevent him from taking necessary action to Make America Great Again, just like the phony Russian dossier.
President Trump is privy to background information we are not.

Comey also was a prosecutor in the Diddy trial and that is why she was not immediately dismissed when Trump was sworn in as President.
Also Epstein was first convicted in 2008 so that, at a minimum, is 17 years that evidence has been out there in one form or another. Evidence that could be doctored, tampered with or just plain ignored due to prosecutorial discretion.

Maurene Comey complained today about being terminated without a reason being given. Well, boo hoo. People at her level in the private sector are typically at-will and when let go they are rarely ever provided a reason. But of course she is (was) a privileged government official who has to have it her way all the time.
And her comments about DOJ sowing alarm with her termination and that “fear is the tool of a tyrant”, and so on, only serve to illustrate how political she is and that through a political lens is likely how she approached her job. Those kind of comments only serve to prove it was a good decision rather than evidence of “tyranny” or any improper action.

Actually read what was opined, the wording, the phrasing. What one finds is interesting, disappointing, and the realization that most were a part of (intentionally or not) setting the stage for turning on President Trump.

Her basic premise makes a lot of sense to me, as I think we have all wondered why President Trump has responded in such a surprising fury directed at many people who have loyally supported him. The study by the Institute for Legislative Analysis, a conservative group led by Republican Party activists Fred McGrath and Ryan McGowan, compares the ideological leanings of every sitting member of Congress with the partisan makeup of their districts, drawing on more than 100,000 votes cast in the last session and overlapping them with the Cook Political Report’s Partisan Voter Index. The result is a striking picture of ideological misalignment across both parties, particularly among Republicans from deep-red states.
“It’s shocking to see that some Republican lawmakers are more aligned with the Democratic Party than with their own constituents,” said Fred McGrath, president of ILA and leader of this study.
More than two-thirds of lawmakers received a failing grade (“F”) for ideological alignment with their districts. Republicans were most often penalized for voting less conservatively than their deep-red districts, while Democrats struggled to meet the progressive expectations of blue districts.

She argued that disclosure of the investigative records was likely to interfere with the appeal in Maxwell’s case.
So Comey is the one holding up the release of information.
